The Fifth Trumpet—the Bottomless Pit
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 Then the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star from heaven which had fallen to the earth; and the key of the bottomless pit was given to him.1 And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit.1 When the fifth angel blew his trumpet, I saw a star that had fallen to earth from the sky. The star was given the key to the shaft of the bottomless pit.1 The fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star from the sky which had fallen to the earth. The key to the pit of the abyss was given to him.1 And the fifth angel sounded his trumpet: and I saw a star out of the heaven fallen to the earth; and there was given to it the key of the pit of the abyss.
 He opened the bottomless pit, and smoke went up out of the pit, like the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by the smoke of the pit.2 And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.2 It opened the shaft of the bottomless pit, and smoke came out of the shaft like the smoke from a large furnace. The smoke darkened the sun and the air.2 He opened the pit of the abyss, and smoke went up out of the pit, like the smoke from a burning furnace. The sun and the air were darkened because of the smoke from the pit.2 And it opened the pit of the abyss; and there went up smoke out of the pit as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened with the smoke of the pit.
 Then out of the smoke came locusts upon the earth, and power was given them, as the scorpions of the earth have power.3 And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.3 Locusts came out of the smoke onto the earth, and they were given power like the power of earthly scorpions.3 Then out of the smoke came forth locusts on the earth, and power was given to them, as the scorpions of the earth have power.3 And out of the smoke came forth locusts on the earth, and power was given to them as the scorpions of the earth have power;
 They were told not to hurt the grass of the earth, nor any green thing, nor any tree, but only the men who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads.4 And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.4 They were told not to harm any grass, green plant, or tree on the earth. They could harm only the people who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads.4 They were told that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree, but only those people who don't have God's seal on their foreheads.4 and it was said to them, that they should not injure the grass of the earth, nor any green thing, nor any tree, but the men who have not the seal of God on their foreheads:
 And they were not permitted to kill anyone, but to torment for five months; and their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it stings a man.5 And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man.5 They were not allowed to kill them. They were only allowed to torture them for five months. Their torture was like the pain of a scorpion's sting.5 They were given power not to kill them, but to torment them for five months. Their torment was like the torment of a scorpion, when it strikes a person.5 and it was given to them that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months; and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion when it strikes a man.

 And in those days men will seek death and will not find it; they will long to die, and death flees from them.6 And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.6 At that time people will look for death and never find it. They will long to die, but death will escape them.6 In those days people will seek death, and will in no way find it. They will desire to die, and death will flee from them.6 And in those days shall men seek death, and shall in no way find it; and shall desire to die, and death flees from them.
 The appearance of the locusts was like horses prepared for battle; and on their heads appeared to be crowns like gold, and their faces were like the faces of men.7 And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men.7 The locusts looked like horses prepared for battle. They seemed to have crowns that looked like gold on their heads. Their faces were like human faces.7 The shapes of the locusts were like horses prepared for war. On their heads were something like golden crowns, and their faces were like people's faces.7 And the likenesses of the locusts were like to horses prepared for war; and upon their heads as crowns like gold, and their faces as faces of men;
 They had hair like the hair of women, and their teeth were like the teeth of lions.8 And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions.8 They had hair like women's hair and teeth like lions' teeth.8 They had hair like women's hair, and their teeth were like those of lions.8 and they had hair as women's hair, and their teeth were as of lions,
 They had breastplates like breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was like the sound of chariots, of many horses rushing to battle.9 And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle.9 They had breastplates like iron. The noise from their wings was like the roar of chariots with many horses rushing into battle.9 They had breastplates, like breastplates of iron. The sound of their wings was like the sound of chariots, or of many horses rushing to war.9 and they had breastplates as breastplates of iron, and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to war;
 They have tails like scorpions, and stings; and in their tails is their power to hurt men for five months.10 And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months.10 They had tails and stingers like scorpions. They had the power to hurt people with their tails for five months.10 They have tails like those of scorpions, and stings. In their tails they have power to harm men for five months.10 and they have tails like scorpions, and stings; and their power was in their tails to hurt men five months.

