NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led around by the Spirit in the wilderness1 And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,1 Jesus was filled with the Holy Spirit as he left the Jordan River. The Spirit led him while he was in the desert,1 Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness1 But Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan, and was led by the Spirit in the wilderness
 for forty days, being tempted by the devil. And He ate nothing during those days, and when they had ended, He became hungry.2 Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.2 where he was tempted by the devil for 40 days. During those days Jesus ate nothing, so when they were over, he was hungry.2 for forty days, being tempted by the devil. He ate nothing in those days. Afterward, when they were completed, he was hungry.2 forty days, tempted of the devil; and in those days he did not eat anything, and when they were finished he hungered.
 And the devil said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread."3 And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread.3 The devil said to him, "If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become a loaf of bread."3 The devil said to him, "If you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread."3 And the devil said to him, If thou be Son of God, speak to this stone, that it become bread.
 And Jesus answered him, "It is written, 'MAN SHALL NOT LIVE ON BREAD ALONE.'"4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.4 Jesus answered him, "Scripture says, 'A person cannot live on bread alone.' " 4 Jesus answered him, saying, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.'"4 And Jesus answered unto him saying, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
 And he led Him up and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.5 And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.5 The devil took him to a high place and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in an instant.5 The devil, leading him up on a high mountain, showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.5 And the devil, leading him up into a high mountain, shewed him all the kingdoms of the habitable world in a moment of time.

 And the devil said to Him, "I will give You all this domain and its glory; for it has been handed over to me, and I give it to whomever I wish.6 And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.6 The devil said to him, "I will give you all the power and glory of these kingdoms. All of it has been given to me, and I give it to anyone I please.6 The devil said to him, "I will give you all this authority, and their glory, for it has been delivered to me; and I give it to whomever I want.6 And the devil said to him, I will give thee all this power, and their glory; for it is given up to me, and to whomsoever I will I give it.
 "Therefore if You worship before me, it shall all be Yours."7 If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.7 So if you will worship me, all this will be yours."7 If you therefore will worship before me, it will all be yours."7 If therefore thou wilt do homage before me, all of it shall be thine.
 Jesus answered him, "It is written, 'YOU SHALL WORSHIP THE LORD YOUR GOD AND SERVE HIM ONLY.'"8 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.8 Jesus answered him, "Scripture says, 'Worship the Lord your God and serve only him.'"8 Jesus answered him, "Get behind me Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the Lord your God, and you shall serve him only.'"8 And Jesus answering him said, It is written, Thou shalt do homage to the Lord thy God, and him alone shalt thou serve.
 And he led Him to Jerusalem and had Him stand on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here;9 And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence:9 Then the devil took him into Jerusalem and had him stand on the highest part of the temple. He said to Jesus, "If you are the Son of God, jump from here!9 He led him to Jerusalem, and set him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, cast yourself down from here,9 And he led him to Jerusalem, and set him on the edge of the temple, and said to him, If thou be Son of God, cast thyself down hence;
 for it is written, 'HE WILL COMMAND HIS ANGELS CONCERNING YOU TO GUARD YOU,'10 For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee:10 Scripture says, 'He will put his angels in charge of you to watch over you carefully.10 for it is written, 'He will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you;'10 for it is written, He shall give charge to his angels concerning thee to keep thee;

 and, 'ON their HANDS THEY WILL BEAR YOU UP, SO THAT YOU WILL NOT STRIKE YOUR FOOT AGAINST A STONE.'"11 And in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.11 They will carry you in their hands so that you never hit your foot against a rock.'"11 and, 'On their hands they will bear you up, lest perhaps you dash your foot against a stone.'"11 and on their hands shall they bear thee, lest in any wise thou strike thy foot against a stone.
 And Jesus answered and said to him, "It is said, 'YOU SHALL NOT PUT THE LORD YOUR GOD TO THE TEST.'"12 And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.12 Jesus answered him, "It has been said, 'Never tempt the Lord your God.' " 12 Jesus answering, said to him, "It has been said, 'You shall not tempt the Lord your God.'"12 And Jesus answering said to him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
 When the devil had finished every temptation, he left Him until an opportune time.13 And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season.13 After the devil had finished tempting Jesus in every possible way, the devil left him until another time.13 When the devil had completed every temptation, he departed from him until another time.13 And the devil, having completed every temptation, departed from him for a time.

