The Widow’s Oil
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
Now a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, "Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the LORD; and the creditor has come to take my two children to be his slaves."1 Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the LORD: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen.1 One of the wives of a disciple of the prophets called to Elisha, "Sir, my husband is dead! You know how he feared the LORD. Now a creditor has come to take my two children as slaves."1 Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets to Elisha, saying, "Your servant my husband is dead. You know that your servant feared Yahweh. Now the creditor has come to take for himself my two children to be slaves."1 And a woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried to Elisha saying, Thy servant my husband is dead, and thou knowest that thy servant feared Jehovah; and the creditor is come to take my two children to be bondmen.
Elisha said to her, "What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?" And she said, "Your maidservant has nothing in the house except a jar of oil."2 And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil.2 Elisha asked her, "What should I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in your house?" She answered, "I have nothing in the house except a jar of olive oil."2 Elisha said to her, "What shall I do for you? Tell me: what do you have in the house?" She said, "Your handmaid has nothing in the house, except a pot of oil."2 And Elisha said to her, What shall I do for thee? Tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thy handmaid has not anything at all in the house but a pot of oil.
 Then he said, "Go, borrow vessels at large for yourself from all your neighbors, even empty vessels; do not get a few.3 Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbors, even empty vessels; borrow not a few.3 Elisha said, "Borrow many empty containers from all your neighbors.3 Then he said, "Go, borrow containers from of all your neighbors, even empty containers. Don't borrow just a few.3 And he said, Go, borrow for thyself vessels abroad from all thy neighbours, empty vessels; let it not be few;
"And you shall go in and shut the door behind you and your sons, and pour out into all these vessels, and you shall set aside what is full."4 And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full.4 Then close the door behind you and your children, and pour oil into all those containers. When one is full, set it aside."4 You shall go in, and shut the door on you and on your sons, and pour out into all those containers; and you shall set aside that which is full."4 and go in, and shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and pour out into all those vessels, and set aside what is full.
So she went from him and shut the door behind her and her sons; they were bringing the vessels to her and she poured.5 So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out.5 So she left him and closed the door behind her and her children. The children kept bringing containers to her, and she kept pouring.5 So she went from him, and shut the door on her and on her sons; they brought the containers to her, and she poured out.5 And she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons: they brought the vessels to her, and she poured out.

When the vessels were full, she said to her son, "Bring me another vessel." And he said to her, "There is not one vessel more." And the oil stopped.6 And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed.6 When the containers were full, she told her son, "Bring me another container." He told her, "There are no more containers." So the olive oil stopped flowing.6 It happened, when the containers were full, that she said to her son, "Bring me another container." He said to her, "There isn't another container." The oil stopped flowing.6 And it came to pass when the vessels were full, that she said to her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said to her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed.
Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, "Go, sell the oil and pay your debt, and you and your sons can live on the rest."7 Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy children of the rest.7 She went and told the man of God. He said, "Sell the oil, and pay your debt. The rest is for you and your children."7 Then she came and told the man of God. He said, "Go, sell the oil, and pay your debt; and you and your sons live on the rest."7 And she came and told the man of God; and he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy sons on the rest.
The Shunammite Woman
Now there came a day when Elisha passed over to Shunem, where there was a prominent woman, and she persuaded him to eat food. And so it was, as often as he passed by, he turned in there to eat food.8 And it fell on a day, that Elisha passed to Shunem, where was a great woman; and she constrained him to eat bread. And so it was, that as oft as he passed by, he turned in thither to eat bread.8 One day Elisha was traveling through Shunem, where a rich woman lived. She had invited him to eat [with her]. So whenever he was in the area, he stopped in to eat.8 It fell on a day, that Elisha passed to Shunem, where there was a prominent woman; and she persuaded him to eat bread. So it was, that as often as he passed by, he turned in there to eat bread.8 And it came to pass on a day, that Elisha passed to Shunem, where was a wealthy woman; and she constrained him to eat bread. And so it was, that as oft as he passed by, he turned in thither to eat bread.
She said to her husband, "Behold now, I perceive that this is a holy man of God passing by us continually.9 And she said unto her husband, Behold now, I perceive that this is an holy man of God, which passeth by us continually.9 She told her husband, "I know he's a holy man of God. And he regularly travels past our house.9 She said to her husband, "See now, I perceive that this is a holy man of God, that passes by us continually.9 And she said to her husband, Behold now, I perceive that this is a holy man of God, who passes by us continually.
