The Building of the Temple
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 Now it came about in the four hundred and eightieth year after the sons of Israel came out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv which is the second month, that he began to build the house of the LORD.1 And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of the LORD.1 Solomon began to build the LORD's temple 480 years after Israel left Egypt. He began building in the month of Ziv (the second month) of the fourth year of his reign over Israel.1 It happened in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Ziv, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of Yahweh.1 And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of Jehovah.
 As for the house which King Solomon built for the LORD, its length was sixty cubits and its width twenty cubits and its height thirty cubits.2 And the house which king Solomon built for the LORD, the length thereof was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof twenty cubits, and the height thereof thirty cubits.2 The temple that King Solomon built for the LORD was 90 feet long, 30 feet wide, and 45 feet high.2 The house which king Solomon built for Yahweh, its length was sixty cubits, and its breadth twenty [cubits], and its height thirty cubits.2 And the house that king Solomon built for Jehovah was sixty cubits in length, and twenty in breadth, and thirty cubits in height.
 The porch in front of the nave of the house was twenty cubits in length, corresponding to the width of the house, and its depth along the front of the house was ten cubits.3 And the porch before the temple of the house, twenty cubits was the length thereof, according to the breadth of the house; and ten cubits was the breadth thereof before the house.3 The entrance hall in front of the main room of the temple was the same length as the shorter side of the temple. It extended 15 feet in front of the temple.3 The porch before the temple of the house, twenty cubits was its length, according to the breadth of the house; [and] ten cubits was its breadth before the house.3 And the porch, in front of the temple of the house, was twenty cubits in length, in front of the house broadways, and ten cubits was its breadth, in front of the house.
 Also for the house he made windows with artistic frames.4 And for the house he made windows of narrow lights.4 He also made latticed windows for the temple.4 For the house he made windows of fixed lattice work.4 And for the house he made closed windows with fixed lattices.
 Against the wall of the house he built stories encompassing the walls of the house around both the nave and the inner sanctuary; thus he made side chambers all around.5 And against the wall of the house he built chambers round about, against the walls of the house round about, both of the temple and of the oracle: and he made chambers round about:5 He built an annex containing side rooms all around the temple. This annex was next to the walls of the main building and the inner sanctuary.5 Against the wall of the house he built stories all around, against the walls of the house all around, both of the temple and of the oracle; and he made side rooms all around.5 And against the wall of the house he built floors round about, against the walls of the house, round about the temple and the oracle; and he made side-chambers round about.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 The lowest story was five cubits wide, and the middle was six cubits wide, and the third was seven cubits wide; for on the outside he made offsets in the wall of the house all around in order that the beams would not be inserted in the walls of the house.6 The nethermost chamber was five cubits broad, and the middle was six cubits broad, and the third was seven cubits broad: for without in the wall of the house he made narrowed rests round about, that the beams should not be fastened in the walls of the house.6 The [interior of] the lowest story of the annex was 71/2 feet wide, the second story was 9 feet wide, and the third story was 101/2 feet wide. Solomon made ledges all around the temple so that this annex would not be fastened to the walls of the temple.6 The nethermost story was five cubits broad, and the middle was six cubits broad, and the third was seven cubits broad; for on the outside he made offsets [in the wall] of the house all around, that [the beams] should not have hold in the walls of the house.6 The lowest floor was five cubits broad, and the middle one was six cubits broad, and the third was seven cubits broad; for in the thickness of the wall of the house he made resets round about outside, that nothing should be fastened in the walls of the house.
 The house, while it was being built, was built of stone prepared at the quarry, and there was neither hammer nor axe nor any iron tool heard in the house while it was being built.7 And the house, when it was in building, was built of stone made ready before it was brought thither: so that there was neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building.7 The temple was built with stone blocks that were finished at the quarry. No hammer, chisel, or any other iron tool made a sound at the temple construction site.7 The house, when it was in building, was built of stone prepared at the quarry; and there was neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building.7 And the house, when it was being built, was built of stone entirely made ready before it was brought thither; so that there was neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house while it was being built.