 And He began teaching in their synagogues and was praised by all.15 And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.15 He taught in the synagogues, and everyone praised him.15 He taught in their synagogues, being glorified by all.15 and he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.

 And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up; and as was His custom, He entered the synagogue on the Sabbath, and stood up to read.16 And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.16 Then Jesus came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up. As usual he went into the synagogue on the day of worship. He stood up to read the lesson.16 He came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up. He entered, as was his custom, into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read.16 And he came to Nazareth, where he was brought up; and he entered, according to his custom, into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up to read.
 And the book of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him. And He opened the book and found the place where it was written,17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,17 The attendant gave him the book of the prophet Isaiah. He opened it and found the place where it read:17 The book of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. He opened the book, and found the place where it was written,17 And the book of the prophet Esaias was given to him; and having unrolled the book he found the place where it was written,
 "THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS UPON ME, BECAUSE HE ANOINTED ME TO PREACH THE GOSPEL TO THE POOR. HE HAS SENT ME TO PROCLAIM RELEASE TO THE CAPTIVES, AND RECOVERY OF SIGHT TO THE BLIND, TO SET FREE THOSE WHO ARE OPPRESSED,18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,18 "The Spirit of the Lord is with me. He has anointed me to tell the Good News to the poor. He has sent me to announce forgiveness to the prisoners of sin and the restoring of sight to the blind, to forgive those who have been shattered by sin, 18 "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim release to the captives, recovering of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed,18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach glad tidings to the poor; he has sent me to preach to captives deliverance, and to the blind sight, to send forth the crushed delivered,
 TO PROCLAIM THE FAVORABLE YEAR OF THE LORD."19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.19 to announce the year of the Lord's favor."19 and to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord."19 to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
 And He closed the book, gave it back to the attendant and sat down; and the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on Him.20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.20 Jesus closed the book, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down. Everyone in the synagogue watched him closely.20 He closed the book, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down. The eyes of all in the synagogue were fastened on him.20 And having rolled up the book, when he had delivered it up to the attendant, he sat down; and the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed upon him.

 And He began to say to them, "Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing."21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.21 Then he said to them, "This passage came true today when you heard me read it."21 He began to tell them, "Today, this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing."21 And he began to say to them, To-day this scripture is fulfilled in your ears.
 And all were speaking well of Him, and wondering at the gracious words which were falling from His lips; and they were saying, "Is this not Joseph's son?"22 And all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this Joseph's son?22 All the people spoke well of him. They were amazed to hear the gracious words flowing from his lips. They said, "Isn't this Joseph's son?"22 All testified about him, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth, and they said, "Isn't this Joseph's son?"22 And all bore witness to him, and wondered at the words of grace which were coming out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this the son of Joseph?
 And He said to them, "No doubt you will quote this proverb to Me, 'Physician, heal yourself! Whatever we heard was done at Capernaum, do here in your hometown as well.'"23 And he said unto them, Ye will surely say unto me this proverb, Physician, heal thyself: whatsoever we have heard done in Capernaum, do also here in thy country.23 So he said to them, "You'll probably quote this proverb to me, 'Doctor, cure yourself!' and then say to me, 'Do all the things in your hometown that we've heard you've done in Capernaum.'"23 He said to them, "Doubtless you will tell me this parable, 'Physician, heal yourself! Whatever we have heard done at Capernaum, do also here in your hometown.'"23 And he said to them, Ye will surely say to me this parable, Physician, heal thyself; whatsoever we have heard has taken place in Capernaum do here also in thine own country.
 And He said, "Truly I say to you, no prophet is welcome in his hometown.24 And he said, Verily I say unto you, No prophet is accepted in his own country.24 Then Jesus added, "I can guarantee this truth: A prophet isn't accepted in his hometown.24 He said, "Most certainly I tell you, no prophet is acceptable in his hometown.24 And he said, Verily I say to you, that no prophet is acceptable in his own country.
 "But I say to you in truth, there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the sky was shut up for three years and six months, when a great famine came over all the land;25 But I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elias, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land;25 "I can guarantee this truth: There were many widows in Israel in Elijah's time. It had not rained for three-and-a-half years, and the famine was severe everywhere in the country.25 But truly I tell you, there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the sky was shut up three years and six months, when a great famine came over all the land.25 But of a truth I say to you, There were many widows in Israel in the days of Elias, when the heaven was shut up for three years and six months, so that a great famine came upon all the land,

