John the Baptist Beheaded
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
At that time Herod the tetrarch heard the news about Jesus,1 At that time Herod the tetrarch heard of the fame of Jesus,1 At that time Herod, ruler of Galilee, heard the news about Jesus.1 At that time, Herod the tetrarch heard the report concerning Jesus,1 At that time Herod the tetrarch heard of the fame of Jesus,
and said to his servants, "This is John the Baptist; he has risen from the dead, and that is why miraculous powers are at work in him."2 And said unto his servants, This is John the Baptist; he is risen from the dead; and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in him.2 He said to his officials, "This is John the Baptizer! He has come back to life. That's why he has the power to perform these miracles."2 and said to his servants, "This is John the Baptizer. He is risen from the dead. That is why these powers work in him."2 and said to his servants, This is John the baptist: he is risen from the dead, and because of this these works of power display their force in him.
For when Herod had John arrested, he bound him and put him in prison because of Herodias, the wife of his brother Philip.3 For Herod had laid hold on John, and bound him, and put him in prison for Herodias' sake, his brother Philip's wife.3 Herod had arrested John, tied him up, and put him in prison. Herod did this for Herodias, the wife of his brother Philip.3 For Herod had laid hold of John, and bound him, and put him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip's wife.3 For Herod had seized John, and had bound him and put him in prison on account of Herodias the wife of Philip his brother.
For John had been saying to him, "It is not lawful for you to have her."4 For John said unto him, It is not lawful for thee to have her.4 John had been telling Herod, "It's not right for you to be married to her."4 For John said to him, "It is not lawful for you to have her."4 For John said to him, It is not lawful for thee to have her.
Although Herod wanted to put him to death, he feared the crowd, because they regarded John as a prophet.5 And when he would have put him to death, he feared the multitude, because they counted him as a prophet.5 So Herod wanted to kill John. However, he was afraid of the people because they thought John was a prophet.5 When he would have put him to death, he feared the multitude, because they counted him as a prophet.5 And while desiring to kill him, he feared the crowd, because they held him for a prophet.

 But when Herod's birthday came, the daughter of Herodias danced before them and pleased Herod,6 But when Herod's birthday was kept, the daughter of Herodias danced before them, and pleased Herod.6 When Herod celebrated his birthday, Herodias' daughter danced for his guests. Herod was so delighted with her that6 But when Herod's birthday came, the daughter of Herodias danced among them and pleased Herod.6 But when Herod's birthday was celebrated, the daughter of Herodias danced before them, and pleased Herod;
so much that he promised with an oath to give her whatever she asked.7 Whereupon he promised with an oath to give her whatsoever she would ask.7 he swore he would give her anything she wanted.7 Whereupon he promised with an oath to give her whatever she should ask.7 whereupon he promised with oath to give her whatsoever she should ask.
Having been prompted by her mother, she said, "Give me here on a platter the head of John the Baptist."8 And she, being before instructed of her mother, said, Give me here John Baptist's head in a charger.8 Urged by her mother, she said, "Give me the head of John the Baptizer on a platter."8 She, being prompted by her mother, said, "Give me here on a platter the head of John the Baptizer."8 But she, being set on by her mother, says, Give me here upon a dish the head of John the baptist.
Although he was grieved, the king commanded it to be given because of his oaths, and because of his dinner guests.9 And the king was sorry: nevertheless for the oath's sake, and them which sat with him at meat, he commanded it to be given her.9 The king regretted his promise. But because of his oath and his guests, he ordered that her wish be granted.9 The king was grieved, but for the sake of his oaths, and of those who sat at the table with him, he commanded it to be given,9 And the king was grieved; but on account of the oaths, and those lying at table with him, he commanded it to be given.
 He sent and had John beheaded in the prison.10 And he sent, and beheaded John in the prison.10 He had John's head cut off in prison.10 and he sent and beheaded John in the prison.10 And he sent and beheaded John in the prison;

