1 Now accept the one who is weak in faith, but not for the purpose of passing judgment on his opinions.1 Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.1 Welcome people who are weak in faith, but don't get into an argument over differences of opinion.1 Now accept one who is weak in faith, but not for disputes over opinions.1 Now him that is weak in the faith receive, not to the determining of questions of reasoning.
2 One person has faith that he may eat all things, but he who is weak eats vegetables only.2 For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.2 Some people believe that they can eat all kinds of food. Other people with weak faith believe that they can eat only vegetables.2 One man has faith to eat all things, but he who is weak eats only vegetables.2 One man is assured that he may eat all things; but the weak eats herbs.
3 The one who eats is not to regard with contempt the one who does not eat, and the one who does not eat is not to judge the one who eats, for God has accepted him.3 Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.3 People who eat all foods should not despise people who eat only vegetables. In the same way, the vegetarians should not criticize people who eat all foods, because God has accepted those people.3 Don't let him who eats despise him who doesn't eat. Don't let him who doesn't eat judge him who eats, for God has accepted him.3 Let not him that eats make little of him that eats not; and let not him that eats not judge him that eats: for God has received him.
4 Who are you to judge the servant of another? To his own master he stands or falls; and he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.4 Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.4 Who are you to criticize someone else's servant? The Lord will determine whether his servant has been successful. The servant will be successful because the Lord makes him successful.4 Who are you who judge another's servant? To his own lord he stands or falls. Yes, he will be made to stand, for God has power to make him stand.4 Who art thou that judgest the servant of another? to his own master he stands or falls. And he shall be made to stand; for the Lord is able to make him stand.
5 One person regards one day above another, another regards every day alike. Each person must be fully convinced in his own mind.5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.5 One person decides that one day is holier than another. Another person decides that all days are the same. Every person must make his own decision.5 One man esteems one day as more important. Another esteems every day alike. Let each man be fully assured in his own mind.5 One man esteems day more than day; another esteems every day alike. Let each be fully persuaded in his own mind.

6 He who observes the day, observes it for the Lord, and he who eats, does so for the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who eats not, for the Lord he does not eat, and gives thanks to God.6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.6 When people observe a special day, they observe it to honor the Lord. When people eat all kinds of foods, they honor the Lord as they eat, since they give thanks to God. Vegetarians also honor the Lord when they eat, and they, too, give thanks to God.6 He who observes the day, observes it to the Lord; and he who does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it. He who eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives God thanks. He who doesn't eat, to the Lord he doesn't eat, and gives God thanks.6 He that regards the day, regards it to the Lord. And he that eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives God thanks; and he that does not eat, it is to the Lord he does not eat, and gives God thanks.
7 For not one of us lives for himself, and not one dies for himself;7 For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.7 It's clear that we don't live to honor ourselves, and we don't die to honor ourselves.7 For none of us lives to himself, and none dies to himself.7 For none of us lives to himself, and none dies to himself.
8 for if we live, we live for the Lord, or if we die, we die for the Lord; therefore whether we live or die, we are the Lord's.8 For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.8 If we live, we honor the Lord, and if we die, we honor the Lord. So whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.8 For if we live, we live to the Lord. Or if we die, we die to the Lord. If therefore we live or die, we are the Lord's.8 For both if we should live, it is to the Lord we live; and if we should die, it is to the Lord we die: both if we should live then, and if we should die, we are the Lord's.
9 For to this end Christ died and lived again, that He might be Lord both of the dead and of the living.9 For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.9 For this reason Christ died and came back to life so that he would be the Lord of both the living and the dead.9 For to this end Christ died, rose, and lived again, that he might be Lord of both the dead and the living.9 For to this end Christ has died and lived again, that he might rule over both dead and living.
10 But you, why do you judge your brother? Or you again, why do you regard your brother with contempt? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God.10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.10 Why do you criticize or despise other Christians? Everyone will stand in front of God to be judged.10 But you, why do you judge your brother? Or you again, why do you despise your brother? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.10 But thou, why judgest thou thy brother? or again, thou, why dost thou make little of thy brother? for we shall all be placed before the judgment-seat of God.

