The Gerasene Demoniac
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 They came to the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gerasenes.1 And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.1 They arrived in the territory of the Gerasenes on the other side of the Sea of Galilee.1 They came to the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.1 And they came to the other side of the sea, to the country of the Gadarenes.
 When He got out of the boat, immediately a man from the tombs with an unclean spirit met Him,2 And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,2 As Jesus stepped out of the boat, a man came out of the tombs and met him. The man was controlled by an evil spirit2 When he had come out of the boat, immediately a man with an unclean spirit met him out of the tombs.2 And immediately on his going out of the ship there met him out of the tombs a man possessed by an unclean spirit,
 and he had his dwelling among the tombs. And no one was able to bind him anymore, even with a chain;3 Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains:3 and lived among the tombs. No one could restrain him any longer, not even with a chain.3 He lived in the tombs. Nobody could bind him any more, not even with chains,3 who had his dwelling in the tombs; and no one was able to bind him, not even with chains;
 because he had often been bound with shackles and chains, and the chains had been torn apart by him and the shackles broken in pieces, and no one was strong enough to subdue him.4 Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him.4 He had often been chained hand and foot. However, he snapped the chains off his hands and broke the chains from his feet. No one could control him.4 because he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been torn apart by him, and the fetters broken in pieces. Nobody had the strength to tame him.4 because he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been torn asunder by him, and the fetters were shattered; and no one was able to subdue him.
 Constantly, night and day, he was screaming among the tombs and in the mountains, and gashing himself with stones.5 And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones.5 Night and day he was among the tombs and on the mountainsides screaming and cutting himself with stones.5 Always, night and day, in the tombs and in the mountains, he was crying out, and cutting himself with stones.5 And continually night and day, in the tombs and in the mountains, he was crying and cutting himself with stones.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 Seeing Jesus from a distance, he ran up and bowed down before Him;6 But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him,6 The man saw Jesus at a distance. So he ran [to Jesus], bowed down in front of him,6 When he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and bowed down to him,6 But seeing Jesus from afar off, he ran and did him homage,
 and shouting with a loud voice, he said, "What business do we have with each other, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I implore You by God, do not torment me!"7 And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.7 and shouted, "Why are you bothering me now, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? Swear to God that you won't torture me."7 and crying out with a loud voice, he said, "What have I to do with you, Jesus, you Son of the Most High God? I adjure you by God, don't torment me."7 and crying with a loud voice he says, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I adjure thee by God, torment me not.
 For He had been saying to him, "Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!"8 For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.8 He shouted this because Jesus said, "You evil spirit, come out of the man."8 For he said to him, "Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!"8 For he said to him, Come forth, unclean spirit, out of the man.
 And He was asking him, "What is your name?" And he said to Him, "My name is Legion; for we are many."9 And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.9 Jesus asked him, "What is your name?" He told Jesus, "My name is Legion [Six Thousand], because there are many of us."9 He asked him, "What is your name?" He said to him, "My name is Legion, for we are many."9 And he asked him, What is thy name? And he says to him, Legion is my name, because we are many.
 And he began to implore Him earnestly not to send them out of the country.10 And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country.10 He begged Jesus not to send them out of the territory.10 He begged him much that he would not send them away out of the country.10 And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 Now there was a large herd of swine feeding nearby on the mountain.11 Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding.11 A large herd of pigs was feeding on a mountainside nearby.11 Now on the mountainside there was a great herd of pigs feeding.11 Now there was there just at the mountain a great herd of swine feeding;
 The demons implored Him, saying, "Send us into the swine so that we may enter them."12 And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.12 The demons begged him, "Send us into the pigs! Let us enter them!"12 All the demons begged him, saying, "Send us into the pigs, that we may enter into them."12 and they besought him, saying, Send us into the swine that we may enter into them.
