Jesus Heals on the Sabbath
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
1 He entered again into a synagogue; and a man was there whose hand was withered.1 And he entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there which had a withered hand.1 Jesus went into a synagogue again. A man who had a paralyzed hand was there.1 He entered again into the synagogue, and there was a man there who had his hand withered.1 And he entered again into the synagogue; and there was there a man having his hand dried up.
2 They were watching Him to see if He would heal him on the Sabbath, so that they might accuse Him.2 And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him.2 The people were watching Jesus closely. They wanted to see whether he would heal the man on the day of worship so that they could accuse him of doing something wrong.2 They watched him, whether he would heal him on the Sabbath day, that they might accuse him.2 And they watched him if he would heal him on the sabbath, that they might accuse him.
3 He said to the man with the withered hand, "Get up and come forward!"3 And he saith unto the man which had the withered hand, Stand forth.3 So he told the man with the paralyzed hand, "Stand in the center [of the synagogue]."3 He said to the man who had his hand withered, "Stand up."3 And he says to the man who had his hand dried up, Rise up and come into the midst.
4 And He said to them, "Is it lawful to do good or to do harm on the Sabbath, to save a life or to kill?" But they kept silent.4 And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace.4 Then he asked them, "Is it right to do good or to do evil on the day of worship, to give a person back his health or to let him die?" But they were silent.4 He said to them, "Is it lawful on the Sabbath day to do good, or to do harm? To save a life, or to kill?" But they were silent.4 And he says to them, Is it lawful on the sabbath to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill? But they were silent.
5 After looking around at them with anger, grieved at their hardness of heart, He said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored.5 And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.5 Jesus was angry as he looked around at them. He was deeply hurt because their minds were closed. Then he told the man, "Hold out your hand." The man held it out, and his hand became normal again.5 When he had looked around at them with anger, being grieved at the hardening of their hearts, he said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." He stretched it out, and his hand was restored as healthy as the other.5 And looking round upon them with anger, distressed at the hardening of their heart, he says to the man, Stretch out thy hand. And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
6 The Pharisees went out and immediately began conspiring with the Herodians against Him, as to how they might destroy Him.6 And the Pharisees went forth, and straightway took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him.6 The Pharisees left, and with Herod's followers they immediately plotted to kill Jesus.6 The Pharisees went out, and immediately conspired with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him.6 And the Pharisees going out straightway with the Herodians took counsel against him, how they might destroy him.
7 Jesus withdrew to the sea with His disciples; and a great multitude from Galilee followed; and also from Judea,7 But Jesus withdrew himself with his disciples to the sea: and a great multitude from Galilee followed him, and from Judaea,7 Jesus left with his disciples for the Sea of Galilee. A large crowd from Galilee, Judea,7 Jesus withdrew to the sea with his disciples, and a great multitude followed him from Galilee, from Judea,7 And Jesus withdrew with his disciples to the sea; and a great multitude from Galilee followed him, and from Judaea,
8 and from Jerusalem, and from Idumea, and beyond the Jordan, and the vicinity of Tyre and Sidon, a great number of people heard of all that He was doing and came to Him.8 And from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea, and from beyond Jordan; and they about Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, when they had heard what great things he did, came unto him.8 Jerusalem, Idumea, and from across the Jordan River, and from around Tyre and Sidon followed him. They came to him because they had heard about everything he was doing.8 from Jerusalem, from Idumaea, beyond the Jordan, and those from around Tyre and Sidon. A great multitude, hearing what great things he did, came to him.8 and from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea and beyond the Jordan; and they of around Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, having heard what things he did, came to him.
9 And He told His disciples that a boat should stand ready for Him because of the crowd, so that they would not crowd Him;9 And he spake to his disciples, that a small ship should wait on him because of the multitude, lest they should throng him.9 Jesus told his disciples to have a boat ready so that the crowd would not crush him.9 He spoke to his disciples that a little boat should stay near him because of the crowd, so that they wouldn't press on him.9 And he spoke to his disciples, in order that a little ship should wait upon him on account of the crowd, that they might not press upon him.
10 for He had healed many, with the result that all those who had afflictions pressed around Him in order to touch Him.10 For he had healed many; insomuch that they pressed upon him for to touch him, as many as had plagues.10 He had cured so many that everyone with a disease rushed up to him in order to touch him.10 For he had healed many, so that as many as had diseases pressed on him that they might touch him.10 For he healed many, so that they beset him that they might touch him, as many as had plagues.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
11 Whenever the unclean spirits saw Him, they would fall down before Him and shout, "You are the Son of God!"11 And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God.11 Whenever people with evil spirits saw him, they would fall down in front of him and shout, "You are the Son of God!"11 The unclean spirits, whenever they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, "You are the Son of God!"11 And the unclean spirits, when they beheld him, fell down before him, and cried saying, Thou art the Son of God.