"Please, let us make a little walled upper chamber and let us set a bed for him there, and a table and a chair and a lampstand; and it shall be, when he comes to us, that he can turn in there."10 Let us make a little chamber, I pray thee, on the wall; and let us set for him there a bed, and a table, and a stool, and a candlestick: and it shall be, when he cometh to us, that he shall turn in thither.10 Let's make a small room on the roof and put a bed, table, chair, and lamp stand there for him. He can stay there whenever he comes to visit us."10 Please let us make a little room on the wall. Let us set for him there a bed, a table, a chair, and a lamp stand. It shall be, when he comes to us, that he shall turn in there."10 Let us make, I pray thee, a small upper chamber with walls, and let us set for him there a bed, and a table, and a seat, and a lampstand; and it shall be when he cometh to us, he shall turn in thither.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
One day he came there and turned in to the upper chamber and rested.11 And it fell on a day, that he came thither, and he turned into the chamber, and lay there.11 One day he came [to their house], went into the upstairs room, and rested there.11 One day he came there, and he turned into the room and lay there.11 And it came to pass on a day, that he came thither, and he turned into the upper chamber, and lay there.
Then he said to Gehazi his servant, "Call this Shunammite." And when he had called her, she stood before him.12 And he said to Gehazi his servant, Call this Shunammite. And when he had called her, she stood before him.12 He told his servant Gehazi, "Call this Shunem woman." Gehazi called her, and she stood in front of him.12 He said to Gehazi his servant, "Call this Shunammite." When he had called her, she stood before him.12 And he said to Gehazi his servant, Call this Shunammite. And he called her, and she stood before him.
He said to him, "Say now to her, 'Behold, you have been careful for us with all this care; what can I do for you? Would you be spoken for to the king or to the captain of the army?'" And she answered, "I live among my own people."13 And he said unto him, Say now unto her, Behold, thou hast been careful for us with all this care; what is to be done for thee? wouldest thou be spoken for to the king, or to the captain of the host? And she answered, I dwell among mine own people.13 Elisha said to Gehazi, "Ask her what we can do for her, since she has gone to a lot of trouble for us. Maybe she would like us to speak to the king or the commander of the army for her." She answered, "I'm already living among my own people."13 He said to him, "Say now to her, 'Behold, you have cared for us with all this care. What is to be done for you? Would you like to be spoken for to the king, or to the captain of the army?'" She answered, "I dwell among my own people."13 And he said to him, Say now to her, Behold, thou hast been careful for us with all this care; what is to be done for thee? wouldest thou be spoken for to the king, or to the captain of the host? And she said, I dwell among mine own people.
So he said, "What then is to be done for her?" And Gehazi answered, "Truly she has no son and her husband is old."14 And he said, What then is to be done for her? And Gehazi answered, Verily she hath no child, and her husband is old.14 "What should we do for her?" Elisha asked. Gehazi answered, "Well, she has no son, and her husband is old."14 He said, "What then is to be done for her?" Gehazi answered, "Most certainly she has no son, and her husband is old."14 And he said, What then is to be done for her? And Gehazi said, Verily, she has no son, and her husband is old.
He said, "Call her." When he had called her, she stood in the doorway.15 And he said, Call her. And when he had called her, she stood in the door.15 Elisha said, "Call her." So Gehazi called her, and she stood in the doorway.15 He said, "Call her." When he had called her, she stood in the door.15 And he said, Call her; and he called her; and she stood in the doorway.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
Then he said, "At this season next year you will embrace a son." And she said, "No, my lord, O man of God, do not lie to your maidservant."16 And he said, About this season, according to the time of life, thou shalt embrace a son. And she said, Nay, my lord, thou man of God, do not lie unto thine handmaid.16 Elisha said, "At this time next spring, you will hold a baby boy in your arms." She answered, "Don't say that, sir. Don't lie to me. You're a man of God."16 He said, "At this season, when the time comes around, you will embrace a son." She said, "No, my lord, you man of God, do not lie to your handmaid."16 And he said, At this appointed time, when thy term is come, thou shalt embrace a son. And she said, No, my lord, man of God, do not lie to thy handmaid.
