Examine Yourselves
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
This is the third time I am coming to you. EVERY FACT IS TO BE CONFIRMED BY THE TESTIMONY OF TWO OR THREE WITNESSES.1 This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.1 This is the third time that I'll be visiting you. Every accusation must be verified by two or three witnesses.1 This is the third time I am coming to you. "At the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established."1 This third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every matter be established.
I have previously said when present the second time, and though now absent I say in advance to those who have sinned in the past and to all the rest as well, that if I come again I will not spare anyone,2 I told you before, and foretell you, as if I were present, the second time; and being absent now I write to them which heretofore have sinned, and to all other, that, if I come again, I will not spare:2 I already warned you when I was with you the second time, and even though I'm not there now, I'm warning you again. When I visit you again, I won't spare you. That goes for all those who formerly led sinful lives as well as for all the others.2 I have said beforehand, and I do say beforehand, as when I was present the second time, so now, being absent, I write to those who have sinned before now, and to all the rest, that, if I come again, I will not spare;2 I have declared beforehand, and I say beforehand as present the second time, and now absent, to those that have sinned before, and to all the rest, that if I come again I will not spare.
since you are seeking for proof of the Christ who speaks in me, and who is not weak toward you, but mighty in you.3 Since ye seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, which to you-ward is not weak, but is mighty in you.3 Since you want proof that Christ is speaking through me, that's what you'll get. Christ isn't weak in dealing with you. Instead, he makes his power felt among you.3 seeing that you seek a proof of Christ who speaks in me; who toward you is not weak, but is powerful in you.3 Since ye seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, (who is not weak towards you, but is powerful among you,
For indeed He was crucified because of weakness, yet He lives because of the power of God. For we also are weak in Him, yet we will live with Him because of the power of God directed toward you.4 For though he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God toward you.4 He was weak when he was crucified, but by God's power he lives. We are weak with him, but by God's power we will live for you with his help.4 For he was crucified through weakness, yet he lives through the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we will live with him through the power of God toward you.4 for if indeed he has been crucified in weakness, yet he lives by God's power; for indeed we are weak in him, but we shall live with him by God's power towards you,)
Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you-- unless indeed you fail the test?5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?5 Examine yourselves to see whether you are still in the Christian faith. Test yourselves! Don't you recognize that you are people in whom Jesus Christ lives? Could it be that you're failing the test?5 Test your own selves, whether you are in the faith. Test your own selves. Or don't you know as to your own selves, that Jesus Christ is in you?--unless indeed you are disqualified.5 examine your own selves if ye be in the faith; prove your own selves: do ye not recognise yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you, unless indeed ye be reprobates?
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
But I trust that you will realize that we ourselves do not fail the test.6 But I trust that ye shall know that we are not reprobates.6 I hope that you will realize that we haven't failed the test.6 But I hope that you will know that we aren't disqualified.6 Now I hope that ye will know that we are not reprobates.
Now we pray to God that you do no wrong; not that we ourselves may appear approved, but that you may do what is right, even though we may appear unapproved.7 Now I pray to God that ye do no evil; not that we should appear approved, but that ye should do that which is honest, though we be as reprobates.7 We pray to God that you won't do anything wrong. It's not that we want to prove that we've passed the test. Rather, we want you to do whatever is right, even if we seem to have failed.7 Now I pray to God that you do no evil; not that we may appear approved, but that you may do that which is honorable, though we are as reprobate.7 But we pray to God that ye may do nothing evil; not that we may appear approved, but that ye may do what is right, and we be as reprobates.
For we can do nothing against the truth, but only for the truth.8 For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.8 We can't do anything against the truth but only to help the truth.8 For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.8 For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.
For we rejoice when we ourselves are weak but you are strong; this we also pray for, that you be made complete.9 For we are glad, when we are weak, and ye are strong: and this also we wish, even your perfection.9 We're glad when we are weak and you are strong. We are also praying for your improvement.9 For we rejoice when we are weak and you are strong. And this we also pray for, even your perfecting.9 For we rejoice when we may be weak and ye may be powerful. But this also we pray for, your perfecting.
For this reason I am writing these things while absent, so that when present I need not use severity, in accordance with the authority which the Lord gave me for building up and not for tearing down.10 Therefore I write these things being absent, lest being present I should use sharpness, according to the power which the Lord hath given me to edification, and not to destruction.10 That's why I'm writing this letter while I'm not with you. When I am with you I don't want to be harsh by using the authority that the Lord gave me. The Lord gave us this authority to help you, not to hurt you.10 For this cause I write these things while absent, that I may not deal sharply when present, according to the authority which the Lord gave me for building up, and not for tearing down.10 On this account I write these things being absent, that being present I may not use severity according to the authority which the Lord has given me for building up, and not for overthrowing.

Finally, brethren, rejoice, be made complete, be comforted, be like-minded, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.11 Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.11 With that, brothers and sisters, I must say goodbye. Make sure that you improve. Accept my encouragement. Share the same attitude and live in peace. The God of love and peace will be with you.11 Finally, brothers, rejoice. Be perfected, be comforted, be of the same mind, live in peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you.11 For the rest, brethren, rejoice; be perfected; be encouraged; be of one mind; be at peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.
Greet one another with a holy kiss.12 Greet one another with an holy kiss.12 Greet one another with a holy kiss. All of God's holy people greet you. 12 Greet one another with a holy kiss.12 Salute one another with a holy kiss.
All the saints greet you.13 All the saints salute you.13 May the Lord Jesus Christ's good will, God's love, and the Holy Spirit's presence be with all of you! 13 All the saints greet you.13 All the saints salute you.
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.14 14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. Amen.14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.