 Jesus gave them permission. And coming out, the unclean spirits entered the swine; and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the sea, about two thousand of them; and they were drowned in the sea.13 And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea.13 Jesus let them do this. The evil spirits came out of the man and went into the pigs. The herd of about two thousand pigs rushed down the cliff into the sea and drowned.13 At once Jesus gave them permission. The unclean spirits came out and entered into the pigs. The herd of about two thousand rushed down the steep bank into the sea, and they were drowned in the sea.13 And Jesus immediately allowed them. And the unclean spirits going out entered into the swine, and the herd rushed down the steep slope, into the sea (about two thousand), and were choked in the sea.
 Their herdsmen ran away and reported it in the city and in the country. And the people came to see what it was that had happened.14 And they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done.14 Those who took care of the pigs ran away. In the city and countryside they reported everything that had happened. So the people came to see what had happened.14 Those who fed them fled, and told it in the city and in the country. The people came to see what it was that had happened.14 And those that were feeding them fled and reported it in the city and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that had taken place.
 They came to Jesus and observed the man who had been demon-possessed sitting down, clothed and in his right mind, the very man who had had the "legion"; and they became frightened.15 And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.15 They came to Jesus and saw the man who had been possessed by the legion of demons. The man was sitting there dressed and in his right mind. The people were frightened.15 They came to Jesus, and saw him who had been possessed by demons sitting, clothed, and in his right mind, even him who had the legion; and they were afraid.15 And they come to Jesus, and they see the possessed of demons sitting and clothed and sensible, him that had had the legion: and they were afraid.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 Those who had seen it described to them how it had happened to the demon-possessed man, and all about the swine.16 And they that saw it told them how it befell to him that was possessed with the devil, and also concerning the swine.16 Those who saw this told what had happened to the demon-possessed man and the pigs.16 Those who saw it declared to them how it happened to him who was possessed by demons, and about the pigs.16 And they that had seen it related to them how it had happened to the man possessed by demons, and concerning the swine.
 And they began to implore Him to leave their region.17 And they began to pray him to depart out of their coasts.17 Then the people began to beg Jesus to leave their territory.17 They began to beg him to depart from their region.17 And they began to beg him to depart from their coasts.
 As He was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed was imploring Him that he might accompany Him.18 And when he was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him.18 As Jesus stepped into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed begged him, "Let me stay with you."18 As he was entering into the boat, he who had been possessed by demons begged him that he might be with him.18 And as he went on board ship, the man that had been possessed by demons besought him that he might be with him.
 And He did not let him, but He said to him, "Go home to your people and report to them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He had mercy on you."19 Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.19 But Jesus would not allow it. Instead, he told the man, "Go home to your family, and tell them how much the Lord has done for you and how merciful he has been to you."19 He didn't allow him, but said to him, "Go to your house, to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how he had mercy on you."19 And he suffered him not, but says to him, Go to thine home to thine own people, and tell them how great things the Lord has done for thee, and has had mercy on thee.
 And he went away and began to proclaim in Decapolis what great things Jesus had done for him; and everyone was amazed.20 And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel.20 So the man left. He began to tell how much Jesus had done for him in the Ten Cities. Everyone was amazed. 20 He went his way, and began to proclaim in Decapolis how Jesus had done great things for him, and everyone marveled.20 And he went away and began to proclaim in the Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him; and all wondered.

 When Jesus had crossed over again in the boat to the other side, a large crowd gathered around Him; and so He stayed by the seashore.21 And when Jesus was passed over again by ship unto the other side, much people gathered unto him: and he was nigh unto the sea.21 Jesus again crossed to the other side of the Sea of Galilee in a boat. A large crowd gathered around him by the seashore.21 When Jesus had crossed back over in the boat to the other side, a great multitude was gathered to him; and he was by the sea.21 And Jesus having passed over in the ship again to the other side, a great crowd gathered to him; and he was by the sea.