And his head was brought on a platter and given to the girl, and she brought it to her mother.11 And his head was brought in a charger, and given to the damsel: and she brought it to her mother.11 So the head was brought on a platter and given to the girl, who took it to her mother.11 His head was brought on a platter, and given to the young lady: and she brought it to her mother.11 and his head was brought upon a dish, and was given to the damsel, and she carried it to her mother.
His disciples came and took away the body and buried it; and they went and reported to Jesus.12 And his disciples came, and took up the body, and buried it, and went and told Jesus.12 John's disciples came for the body and buried it. Then they went to tell Jesus.12 His disciples came, and took the body, and buried it; and they went and told Jesus.12 And his disciples came and took the body and buried it, and came and brought word to Jesus.
Five Thousand Fed
Now when Jesus heard about John, He withdrew from there in a boat to a secluded place by Himself; and when the people heard of this, they followed Him on foot from the cities.13 When Jesus heard of it, he departed thence by ship into a desert place apart: and when the people had heard thereof, they followed him on foot out of the cities.13 When Jesus heard about John, he left in a boat and went to a place where he could be alone. The crowds heard about this and followed him on foot from the cities.13 Now when Jesus heard this, he withdrew from there in a boat, to a deserted place apart. When the multitudes heard it, they followed him on foot from the cities.13 And Jesus, having heard it, went away thence by ship to a desert place apart. And the crowds having heard of it followed him on foot from the cities.
When He went ashore, He saw a large crowd, and felt compassion for them and healed their sick.14 And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.14 When Jesus got out of the boat, he saw a large crowd. He felt sorry for them and cured their sick people.14 Jesus went out, and he saw a great multitude. He had compassion on them, and healed their sick.14 And going out he saw a great crowd, and was moved with compassion about them, and healed their infirm.
When it was evening, the disciples came to Him and said, "This place is desolate and the hour is already late; so send the crowds away, that they may go into the villages and buy food for themselves."15 And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals.15 In the evening the disciples came to him. They said, "No one lives around here, and it's already late. Send the crowds to the villages to buy food for themselves."15 When evening had come, his disciples came to him, saying, "This place is deserted, and the hour is already late. Send the multitudes away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves food."15 But when even was come, his disciples came to him saying, The place is desert, and much of the day time already gone by; dismiss the crowds, that they may go into the villages and buy food for themselves.

But Jesus said to them, "They do not need to go away; you give them something to eat!"16 But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat.16 Jesus said to them, "They don't need to go away. You give them something to eat."16 But Jesus said to them, "They don't need to go away. You give them something to eat."16 But Jesus said to them, They have no need to go: give ye them to eat.
They said to Him, "We have here only five loaves and two fish."17 And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes.17 They told him, "All we have here are five loaves of bread and two fish."17 They told him, "We only have here five loaves and two fish."17 But they say to him, We have not here save five loaves and two fishes.
And He said, "Bring them here to Me."18 He said, Bring them hither to me.18 Jesus said, "Bring them to me."18 He said, "Bring them here to me."18 And he said, Bring them here to me.
Ordering the people to sit down on the grass, He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up toward heaven, He blessed the food, and breaking the loaves He gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds,19 And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.19 Then he ordered the people to sit down on the grass. After he took the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven and blessed the food. He broke the loaves apart, gave them to the disciples, and they gave them to the people.19 He commanded the multitudes to sit down on the grass; and he took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, broke and gave the loaves to the disciples, and the disciples gave to the multitudes.19 And having commanded the crowds to recline upon the grass, having taken the five loaves and the two fishes, he looked up to heaven, and blessed: and having broken the loaves, he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds.
and they all ate and were satisfied. They picked up what was left over of the broken pieces, twelve full baskets.20 And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full.20 All of them ate as much as they wanted. When they picked up the leftover pieces, they filled twelve baskets.20 They all ate, and were filled. They took up twelve baskets full of that which remained left over from the broken pieces.20 And all ate and were filled, and they took up what was over and above of fragments twelve hand-baskets full.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
There were about five thousand men who ate, besides women and children.21 And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children.21 About five thousand men had eaten. (This number does not include the women and children who had eaten.)21 Those who ate were about five thousand men, besides women and children.21 But those that had eaten were about five thousand men, besides women and children.
Jesus Walks on the Water
Immediately He made the disciples get into the boat and go ahead of Him to the other side, while He sent the crowds away.22 And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.22 Jesus quickly made his disciples get into a boat and cross to the other side ahead of him while he sent the people away.22 Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat, and to go ahead of him to the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.22 And immediately he compelled the disciples to go on board ship, and to go on before him to the other side, until he should have dismissed the crowds.
After He had sent the crowds away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray; and when it was evening, He was there alone.23 And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.23 After sending the people away, he went up a mountain to pray by himself. When evening came, he was there alone.23 After he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into the mountain by himself to pray. When evening had come, he was there alone.23 And having dismissed the crowds, he went up into the mountain apart to pray. And when even was come, he was alone there,
But the boat was already a long distance from the land, battered by the waves; for the wind was contrary.24 But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.24 The boat, now hundreds of yards from shore, was being thrown around by the waves because it was going against the wind.24 But the boat was now in the middle of the sea, distressed by the waves, for the wind was contrary.24 but the ship was already in the middle of the sea tossed by the waves, for the wind was contrary.
And in the fourth watch of the night He came to them, walking on the sea.25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.25 Between three and six o'clock in the morning, he came to them. He was walking on the sea.25 In the fourth watch of the night, Jesus came to them, walking on the sea.25 But in the fourth watch of the night he went off to them, walking on the sea.