 and yet Elijah was sent to none of them, but only to Zarephath, in the land of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow.26 But unto none of them was Elias sent, save unto Sarepta, a city of Sidon, unto a woman that was a widow.26 But God didn't send Elijah to anyone except a widow at Zarephath in the territory of Sidon.26 Elijah was sent to none of them, except to Zarephath, in the land of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow.26 and to none of them was Elias sent but to Sarepta of Sidonia, to a woman that was a widow.
 "And there were many lepers in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, but only Naaman the Syrian."27 And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Eliseus the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, saving Naaman the Syrian.27 There were also many people with skin diseases in Israel in the prophet Elisha's time. But God cured no one except Naaman from Syria."27 There were many lepers in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet, yet not one of them was cleansed, except Naaman, the Syrian."27 And there were many lepers in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet, and none of them was cleansed but Naaman the Syrian.
 And all the people in the synagogue were filled with rage as they heard these things;28 And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath,28 Everyone in the synagogue became furious when they heard this.28 They were all filled with wrath in the synagogue, as they heard these things.28 And they were all filled with rage in the synagogue, hearing these things;
 and they got up and drove Him out of the city, and led Him to the brow of the hill on which their city had been built, in order to throw Him down the cliff.29 And rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong.29 Their city was built on a hill with a cliff. So they got up, forced Jesus out of the city, and led him to the cliff. They intended to throw him off of it.29 They rose up, threw him out of the city, and led him to the brow of the hill that their city was built on, that they might throw him off the cliff.29 and rising up they cast him forth out of the city, and led him up to the brow of the mountain upon which their city was built, so that they might throw him down the precipice;
 But passing through their midst, He went His way.30 But he passing through the midst of them went his way,30 But Jesus walked right by them and went away.30 But he, passing through the midst of them, went his way.30 but he, passing through the midst of them, went his way,

 And He came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and He was teaching them on the Sabbath;31 And came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and taught them on the sabbath days.31 Jesus went to Capernaum, a city in Galilee, and taught them on a day of worship.31 He came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee. He was teaching them on the Sabbath day,31 and descended to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and taught them on the sabbaths.
 and they were amazed at His teaching, for His message was with authority.32 And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power.32 The people were amazed at his teachings because he spoke with authority.32 and they were astonished at his teaching, for his word was with authority.32 And they were astonished at his doctrine, for his word was with authority.
 In the synagogue there was a man possessed by the spirit of an unclean demon, and he cried out with a loud voice,33 And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice,33 In the synagogue was a man possessed by a spirit, an evil demon. He shouted very loudly,33 In the synagogue there was a man who had a spirit of an unclean demon, and he cried out with a loud voice,33 And there was in the synagogue a man having a spirit of an unclean demon, and he cried with a loud voice,
 "Let us alone! What business do we have with each other, Jesus of Nazareth? Have You come to destroy us? I know who You are-- the Holy One of God!"34 Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God.34 "Oh, no! What do you want with us, Jesus from Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are-the Holy One of God!"34 saying, "Ah! what have we to do with you, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know you who you are: the Holy One of God!"34 saying, Eh! what have we to do with thee, Jesus, Nazarene? hast thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.
 But Jesus rebuked him, saying, "Be quiet and come out of him!" And when the demon had thrown him down in the midst of the people, he came out of him without doing him any harm.35 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not.35 Jesus ordered the spirit, "Keep quiet, and come out of him!" The demon threw the man down in the middle of the synagogue and came out without hurting him.35 Jesus rebuked him, saying, "Be silent, and come out of him!" When the demon had thrown him down in their midst, he came out of him, having done him no harm.35 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out from him. And the demon, having thrown him down into the midst, came out from him without doing him any injury.