 The doorway for the lowest side chamber was on the right side of the house; and they would go up by winding stairs to the middle story, and from the middle to the third.8 The door for the middle chamber was in the right side of the house: and they went up with winding stairs into the middle chamber, and out of the middle into the third.8 The entrance to the first story was on the south side of the temple. A staircase went up to the middle story and then to the third story. 8 The door for the middle side rooms was in the right side of the house: and they went up by winding stairs into the middle [story], and out of the middle into the third.8 The entrance to the side-chambers of the middle floor was in the right side of the house; and they went up by winding stairs into the middle floor, and out of the middle into the third.
 So he built the house and finished it; and he covered the house with beams and planks of cedar.9 So he built the house, and finished it; and covered the house with beams and boards of cedar.9 When he had finished building the walls, he roofed the temple with rows of cedar beams and planks. 9 So he built the house, and finished it; and he covered the house with beams and planks of cedar.9 And he built the house, and finished it; and covered the house with beams and boards of cedar.
 He also built the stories against the whole house, each five cubits high; and they were fastened to the house with timbers of cedar.10 And then he built chambers against all the house, five cubits high: and they rested on the house with timber of cedar.10 He built [each story of the] annex 71/2 feet high alongside the entire temple. Its cedar beams were attached to the temple.10 He built the stories against all the house, each five cubits high: and they rested on the house with timber of cedar.10 And he built the floors against all the house, five cubits high; and they held to the house by the timbers of cedar.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 Now the word of the LORD came to Solomon saying,11 And the word of the LORD came to Solomon, saying,11 The LORD spoke to Solomon, saying,11 The word of Yahweh came to Solomon, saying,11 And the word of Jehovah came to Solomon saying,
 "Concerning this house which you are building, if you will walk in My statutes and execute My ordinances and keep all My commandments by walking in them, then I will carry out My word with you which I spoke to David your father.12 Concerning this house which thou art in building, if thou wilt walk in my statutes, and execute my judgments, and keep all my commandments to walk in them; then will I perform my word with thee, which I spake unto David thy father:12 "This concerns the temple you are building: If you live by my laws, follow my rules, and keep my commands, I will fulfill the promise I made about you to your father David.12 "Concerning this house which you are building, if you will walk in my statutes, and execute my ordinances, and keep all my commandments to walk in them; then will I establish my word with you, which I spoke to David your father.12 As to this house which thou art building, if thou wilt walk in my statutes, and practise mine ordinances, and keep all my commandments to walk in them, then will I perform my word as to thee which I spoke unto David thy father;
 "I will dwell among the sons of Israel, and will not forsake My people Israel."13 And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake my people Israel.13 I will live among the Israelites and never abandon my people."13 I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake my people Israel."13 and I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake my people Israel.
 So Solomon built the house and finished it.14 So Solomon built the house, and finished it.14 When Solomon had finished building the temple's [frame],14 So Solomon built the house, and finished it.14 And Solomon built the house and finished it.
 Then he built the walls of the house on the inside with boards of cedar; from the floor of the house to the ceiling he overlaid the walls on the inside with wood, and he overlaid the floor of the house with boards of cypress.15 And he built the walls of the house within with boards of cedar, both the floor of the house, and the walls of the ceiling: and he covered them on the inside with wood, and covered the floor of the house with planks of fir.15 he began to line the inside walls of the temple with cedar boards. He paneled the inside of the temple with wood from floor to ceiling. He covered the floor of the temple with cypress planks.15 He built the walls of the house within with boards of cedar: from the floor of the house to the walls of the ceiling, he covered them on the inside with wood; and he covered the floor of the house with boards of fir.15 And he built the walls of the house within with boards of cedar, from the floor of the house to the walls of the roof; he overlaid them on the inside with wood, and overlaid the floor of the house with boards of cypress.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 He built twenty cubits on the rear part of the house with boards of cedar from the floor to the ceiling; he built them for it on the inside as an inner sanctuary, even as the most holy place.16 And he built twenty cubits on the sides of the house, both the floor and the walls with boards of cedar: he even built them for it within, even for the oracle, even for the most holy place.16 He sectioned off a 30-foot-long room at the rear of the temple with cedar boards from the floor to the rafters. He built it to serve as an inner room, the most holy place.16 He built twenty cubits on the hinder part of the house with boards of cedar from the floor to the walls [of the ceiling]: he built [them] for it within, for an oracle, even for the most holy place.16 And he built twenty cubits of the innermost part of the house, both floor and walls, with boards of cedar; and he built them for it within, to be the oracle, the most holy place.
