Warning Through Visions
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
Thus the Lord GOD showed me, and behold, He was forming a locust-swarm when the spring crop began to sprout. And behold, the spring crop was after the king's mowing.1 Thus hath the Lord GOD shewed unto me; and, behold, he formed grasshoppers in the beginning of the shooting up of the latter growth; and, lo, it was the latter growth after the king's mowings.1 This is what the Almighty LORD showed me: He was preparing swarms of locusts when the second crop was being harvested. It was the harvest that followed the harvest for the king.1 Thus the Lord Yahweh showed me: and behold, he formed locusts in the beginning of the shooting up of the latter growth; and behold, it was the latter growth after the king's harvest.1 Thus did the Lord Jehovah shew unto me; and behold, he formed locusts in the beginning of the shooting up of the latter growth, and behold, it was the latter growth after the king's mowings.
And it came about, when it had finished eating the vegetation of the land, that I said, "Lord GOD, please pardon! How can Jacob stand, For he is small?"2 And it came to pass, that when they had made an end of eating the grass of the land, then I said, O Lord GOD, forgive, I beseech thee: by whom shall Jacob arise? for he is small.2 When the locusts had finished eating every plant in the land, I said, "Almighty LORD, please forgive us! How can [the descendants of] Jacob survive? There are so few of them."2 It happened that, when they made an end of eating the grass of the land, then I said, "Lord Yahweh, forgive, I beg you! How could Jacob stand? For he is small."2 And it came to pass, when they had wholly eaten the grass of the land, that I said, O Lord Jehovah, forgive, I beseech thee! How shall Jacob arise? for he is small.
The LORD changed His mind about this. "It shall not be," said the LORD.3 The LORD repented for this: It shall not be, saith the LORD.3 The LORD changed his plans about this. "This won't happen," the LORD said.3 Yahweh relented concerning this. "It shall not be," says Yahweh.3 Jehovah repented for this: It shall not be, said Jehovah.
Thus the Lord GOD showed me, and behold, the Lord GOD was calling to contend with them by fire, and it consumed the great deep and began to consume the farm land.4 Thus hath the Lord GOD shewed unto me: and, behold, the Lord GOD called to contend by fire, and it devoured the great deep, and did eat up a part.4 This is what the Almighty LORD showed me: The Almighty LORD was calling for judgment by fire. The fire dried up the ocean and burned up the land.4 Thus the Lord Yahweh showed me and behold, the Lord Yahweh called for judgment by fire; and it dried up the great deep, and would have devoured the land.4 Thus did the Lord Jehovah shew unto me; and behold, the Lord Jehovah called to contend by fire; and it devoured the great deep, and ate up the inheritance.
Then I said, "Lord GOD, please stop! How can Jacob stand, for he is small?"5 Then said I, O Lord GOD, cease, I beseech thee: by whom shall Jacob arise? for he is small.5 Then I said, "Almighty LORD, please stop! How can [the descendants of] Jacob survive? There are so few of them."5 Then I said, "Lord Yahweh, stop, I beg you! How could Jacob stand? For he is small."5 Then said I, O Lord Jehovah, cease, I beseech thee! How shall Jacob arise? for he is small.

The LORD changed His mind about this. "This too shall not be," said the Lord GOD.6 The LORD repented for this: This also shall not be, saith the Lord GOD.6 The LORD changed his plans about this. "This won't happen either," the Almighty LORD said.6 Yahweh relented concerning this. "This also shall not be," says the Lord Yahweh.6 Jehovah repented for this: This also shall not be, said the Lord Jehovah.
Thus He showed me, and behold, the Lord was standing by a vertical wall with a plumb line in His hand.7 Thus he shewed me: and, behold, the LORD stood upon a wall made by a plumbline, with a plumbline in his hand.7 This is what he showed me: The Lord was standing by a wall built with the use of a plumb line, and he had a plumb line in his hand.7 Thus he showed me and behold, the Lord stood beside a wall made by a plumb line, with a plumb line in his hand.7 Thus did he shew unto me; and behold, the Lord stood upon a wall made by a plumb-line, with a plumb-line in his hand.
The LORD said to me, "What do you see, Amos?" And I said, "A plumb line." Then the Lord said, "Behold I am about to put a plumb line In the midst of My people Israel. I will spare them no longer.8 And the LORD said unto me, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A plumbline. Then said the LORD, Behold, I will set a plumbline in the midst of my people Israel: I will not again pass by them any more:8 He asked me, "What do you see, Amos?" I answered, "A plumb line." Then the Lord said, "I'm going to hold a plumb line in the middle of my people Israel. I will no longer overlook what they have done.8 Yahweh said to me, "Amos, what do you see?" I said, "A plumb line." Then the Lord said, "Behold, I will set a plumb line in the midst of my people Israel. I will not again pass by them any more.8 And Jehovah said unto me, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A plumb-line. And the Lord said, Behold, I will set a plumb-line in the midst of my people Israel: I will not again pass by them any more.
"The high places of Isaac will be desolated And the sanctuaries of Israel laid waste. Then I will rise up against the house of Jeroboam with the sword."9 And the high places of Isaac shall be desolate, and the sanctuaries of Israel shall be laid waste; and I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword.9 The worship sites of Isaac will be destroyed, and the holy places of Israel will be in ruins. I will attack Jeroboam's heirs with my sword."9 The high places of Isaac will be desolate, the sanctuaries of Israel will be laid waste; and I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword."9 And the high places of Isaac shall be desolated, and the sanctuaries of Israel shall be laid waste; and I will arise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword.