 And amazement came upon them all, and they began talking with one another saying, "What is this message? For with authority and power He commands the unclean spirits and they come out."36 And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word is this! for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out.36 Everyone was stunned. They said to one another, "What kind of command is this? With authority and power he gives orders to evil spirits, and they come out."36 Amazement came on all, and they spoke together, one with another, saying, "What is this word? For with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out!"36 And astonishment came upon all, and they spoke to one another, saying, What word is this? for with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out.
 And the report about Him was spreading into every locality in the surrounding district.37 And the fame of him went out into every place of the country round about.37 So news about him spread to every place throughout the surrounding region.37 News about him went out into every place of the surrounding region.37 And a rumour went out into every place of the country round concerning him.
Many Are Healed
 Then He got up and left the synagogue, and entered Simon's home. Now Simon's mother-in-law was suffering from a high fever, and they asked Him to help her.38 And he arose out of the synagogue, and entered into Simon's house. And Simon's wife's mother was taken with a great fever; and they besought him for her.38 Jesus left the synagogue and went to Simon's house. Simon's mother-in-law was sick with a high fever. They asked Jesus to help her.38 He rose up from the synagogue, and entered into Simon's house. Simon's mother-in-law was afflicted with a great fever, and they begged him for her.38 And rising up out of the synagogue, he entered into the house of Simon. But Simon's mother-in-law was suffering under a bad fever; and they asked him for her.
 And standing over her, He rebuked the fever, and it left her; and she immediately got up and waited on them.39 And he stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her: and immediately she arose and ministered unto them.39 He bent over her, ordered the fever to leave, and it went away. She got up immediately and prepared a meal for them.39 He stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her. Immediately she rose up and served them.39 And standing over her, he rebuked the fever, and it left her; and forthwith standing up she served them.
 While the sun was setting, all those who had any who were sick with various diseases brought them to Him; and laying His hands on each one of them, He was healing them.40 Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.40 When the sun was setting, everyone who had friends suffering from various diseases brought them to him. He placed his hands on each of them and cured them.40 When the sun was setting, all those who had any sick with various diseases brought them to him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.40 And when the sun went down, all, as many as had persons sick with divers diseases, brought them to him, and having laid his hands on every one of them, he healed them;

 Demons also were coming out of many, shouting, "You are the Son of God!" But rebuking them, He would not allow them to speak, because they knew Him to be the Christ.41 And devils also came out of many, crying out, and saying, Thou art Christ the Son of God. And he rebuking them suffered them not to speak: for they knew that he was Christ.41 Demons came out of many people, shouting, "You are the Son of God!" But Jesus ordered them not to speak. After all, they knew he was the Messiah.41 Demons also came out from many, crying out, and saying, "You are the Christ, the Son of God!" Rebuking them, he didn't allow them to speak, because they knew that he was the Christ.41 and demons also went out from many, crying out and saying, Thou art the Son of God. And rebuking them, he suffered them not to speak, because they knew him to be the Christ.
 When day came, Jesus left and went to a secluded place; and the crowds were searching for Him, and came to Him and tried to keep Him from going away from them.42 And when it was day, he departed and went into a desert place: and the people sought him, and came unto him, and stayed him, that he should not depart from them.42 In the morning he went to a place where he could be alone. The crowds searched for him. When they came to him, they tried to keep him from leaving.42 When it was day, he departed and went into an uninhabited place, and the multitudes looked for him, and came to him, and held on to him, so that he wouldn't go away from them.42 And when it was day he went out, and went into a desert place, and the crowds sought after him, and came up to him, and would have kept him back that he should not go from them.
 But He said to them, "I must preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also, for I was sent for this purpose."43 And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent.43 But he said to them, "I have to tell the Good News about the kingdom of God in other cities also. That's what I was sent to do."43 But he said to them, "I must preach the good news of the Kingdom of God to the other cities also. For this reason I have been sent."43 But he said to them, I must needs announce the glad tidings of the kingdom of God to the other cities also, for for this I have been sent forth.
 So He kept on preaching in the synagogues of Judea.44 And he preached in the synagogues of Galilee.44 So he spread his message in the synagogues of Judea. 44 He was preaching in the synagogues of Galilee.44 And he was preaching in the synagogues of Galilee.