The woman conceived and bore a son at that season the next year, as Elisha had said to her.17 And the woman conceived, and bare a son at that season that Elisha had said unto her, according to the time of life.17 But the woman became pregnant and had a son at that time next year, as Elisha had told her.17 The woman conceived, and bore a son at that season, when the time came around, as Elisha had said to her.17 And the woman conceived, and bore a son at that appointed time in the next year as Elisha had said to her.
The Shunammite’s Son
When the child was grown, the day came that he went out to his father to the reapers.18 And when the child was grown, it fell on a day, that he went out to his father to the reapers.18 Several years later the boy went to his father, who was with the harvest workers.18 When the child was grown, it happened one day that he went out to his father to the reapers.18 And the child grew, and it came to pass one day, that he went out to his father to the reapers.
He said to his father, "My head, my head." And he said to his servant, "Carry him to his mother."19 And he said unto his father, My head, my head. And he said to a lad, Carry him to his mother.19 [Suddenly,] he said to his father, "My head! My head!" The father told his servant, "Carry him to his mother."19 He said to his father, "My head! My head!" He said to his servant, "Carry him to his mother."19 And he said to his father, My head, my head! And he said to the servant, Carry him to his mother.
When he had taken him and brought him to his mother, he sat on her lap until noon, and then died.20 And when he had taken him, and brought him to his mother, he sat on her knees till noon, and then died.20 The servant picked him up and brought him to his mother. The boy sat on her lap until noon, when he died.20 When he had taken him, and brought him to his mother, he sat on her knees until noon, and then died.20 And he carried him, and brought him to his mother; and he sat on her knees till noon, and died.

She went up and laid him on the bed of the man of God, and shut the door behind him and went out.21 And she went up, and laid him on the bed of the man of God, and shut the door upon him, and went out.21 She took him upstairs and laid him on the bed of the man of God, left [the room], and shut the door behind her.21 She went up and laid him on the bed of the man of God, and shut the door on him, and went out.21 And she went up, and laid him on the bed of the man of God, and shut the door upon him, and went out.
Then she called to her husband and said, "Please send me one of the servants and one of the donkeys, that I may run to the man of God and return."22 And she called unto her husband, and said, Send me, I pray thee, one of the young men, and one of the asses, that I may run to the man of God, and come again.22 She called her husband and said, "Please send me one of the servants and one of the donkeys. I will go quickly to the man of God and come back again."22 She called to her husband, and said, "Please send me one of the servants, and one of the donkeys, that I may run to the man of God, and come again."22 And she called to her husband, and said, Send me, I pray thee, one of the young men, and one of the asses, and I will run to the man of God, and come again.
He said, "Why will you go to him today? It is neither new moon nor sabbath." And she said, "It will be well."23 And he said, Wherefore wilt thou go to him to day? it is neither new moon, nor sabbath. And she said, It shall be well.23 Her husband asked, "Why are you going to him today? It isn't a New Moon Festival or a day of worship." But she said goodbye to him.23 He said, "Why would you want go to him today? It is neither new moon nor Sabbath." She said, "It's alright."23 And he said, Why wilt thou go to him to-day? It is neither new moon nor sabbath. And she said, It is well.
Then she saddled a donkey and said to her servant, "Drive and go forward; do not slow down the pace for me unless I tell you."24 Then she saddled an ass, and said to her servant, Drive, and go forward; slack not thy riding for me, except I bid thee.24 She saddled the donkey. Then she told her servant, "Lead on. Don't slow down unless I tell you."24 Then she saddled a donkey, and said to her servant, "Drive, and go forward! Don't slow down for me, unless I ask you to."24 Then she saddled the ass, and said to her servant, Drive and go forward; slack not the riding for me, except I bid thee.
