| 1 Moreover, the word of the LORD came to me saying, | 1 Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, | 1 The LORD spoke his word to me. He said, | 1 Moreover the word of Yahweh came to me, saying, | 1 And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying, | 2 "Son of man, set your face against Mount Seir, and prophesy against it | 2 Son of man, set thy face against mount Seir, and prophesy against it, | 2 "Son of man, turn to Mount Seir, and prophesy against it. | 2 Son of man, set your face against Mount Seir, and prophesy against it, | 2 Son of man, set thy face against mount Seir, and prophesy against it, | 3 and say to it, 'Thus says the Lord GOD, "Behold, I am against you, Mount Seir, And I will stretch out My hand against you And make you a desolation and a waste. | 3 And say unto it, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O mount Seir, I am against thee, and I will stretch out mine hand against thee, and I will make thee most desolate. | 3 Tell it, 'This is what the Almighty LORD says: I'm against you, Mount Seir. I will use my power against you, and you will become a wasteland. | 3 and tell it, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I am against you, Mount Seir, and I will stretch out my hand against you, and I will make you a desolation and an astonishment. | 3 and say unto it, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against thee, mount Seir, and I will stretch out my hand upon thee, and I will make thee a desolation and an astonishment. | 4 "I will lay waste your cities And you will become a desolation. Then you will know that I am the LORD. | 4 I will lay thy cities waste, and thou shalt be desolate, and thou shalt know that I am the LORD. | 4 I will turn your cities into ruins, and you will become a wasteland. Then you will know that I am the LORD. | 4 I will lay your cities waste, and you shall be desolate; and you shall know that I am Yahweh. | 4 I will lay thy cities waste, and thou shalt be a desolation: and thou shalt know that I am Jehovah. | 5 "Because you have had everlasting enmity and have delivered the sons of Israel to the power of the sword at the time of their calamity, at the time of the punishment of the end, | 5 Because thou hast had a perpetual hatred, and hast shed the blood of the children of Israel by the force of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time that their iniquity had an end: | 5 " 'You have always been an enemy of Israel. You deserted the people of Israel in battle when they were in trouble during their final punishment. | 5 Because you have had a perpetual enmity, and have given over the children of Israel to the power of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time of the iniquity of the end; | 5 Because thou hast had a perpetual hatred, and hast given over the children of Israel to the power of the sword, in the time of their calamity, in the time of the iniquity of the end; | NASB | KJV | GWT | WEB | DBY |
| 6 therefore as I live," declares the Lord GOD, "I will give you over to bloodshed, and bloodshed will pursue you; since you have not hated bloodshed, therefore bloodshed will pursue you. | 6 Therefore, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will prepare thee unto blood, and blood shall pursue thee: sith thou hast not hated blood, even blood shall pursue thee. | 6 That is why, as I live, declares the Almighty LORD, I will let you be murdered. Murderers will pursue you. Since you don't hate murdering people, murder will pursue you. | 6 therefore, as I live, says the Lord Yahweh, I will prepare you for blood, and blood shall pursue you: since you have not hated blood, therefore blood shall pursue you. | 6 therefore, as I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, I will certainly appoint thee unto blood, and blood shall pursue thee; since thou hast not hated blood, blood shall pursue thee. | 7 "I will make Mount Seir a waste and a desolation and I will cut off from it the one who passes through and returns. | 7 Thus will I make mount Seir most desolate, and cut off from it him that passeth out and him that returneth. | 7 I will turn Mount Seir into a barren wasteland, and I will destroy everyone who comes or goes from there. | 7 Thus will I make Mount Seir an astonishment and a desolation; and I will cut off from it him who passes through and him who returns. | 7 And I will make mount Seir a desolation and an astonishment, and cut off from it him that passeth out and him that returneth; | 8 "I will fill its mountains with its slain; on your hills and in your valleys and in all your ravines those slain by the sword will fall. | 8 And I will fill his mountains with his slain men: in thy hills, and in thy valleys, and in all thy rivers, shall they fall that are slain with the sword. | 8 I will fill your mountains with those who have been killed. Those killed in battle will fall on your hills and in your valleys and ravines. | 8 I will fill its mountains with its slain: in your hills and in your valleys and in all your watercourses shall they fall who are slain with the sword. | 8 and I will fill his mountains with his slain. In thy hills, and in thy valleys, and in all thy water-courses shall they fall that