It is a permanent law for generations to come. | 3 Outside of the veil of the Testimony, in the Tent of Meeting, shall Aaron keep it in order from evening to morning before Yahweh continually: it shall be a statute forever throughout your generations. | 3 Outside the veil of the testimony, in the tent of meeting, shall Aaron dress it from evening to morning before Jehovah continually: it is an everlasting statute throughout your generations. | 4 "He shall keep the lamps in order on the pure gold lampstand before the LORD continually. | 4 He shall order the lamps upon the pure candlestick before the LORD continually. | 4 Aaron must keep the lamps on the pure gold lamp stand lit in the LORD's presence. | 4 He shall keep in order the lamps on the pure gold lampstand before Yahweh continually. | 4 Upon the pure candlestick shall he arrange the lamps before Jehovah continually. | 5 "Then you shall take fine flour and bake twelve cakes with it; two-tenths of an ephah shall be in each cake. | 5 And thou shalt take fine flour, and bake twelve cakes thereof: two tenth deals shall be in one cake. | 5 "Also take flour and bake twelve rings of bread. Each ring will contain four quarts of flour. | 5 "You shall take fine flour, and bake twelve cakes of it: two tenth parts of an ephah shall be in one cake. | 5 And thou shalt take fine wheaten flour, and bake twelve cakes thereof; each cake shall be of two tenths. | NASB | KJV | GWT | WEB | DBY |
6 "You shall set them in two rows, six to a row, on the pure gold table before the LORD. | 6 And thou shalt set them in two rows, six on a row, upon the pure table before the LORD. | 6 Put them in two stacks of six each on the gold table in the LORD's presence. | 6 You shall set them in two rows, six on a row, on the pure gold table before Yahweh. | 6 And thou shalt set them in two rows, six in a row, upon the pure table before Jehovah. | 7 "You shall put pure frankincense on each row that it may be a memorial portion for the bread, even an offering by fire to the LORD. | 7 And thou shalt put pure frankincense upon each row, that it may be on the bread for a memorial, even an offering made by fire unto the LORD. | 7 Lay pure incense on top of each stack. The incense on the bread will be a reminder, an offering by fire to the LORD. | 7 You shall put pure frankincense on each row, that it may be to the bread for a memorial, even an offering made by fire to Yahweh. | 7 And thou shalt put pure frankincense upon each row; and it shall be a bread of remembrance, an offering by fire to Jehovah. | 8 "Every sabbath day he shall set it in order before the LORD continually; it is an everlasting covenant for the sons of Israel. | 8 Every sabbath he shall set it in order before the LORD continually, being taken from the children of Israel by an everlasting covenant. | 8 Every day of worship [a priest] must arrange the bread in the LORD's presence. It is a continual reminder of my promise to the Israelites. | 8 Every Sabbath day he shall set it in order before Yahweh continually. It is on the behalf of the children of Israel an everlasting covenant. | 8 Every sabbath day he shall arrange it before Jehovah continually, on the part of the children of Israel: it is an everlasting covenant. | 9 "It shall be for Aaron and his sons, and they shall eat it in a holy place; for it is most holy to him from the LORD'S offerings by fire, his portion forever." | 9 And it shall be Aaron's and his sons'; and they shall eat it in the holy place: for it is most holy unto him of the offerings of the LORD made by fire by a perpetual statute. | 9 The bread will belong to Aaron and his sons. They will eat it in a holy place. It is very holy, set apart from the LORD's offering by fire. This is a permanent law." | 9 It shall be for Aaron and his sons; and they shall eat it in a holy place: for it is most holy to him of the offerings of Yahweh made by fire by a perpetual statute." | 9 And it shall be Aaron's and his sons'; and they shall eat it in a holy place; for it is most holy unto him of Jehovah's offerings by fire: it is an everlasting statute. | 10 Now the son of an Israelite woman, whose father was an Egyptian, went out among the sons of Israel; and the Israelite woman's son and a man of Israel struggled with each other in the camp. | 10 And the son of an Israelitish woman, whose father was an Egyptian, went out among the children of Israel: and this son of the Israelitish woman and a man of Israel strove together in the camp; | 10 A man, whose mother was Shelomith (daughter of Dibri, from the tribe of Dan in Israel) and whose father was from Egypt, got into a quarrel with an Israelite in the camp. | 10 The son of an Israelite woman, whose father was an Egyptian, went out among the children of Israel; and the son of the Israelite woman and a man of Israel strove together in the camp. | 10 And the son of an Israelitish woman but withal the son of an Egyptian, went out among the children of Israel; and this son of the Israelitess and a man of Israel strove together in the camp; | NASB | KJV | GWT | WEB | DBY |
11 The son of the Israelite woman blasphemed the Name and cursed. So they brought him to Moses. (Now his mother's name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan.) | 11 And the Israelitish woman's son blasphemed the name of the Lord, and cursed. And they brought him unto Moses: (and his mother's name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan:) | 11 The Israelite woman's son began cursing the LORD's name and treating it with contempt. So they brought him to Moses. | 11 The son of the Israelite woman blasphemed the Name, and cursed; and they brought him to Moses. His mother's name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan. | 11 and the Israelitish woman's son blasphemed the Name, and cursed; and they brought him to Moses. And his mother's name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan. | 12 They put him in custody so that the command of the LORD might be made clear to them. | 12 And they put him in ward, that the mind of the LORD might be showed them. | 12 They kept him in custody until the LORD told them what to do. | 12 They put him in custody, until the will of Yahweh should be declared to them. | 12 And they confined him, that they might decide at the mouth of Jehovah. | 13 Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, | 13 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, | 13 The LORD spoke to Moses, | 13 Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, | 