A Paralytic Healed
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
1 Getting into a boat, Jesus crossed over the sea and came to His own city.1 And he entered into a ship, and passed over, and came into his own city.1 Jesus got into a boat, crossed the sea, and came to his own city.1 He entered into a boat, and crossed over, and came into his own city.1 And going on board the ship, he passed over and came to his own city.
2 And they brought to Him a paralytic lying on a bed. Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralytic, "Take courage, son; your sins are forgiven."2 And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.2 Some people brought him a paralyzed man on a stretcher. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the man, "Cheer up, friend! Your sins are forgiven."2 Behold, they brought to him a man who was paralyzed, lying on a bed. Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the paralytic, "Son, cheer up! Your sins are forgiven you."2 And behold, they brought to him a paralytic, laid upon a bed; and Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the paralytic, Be of good courage, child; thy sins are forgiven.
3 And some of the scribes said to themselves, "This fellow blasphemes."3 And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth.3 Then some of the scribes thought, "He's dishonoring God."3 Behold, some of the scribes said to themselves, "This man blasphemes."3 And behold, certain of the scribes said to themselves, This man blasphemes.
4 And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, "Why are you thinking evil in your hearts?4 And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts?4 Jesus knew what they were thinking. He asked them, "Why are you thinking evil things?4 Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, "Why do you think evil in your hearts?4 And Jesus, seeing their thoughts, said, Why do ye think evil things in your hearts?
5 "Which is easier, to say, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Get up, and walk '?5 For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk?5 Is it easier to say, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Get up and walk'?5 For which is easier, to say, 'Your sins are forgiven;' or to say, 'Get up, and walk?'5 For which is easier: to say, Thy sins are forgiven; or to say, Rise up and walk?
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
6 "But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins "-- then He said to the paralytic, "Get up, pick up your bed and go home."6 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house.6 I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins." Then he said to the paralyzed man, "Get up, pick up your stretcher, and go home."6 But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins..." (then he said to the paralytic), "Get up, and take up your mat, and go up to your house."6 But that ye may know that the Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins, (then he says to the paralytic,) Rise up, take up thy bed and go to thy house.
7 And he got up and went home.7 And he arose, and departed to his house.7 So the man got up and went home.7 He arose and departed to his house.7 And he rose up and went to his house.
8 But when the crowds saw this, they were awestruck, and glorified God, who had given such authority to men.8 But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men.8 When the crowd saw this, they were filled with awe and praised God for giving such authority to humans.8 But when the multitudes saw it, they marveled and glorified God, who had given such authority to men.8 But the crowds seeing it, were in fear, and glorified God who gave such power to men.
Matthew Called
9 As Jesus went on from there, He saw a man called Matthew, sitting in the tax collector's booth; and He said to him, "Follow Me!" And he got up and followed Him.9 And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him.9 When Jesus was leaving that place, he saw a man sitting in a tax office. The man's name was Matthew. Jesus said to him, "Follow me!" So Matthew got up and followed him.9 As Jesus passed by from there, he saw a man called Matthew sitting at the tax collection office. He said to him, "Follow me." He got up and followed him.9 And Jesus, passing on thence, saw a man sitting at the tax-office, called Matthew, and says to him, Follow me. And he rose up and followed him.
10 Then it happened that as Jesus was reclining at the table in the house, behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and were dining with Jesus and His disciples.10 And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples.10 Later Jesus was having dinner at Matthew's house. Many tax collectors and sinners came to eat with Jesus and his disciples.10 It happened as he sat in the house, behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and sat down with Jesus and his disciples.10 And it came to pass, as he lay at table in the house, that behold, many tax-gatherers and sinners came and lay at table with Jesus and his disciples.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
11 When the Pharisees saw this, they said to His disciples, "Why is your Teacher eating with the tax collectors and sinners?"11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?11 The Pharisees saw this and asked his disciples, "Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?"11 When the Pharisees saw it, they said to his disciples, "Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?"11 And the Pharisees seeing it, said to his disciples, Why does your teacher eat with tax-gatherers and sinners?
12 But when Jesus heard this, He said, "It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick.12 But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.12 When Jesus heard that, he said, "Healthy people don't need a doctor; those who are sick do.12 When Jesus heard it, he said to them, "Those who are healthy have no need for a physician, but those who are sick do.12 But Jesus hearing it, said, They that are strong have not need of a physician, but those that are ill.
13 "But go and learn what this means: 'I DESIRE COMPASSION, AND NOT SACRIFICE,' for I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners."13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.13 Learn what this means: 'I want mercy, not sacrifices.' I've come to call sinners, not people who think they have God's approval."13 But you go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,' for I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."13 But go and learn what that is I will have mercy and not sacrifice; for I have not come to call righteous men but sinners.
