Parable of Ten Virgins
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
1 "Then the kingdom of heaven will be comparable to ten virgins, who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.1 "When the end comes, the kingdom of heaven will be like ten bridesmaids. They took their oil lamps and went to meet the groom.1 "Then the Kingdom of Heaven will be like ten virgins, who took their lamps, and went out to meet the bridegroom.1 Then shall the kingdom of the heavens be made like to ten virgins that having taken their torches, went forth to meet the bridegroom.
2 "Five of them were foolish, and five were prudent.2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.2 Five of them were foolish, and five were wise.2 Five of them were foolish, and five were wise.2 And five of them were prudent and five foolish.
3 "For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them,3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:3 The foolish bridesmaids took their lamps, but they didn't take any extra oil.3 Those who were foolish, when they took their lamps, took no oil with them,3 They that were foolish took their torches and did not take oil with them;
4 but the prudent took oil in flasks along with their lamps.4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.4 The wise bridesmaids, however, took along extra oil for their lamps.4 but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.4 but the prudent took oil in their vessels with their torches.
5 "Now while the bridegroom was delaying, they all got drowsy and began to sleep.5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.5 Since the groom was late, all the bridesmaids became drowsy and fell asleep.5 Now while the bridegroom delayed, they all slumbered and slept.5 Now the bridegroom tarrying, they all grew heavy and slept.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
6 "But at midnight there was a shout, 'Behold, the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.'6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.6 "At midnight someone shouted, 'The groom is here! Come to meet him!'6 But at midnight there was a cry, 'Behold! The bridegroom is coming! Come out to meet him!'6 But in the middle of the night there was a cry, Behold, the bridegroom; go forth to meet him.
7 "Then all those virgins rose and trimmed their lamps.7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.7 Then all the bridesmaids woke up and got their lamps ready.7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.7 Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their torches.
8 "The foolish said to the prudent, 'Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.'8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.8 "The foolish ones said to the wise ones, 'Give us some of your oil. Our lamps are going out.'8 The foolish said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.'8 And the foolish said to the prudent, Give us of your oil, for our torches are going out.
9 "But the prudent answered, 'No, there will not be enough for us and you too; go instead to the dealers and buy some for yourselves.'9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.9 "But the wise bridesmaids replied, 'We can't do that. There won't be enough for both of us. Go! Find someone to sell you some oil.'9 But the wise answered, saying, 'What if there isn't enough for us and you? You go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.'9 But the prudent answered saying, We cannot, lest it might not suffice for us and for you. Go rather to those that sell, and buy for yourselves.
10 "And while they were going away to make the purchase, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding feast; and the door was shut.10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.10 "While they were buying oil, the groom arrived. The bridesmaids who were ready went with him into the wedding hall, and the door was shut.10 While they went away to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was shut.10 But as they went away to buy, the bridegroom came, and the ones that were ready went in with him to the wedding feast, and the door was shut.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
11 "Later the other virgins also came, saying, 'Lord, lord, open up for us.'11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.11 "Later the other bridesmaids arrived and said, 'Sir, sir, open the door for us!'11 Afterward the other virgins also came, saying, 'Lord, Lord, open to us.'11 Afterwards come also the rest of the virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us;
12 "But he answered, 'Truly I say to you, I do not know you.'12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.12 "But he answered them, 'I don't even know who you are!'12 But he answered, 'Most certainly I tell you, I don't know you.'12 but he answering said, Verily I say unto you, I do not know you.
13 "Be on the alert then, for you do not know the day nor the hour.13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.13 "So stay awake, because you don't know the day or the hour.13 Watch therefore, for you don't know the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.13 Watch therefore, for ye know not the day nor the hour.
Parable of the Talents
14 "For it is just like a man about to go on a journey, who called his own slaves and entrusted his possessions to them.14 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.14 "The kingdom of heaven is like a man going on a trip. He called his servants and entrusted some money to them.14 "For it is like a man, going into another country, who called his own servants, and entrusted his goods to them.14 For it is as if a man going away out of a country called his own bondmen and delivered to them his substance.
15 "To one he gave five talents, to another, two, and to another, one, each according to his own ability; and he went on his journey.15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.15 He gave one man ten thousand dollars, another four thousand dollars, and another two thousand dollars. Each was given money based on his ability. Then the man went on his trip.15 To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one; to each according to his own ability. Then he went on his journey.15 And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to each according to his particular ability, and immediately went away out of the country.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
16 "Immediately the one who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and gained five more talents.16 Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents.16 "The one who received ten thousand dollars invested the money at once and doubled his money.16 Immediately he who received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents.16 And he that had received the five talents went and trafficked with them, and made five other talents.
17 "In the same manner the one who had received the two talents gained two more.17 And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two.17 The one who had four thousand dollars did the same and also doubled his money.17 In the same way, he also who got the two gained another two.17 In like manner also he that had received the two, he also gained two others.