When the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were terrified, and said, "It is a ghost!" And they cried out in fear.26 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.26 When the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were terrified. They said, "It's a ghost!" and began to scream because they were afraid.26 When the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, "It's a ghost!" and they cried out for fear.26 And the disciples, seeing him walking on the sea, were troubled, saying, It is an apparition. And they cried out through fear.
But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, "Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid."27 But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.27 Immediately, Jesus said, "Calm down! It's me. Don't be afraid!"27 But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying "Cheer up! It is I! Don't be afraid."27 But Jesus immediately spoke to them, saying, Take courage; it is I: be not afraid.
Peter said to Him, "Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water."28 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.28 Peter answered, "Lord, if it is you, order me to come to you on the water."28 Peter answered him and said, "Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the waters."28 And Peter answering him said, Lord, if it be thou, command me to come to thee upon the waters.
And He said, "Come!" And Peter got out of the boat, and walked on the water and came toward Jesus.29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.29 Jesus said, "Come!" So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus.29 He said, "Come!" Peter stepped down from the boat, and walked on the waters to come to Jesus.29 And he said, Come. And Peter, having descended from the ship, walked upon the waters to go to Jesus.
But seeing the wind, he became frightened, and beginning to sink, he cried out, "Lord, save me!"30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.30 But when he noticed how strong the wind was, he became afraid and started to sink. He shouted, "Lord, save me!"30 But when he saw that the wind was strong, he was afraid, and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying, "Lord, save me!"30 But seeing the wind strong he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, Lord, save me.

Immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and took hold of him, and said to him, "You of little faith, why did you doubt?"31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?31 Immediately, Jesus reached out, caught hold of him, and said, "You have so little faith! Why did you doubt?"31 Immediately Jesus stretched out his hand, took hold of him, and said to him, "You of little faith, why did you doubt?"31 And immediately Jesus stretched out his hand and caught hold of him, and says to him, O thou of little faith, why didst thou doubt?
When they got into the boat, the wind stopped.32 And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.32 When they got into the boat, the wind stopped blowing.32 When they got up into the boat, the wind ceased.32 And when they had gone up into the ship, the wind fell.
And those who were in the boat worshiped Him, saying, "You are certainly God's Son!"33 Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.33 The men in the boat bowed down in front of Jesus and said, "You are truly the Son of God."33 Those who were in the boat came and worshiped him, saying, "You are truly the Son of God!"33 But those in the ship came and did homage to him, saying, Truly thou art God's Son.
When they had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret.34 And when they were gone over, they came into the land of Gennesaret.34 They crossed the sea and landed at Gennesaret.34 When they had crossed over, they came to the land of Gennesaret.34 And having crossed over they came to the land of Gennesaret.
And when the men of that place recognized Him, they sent word into all that surrounding district and brought to Him all who were sick;35 And when the men of that place had knowledge of him, they sent out into all that country round about, and brought unto him all that were diseased;35 The men there recognized Jesus and sent messengers all around the countryside. The people brought him everyone who was sick.35 When the people of that place recognized him, they sent into all that surrounding region, and brought to him all who were sick,35 And when the men of that place recognised him, they sent to that whole country around, and they brought to him all that were ill,

and they implored Him that they might just touch the fringe of His cloak; and as many as touched it were cured.36 And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole.36 They begged him to let them touch just the edge of his clothes. Everyone who touched his clothes was made well.36 and they begged him that they might just touch the fringe of his garment. As many as touched it were made whole.36 and besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment; and as many as touched were made thoroughly well.