The Question about Fasting
14 Then the disciples of John came to Him, asking, "Why do we and the Pharisees fast, but Your disciples do not fast?"14 Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, but thy disciples fast not?14 Then John's disciples came to Jesus. They said, "Why do we and the Pharisees fast often but your disciples never do?"14 Then John's disciples came to him, saying, "Why do we and the Pharisees fast often, but your disciples don't fast?"14 Then come to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees often fast, but thy disciples fast not?
15 And Jesus said to them, "The attendants of the bridegroom cannot mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them, can they? But the days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast.15 And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast.15 Jesus replied, "Can wedding guests be sad while the groom is still with them? The time will come when the groom will be taken away from them. Then they will fast.15 Jesus said to them, "Can the friends of the bridegroom mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast.15 And Jesus said to them, Can the sons of the bridechamber mourn so long as the bridegroom is with them? But days will come when the bridegroom will have been taken away from them, and then they will fast.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
16 "But no one puts a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; for the patch pulls away from the garment, and a worse tear results.16 No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse.16 "No one patches an old coat with a new piece of cloth that will shrink. When the patch shrinks, it will rip away from the coat, and the tear will become worse.16 No one puts a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; for the patch would tear away from the garment, and a worse hole is made.16 But no one puts a patch of new cloth on an old garment, for its filling up takes from the garment and a worse rent takes place.
17 "Nor do people put new wine into old wineskins; otherwise the wineskins burst, and the wine pours out and the wineskins are ruined; but they put new wine into fresh wineskins, and both are preserved."17 Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.17 Nor do people pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins burst, the wine runs out, and the skins are ruined. Rather, people pour new wine into fresh skins, and both are saved."17 Neither do people put new wine into old wineskins, or else the skins would burst, and the wine be spilled, and the skins ruined. No, they put new wine into fresh wineskins, and both are preserved."17 Nor do men put new wine into old skins, otherwise the skins burst and the wine is poured out, and the skins will be destroyed; but they put new wine into new skins, and both are preserved together.
Miracles of Healing
18 While He was saying these things to them, a synagogue official came and bowed down before Him, and said, "My daughter has just died; but come and lay Your hand on her, and she will live."18 While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.18 A [synagogue] leader came to Jesus while he was talking to John's disciples. He bowed down in front of Jesus and said, "My daughter just died. Come, lay your hand on her, and she will live."18 While he told these things to them, behold, a ruler came and worshiped him, saying, "My daughter has just died, but come and lay your hand on her, and she will live."18 As he spoke these things to them, behold, a ruler coming in did homage to him, saying, My daughter has by this died; but come and lay thy hand upon her and she shall live.
19 Jesus got up and began to follow him, and so did His disciples.19 And Jesus arose, and followed him, and so did his disciples.19 Jesus and his disciples got up and followed the man.19 Jesus got up and followed him, as did his disciples.19 And Jesus rose up and followed him, and so did his disciples.
20 And a woman who had been suffering from a hemorrhage for twelve years, came up behind Him and touched the fringe of His cloak;20 And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment:20 Then a woman came up behind Jesus and touched the edge of his clothes. She had been suffering from chronic bleeding for twelve years.20 Behold, a woman who had an issue of blood for twelve years came behind him, and touched the fringe of his garment;20 And behold, a woman, who had had a bloody flux for twelve years, came behind and touched the hem of his garment;
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
21 for she was saying to herself, "If I only touch His garment, I will get well."21 For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.21 She thought, "If I only touch his clothes, I'll get well."21 for she said within herself, "If I just touch his garment, I will be made well."21 for she said within herself, If I should only touch his garment I shall be healed.
22 But Jesus turning and seeing her said, "Daughter, take courage; your faith has made you well." At once the woman was made well.22 But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.22 When Jesus turned and saw her he said, "Cheer up, daughter! Your faith has made you well." At that very moment the woman became well.22 But Jesus, turning around and seeing her, said, "Daughter, cheer up! Your faith has made you well." And the woman was made well from that hour.22 But Jesus turning and seeing her, said, Be of good courage, daughter; thy faith has healed thee. And the woman was healed from that hour.
23 When Jesus came into the official's house, and saw the flute-players and the crowd in noisy disorder,23 And when Jesus came into the ruler's house, and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise,23 Jesus came to the [synagogue] leader's house. He saw flute players and a noisy crowd.23 When Jesus came into the ruler's house, and saw the flute players, and the crowd in noisy disorder,23 And when Jesus was come to the house of the ruler, and saw the flute-players and the crowd making a tumult,
24 He said, "Leave; for the girl has not died, but is asleep." And they began laughing at Him.24 He said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn.24 He said to them, "Leave! The girl is not dead. She's sleeping." But they laughed at him.24 he said to them, "Make room, because the girl isn't dead, but sleeping." They were ridiculing him.24 he said, Withdraw, for the damsel is not dead, but sleeps. And they derided him.