11 For it is written, "AS I LIVE, SAYS THE LORD, EVERY KNEE SHALL BOW TO ME, AND EVERY TONGUE SHALL GIVE PRAISE TO GOD."11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.11 Scripture says, "As certainly as I live, says the Lord, everyone will worship me, and everyone will praise God."11 For it is written, "'As I live,' says the Lord, 'to me every knee will bow. Every tongue will confess to God.'"11 For it is written, I live, saith the Lord, that to me shall bow every knee, and every tongue shall confess to God.
12 So then each one of us will give an account of himself to God.12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.12 All of us will have to give an account of ourselves to God.12 So then each one of us will give account of himself to God.12 So then each of us shall give an account concerning himself to God.
13 Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather determine this-- not to put an obstacle or a stumbling block in a brother's way.13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.13 So let's stop criticizing each other. Instead, you should decide never to do anything that would make other Christians have doubts or lose their faith.13 Therefore let's not judge one another any more, but judge this rather, that no man put a stumbling block in his brother's way, or an occasion for falling.13 Let us no longer therefore judge one another; but judge ye this rather, not to put a stumbling-block or a fall-trap before his brother.
14 I know and am convinced in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in itself; but to him who thinks anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean.14 I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.14 The Lord Jesus has given me the knowledge and conviction that no food is unacceptable in and of itself. But it is unacceptable to a person who thinks it is.14 I know, and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean of itself; except that to him who considers anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean.14 I know, and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean of itself; except to him who reckons anything to be unclean, to that man it is unclean.
15 For if because of food your brother is hurt, you are no longer walking according to love. Do not destroy with your food him for whom Christ died.15 But if thy brother be grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died.15 So if what you eat hurts another Christian, you are no longer living by love. Don't destroy anyone by what you eat. Christ died for that person.15 Yet if because of food your brother is grieved, you walk no longer in love. Don't destroy with your food him for whom Christ died.15 For if on account of meat thy brother is grieved, thou walkest no longer according to love. Destroy not him with thy meat for whom Christ has died.

16 Therefore do not let what is for you a good thing be spoken of as evil;16 Let not then your good be evil spoken of:16 Don't allow anyone to say that what you consider good is evil.16 Then don't let your good be slandered,16 Let not then your good be evil spoken of;
17 for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.17 God's kingdom does not consist of what a person eats or drinks. Rather, God's kingdom consists of God's approval and peace, as well as the joy that the Holy Spirit gives.17 for the Kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.17 for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.
18 For he who in this way serves Christ is acceptable to God and approved by men.18 For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men.18 The person who serves Christ with this in mind is pleasing to God and respected by people.18 For he who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and approved by men.18 For he that in this serves the Christ is acceptable to God and approved of men.
19 So then we pursue the things which make for peace and the building up of one another.19 Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.19 So let's pursue those things which bring peace and which are good for each other.19 So then, let us follow after things which make for peace, and things by which we may build one another up.19 So then let us pursue the things which tend to peace, and things whereby one shall build up another.
20 Do not tear down the work of God for the sake of food. All things indeed are clean, but they are evil for the man who eats and gives offense.20 For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence.20 Don't ruin God's work because of what you eat. All food is acceptable, but it's wrong for a person to eat something if it causes someone else to have doubts.20 Don't overthrow God's work for food's sake. All things indeed are clean, however it is evil for that man who creates a stumbling block by eating.20 For the sake of meat do not destroy the work of God. All things indeed are pure; but it is evil to that man who eats while stumbling in doing so.

21 It is good not to eat meat or to drink wine, or to do anything by which your brother stumbles.21 It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.21 The right thing to do is to avoid eating meat, drinking wine, or doing anything else that causes another Christian to have doubts.21 It is good to not eat meat, drink wine, nor do anything by which your brother stumbles, is offended, or is made weak.21 It is right not to eat meat, nor drink wine, nor do anything in which thy brother stumbles, or is offended, or is weak.
22 The faith which you have, have as your own conviction before God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves.22 Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.22 So whatever you believe about these things, keep it between yourself and God. The person who does what he knows is right shouldn't feel guilty. He is blessed.22 Do you have faith? Have it to yourself before God. Happy is he who doesn't judge himself in that which he approves.22 Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Blessed is he who does not judge himself in what he allows.
23 But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because his eating is not from faith; and whatever is not from faith is sin.23 And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.23 But if a person has doubts and still eats, he is condemned because he didn't act in faith. Anything that is not done in faith is sin.23 But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because it isn't of faith; and whatever is not of faith is sin.23 But he that doubts, if he eat, is condemned; because it is not of faith; but whatever is not of faith is sin.
