| 1 And the dragon stood on the sand of the seashore. Then I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads, and on his horns were ten diadems, and on his heads were blasphemous names. | 1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. | 1 I saw a beast coming out of the sea. It had ten horns, seven heads, and ten crowns on its horns. There were insulting names on its heads. | 1 Then I stood on the sand of the sea. And the whole earth was amazed and followed after the beast; | 3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. | 3 One of the beast's heads looked like it had a fatal wound, but its fatal wound was healed. All the people of the world were amazed and followed the beast. | 3 One of his heads looked like it had been wounded fatally. His fatal wound was healed, and the whole earth marveled at the beast. | 3 and one of his heads was as slain to death, and his wound of death had been healed: and the whole earth wondered after the beast. | 4 they worshiped the dragon because he gave his authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, "Who is like the beast, and who is able to wage war with him?" | 4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? | 4 They worshiped the serpent because it had given authority to the beast. They also worshiped the beast and said, "Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?" | 4 And they did homage to the dragon, because he gave the authority to the beast; and they did homage to the beast, saying, Who is like to the beast? and who can make war with it? | 5 There was given to him a mouth speaking arrogant words and blasphemies, and authority to act for forty-two months was given to him. | 5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. | 5 The beast was allowed to speak arrogant and insulting things. That book belongs to the lamb who was slaughtered before the creation of the world. | 8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, everyone whose name has not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who has been killed. | 8 and all that dwell on the earth shall do it homage, every one whose name had not been written from the founding of the world in the book of life of the slain Lamb. | 9 If anyone has an ear, let him hear. | 9 If any man have an ear, let him hear. | 9 If anyone has ears, let him listen: | 9 If anyone has an ear, let him hear. | 9 If any one has an ear, let him hear. | 10 If anyone is destined for captivity, to captivity he goes; if anyone kills with the sword, with the sword he must be killed. Here is the perseverance and the faith of the saints. | 10 He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints. | 10 If anyone is taken prisoner, he must go to prison. If anyone is killed with a sword, with a sword he must be killed. In this situation God's holy people need endurance and confidence. | 10 If anyone is to go into captivity, he will go into captivity. If anyone is to be killed with the sword, he must be killed. Here is the endurance and the faith of the saints. | 10 If any one leads into captivity, he goes into captivity. If any one shall kill with the sword, he must with the sword be killed. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for the number is that of a man; and his number is six hundred and sixty-six. | 18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six. | 18 In this situation wisdom is needed. Let the person who has insight figure out the number of the beast, because it is a human number. The beast's number is 666. | 18 Here is wisdom.
