The Word of Faith Brings Salvation | ||||
NASB | KJV | GWT | WEB | DBY |
1 Brethren, my heart's desire and my prayer to God for them is for their salvation. | 1 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. | 1 Brothers and sisters, my heart's desire and prayer to God on behalf of the Jewish people is that they would be saved. | 1 Brothers, my heart's desire and my prayer to God is for Israel, that they may be saved. | 1 Brethren, the delight of my own heart and my supplication which I address to God for them is for salvation. | 2 For I testify about them that they have a zeal for God, but not in accordance with knowledge. | 2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. | 2 I can assure you that they are deeply devoted to God, but they are misguided. | 2 For I testify about them that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. | 2 For I bear them witness that they have zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. | 3 For not knowing about God's righteousness and seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God. | 3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. | 3 They don't understand [how to receive] God's approval. So they try to set up their own way to get it, and they have not accepted God's way for receiving his approval. | 3 For being ignorant of God's righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, they didn't subject themselves to the righteousness of God. | 3 For they, being ignorant of God's righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God. | 4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. | 4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. | 4 Christ is the fulfillment of Moses' Teachings so that everyone who has faith may receive God's approval. | 4 For Christ is the fulfillment of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. | 4 For Christ is the end of law for righteousness to every one that believes. | 5 For Moses writes that the man who practices the righteousness which is based on law shall live by that righteousness. | 5 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them. | 5 Moses writes about receiving God's approval by following his laws. He says, "The person who obeys laws will live because of the laws he obeys." | 5 For Moses writes about the righteousness of the law, "The one who does them will live by them." | 5 For Moses lays down in writing the righteousness which is of the law, The man who has practised those things shall live by them. | NASB | KJV | GWT | WEB | DBY |
6 But the righteousness based on faith speaks as follows: "DO NOT SAY IN YOUR HEART, 'WHO WILL ASCEND INTO HEAVEN?' (that is, to bring Christ down), | 6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:) | 6 However, Scripture says about God's approval which is based on faith, "Don't ask yourself who will go up to heaven," (that is, to bring Christ down). | 6 But the righteousness which is of faith says this, "Don't say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?' (that is, to bring Christ down); | 6 But the righteousness of faith speaks thus: Do not say in thine heart, Who shall ascend to the heavens? that is, to bring Christ down; | 7 or 'WHO WILL DESCEND INTO THE ABYSS?' (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead)." | 7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.) | 7 "Don't ask who will go down into the depths," (that is, to bring Christ back from the dead). | 7 or, 'Who will descend into the abyss?' (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead.)" | 7 or, Who shall descend into the abyss? that is, to bring up Christ from among the dead. | 8 But what does it say? "THE WORD IS NEAR YOU, IN YOUR MOUTH AND IN YOUR HEART "-- that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, | 8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; | 8 However, what else does it say? "This message is near you. It's in your mouth and in your heart." This is the message of faith that we spread. | 8 But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth, and in your heart;" that is, the word of faith, which we preach: | 8 But what says it? The word is near thee, in thy mouth and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach: | 9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; | 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. | 9 If you declare that Jesus is Lord, and believe that God brought him back to life, you will be saved. | 9 that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. | 9 that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth Jesus as Lord, and shalt believe in thine heart that God has raised him from among the dead, thou shalt be saved. | 10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. | 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. | 10 By believing you receive God's approval, and by declaring your faith you are saved. | 10 For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. | 10 For with the heart is believed to righteousness; and with the mouth confession made to salvation. | NASB | KJV | GWT | WEB | DBY |