So she went and came to the man of God to Mount Carmel. When the man of God saw her at a distance, he said to Gehazi his servant, "Behold, there is the Shunammite.25 So she went and came unto the man of God to mount Carmel. And it came to pass, when the man of God saw her afar off, that he said to Gehazi his servant, Behold, yonder is that Shunammite:25 So she came to the man of God at Mount Carmel. When he saw her coming at a distance, he told his servant Gehazi, "There is the woman from Shunem.25 So she went, and came to the man of God to Mount Carmel. It happened, when the man of God saw her afar off, that he said to Gehazi his servant, "Behold, there is the Shunammite.25 And she went and came to the man of God, to mount Carmel. And it came to pass when the man of God saw her afar off, that he said to Gehazi his servant, Behold, there is the Shunammite:

"Please run now to meet her and say to her, 'Is it well with you? Is it well with your husband? Is it well with the child?'" And she answered, "It is well."26 Run now, I pray thee, to meet her, and say unto her, Is it well with thee? is it well with thy husband? is it well with the child? And she answered, It is well:26 Run to meet her and ask her how she, her husband, and the boy are doing." "Everyone's fine," she answered.26 Please run now to meet her, and ask her, 'Is it well with you? Is it well with your husband? Is it well with the child?'" She answered, "It is well."26 run now, I pray thee, to meet her, and say unto her, Is it well with thee? is it well with thy husband? is it well with the child? And she said, It is well.
When she came to the man of God to the hill, she caught hold of his feet. And Gehazi came near to push her away; but the man of God said, "Let her alone, for her soul is troubled within her; and the LORD has hidden it from me and has not told me."27 And when she came to the man of God to the hill, she caught him by the feet: but Gehazi came near to thrust her away. And the man of God said, Let her alone; for her soul is vexed within her: and the LORD hath hid it from me, and hath not told me.27 When she came to the man of God at the mountain, she took hold of his feet. Gehazi went to push her away. But the man of God said, "Leave her alone. She is bitter. The LORD has hidden the reason from me. He hasn't told me."27 When she came to the man of God to the hill, she caught hold of his feet. Gehazi came near to thrust her away; but the man of God said, "Leave her alone; for her soul is troubled within her; and Yahweh has hidden it from me, and has not told me."27 And she came to the man of God to the mountain, and caught him by the feet; and Gehazi drew near to thrust her away; but the man of God said, Let her alone, for her soul is troubled within her, and Jehovah has hidden it from me, and has not told me.
Then she said, "Did I ask for a son from my lord? Did I not say, 'Do not deceive me'?"28 Then she said, Did I desire a son of my lord? did I not say, Do not deceive me?28 The woman said, "I didn't ask you for a son. I said, 'Don't raise my hopes.'"28 Then she said, "Did I desire a son of my lord? Didn't I say, Do not deceive me?"28 And she said, Did I desire a son of my lord? did I not say, Do not deceive me?
Then he said to Gehazi, "Gird up your loins and take my staff in your hand, and go your way; if you meet any man, do not salute him, and if anyone salutes you, do not answer him; and lay my staff on the lad's face."29 Then he said to Gehazi, Gird up thy loins, and take my staff in thine hand, and go thy way: if thou meet any man, salute him not; and if any salute thee, answer him not again: and lay my staff upon the face of the child.29 The man of God told Gehazi, "Put on a belt, take my shepherd's staff in your hand, and go. Whenever you meet anyone, don't stop to greet him. If he greets you, don't stop to answer him. Lay my staff on the boy's face."29 Then he said to Gehazi, "Tuck your cloak into your belt, take my staff in your hand, and go your way. If you meet any man, don't greet him; and if anyone greets you, don't answer him again. Then lay my staff on the face of the child."29 And he said to Gehazi, Gird up thy loins, and take my staff in thy hand, and go thy way. If thou meet any man, salute him not, and if any salute thee, answer him not again; and lay my staff upon the face of the lad.
The mother of the lad said, "As the LORD lives and as you yourself live, I will not leave you." And he arose and followed her.30 And the mother of the child said, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. And he arose, and followed her.30 The boy's mother said, "I solemnly swear, as the LORD and you live, I will not leave without you." So Elisha got up and followed her.30 The mother of the child said, "As Yahweh lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you." He arose, and followed her.30 And the mother of the lad said, As Jehovah liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee! And he rose up and followed her.

Then Gehazi passed on before them and laid the staff on the lad's face, but there was no sound or response. So he returned to meet him and told him, "The lad has not awakened."31 And Gehazi passed on before them, and laid the staff upon the face of the child; but there was neither voice, nor hearing. Wherefore he went again to meet him, and told him, saying, The child is not awaked.31 Gehazi went ahead of them and put the staff on the boy's face, but there was no sound or sign of life. So Gehazi came back to meet the man of God. Gehazi told him, "The boy didn't wake up."31 Gehazi passed on before them, and laid the staff on the face of the child; but there was neither voice, nor hearing. Therefore he returned to meet him, and told him, saying, "The child has not awakened."31 And Gehazi passed on before them, and laid the staff upon the face of the lad; but there was neither voice, nor sign of attention. And he returned to meet him, and told him saying, The lad is not awaked.