 The house, that is, the nave in front of the inner sanctuary, was forty cubits long.17 And the house, that is, the temple before it, was forty cubits long.17 The 60-foot-long room at the front of the temple served as the main hall.17 The house, that is, the temple before [the oracle], was forty cubits [long].17 And the house, that is, the temple before it, was forty cubits long.
 There was cedar on the house within, carved in the shape of gourds and open flowers; all was cedar, there was no stone seen.18 And the cedar of the house within was carved with knops and open flowers: all was cedar; there was no stone seen.18 Gourds and flowers were carved into the cedar paneling inside the temple. Everything was [covered with] cedar. No stone could be seen.18 There was cedar on the house within, carved with buds and open flowers: all was cedar; there was no stone seen.18 And the cedar of the house within was carved with colocynths and half-open flowers: all was cedar; there was no stone seen.
 Then he prepared an inner sanctuary within the house in order to place there the ark of the covenant of the LORD.19 And the oracle he prepared in the house within, to set there the ark of the covenant of the LORD.19 He prepared the inner room of the temple in order to put the ark of the LORD's promise there.19 He prepared an oracle in the midst of the house within, to set there the ark of the covenant of Yahweh.19 And he prepared the oracle in the midst of the house within, to set there the ark of the covenant of Jehovah.
 The inner sanctuary was twenty cubits in length, twenty cubits in width, and twenty cubits in height, and he overlaid it with pure gold. He also overlaid the altar with cedar.20 And the oracle in the forepart was twenty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in breadth, and twenty cubits in the height thereof: and he overlaid it with pure gold; and so covered the altar which was of cedar.20 The inner room was 30 feet long, 30 feet wide, and 30 feet high. Solomon covered it and the cedar altar with pure gold.20 Within the oracle was [a space of] twenty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in breadth, and twenty cubits in its height; and he overlaid it with pure gold: and he covered the altar with cedar.20 And the oracle within was twenty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in breadth, and twenty cubits in the height thereof; and he overlaid it with pure gold; and he overlaid the cedar-wood altar --
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 So Solomon overlaid the inside of the house with pure gold. And he drew chains of gold across the front of the inner sanctuary, and he overlaid it with gold.21 So Solomon overlaid the house within with pure gold: and he made a partition by the chains of gold before the oracle; and he overlaid it with gold.21 He covered the inside of the temple with pure gold. He put golden chains across the front of the inner room which was covered with gold.21 So Solomon overlaid the house within with pure gold: and he drew chains of gold across before the oracle; and he overlaid it with gold.21 and Solomon overlaid the house within with pure gold, and shut off the oracle in front with chains of gold, and overlaid it with gold.
 He overlaid the whole house with gold, until all the house was finished. Also the whole altar which was by the inner sanctuary he overlaid with gold.22 And the whole house he overlaid with gold, until he had finished all the house: also the whole altar that was by the oracle he overlaid with gold.22 He covered the entire inside of the temple with gold. He also covered the entire altar in the inner room with gold.22 The whole house he overlaid with gold, until all the house was finished: also the whole altar that belonged to the oracle he overlaid with gold.22 And the whole house he overlaid with gold, the whole house entirely; also the whole altar that was by the oracle he overlaid with gold.