are slain with the sword. | 9 "I will make you an everlasting desolation and your cities will not be inhabited. Then you will know that I am the LORD. | 9 I will make thee perpetual desolations, and thy cities shall not return: and ye shall know that I am the LORD. | 9 I will turn you into a permanent wasteland. Your cities will not be lived in. Then you will know that I am the LORD. | 9 I will make you a perpetual desolation, and your cities shall not be inhabited; and you shall know that I am Yahweh. | 9 I will make thee perpetual desolations, and thy cities shall not be inhabited: and ye shall know that I am Jehovah. | 10 "Because you have said, 'These two nations and these two lands will be mine, and we will possess them,' although the LORD was there, | 10 Because thou hast said, These two nations and these two countries shall be mine, and we will possess it; whereas the LORD was there: | 10 " 'You said, "These two nations, Israel and Judah, along with their land, belong to us. We will take possession of them." | 11 therefore as I live," declares the Lord GOD, "I will deal with you according to your anger and according to your envy which you showed because of your hatred against them; so I will make Myself known among them when I judge you. | 11 Therefore, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will even do according to thine anger, and according to thine envy which thou hast used out of thy hatred against them; and I will make myself known among them, when I have judged thee. | 11 That is why, as I live, declares the Almighty LORD, I will do to you what you did to them. When you were angry and jealous, you acted hatefully toward them. | 11 therefore, as I live, says the Lord Yahweh, I will do according to your anger, and according to your envy which you have shown out of your hatred against them; and I will make myself known among them, when I shall judge you. | 11 therefore, as I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, I will even do according to thine anger and according to thine envy, as thou hast done out of thy hatred against them; and I will make myself known among them, when I shall judge thee. | 12 "Then you will know that I, the LORD, have heard all your revilings which you have spoken against the mountains of Israel saying, 'They are laid desolate; they are given to us for food.' | 12 And thou shalt know that I am the LORD, and that I have heard all thy blasphemies which thou hast spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, They are laid desolate, they are given us to consume. | 12 Then you will know that I, the LORD, heard all the insults that you spoke about the mountains of Israel. You said, "They have been deserted and handed over to us to use up." | 12 You shall know that I, Yahweh, have heard all your insults which you have spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, They are laid desolate, they have been given us to devour. | 12 And thou shalt know that I Jehovah have heard all thy reproaches, which thou hast uttered against the mountains of Israel, saying, They are laid desolate, they are given us to devour. | 13 "And you have spoken arrogantly against Me and have multiplied your words against Me; I have heard it." | 13 Thus with your mouth ye have boasted against me, and have multiplied your words against me: I have heard them. | 13 You bragged and continually talked against me. I heard you. | 13 You have magnified yourselves against me with your mouth, and have multiplied your words against me: I have heard it. | 13 And ye have magnified yourselves against me with your mouth, and have multiplied your words against me: I have heard them. | 14 'Thus says the Lord GOD, "As all the earth rejoices, I will make you a desolation. | 14 Thus saith the Lord GOD; When the whole earth rejoiceth, I will make thee desolate. | 14 " 'This is what the Almighty LORD says: The whole earth will be glad when I turn you into a wasteland. | 14 Thus says the Lord Yahweh: When the whole earth rejoices, I will make you desolate. | 14 Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: When the whole earth rejoiceth, I will make thee a desolation. | 15 "As you rejoiced over the inheritance of the house of Israel because it was desolate, so I will do to you. You will be a desolation, O Mount Seir, and all Edom, all of it. Then they will know that I am the LORD."' | 15 As thou didst rejoice at the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so will I do unto thee: thou shalt be desolate, O mount Seir, and all Idumea, even all of it: and they shall know that I am the LORD. | 15 You were happy when the land of Israel became a wasteland. I will do the same thing to you. You will become a wasteland, Mount Seir, and so will all of Edom. Then you will know that I am the LORD.'" | 15 As you rejoiced over the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so will I do to you: you shall be desolate, Mount Seir, and all Edom, even all of it; and they shall know that I am Yahweh. | 15 As thou didst rejoice at the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolated, so will I do unto thee: thou shalt be a desolation, O mount Seir, and all Edom, the whole of it: and they shall know that I am Jehovah. |