When Elisha came into the house, behold the lad was dead and laid on his bed.32 And when Elisha was come into the house, behold, the child was dead, and laid upon his bed.32 When Elisha came to the house, the dead boy was lying on Elisha's bed.32 When Elisha had come into the house, behold, the child was dead, and laid on his bed.32 And when Elisha came into the house, behold, the child was dead, and laid upon his bed.
So he entered and shut the door behind them both and prayed to the LORD.33 He went in therefore, and shut the door upon them twain, and prayed unto the LORD.33 He went into the room, closed the door, and prayed to the LORD.33 He went in therefore, and shut the door on them both, and prayed to Yahweh.33 And he went in and shut the door upon them both, and prayed to Jehovah.
And he went up and lay on the child, and put his mouth on his mouth and his eyes on his eyes and his hands on his hands, and he stretched himself on him; and the flesh of the child became warm.34 And he went up, and lay upon the child, and put his mouth upon his mouth, and his eyes upon his eyes, and his hands upon his hands: and stretched himself upon the child; and the flesh of the child waxed warm.34 Then he lay on the boy, putting his mouth on the boy's mouth, his eyes on the boy's eyes, his hands on the boy's hands. He crouched over the boy's body, and it became warm.34 He went up, and lay on the child, and put his mouth on his mouth, and his eyes on his eyes, and his hands on his hands. He stretched himself on him; and the flesh of the child grew warm.34 And he went up, and lay upon the child, and put his mouth upon his mouth, and his eyes upon his eyes, and his hands upon his hands, and bent over him; and the flesh of the child grew warm.
Then he returned and walked in the house once back and forth, and went up and stretched himself on him; and the lad sneezed seven times and the lad opened his eyes.35 Then he returned, and walked in the house to and fro; and went up, and stretched himself upon him: and the child sneezed seven times, and the child opened his eyes.35 Elisha got up, walked across the room and came back, and then got back on the bed and crouched over him. The boy sneezed seven times and opened his eyes.35 Then he returned, and walked in the house once back and forth; and went up, and stretched himself on him. Then the child sneezed seven times, and the child opened his eyes.35 And he returned, and walked in the house to and fro; and went up, and bent over him. And the lad sneezed seven times, and the lad opened his eyes.

He called Gehazi and said, "Call this Shunammite." So he called her. And when she came in to him, he said, "Take up your son."36 And he called Gehazi, and said, Call this Shunammite. So he called her. And when she was come in unto him, he said, Take up thy son.36 Elisha called Gehazi and said, "Call the Shunem woman." Gehazi called her. When she came to him, he said, "Take your son."36 He called Gehazi, and said, "Call this Shunammite!" So he called her. When she had come in to him, he said, "Take up your son."36 And he called Gehazi, and said, Call this Shunammite. And he called her; and she came to him. And he said, Take up thy son.
Then she went in and fell at his feet and bowed herself to the ground, and she took up her son and went out.37 Then she went in, and fell at his feet, and bowed herself to the ground, and took up her son, and went out.37 Then she immediately bowed at his feet. She took her son and left.37 Then she went in, and fell at his feet, and bowed herself to the ground; and she took up her son, and went out.37 And she came and fell at his feet, and bowed herself to the ground; and she took up her son, and went out.
The Poisonous Stew
When Elisha returned to Gilgal, there was a famine in the land. As the sons of the prophets were sitting before him, he said to his servant, "Put on the large pot and boil stew for the sons of the prophets."38 And Elisha came again to Gilgal: and there was a dearth in the land; and the sons of the prophets were sitting before him: and he said unto his servant, Set on the great pot, and seethe pottage for the sons of the prophets.38 When Elisha went back to Gilgal, there was a famine in the country. [One day,] while the disciples of the prophets were meeting with him, he told his servant, "Put a large pot on the fire, and cook some stew for the disciples of the prophets."38 Elisha came again to Gilgal. There was a famine in the land; and the sons of the prophets were sitting before him; and he said to his servant, "Set on the great pot, and boil stew for the sons of the prophets."38 And Elisha came again to Gilgal. And there was a famine in the land; and the sons of the prophets were sitting before him. And he said to his servant, Set on the great pot, and boil pottage for the sons of the prophets.