 They have as king over them, the angel of the abyss; his name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in the Greek he has the name Apollyon.11 And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.11 The king who ruled them was the angel from the bottomless pit. In Hebrew he is called Abaddon, and in Greek he is called Apollyon.11 They have over them as king the angel of the abyss. His name in Hebrew is "Abaddon," but in Greek, he has the name "Apollyon."11 They have a king over them, the angel of the abyss: his name in Hebrew, Abaddon, and in Greek he has for name Apollyon.
 The first woe is past; behold, two woes are still coming after these things.12 One woe is past; and, behold, there come two woes more hereafter.12 The first catastrophe is over. After these things there are two more catastrophes yet to come.12 The first woe is past. Behold, there are still two woes coming after this.12 The first woe has passed. Behold, there come yet two woes after these things.
The Sixth Trumpet—Army from the East
 Then the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God,13 And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God,13 When the sixth angel blew his trumpet, I heard a voice from the four horns of the gold altar in front of God.13 The sixth angel sounded. I heard a voice from the horns of the golden altar which is before God,13 And the sixth angel sounded his trumpet: and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God,
 one saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, "Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates."14 Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates.14 The voice said to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, "Release the four angels who are held at the great Euphrates River."14 saying to the sixth angel who had one trumpet, "Free the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates!"14 saying to the sixth angel that had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound at the great river Euphrates.
 And the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, were released, so that they would kill a third of mankind.15 And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men.15 The four angels who were ready for that hour, day, month, and year were released to kill one-third of humanity.15 The four angels were freed who had been prepared for that hour and day and month and year, so that they might kill one third of mankind.15 And the four angels were loosed, who are prepared for the hour and day and month and year, that they might slay the third part of men;

 The number of the armies of the horsemen was two hundred million; I heard the number of them.16 And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them.16 The soldiers on horses numbered 20,000 times 10,000. I heard how many there were.16 The number of the armies of the horsemen was two hundred million. I heard the number of them.16 and the number of the hosts of horse was twice ten thousand times ten thousand. I heard their number.
 And this is how I saw in the vision the horses and those who sat on them: the riders had breastplates the color of fire and of hyacinth and of brimstone; and the heads of the horses are like the heads of lions; and out of their mouths proceed fire and smoke and brimstone.17 And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone.17 In the vision that I had, the horses and their riders looked like this: The riders had breastplates that were fiery red, pale blue, and yellow. The horses had heads like lions. Fire, smoke, and sulfur came out of their mouths.17 Thus I saw the horses in the vision, and those who sat on them, having breastplates of fiery red, hyacinth blue, and sulfur yellow; and the heads of lions. Out of their mouths proceed fire, smoke, and sulfur.17 And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and those that sat upon them, having breastplates of fire and jacinth and brimstone; and the heads of the horses were as heads of lions, and out of their mouths goes out fire and smoke and brimstone.
 A third of mankind was killed by these three plagues, by the fire and the smoke and the brimstone which proceeded out of their mouths.18 By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths.18 These three plagues-the fire, smoke, and sulfur which came out of their mouths-killed one-third of humanity.18 By these three plagues were one third of mankind killed: by the fire, the smoke, and the sulfur, which proceeded out of their mouths.18 By these three plagues were the third part of men killed, by the fire and the smoke and the brimstone which goes out of their mouths.
 For the power of the horses is in their mouths and in their tails; for their tails are like serpents and have heads, and with them they do harm.19 For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt.19 The power of these horses is in their mouths and their tails. (Their tails have heads like snakes which they use to hurt people.)19 For the power of the horses is in their mouths, and in their tails. For their tails are like serpents, and have heads, and with them they harm.19 For the power of the horses is in their mouth and in their tails: for their tails are like serpents, having heads, and with them they injure.
 The rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, so as not to worship demons, and the idols of gold and of silver and of brass and of stone and of wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk;20 And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:20 The people who survived these plagues still did not turn to me and change the way they were thinking and acting. If they had, they would have stopped worshiping demons and idols made of gold, silver, bronze, stone, and wood, which cannot see, hear, or walk.20 The rest of mankind, who were not killed with these plagues, didn't repent of the works of their hands, that they wouldn't worship demons, and the idols of gold, and of silver, and of brass, and of stone, and of wood; which can neither see, nor hear, nor walk.20 And the rest of men who were not killed with these plagues repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons, and the golden and silver and brazen and stone and wooden idols, which can neither see nor hear nor walk.

 and they did not repent of their murders nor of their sorceries nor of their immorality nor of their thefts.21 Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.21 They did not turn away from committing murder, practicing witchcraft, sinning sexually, or stealing.21 They didn't repent of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their sexual immorality, nor of their thefts.21 And they repented not of their murders, nor of their witchcrafts, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.