Amos Accused, Answers
Then Amaziah, the priest of Bethel, sent word to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, "Amos has conspired against you in the midst of the house of Israel; the land is unable to endure all his words.10 Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, Amos hath conspired against thee in the midst of the house of Israel: the land is not able to bear all his words.10 Then Amaziah, the priest at Bethel, sent a message to King Jeroboam of Israel. It read, "Amos is plotting against you among the people of Israel. The country isn't able to endure everything he is saying.10 Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, "Amos has conspired against you in the midst of the house of Israel. The land is not able to bear all his words.10 Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, Amos hath conspired against thee in the midst of the house of Israel: the land is not able to bear all his words.

"For thus Amos says, 'Jeroboam will die by the sword and Israel will certainly go from its land into exile.'"11 For thus Amos saith, Jeroboam shall die by the sword, and Israel shall surely be led away captive out of their own land.11 Amos says that Jeroboam will be killed with a sword and that Israel cannot avoid being taken from its land into exile."11 For Amos says, 'Jeroboam will die by the sword, and Israel shall surely be led away captive out of his land.'"11 For thus Amos saith: Jeroboam shall die by the sword, and Israel shall certainly go into captivity out of his land.
Then Amaziah said to Amos, "Go, you seer, flee away to the land of Judah and there eat bread and there do your prophesying!12 Also Amaziah said unto Amos, O thou seer, go, flee thee away into the land of Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there:12 Then Amaziah said to Amos, "You seer, run away to Judah! Eat there, and prophesy there! 12 Amaziah also said to Amos, "You seer, go, flee away into the land of Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there:12 And Amaziah said unto Amos, Thou seer, go, flee away into the land of Judah, and eat bread there, and prophesy there.
"But no longer prophesy at Bethel, for it is a sanctuary of the king and a royal residence."13 But prophesy not again any more at Bethel: for it is the king's chapel, and it is the king's court.13 But don't [ever] prophesy again in Bethel, because this is the king's holy place and the king's palace."13 but don't prophesy again any more at Bethel; for it is the king's sanctuary, and it is a royal house!"13 But prophesy not again any more at Bethel; for it is the king's sanctuary, and it is the house of the kingdom.
Then Amos replied to Amaziah, "I am not a prophet, nor am I the son of a prophet; for I am a herdsman and a grower of sycamore figs.14 Then answered Amos, and said to Amaziah, I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet's son; but I was an herdman, and a gatherer of sycomore fruit:14 Amos responded, "I'm not a prophet, and I'm not a disciple of the prophets. I am a rancher and a grower of figs.14 Then Amos answered Amaziah, "I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet's son; but I was a herdsman, and a farmer of sycamore figs;14 And Amos answered and said to Amaziah, I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet's son; but I was a herdman, and a gatherer of sycamore fruit.
"But the LORD took me from following the flock and the LORD said to me, 'Go prophesy to My people Israel.'15 And the LORD took me as I followed the flock, and the LORD said unto me, Go, prophesy unto my people Israel.15 But the LORD took me away from herding the flock and said to me, 'Prophesy to my people Israel.'15 and Yahweh took me from following the flock, and Yahweh said to me, 'Go, prophesy to my people Israel.'15 And Jehovah took me as I followed the flock, and Jehovah said unto me, Go, prophesy unto my people Israel.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
"Now hear the word of the LORD: you are saying, 'You shall not prophesy against Israel nor shall you speak against the house of Isaac.'16 Now therefore hear thou the word of the LORD: Thou sayest, Prophesy not against Israel, and drop not thy word against the house of Isaac.16 "Now listen to the word of the LORD: You said, 'Stop prophesying against Israel, and stop preaching against the descendants of Isaac.'16 Now therefore listen to the word of Yahweh: 'You say, Don't prophesy against Israel, and don't preach against the house of Isaac.'16 And now hear thou the word of Jehovah: Thou sayest, Prophesy not against Israel, and utter not words against the house of Isaac.
"Therefore, thus says the LORD, 'Your wife will become a harlot in the city, your sons and your daughters will fall by the sword, your land will be parceled up by a measuring line and you yourself will die upon unclean soil. Moreover, Israel will certainly go from its land into exile.'"17 Therefore thus saith the LORD; Thy wife shall be an harlot in the city, and thy sons and thy daughters shall fall by the sword, and thy land shall be divided by line; and thou shalt die in a polluted land: and Israel shall surely go into captivity forth of his land.17 "However, this is what the LORD says: Your wife will become a prostitute in the city, and your sons and daughters will be killed with swords. Your land will be surveyed and divided up, and you will die in an unclean land. Israel cannot avoid being taken from its land into exile." 17 Therefore thus says Yahweh: 'Your wife shall be a prostitute in the city, and your sons and your daughters shall fall by the sword, and your land shall be divided by line; and you yourself shall die in a land that is unclean, and Israel shall surely be led away captive out of his land.'"17 Therefore thus saith Jehovah: Thy wife shall be a harlot in the city, and thy sons and thy daughters shall fall by the sword, and thy land shall be divided with the line; and thou shalt die in a land that is unclean; and Israel shall certainly go into captivity, out of his land.
