Jesus’ Birth in Bethlehem
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 Now in those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus, that a census be taken of all the inhabited earth.1 And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed.1 At that time the Emperor Augustus ordered a census of the Roman Empire.1 Now it happened in those days, that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be enrolled.1 But it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus, that a census should be made of all the habitable world.
 This was the first census taken while Quirinius was governor of Syria.2 (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)2 This was the first census taken while Quirinius was governor of Syria.2 This was the first enrollment made when Quirinius was governor of Syria.2 The census itself first took place when Cyrenius had the government of Syria.
 And everyone was on his way to register for the census, each to his own city.3 And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.3 All the people went to register in the cities where their ancestors had lived.3 All went to enroll themselves, everyone to his own city.3 And all went to be inscribed in the census roll, each to his own city:
 Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the city of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David,4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)4 So Joseph went from Nazareth, a city in Galilee, to a Judean city called Bethlehem. Joseph, a descendant of King David, went to Bethlehem because David had been born there.4 Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David;4 and Joseph also went up from Galilee out of the city Nazareth to Judaea, to David's city, the which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David,
 in order to register along with Mary, who was engaged to him, and was with child.5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.5 Joseph went there to register with Mary. She had been promised to him in marriage and was pregnant.5 to enroll himself with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him as wife, being pregnant.5 to be inscribed in the census roll with Mary who was betrothed to him as his wife, she being great with child.

 While they were there, the days were completed for her to give birth.6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.6 While they were in Bethlehem, the time came for Mary to have her child.6 It happened, while they were there, that the day had come that she should give birth.6 And it came to pass, while they were there, the days of her giving birth to her child were fulfilled,
 And she gave birth to her firstborn son; and she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.7 She gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him in strips of cloth and laid him in a manger because there wasn't any room for them in the inn.7 She brought forth her firstborn son, and she wrapped him in bands of cloth, and laid him in a feeding trough, because there was no room for them in the inn.7 and she brought forth her first-born son, and wrapped him up in swaddling-clothes and laid him in the manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
 In the same region there were some shepherds staying out in the fields and keeping watch over their flock by night.8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.8 Shepherds were in the fields near Bethlehem. They were taking turns watching their flock during the night.8 There were shepherds in the same country staying in the field, and keeping watch by night over their flock.8 And there were shepherds in that country abiding without, and keeping watch by night over their flock.
 And an angel of the Lord suddenly stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them; and they were terribly frightened.9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.9 An angel from the Lord suddenly appeared to them. The glory of the Lord filled the area with light, and they were terrified.9 Behold, an angel of the Lord stood by them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.9 And lo, an angel of the Lord was there by them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they feared with great fear.
 But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people;10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.10 The angel said to them, "Don't be afraid! I have good news for you, a message that will fill everyone with joy.10 The angel said to them, "Don't be afraid, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be to all the people.10 And the angel said to them, Fear not, for behold, I announce to you glad tidings of great joy, which shall be to all the people;

 for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.11 Today your Savior, Christ the Lord, was born in David's city.11 For there is born to you, this day, in the city of David, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.11 for to-day a Saviour has been born to you in David's city, who is Christ the Lord.
 "This will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.12 This is how you will recognize him: You will find an infant wrapped in strips of cloth and lying in a manger."12 This is the sign to you: you will find a baby wrapped in strips of cloth, lying in a feeding trough."12 And this is the sign to you: ye shall find a babe wrapped in swaddling-clothes, and lying in a manger.
 And suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying,13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,13 Suddenly, a large army of angels appeared with the angel. They were praising God by saying,13 Suddenly, there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly army praising God, and saying,13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God and saying,
 "Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased."14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.14 "Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those who have his good will!"14 "Glory to God in the highest, on earth peace, good will toward men."14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good pleasure in men.
 When the angels had gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds began saying to one another, "Let us go straight to Bethlehem then, and see this thing that has happened which the Lord has made known to us."15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.15 The angels left them and went back to heaven. The shepherds said to each other, "Let's go to Bethlehem and see what the Lord has told us about."15 It happened, when the angels went away from them into the sky, that the shepherds said one to another, "Let's go to Bethlehem, now, and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us."15 And it came to pass, as the angels departed from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, Let us make our way then now as far as Bethlehem, and let us see this thing that is come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.