 Also in the inner sanctuary he made two cherubim of olive wood, each ten cubits high.23 And within the oracle he made two cherubim of olive tree, each ten cubits high.23 In the inner room he made two 15-foot-tall angels out of olive wood. 23 In the oracle he made two cherubim of olive wood, each ten cubits high.23 And he made in the oracle two cherubim of olive-wood, ten cubits high;
 Five cubits was the one wing of the cherub and five cubits the other wing of the cherub; from the end of one wing to the end of the other wing were ten cubits.24 And five cubits was the one wing of the cherub, and five cubits the other wing of the cherub: from the uttermost part of the one wing unto the uttermost part of the other were ten cubits.24 Each wing of the angels was 71/2 feet long. The distance from the tip of one wing to the tip of the other was 15 feet.24 Five cubits was the one wing of the cherub, and five cubits the other wing of the cherub: from the uttermost part of the one wing to the uttermost part of the other were ten cubits.24 and one wing of the cherub was five cubits, and five cubits the other wing of the cherub, ten cubits from the end of one wing to the end of the other wing;
 The other cherub was ten cubits; both the cherubim were of the same measure and the same form.25 And the other cherub was ten cubits: both the cherubim were of one measure and one size.25 Both angels had a 15-foot [wingspan]. Both had the same measurements and the same shape.25 The other cherub was ten cubits: both the cherubim were of one measure and one form.25 and the other cherub was ten cubits: both the cherubim were of one measure and one form.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 The height of the one cherub was ten cubits, and so was the other cherub.26 The height of the one cherub was ten cubits, and so was it of the other cherub.26 Each was 15 feet high.26 The height of the one cherub was ten cubits, and so was it of the other cherub.26 The height of the one cherub was ten cubits, and so of the other cherub.
 He placed the cherubim in the midst of the inner house, and the wings of the cherubim were spread out, so that the wing of the one was touching the one wall, and the wing of the other cherub was touching the other wall. So their wings were touching each other in the center of the house.27 And he set the cherubim within the inner house: and they stretched forth the wings of the cherubim, so that the wing of the one touched the one wall, and the wing of the other cherub touched the other wall; and their wings touched one another in the midst of the house.27 Solomon put the angels in the inner room of the temple. The wings of the angels extended so that the wing of one of the angels touched the one wall, and the wing of the other touched the other wall. Their remaining wings touched each other in the center of the room.27 He set the cherubim within the inner house; and the wings of the cherubim were stretched forth, so that the wing of the one touched the one wall, and the wing of the other cherub touched the other wall; and their wings touched one another in the midst of the house.27 And he set the cherubim in the midst of the inner house; and the wings of the cherubim were stretched forth, so that the wing of the one touched the wall, and the wing of the other cherub touched the other wall; and their wings touched, wing to wing, in the midst of the house.
 He also overlaid the cherubim with gold.28 And he overlaid the cherubim with gold.28 He covered the angels with gold.28 He overlaid the cherubim with gold.28 And he overlaid the cherubim with gold.
 Then he carved all the walls of the house round about with carved engravings of cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers, inner and outer sanctuaries.29 And he carved all the walls of the house round about with carved figures of cherubim and palm trees and open flowers, within and without.29 He carved angels, palm trees, and flowers into the walls all around the inner and outer rooms of the temple.29 He carved all the walls of the house around with carved figures of cherubim and palm trees and open flowers, inside and outside.29 And he carved all the walls of the house round about with carved sculptures of cherubim, and palm-trees, and half-open flowers, within and without.
 He overlaid the floor of the house with gold, inner and outer sanctuaries.30 And the floors of the house he overlaid with gold, within and without.30 He covered the floor of the inner and outer rooms of the temple with gold.30 The floor of the house he overlaid with gold, inside and outside.30 And the floor of the house he overlaid with gold, within and without.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 For the entrance of the inner sanctuary he made doors of olive wood, the lintel and five-sided doorposts.31 And for the entering of the oracle he made doors of olive tree: the lintel and side posts were a fifth part of the wall.31 He made doors for the entrance to the inner room out of olive wood. The doorposts had five sides.31 For the entrance of the oracle he made doors of olive wood: the lintel [and] door posts were a fifth part [of the wall].31 And for the entrance of the oracle he made doors of olive-wood: the lintel and side posts were the fifth part of the breadth of the house.