 One of the synagogue officials named Jairus came up, and on seeing Him, fell at His feet22 And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet,22 A synagogue leader named Jairus also arrived. When he saw Jesus, he quickly bowed down in front of him.22 Behold, one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name, came; and seeing him, he fell at his feet,22 And behold there comes one of the rulers of the synagogue, by name Jairus, and seeing him, falls down at his feet;
 and implored Him earnestly, saying, "My little daughter is at the point of death; please come and lay Your hands on her, so that she will get well and live."23 And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live.23 He begged Jesus, "My little daughter is dying. Come, lay your hands on her so that she may get well and live."23 and begged him much, saying, "My little daughter is at the point of death. Please come and lay your hands on her, that she may be made healthy, and live."23 and he besought him much, saying, My little daughter is at extremity; I pray that thou shouldest come and lay thy hands upon her so that she may be healed, and may live.
 And He went off with him; and a large crowd was following Him and pressing in on Him.24 And Jesus went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him.24 Jesus went with the man. A huge crowd followed Jesus and pressed him on every side.24 He went with him, and a great multitude followed him, and they pressed upon him on all sides.24 And he went with him, and a large crowd followed him and pressed on him.
 A woman who had had a hemorrhage for twelve years,25 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,25 In the crowd was a woman who had been suffering from chronic bleeding for twelve years.25 A certain woman, who had an issue of blood for twelve years,25 And a certain woman who had had a flux of blood twelve years,

 and had endured much at the hands of many physicians, and had spent all that she had and was not helped at all, but rather had grown worse--26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,26 Although she had been under the care of many doctors and had spent all her money, she had not been helped at all. Actually, she had become worse.26 and had suffered many things by many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was no better, but rather grew worse,26 and had suffered much under many physicians, and had spent everything she had and had found no advantage from it, but had rather got worse,
 after hearing about Jesus, she came up in the crowd behind Him and touched His cloak.27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.27 Since she had heard about Jesus, she came from behind in the crowd and touched his clothes.27 having heard the things concerning Jesus, came up behind him in the crowd, and touched his clothes.27 having heard concerning Jesus, came in the crowd behind and touched his clothes;
 For she thought, "If I just touch His garments, I will get well."28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.28 She said, "If I can just touch his clothes, I'll get well."28 For she said, "If I just touch his clothes, I will be made well."28 for she said, If I shall touch but his clothes I shall be healed.
 Immediately the flow of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of her affliction.29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.29 Her bleeding stopped immediately. She felt cured from her illness.29 Immediately the flow of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of her affliction.29 And immediately her fountain of blood was dried up, and she knew in her body that she was cured from the scourge.
 Immediately Jesus, perceiving in Himself that the power proceeding from Him had gone forth, turned around in the crowd and said, "Who touched My garments?"30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?30 At that moment Jesus felt power had gone out of him. He turned around in the crowd and asked, "Who touched my clothes?"30 Immediately Jesus, perceiving in himself that the power had gone out from him, turned around in the crowd, and asked, "Who touched my clothes?"30 And immediately Jesus, knowing in himself the power that had gone out of him, turning round in the crowd said, Who has touched my clothes?
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 And His disciples said to Him, "You see the crowd pressing in on You, and You say, 'Who touched Me?'"31 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?31 His disciples said to him, "How can you ask, 'Who touched me,' when you see the crowd pressing you on all sides?"31 His disciples said to him, "You see the multitude pressing against you, and you say, 'Who touched me?'"31 And his disciples said to him, Thou seest the crowd pressing on thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
 And He looked around to see the woman who had done this.32 And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.32 But he kept looking around to see the woman who had done this.32 He looked around to see her who had done this thing.32 And he looked round about to see her who had done this.
 But the woman fearing and trembling, aware of what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth.33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.33 The woman trembled with fear. She knew what had happened to her. So she quickly bowed in front of him and told him the whole truth.33 But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had been done to her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.33 But the woman, frightened and trembling, knowing what had taken place in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.
 And He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace and be healed of your affliction."34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.34 Jesus told her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace! Be cured from your illness."34 He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be cured of your disease."34 And he said to her, Daughter, thy faith has healed thee; go in peace, and be well of thy scourge.