Then one went out into the field to gather herbs, and found a wild vine and gathered from it his lap full of wild gourds, and came and sliced them into the pot of stew, for they did not know what they were.39 And one went out into the field to gather herbs, and found a wild vine, and gathered thereof wild gourds his lap full, and came and shred them into the pot of pottage: for they knew them not.39 One of them went into the field to gather vegetables and found a wild vine. He filled his clothes with wild gourds. Then he cut them into the pot of stew without knowing what they were.39 One went out into the field to gather herbs, and found a wild vine, and gathered of it wild gourds his lap full, and came and shred them into the pot of stew; for they didn't recognize them.39 Then one went out into the field to gather herbs, and found a wild vine, and gathered from it his lap full of wild colocynths, and came and shred them into the pot of pottage; for they did not know them.
So they poured it out for the men to eat. And as they were eating of the stew, they cried out and said, "O man of God, there is death in the pot." And they were unable to eat.40 So they poured out for the men to eat. And it came to pass, as they were eating of the pottage, that they cried out, and said, O thou man of God, there is death in the pot. And they could not eat thereof.40 They dished out the food for the men to eat. As they were eating the stew, they cried out, "There's death in the pot, man of God!" So they couldn't eat it.40 So they poured out for the men to eat. It happened, as they were eating of the stew, that they cried out, and said, "Man of God, there is death in the pot!" They could not eat of it.40 And they poured out for the men to eat. And it came to pass, as they were eating of the pottage, that they cried out and said, Man of God, there is death in the pot! And they could not eat it.

But he said, "Now bring meal." He threw it into the pot and said, "Pour it out for the people that they may eat." Then there was no harm in the pot.41 But he said, Then bring meal. And he cast it into the pot; and he said, Pour out for the people, that they may eat. And there was no harm in the pot.41 Elisha said, "Bring some flour." He threw it into the pot and said, "Dish it out for the people to eat." Then there was nothing harmful in the pot.41 But he said, "Then bring meal." He cast it into the pot; and he said, "Pour out for the people, that they may eat." There was no harm in the pot.41 And he said, Then bring meal. And he cast it into the pot, and said, Pour out for the people, that they may eat. And there was no harm in the pot.
Now a man came from Baal-shalishah, and brought the man of God bread of the first fruits, twenty loaves of barley and fresh ears of grain in his sack. And he said, "Give them to the people that they may eat."42 And there came a man from Baalshalisha, and brought the man of God bread of the firstfruits, twenty loaves of barley, and full ears of corn in the husk thereof. And he said, Give unto the people, that they may eat.42 A man from Baal Shalisha brought bread made from the first harvested grain, 20 barley loaves, and fresh grain to the man of God. The man of God said, "Give it to the people to eat."42 A man from Baal Shalishah came, and brought the man of God bread of the first fruits, twenty loaves of barley, and fresh ears of grain in his sack. He said, "Give to the people, that they may eat."42 And there came a man from Baal-shalishah, and brought the man of God bread of the first-fruits, twenty loaves of barley, and fresh ears of corn in his sack. And he said, Give to the people that they may eat.
His attendant said, "What, will I set this before a hundred men?" But he said, "Give them to the people that they may eat, for thus says the LORD, 'They shall eat and have some left over.'"43 And his servitor said, What, should I set this before an hundred men? He said again, Give the people, that they may eat: for thus saith the LORD, They shall eat, and shall leave thereof.43 But his servant asked, "How can I set this in front of a hundred people?" "Give it to the people to eat," the man of God said. "This is what the LORD says: They will eat and even have some left over."43 His servant said, "What, should I set this before a hundred men?" But he said, "Give the people, that they may eat; for thus says Yahweh, 'They will eat, and will have some left over.'"43 And his attendant said, How shall I set this before a hundred men? And he said, Give the people that they may eat; for thus saith Jehovah: They shall eat, and shall have to spare.
So he set it before them, and they ate and had some left over, according to the word of the LORD.44 So he set it before them, and they did eat, and left thereof, according to the word of the LORD.44 The servant set it in front of them. They ate and had some left over, as the LORD had predicted.44 So he set it before them, and they ate, and left some of it, according to the word of Yahweh.44 And he set it before them, and they ate and left thereof, according to the word of Jehovah.