18 "But he who received the one talent went away, and dug a hole in the ground and hid his master's money.18 But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money.18 But the one who received two thousand dollars went off, dug a hole in the ground, and hid his master's money.18 But he who received the one went away and dug in the earth, and hid his lord's money.18 But he that had received the one went and dug in the earth, and hid the money of his lord.
19 "Now after a long time the master of those slaves came and settled accounts with them.19 After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them.19 "After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them.19 "Now after a long time the lord of those servants came, and reconciled accounts with them.19 And after a long time the lord of those bondmen comes and reckons with them.
20 "The one who had received the five talents came up and brought five more talents, saying, 'Master, you entrusted five talents to me. See, I have gained five more talents.'20 And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.20 The one who received ten thousand dollars brought the additional ten thousand. He said, 'Sir, you gave me ten thousand dollars. I've doubled the amount.'20 He who received the five talents came and brought another five talents, saying, 'Lord, you delivered to me five talents. Behold, I have gained another five talents besides them.'20 And he that had received the five talents came to him and brought five other talents, saying, My lord, thou deliveredst me five talents; behold, I have gained five other talents besides them.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
21 "His master said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.'21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.21 "His master replied, 'Good job! You're a good and faithful servant! You proved that you could be trusted with a small amount. I will put you in charge of a large amount. Come and share your master's happiness.'21 "His lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things, I will set you over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.'21 His lord said to him, Well, good and faithful bondman, thou wast faithful over a few things, I will set thee over many things: enter into the joy of thy lord.
22 "Also the one who had received the two talents came up and said, 'Master, you entrusted two talents to me. See, I have gained two more talents.'22 He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them.22 "The one who received four thousand dollars came and said, 'Sir, you gave me four thousand dollars. I've doubled the amount.'22 "He also who got the two talents came and said, 'Lord, you delivered to me two talents. Behold, I have gained another two talents besides them.'22 And he also that had received the two talents came to him and said, My lord, thou deliveredst me two talents; behold, I have gained two other talents besides them.
23 "His master said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.'23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.23 "His master replied, 'Good job! You're a good and faithful servant! You proved that you could be trusted with a small amount. I will put you in charge of a large amount. Come and share your master's happiness.'23 "His lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things, I will set you over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.'23 His lord said to him, Well, good and faithful bondman, thou wast faithful over a few things, I will set thee over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
24 "And the one also who had received the one talent came up and said, 'Master, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you did not sow and gathering where you scattered no seed.24 Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:24 "Then the one who received two thousand dollars came and said, 'Sir, I knew that you are a hard person to please. You harvest where you haven't planted and gather where you haven't scattered any seeds.24 "He also who had received the one talent came and said, 'Lord, I knew you that you are a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you did not scatter.24 And he also that had received the one talent coming to him said, My lord, I knew thee that thou art a hard man, reaping where thou hadst not sowed, and gathering from where thou hadst not scattered,
25 'And I was afraid, and went away and hid your talent in the ground. See, you have what is yours.'25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.25 I was afraid. So I hid your two thousand dollars in the ground. Here's your money!'25 I was afraid, and went away and hid your talent in the earth. Behold, you have what is yours.'25 and being afraid I went away and hid thy talent in the earth; behold, thou hast that which is thine.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
26 "But his master answered and said to him, 'You wicked, lazy slave, you knew that I reap where I did not sow and gather where I scattered no seed.26 His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:26 "His master responded, 'You evil and lazy servant! If you knew that I harvest where I haven't planted and gather where I haven't scattered,26 "But his lord answered him, 'You wicked and slothful servant. You knew that I reap where I didn't sow, and gather where I didn't scatter.26 And his lord answering said to him, Wicked and slothful bondman, thou knewest that I reap where I had not sowed, and gather from where I had not scattered;
27 Then you ought to have put my money in the bank, and on my arrival I would have received my money back with interest.27 Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.27 then you should have invested my money with the bankers. When I returned, I would have received my money back with interest.27 You ought therefore to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received back my own with interest.27 thou oughtest then to have put my money to the money-changers, and when I came I should have got what is mine with interest.
28 'Therefore take away the talent from him, and give it to the one who has the ten talents.'28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.28 Take the two thousand dollars away from him! Give it to the one who has the ten thousand!28 Take away therefore the talent from him, and give it to him who has the ten talents.28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it to him that has the ten talents:
29 "For to everyone who has, more shall be given, and he will have an abundance; but from the one who does not have, even what he does have shall be taken away.29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.29 To all who have, more will be given, and they will have more than enough. But everything will be taken away from those who don't have much.29 For to everyone who has will be given, and he will have abundance, but from him who doesn't have, even that which he has will be taken away.29 for to every one that has shall be given, and he shall be in abundance; but from him that has not, that even which he has shall be taken from him.