 So he made two doors of olive wood, and he carved on them carvings of cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers, and overlaid them with gold; and he spread the gold on the cherubim and on the palm trees.32 The two doors also were of olive tree; and he carved upon them carvings of cherubim and palm trees and open flowers, and overlaid them with gold, and spread gold upon the cherubim, and upon the palm trees.32 The two doors were [made out of] olive wood. He carved angels, palm trees, and flowers into them and covered them with gold. The gold was hammered onto the angels and the palm trees.32 So [he made] two doors of olive wood; and he carved on them carvings of cherubim and palm trees and open flowers, and overlaid them with gold; and he spread the gold on the cherubim, and on the palm trees.32 The two doors were of olive-wood; and he carved on them carvings of cherubim, and palm-trees and half-open flowers, and overlaid them with gold, and spread gold on the cherubim and on the palm-trees.
 So also he made for the entrance of the nave four-sided doorposts of olive wood33 So also made he for the door of the temple posts of olive tree, a fourth part of the wall.33 In the same way he made square doorposts out of olive wood for the temple's entrance.33 So also made he for the entrance of the temple door posts of olive wood, out of a fourth part [of the wall];33 And he also made for the doorway of the temple posts of olive-wood, of the fourth part of the breadth of the house.
 and two doors of cypress wood; the two leaves of the one door turned on pivots, and the two leaves of the other door turned on pivots.34 And the two doors were of fir tree: the two leaves of the one door were folding, and the two leaves of the other door were folding.34 He made two doors from cypress. Each of the doors had two folding panels.34 and two doors of fir wood: the two leaves of the one door were folding, and the two leaves of the other door were folding.34 And the two folding-doors were of cypress-wood: the two leaves of the one door were folding, and the two leaves of the other door were folding.
 He carved on it cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers; and he overlaid them with gold evenly applied on the engraved work.35 And he carved thereon cherubim and palm trees and open flowers: and covered them with gold fitted upon the carved work.35 On them he carved angels, palm trees, and flowers. He evenly covered them with gold.35 He carved [thereon] cherubim and palm trees and open flowers; and he overlaid them with gold fitted on the engraved work.35 And he carved on them cherubim, and palm-trees, and half-open flowers; and overlaid them with gold fitted on the carved work.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 He built the inner court with three rows of cut stone and a row of cedar beams.36 And he built the inner court with three rows of hewed stone, and a row of cedar beams.36 He built the inner courtyard with three courses of finished stones and a course of finished cedar beams.36 He built the inner court with three courses of cut stone, and a course of cedar beams.36 And he built the inner court of three rows of hewn stone, and a row of cedar-beams.
 In the fourth year the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid, in the month of Ziv.37 In the fourth year was the foundation of the house of the LORD laid, in the month Zif:37 In the month of Ziv of the fourth year of Solomon's reign, the foundation of the LORD's temple was laid.37 In the fourth year was the foundation of the house of Yahweh laid, in the month Ziv.37 In the fourth year was the foundation of the house of Jehovah laid, in the month Zif;
 In the eleventh year, in the month of Bul, which is the eighth month, the house was finished throughout all its parts and according to all its plans. So he was seven years in building it.38 And in the eleventh year, in the month Bul, which is the eighth month, was the house finished throughout all the parts thereof, and according to all the fashion of it. So was he seven years in building it.38 In the month of Bul (the eighth month) of the eleventh year [of his reign], the temple was finished according to all its plans and specifications. He spent seven years building it.38 In the eleventh year, in the month Bul, which is the eighth month, was the house finished throughout all its parts, and according to all its fashion. So was he seven years in building it.38 and in the eleventh year, in the month Bul, which is the eighth month, was the house finished in all its parts, and according to all the fashion of it. So he was seven years in building it.
