The Temptation of Jesus
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.1 Then was Jesus led up of the spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.1 Then the Spirit led Jesus into the desert to be tempted by the devil.1 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.1 Then Jesus was carried up into the wilderness by the Spirit to be tempted of the devil:
And after He had fasted forty days and forty nights, He then became hungry.2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.2 Jesus did not eat anything for 40 days and 40 nights. At the end of that time, he was hungry.2 When he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was hungry afterward.2 and having fasted forty days and forty nights, afterwards he hungered.
And the tempter came and said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread."3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.3 The tempter came to him and said, "If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become loaves of bread."3 The tempter came and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread."3 And the tempter coming up to him said, If thou be Son of God, speak, that these stones may become loaves of bread.
But He answered and said, "It is written, 'MAN SHALL NOT LIVE ON BREAD ALONE, BUT ON EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD.'"4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.4 Jesus answered, "Scripture says, 'A person cannot live on bread alone but on every word that God speaks.'"4 But he answered, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.'"4 But he answering said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word which goes out through God's mouth.
Then the devil took Him into the holy city and had Him stand on the pinnacle of the temple,5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,5 Then the devil took him into the holy city and had him stand on the highest part of the temple.5 Then the devil took him into the holy city. He set him on the pinnacle of the temple,5 Then the devil takes him to the holy city, and sets him upon the edge of the temple,

and said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down; for it is written, 'HE WILL COMMAND HIS ANGELS CONCERNING YOU'; and 'ON their HANDS THEY WILL BEAR YOU UP, SO THAT YOU WILL NOT STRIKE YOUR FOOT AGAINST A STONE.'"6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.6 He said to Jesus, "If you are the Son of God, jump! Scripture says, 'He will put his angels in charge of you. They will carry you in their hands so that you never hit your foot against a rock.'"6 and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written, 'He will put his angels in charge of you.' and, 'On their hands they will bear you up, so that you don't dash your foot against a stone.'"6 and says to him, If thou be Son of God cast thyself down; for it is written, He shall give charge to his angels concerning thee, and on their hands shall they bear thee, lest in anywise thou strike thy foot against a stone.
Jesus said to him, "On the other hand, it is written, 'YOU SHALL NOT PUT THE LORD YOUR GOD TO THE TEST.'"7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.7 Jesus said to him, "Again, Scripture says, 'Never tempt the Lord your God.' " 7 Jesus said to him, "Again, it is written, 'You shall not test the Lord, your God.'"7 Jesus said to him, It is again written, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
Again, the devil took Him to a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory;8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;8 Once more the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms in the world and their glory.8 Again, the devil took him to an exceedingly high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world, and their glory.8 Again the devil takes him to a very high mountain, and shews him all the kingdoms of the world, and their glory,
and he said to Him, "All these things I will give You, if You fall down and worship me."9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.9 The devil said to him, "I will give you all this if you will bow down and worship me."9 He said to him, "I will give you all of these things, if you will fall down and worship me."9 and says to him, All these things will I give thee if, falling down, thou wilt do me homage.
Then Jesus said to him, "Go, Satan! For it is written, 'YOU SHALL WORSHIP THE LORD YOUR GOD, AND SERVE HIM ONLY.'"10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.10 Jesus said to him, "Go away, Satan! Scripture says, 'Worship the Lord your God and serve only him.'"10 Then Jesus said to him, "Get behind me, Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the Lord your God, and you shall serve him only.'"10 Then says Jesus to him, Get thee away, Satan, for it is written, Thou shalt do homage to the Lord thy God, and him alone shalt thou serve.

Then the devil left Him; and behold, angels came and began to minister to Him.11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.11 Then the devil left him, and angels came to take care of him.11 Then the devil left him, and behold, angels came and served him.11 Then the devil leaves him, and behold, angels came and ministered to him.
Jesus Begins His Ministry
Now when Jesus heard that John had been taken into custody, He withdrew into Galilee;12 Now when Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison, he departed into Galilee;12 When Jesus heard that John had been put in prison, he went back to Galilee.12 Now when Jesus heard that John was delivered up, he withdrew into Galilee.12 But having heard that John was delivered up, he departed into Galilee:
and leaving Nazareth, He came and settled in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the region of Zebulun and Naphtali.13 And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim:13 He left Nazareth and made his home in Capernaum on the shores of the Sea of Galilee. This was in the region of Zebulun and Naphtali.13 Leaving Nazareth, he came and lived in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the region of Zebulun and Naphtali,13 and having left Nazareth, he went and dwelt at Capernaum, which is on the sea-side in the borders of Zabulon and Nepthalim,
This was to fulfill what was spoken through Isaiah the prophet:14 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,14 So what the prophet Isaiah had said came true:14 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying,14 that that might be fulfilled which was spoken through Esaias the prophet, saying,
"THE LAND OF ZEBULUN AND THE LAND OF NAPHTALI, BY THE WAY OF THE SEA, BEYOND THE JORDAN, GALILEE OF THE GENTILES--15 The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles;15 "Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali, on the way to the sea, across the Jordan River, Galilee, where foreigners live!15 "The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, toward the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles,15 Land of Zabulon and land of Nepthalim, way of the sea beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the nations:

"THE PEOPLE WHO WERE SITTING IN DARKNESS SAW A GREAT LIGHT, AND THOSE WHO WERE SITTING IN THE LAND AND SHADOW OF DEATH, UPON THEM A LIGHT DAWNED."16 The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.16 The people who lived in darkness have seen a bright light. A light has risen for those who live in a land overshadowed by death."16 the people who sat in darkness saw a great light, to those who sat in the region and shadow of death, to them light has dawned."16 the people sitting in darkness has seen a great light, and to those sitting in the country and shadow of death, to them has light sprung up.
From that time Jesus began to preach and say, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.17 From then on, Jesus began to tell people, "Turn to God and change the way you think and act, because the kingdom of heaven is near!"17 From that time, Jesus began to preach, and to say, "Repent! For the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand."17 From that time began Jesus to preach and to say, Repent, for the kingdom of the heavens has drawn nigh.