11 For the Scripture says, "WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED." | 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. | 11 Scripture says, "Whoever believes in him will not be ashamed." | 11 For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed." | 11 For the scripture says, No one believing on him shall be ashamed. | 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him; | 12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. | 12 There is no difference between Jews and Greeks. They all have the same Lord, who gives his riches to everyone who calls on him. | 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, and is rich to all who call on him. | 12 For there is no difference of Jew and Greek; for the same Lord of all is rich towards all that call upon him. | 13 for "WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED." | 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. | 13 So then, "Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." | 13 For, "Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved." | 13 For every one whosoever, who shall call on the name of the Lord, shall be saved. | 14 How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher? | 14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? | 14 But how can people call on him if they have not believed in him? How can they believe in him if they have not heard his message? How can they hear if no one tells [the Good News]? | 14 How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in him whom they have not heard? How will they hear without a preacher? | 14 How then shall they call upon him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe on him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without one who preaches? | 15 How will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, "HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF THOSE WHO BRING GOOD NEWS OF GOOD THINGS!" | 15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! | 15 How can people tell the Good News if no one sends them? As Scripture says, "How beautiful are the feet of the messengers who announce the Good News." | 15 And how will they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the Good News of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!" | 15 and how shall they preach unless they have been sent? according as it is written, How beautiful the feet of them that announce glad tidings of peace, of them that announce glad tidings of good things! | NASB | KJV | GWT | WEB | DBY |
16 However, they did not all heed the good news; for Isaiah says, "LORD, WHO HAS BELIEVED OUR REPORT?" | 16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? | 16 But not everyone has believed the Good News. Isaiah asks, "Lord, who has believed our message?" | 16 But they didn't all listen to the glad news. For Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed our report?" | 16 But they have not all obeyed the glad tidings. For Esaias says, Lord, who has believed our report? | 17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. | 17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. | 17 So faith comes from hearing the message, and the message that is heard is what Christ spoke. | 17 So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. | 17 So faith then is by a report, but the report by God's word. | 18 But I say, surely they have never heard, have they? Indeed they have; "THEIR VOICE HAS GONE OUT INTO ALL THE EARTH, AND THEIR WORDS TO THE ENDS OF THE WORLD." | 18 But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world. | 18 But I ask, "Didn't they hear that message?" Certainly they did! "The voice of the messengers has gone out into the whole world and their words to the ends of the earth." | 18 But I say, didn't they hear? Yes, most certainly, "Their sound went out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world." | 18 But I say, Have they not heard? Yea, surely, Their voice has gone out into all the earth, and their words to the extremities of the habitable world. | 19 But I say, surely Israel did not know, did they? First Moses says, "I WILL MAKE YOU JEALOUS BY THAT WHICH IS NOT A NATION, BY A NATION WITHOUT UNDERSTANDING WILL I ANGER YOU." | 19 But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you. | 19 Again I ask, "Didn't Israel understand [that message]?" Moses was the first to say, "I will make you jealous of people who are not a nation. I will make you angry about a nation that doesn't understand." | 19 But I ask, didn't Israel know? First Moses says, "I will provoke you to jealousy with that which is no nation, with a nation void of understanding I will make you angry." | 19 But I say, Has not Israel known? First, Moses says, I will provoke you to jealousy through them that are not a nation: through a nation without understanding I will anger you. | 20 And Isaiah is very bold and says, "I WAS FOUND BY THOSE WHO DID NOT SEEK ME, I BECAME MANIFEST TO THOSE WHO DID NOT ASK FOR ME." | 20 But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me. | 20 Isaiah said very boldly, "I was found by those who weren't looking for me. I was revealed to those who weren't asking for me." | 20 Isaiah is very bold, and says, "I was found by those who didn't seek me. I was revealed to those who didn't ask for me." | 20 But Esaias is very bold, and says, I have been found by those not seeking me; I have become manifest to those not inquiring after me. | NASB | KJV | GWT | WEB | DBY |
21 But as for Israel He says, "ALL THE DAY LONG I HAVE STRETCHED OUT MY HANDS TO A DISOBEDIENT AND OBSTINATE PEOPLE." | 21 But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people. | 21 Then Isaiah said about Israel, "All day long I have stretched out my hands to disobedient and rebellious people." | 21 But as to Israel he says, "All day long I stretched out my hands to a disobedient and contrary people." | 21 But unto Israel he says, All the day long I have stretched out my hands unto a people disobeying and opposing. |