30 "Throw out the worthless slave into the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.30 Throw this useless servant outside into the darkness. People will cry and be in extreme pain there.'30 Throw out the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'30 And cast out the useless bondman into the outer darkness; there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.
The Judgment
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
31 "But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne.31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:31 "When the Son of Man comes in his glory and all his angels are with him, he will sit on his glorious throne.31 "But when the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then he will sit on the throne of his glory.31 But when the Son of man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then shall he sit down upon his throne of glory,
32 "All the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats;32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:32 The people of every nation will be gathered in front of him. He will separate them as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.32 Before him all the nations will be gathered, and he will separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.32 and all the nations shall be gathered before him; and he shall separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats;
33 and He will put the sheep on His right, and the goats on the left.33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.33 He will put the sheep on his right but the goats on his left.33 He will set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.33 and he will set the sheep on his right hand, and the goats on his left.
34 "Then the King will say to those on His right, 'Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:34 "Then the king will say to those on his right, 'Come, my Father has blessed you! Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world.34 Then the King will tell those on his right hand, 'Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world;34 Then shall the King say to those on his right hand, Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the world's foundation:
35 For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in;35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:35 I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink. I was a stranger, and you took me into your home.35 for I was hungry, and you gave me food to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me drink. I was a stranger, and you took me in.35 for I hungered, and ye gave me to eat; I thirsted, and ye gave me to drink; I was a stranger, and ye took me in;
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
36 naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.'36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.36 I needed clothes, and you gave me something to wear. I was sick, and you took care of me. I was in prison, and you visited me.'36 I was naked, and you clothed me. I was sick, and you visited me. I was in prison, and you came to me.'36 naked, and ye clothed me; I was ill, and ye visited me; I was in prison, and ye came to me.
37 "Then the righteous will answer Him, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink?37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?37 "Then the people who have God's approval will reply to him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you or see you thirsty and give you something to drink?37 "Then the righteous will answer him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry, and feed you; or thirsty, and give you a drink?37 Then shall the righteous answer him saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungering, and nourished thee; or thirsting, and gave thee to drink?
38 'And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You?38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?38 When did we see you as a stranger and take you into our homes or see you in need of clothes and give you something to wear?38 When did we see you as a stranger, and take you in; or naked, and clothe you?38 and when saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in; or naked, and clothed thee?
39 'When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?'39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?39 When did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?'39 When did we see you sick, or in prison, and come to you?'39 and when saw we thee ill, or in prison, and came to thee?
40 "The King will answer and say to them, 'Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.'40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.40 "The king will answer them, 'I can guarantee this truth: Whatever you did for one of my brothers or sisters, no matter how unimportant [they seemed], you did for me.'40 "The King will answer them, 'Most certainly I tell you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.'40 And the King answering shall say to them, Verily, I say to you, Inasmuch as ye have done it to one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it to me.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
41 "Then He will also say to those on His left, 'Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels;41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:41 "Then the king will say to those on his left, 'Get away from me! God has cursed you! Go into everlasting fire that was prepared for the devil and his angels!41 Then he will say also to those on the left hand, 'Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels;41 Then shall he say also to those on the left, Go from me, cursed, into eternal fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
42 for I was hungry, and you gave Me nothing to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me nothing to drink;42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:42 I was hungry, and you gave me nothing to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me nothing to drink.42 for I was hungry, and you didn't give me food to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me no drink;42 for I hungered, and ye gave me not to eat; I thirsted, and ye gave me not to drink;
43 I was a stranger, and you did not invite Me in; naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit Me.'43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.43 I was a stranger, and you didn't take me into your homes. I needed clothes, and you didn't give me anything to wear. I was sick and in prison, and you didn't take care of me.'43 I was a stranger, and you didn't take me in; naked, and you didn't clothe me; sick, and in prison, and you didn't visit me.'43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in; naked, and ye did not clothe me; ill, and in prison, and ye did not visit me.
44 "Then they themselves also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not take care of You?'44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?44 "They, too, will ask, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or as a stranger or in need of clothes or sick or in prison and didn't help you?'44 "Then they will also answer, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and didn't help you?'44 Then shall they also answer saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungering, or thirsting, or a stranger, or naked, or ill, or in prison, and have not ministered to thee?
45 "Then He will answer them, 'Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.'45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.45 "He will answer them, 'I can guarantee this truth: Whatever you failed to do for one of my brothers or sisters, no matter how unimportant [they seemed], you failed to do for me.'45 "Then he will answer them, saying, 'Most certainly I tell you, inasmuch as you didn't do it to one of the least of these, you didn't do it to me.'45 Then shall he answer them saying, Verily I say to you, Inasmuch as ye have not done it to one of these least, neither have ye done it to me.

46 "These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.46 "These people will go away into eternal punishment, but those with God's approval will go into eternal life."46 These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."46 And these shall go away into eternal punishment, and the righteous into life eternal.