 So they came in a hurry and found their way to Mary and Joseph, and the baby as He lay in the manger.16 And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.16 They went quickly and found Mary and Joseph with the baby, who was lying in a manger.16 They came with haste, and found both Mary and Joseph, and the baby was lying in the feeding trough.16 And they came with haste, and found both Mary and Joseph, and the babe lying in the manger;
 When they had seen this, they made known the statement which had been told them about this Child.17 And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.17 When they saw the child, they repeated what they had been told about him.17 When they saw it, they publicized widely the saying which was spoken to them about this child.17 and having seen it they made known about the country the thing which had been said to them concerning this child.
 And all who heard it wondered at the things which were told them by the shepherds.18 And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.18 Everyone who heard the shepherds' story was amazed.18 All who heard it wondered at the things which were spoken to them by the shepherds.18 And all who heard it wondered at the things said to them by the shepherds.
 But Mary treasured all these things, pondering them in her heart.19 But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.19 Mary treasured all these things in her heart and always thought about them.19 But Mary kept all these sayings, pondering them in her heart.19 But Mary kept all these things in her mind, pondering them in her heart.
 The shepherds went back, glorifying and praising God for all that they had heard and seen, just as had been told them.20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.20 As the shepherds returned to their flock, they glorified and praised God for everything they had seen and heard. Everything happened the way the angel had told them.20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, just as it was told them.20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all things which they had heard and seen, as it had been said to them.

 And when eight days had passed, before His circumcision, His name was then called Jesus, the name given by the angel before He was conceived in the womb.21 And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb.21 Eight days after his birth, the child was circumcised and named Jesus. This was the name the angel had given him before his mother became pregnant.21 When eight days were fulfilled for the circumcision of the child, his name was called Jesus, which was given by the angel before he was conceived in the womb.21 And when eight days were fulfilled for circumcising him, his name was called Jesus, which was the name given by the angel before he had been conceived in the womb.

 And he came in the Spirit into the temple; and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to carry out for Him the custom of the Law,27 And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law,27 Moved by the Spirit, Simeon went into the temple courtyard. 42 And when He became twelve, they went up there according to the custom of the Feast;42 And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast.42 When he was 12 years old, they went as usual.42 When he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem according to the custom of the feast,42 And when he was twelve years old, and they went up to Jerusalem according to the custom of the feast
 and as they were returning, after spending the full number of days, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem. But His parents were unaware of it,43 And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it.43 When the festival was over, they left for home. The boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but his parents didn't know it.43 and when they had fulfilled the days, as they were returning, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem. Joseph and his mother didn't know it,43 and had completed the days, as they returned, the boy Jesus remained behind in Jerusalem, and his parents knew not of it;

 Then, after three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both listening to them and asking them questions.46 And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.46 Three days later, they found him in the temple courtyard. He was sitting among the teachers, listening to them, and asking them questions.46 It happened after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both listening to them, and asking them questions.46 And it came to pass, after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers and hearing them and asking them questions.

 When they saw Him, they were astonished; and His mother said to Him, "Son, why have You treated us this way? Behold, Your father and I have been anxiously looking for You."48 And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.48 When his parents saw him, they were shocked. His mother asked him, "Son, why have you done this to us? Your father and I have been worried sick looking for you!"48 When they saw him, they were astonished, and his mother said to him, "Son, why have you treated us this way? Behold, your father and I were anxiously looking for you."48 And when they saw him they were amazed: and his mother said to him, Child, why hast thou dealt thus with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee distressed.
 And He said to them, "Why is it that you were looking for Me? Did you not know that I had to be in My Father's house?"49 And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?49 Jesus said to them, "Why were you looking for me? Didn't you realize that I had to be in my Father's house?"49 He said to them, "Why were you looking for me? 50 But they did not understand the statement which He had made to them.50 And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them.50 But they didn't understand what he meant.50 They didn't understand the saying which he spoke to them.50 And they understood not the thing that he said to them.

 And He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and He continued in subjection to them; and His mother treasured all these things in her heart.51 And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.51 Then he returned with them to Nazareth and was obedient to them. His mother treasured all these things in her heart.51 And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth. He was subject to them, and his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.51 And he went down with them and came to Nazareth, and he was in subjection to them.