 While He was still speaking, they came from the house of the synagogue official, saying, "Your daughter has died; why trouble the Teacher anymore?"35 While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further?35 While Jesus was still speaking to her, some people came from the synagogue leader's home. They told the synagogue leader, "Your daughter has died. Why bother the teacher anymore?"35 While he was still speaking, people came from the synagogue ruler's house saying, "Your daughter is dead. Why bother the Teacher any more?"35 While he was yet speaking, they come from the ruler of the synagogue's house, saying, Thy daughter has died, why troublest thou the teacher any further?
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 But Jesus, overhearing what was being spoken, said to the synagogue official, "Do not be afraid any longer, only believe."36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.36 When Jesus overheard what they said, he told the synagogue leader, "Don't be afraid! Just believe."36 But Jesus, when he heard the message spoken, immediately said to the ruler of the synagogue, "Don't be afraid, only believe."36 But Jesus immediately, having heard the word spoken, says to the ruler of the synagogue, Fear not; only believe.
 And He allowed no one to accompany Him, except Peter and James and John the brother of James.37 And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James.37 Jesus allowed no one to go with him except Peter and the two brothers James and John.37 He allowed no one to follow him, except Peter, James, and John the brother of James.37 And he suffered no one to accompany him save Peter and James, and John the brother of James.
 They came to the house of the synagogue official; and He saw a commotion, and people loudly weeping and wailing.38 And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly.38 When they came to the home of the synagogue leader, Jesus saw a noisy crowd there. People were crying and sobbing loudly.38 He came to the synagogue ruler's house, and he saw an uproar, weeping, and great wailing.38 And he comes to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and sees the tumult, and people weeping and wailing greatly.
 And entering in, He said to them, "Why make a commotion and weep? The child has not died, but is asleep."39 And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.39 When he came into the house, he asked them, "Why are you making so much noise and crying? The child isn't dead. She's just sleeping."39 When he had entered in, he said to them, "Why do you make an uproar and weep? The child is not dead, but is asleep."39 And entering in he says to them, Why do ye make a tumult and weep? the child has not died, but sleeps.
 They began laughing at Him. But putting them all out, He took along the child's father and mother and His own companions, and entered the room where the child was.40 And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying.40 They laughed at him. So he made all of them go outside. Then he took the child's father, mother, and his three disciples and went to the child.40 They ridiculed him. But he, having put them all out, took the father of the child, her mother, and those who were with him, and went in where the child was lying.40 And they derided him. But he, having put them all out, takes with him the father of the child, and the mother, and those that were with him, and enters in where the child was lying.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 Taking the child by the hand, He said to her, "Talitha kum!" (which translated means, "Little girl, I say to you, get up!").41 And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise.41 Jesus took the child's hand and said to her, "Talitha, koum!" which means, "Little girl, I'm telling you to get up!"41 Taking the child by the hand, he said to her, "Talitha cumi!" which means, being interpreted, "Girl, I tell you, get up!"41 And having laid hold of the hand of the child, he says to her, Talitha koumi, which is, interpreted, Damsel, I say to thee, Arise.
 Immediately the girl got up and began to walk, for she was twelve years old. And immediately they were completely astounded.42 And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment.42 The girl got up at once and started to walk. (She was twelve years old.) They were astonished.42 Immediately the girl rose up and walked, for she was twelve years old. They were amazed with great amazement.42 And immediately the damsel arose and walked, for she was twelve years old. And they were astonished with great astonishment.
 And He gave them strict orders that no one should know about this, and He said that something should be given her to eat.43 And he charged them straitly that no man should know it; and commanded that something should be given her to eat.43 Jesus ordered them not to let anyone know about this. He also told them to give the little girl something to eat.43 He strictly ordered them that no one should know this, and commanded that something should be given to her to eat.43 And he charged them much that no one should know this; and he desired that something should be given her to eat.