25 But when the crowd had been sent out, He entered and took her by the hand, and the girl got up.25 But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose.25 When the crowd had been put outside, Jesus went in, took her hand, and the girl came back to life.25 But when the crowd was put out, he entered in, took her by the hand, and the girl arose.25 But when the crowd had been put out, he went in and took her hand; and the damsel rose up.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
26 This news spread throughout all that land.26 And the fame hereof went abroad into all that land.26 The news about this spread throughout that region.26 The report of this went out into all that land.26 And the fame of it went out into all that land.
27 As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out, "Have mercy on us, Son of David!"27 And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou son of David, have mercy on us.27 When Jesus left that place, two blind men followed him. They shouted, "Have mercy on us, Son of David."27 As Jesus passed by from there, two blind men followed him, calling out and saying, "Have mercy on us, son of David!"27 And as Jesus passed on thence, two blind men followed him, crying and saying, Have mercy on us, Son of David.
28 When He entered the house, the blind men came up to Him, and Jesus said to them, "Do you believe that I am able to do this?" They said to Him, "Yes, Lord."28 And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord.28 Jesus went into a house, and the blind men followed him. He said to them, "Do you believe that I can do this?" "Yes, Lord," they answered.28 When he had come into the house, the blind men came to him. Jesus said to them, "Do you believe that I am able to do this?" They told him, "Yes, Lord."28 And when he was come to the house, the blind men came to him. And Jesus says to them, Do ye believe that I am able to do this? They say to him, Yea, Lord.
29 Then He touched their eyes, saying, "It shall be done to you according to your faith."29 Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.29 He touched their eyes and said, "What you have believed will be done for you!"29 Then he touched their eyes, saying, "According to your faith be it done to you."29 Then he touched their eyes, saying, According to your faith, be it unto you.
30 And their eyes were opened. And Jesus sternly warned them: "See that no one knows about this!"30 And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See that no man know it.30 Then they could see. He warned them, "Don't let anyone know about this!"30 Their eyes were opened. Jesus strictly commanded them, saying, "See that no one knows about this."30 And their eyes were opened; and Jesus charged them sharply, saying, See, let no man know it.

31 But they went out and spread the news about Him throughout all that land.31 But they, when they were departed, spread abroad his fame in all that country.31 But they went out and spread the news about him throughout that region.31 But they went out and spread abroad his fame in all that land.31 But they, when they were gone out, spread his name abroad in all that land.
32 As they were going out, a mute, demon-possessed man was brought to Him.32 As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil.32 As they were leaving, some people brought a man to Jesus. The man was unable to talk because he was possessed by a demon.32 As they went out, behold, a mute man who was demon possessed was brought to him.32 But as these were going out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed by a demon.
33 After the demon was cast out, the mute man spoke; and the crowds were amazed, and were saying, "Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel."33 And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel.33 But as soon as the demon was forced out, the man began to speak. The crowds were amazed and said, "We have never seen anything like this in Israel!"33 When the demon was cast out, the mute man spoke. The multitudes marveled, saying, "Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel!"33 And the demon having been cast out, the dumb spake. And the crowds were astonished, saying, It has never been seen thus in Israel.
34 But the Pharisees were saying, "He casts out the demons by the ruler of the demons."34 But the Pharisees said, He casteth out devils through the prince of the devils.34 But the Pharisees said, "He forces demons out of people with the help of the ruler of demons."34 But the Pharisees said, "By the prince of the demons, he casts out demons."34 But the Pharisees said, He casts out the demons through the prince of the demons.
35 Jesus was going through all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness.35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.35 Jesus went to all the towns and villages. He taught in the synagogues and spread the Good News of the kingdom. He also cured every disease and sickness.35 Jesus went about all the cities and the villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the Good News of the Kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness among the people.35 And Jesus went round all the cities and the villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the glad tidings of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every bodily weakness.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
36 Seeing the people, He felt compassion for them, because they were distressed and dispirited like sheep without a shepherd.36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.36 When he saw the crowds, he felt sorry for them. They were troubled and helpless like sheep without a shepherd.36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion for them, because they were harassed and scattered, like sheep without a shepherd.36 But when he saw the crowds he was moved with compassion for them, because they were harassed, and cast away as sheep not having a shepherd.
37 Then He said to His disciples, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;37 Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is large, but the workers are few.37 Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest indeed is plentiful, but the laborers are few.37 Then saith he to his disciples, The harvest is great and the workmen are few;
38 "Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest."38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.38 So ask the Lord who gives this harvest to send workers to harvest his crops."38 Pray therefore that the Lord of the harvest will send out laborers into his harvest."38 supplicate therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he send forth workmen unto his harvest.