13 And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying, | 14 "Bring the one who has cursed outside the camp, and let all who heard him lay their hands on his head; then let all the congregation stone him. | 14 Bring forth him that hath cursed without the camp; and let all that heard him lay their hands upon his head, and let all the congregation stone him. | 14 "The man who cursed [my name] must be taken outside the camp. All who heard him curse [my name] must lay their hands on his head. Then the whole congregation must stone him to death. | 14 "Bring out of the camp him who cursed; and let all who heard him lay their hands on his head, and let all the congregation stone him. | 14 Lead the reviler outside the camp; and all that heard him shall lay their hands upon his head, and the whole assembly shall stone him. | 15 "You shall speak to the sons of Israel, saying, 'If anyone curses his God, then he will bear his sin. | 15 And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, Whosoever curseth his God shall bear his sin. | 15 "Also tell the Israelites: Those who treat their God with contempt will be punished for their sin. | 15 You shall speak to the children of Israel, saying, 'Whoever curses his God shall bear his sin. | 15 And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, Every one when he revileth his God shall bear his sin. | NASB | KJV | GWT | WEB | DBY |
16 'Moreover, the one who blasphemes the name of the LORD shall surely be put to death; all the congregation shall certainly stone him. The alien as well as the native, when he blasphemes the Name, shall be put to death. | 16 And he that blasphemeth the name of the LORD, he shall surely be put to death, and all the congregation shall certainly stone him: as well the stranger, as he that is born in the land, when he blasphemeth the name of the Lord, shall be put to death. | 16 But those who curse the LORD's name must be put to death. The whole congregation must stone them to death. It makes no difference whether they are Israelites or foreigners. Whoever curses the LORD's name must die. | 16 He who blasphemes the name of Yahweh, he shall surely be put to death; all the congregation shall certainly stone him: the foreigner as well as the native-born, when he blasphemes the Name, shall be put to death. | 16 And he that blasphemeth the name of Jehovah shall certainly be put to death; all the assembly shall certainly stone him; as well the stranger as he that is home-born, when he blasphemeth the Name, shall be put to death. | An Eye for an Eye |
17 'If a man takes the life of any human being, he shall surely be put to death. | 17 And he that killeth any man shall surely be put to death. | 17 "Whoever kills another person must be put to death. | 17 "'He who strikes any man mortally shall surely be put to death. | 17 And if any one smiteth any man mortally, he shall certainly be put to death. | 18 'The one who takes the life of an animal shall make it good, life for life. | 18 And he that killeth a beast shall make it good; beast for beast. | 18 Whoever kills an animal must replace it, life for life. | 18 He who strikes an animal mortally shall make it good, life for life. | 18 And he that smiteth a beast mortally shall make it good, life for life. | 19 'If a man injures his neighbor, just as he has done, so it shall be done to him: | 19 And if a man cause a blemish in his neighbor; as he hath done, so shall it be done to him; | 19 Whoever injures a neighbor must receive the same injury in return- | 19 If anyone injures his neighbor; as he has done, so shall it be done to him: | 19 And if a man cause a blemish in his neighbour, as he hath done, so shall it be done to him; | 20 fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth; just as he has injured a man, so it shall be inflicted on him. | 20 Breach for breach, eye for eye, tooth for tooth: as he hath caused a blemish in a man, so shall it be done to him again. | 20 a broken bone for a broken bone, an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. Whoever injures another person must receive the same injury in return. | 20 fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth; as he has injured someone, so shall it be done to him. | 20 breach for breach, eye for eye, tooth for tooth: as he hath caused a blemish in a man, so shall it be done to him. | NASB | KJV | GWT | WEB | DBY |
21 'Thus the one who kills an animal shall make it good, but the one who kills a man shall be put to death. | 21 And he that killeth a beast, he shall restore it: and he that killeth a man, he shall be put to death. | 21 Whoever kills an animal must replace it. Whoever kills a person must be put to death. | 21 He who kills an animal shall make it good; and he who kills a man shall be put to death. | 21 He that smiteth a beast mortally shall make it good; and he that smiteth a man mortally shall be put to death. | 22 'There shall be one standard for you; it shall be for the stranger as well as the native, for I am the LORD your God.'" | 22 Ye shall have one manner of law, as well for the stranger, as for one of your own country: for I am the LORD your God. | 22 The same rule applies to every one of you. It makes no difference whether you are a foreigner or an Israelite, because I am the LORD your God." | 22 You shall have one kind of law, for the foreigner as well as the native-born: for I am Yahweh your God.'" | 22 Ye shall have one law: as the stranger, so the home-born; for I am Jehovah your God. | 23 Then Moses spoke to the sons of Israel, and they brought the one who had cursed outside the camp and stoned him with stones. Thus the sons of Israel did, just as the LORD had commanded Moses. | 23 And Moses spake to the children of Israel, that they should bring forth him that had cursed out of the camp, and stone him with stones. And the children of Israel did as the LORD commanded Moses. | 23 Moses spoke to the people of Israel. So the man who had cursed the LORD's name was taken outside the camp. There they stoned him to death as the LORD commanded Moses. The Israelites did as the LORD commanded Moses. | 23 Moses spoke to the children of Israel; and they brought forth him who had cursed out of the camp, and stoned him with stones. The children of Israel did as Yahweh commanded Moses. | 23 And Moses spoke to the children of Israel; and they led the reviler outside the camp and stoned him with stones. And the children of Israel did as Jehovah had commanded Moses. |