12 And He earnestly warned them not to tell who He was.12 And he straitly charged them that they should not make him known.12 He gave them orders not to tell people who he was.12 He sternly warned them that they should not make him known.12 And he rebuked them much, that they might not make him manifest.
The Twelve Are Chosen
13 And He went up on the mountain and summoned those whom He Himself wanted, and they came to Him.13 And he goeth up into a mountain, and calleth unto him whom he would: and they came unto him.13 Jesus went up a mountain, called those whom he wanted, and they came to him.13 He went up into the mountain, and called to himself those whom he wanted, and they went to him.13 And he goes up into the mountain, and calls whom he himself would, and they went to him.
14 And He appointed twelve, so that they would be with Him and that He could send them out to preach,14 And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach,14 He appointed twelve whom he called apostles. They were to accompany him and to be sent out by him to spread [the Good News]. 14 He appointed twelve, that they might be with him, and that he might send them out to preach,14 And he appointed twelve that they might be with him, and that he might send them to preach,
15 and to have authority to cast out the demons.15 And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils:15 They also had the authority to force demons out of people.15 and to have authority to heal sicknesses and to cast out demons:15 and to have power to heal diseases, and to cast out demons.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
16 And He appointed the twelve: Simon (to whom He gave the name Peter),16 And Simon he surnamed Peter;16 He appointed these twelve: Simon (whom Jesus named Peter),16 Simon, to whom he gave the name Peter;16 And he gave to Simon the surname of Peter;
17 and James, the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James (to them He gave the name Boanerges, which means, "Sons of Thunder ");17 And James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and he surnamed them Boanerges, which is, The sons of thunder:17 James and his brother John (Zebedee's sons whom Jesus named Boanerges, which means "Thunderbolts"),17 James the son of Zebedee; John, the brother of James, and he surnamed them Boanerges, which means, Sons of Thunder;17 and James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James, and he gave them the surname of Boanerges, that is, Sons of thunder;
18 and Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Zealot;18 And Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Canaanite,18 Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James (son of Alphaeus), Thaddaeus, Simon the Zealot,18 Andrew; Philip; Bartholomew; Matthew; Thomas; James, the son of Alphaeus; Thaddaeus; Simon the Zealot;18 and Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Cananaean,
19 and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed Him.19 And Judas Iscariot, which also betrayed him: and they went into an house.19 and Judas Iscariot (who later betrayed Jesus).19 and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him. He came into a house.19 and Judas Iscariote, who also delivered him up. And they come to the house.
20 And He came home, and the crowd gathered again, to such an extent that they could not even eat a meal.20 And the multitude cometh together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread.20 Then Jesus went home. Another crowd gathered so that Jesus and his disciples could not even eat.20 The multitude came together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread.20 And again a crowd comes together, so that they cannot even eat bread.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
21 When His own people heard of this, they went out to take custody of Him; for they were saying, "He has lost His senses."21 And when his friends heard of it, they went out to lay hold on him: for they said, He is beside himself.21 When his family heard about it, they went to get him. They said, "He's out of his mind!"21 When his friends heard it, they went out to seize him: for they said, "He is insane."21 And his relatives having heard of it went out to lay hold on him, for they said, He is out of his mind.
22 The scribes who came down from Jerusalem were saying, "He is possessed by Beelzebul," and "He casts out the demons by the ruler of the demons."22 And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils.22 The scribes who had come from Jerusalem said, "Beelzebul is in him," and "He forces demons out of people with the help of the ruler of demons."22 The scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, "He has Beelzebul," and, "By the prince of the demons he casts out the demons."22 And the scribes who had come down from Jerusalem said, He has Beelzebub, and, By the prince of the demons he casts out demons.
23 And He called them to Himself and began speaking to them in parables, "How can Satan cast out Satan?23 And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan?23 Jesus called them together and used this illustration: "How can Satan force out Satan?23 He summoned them, and said to them in parables, "How can Satan cast out Satan?23 And having called them to him, he said to them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan?
24 "If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.24 And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.24 If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot last.24 If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.24 And if a kingdom has become divided against itself, that kingdom cannot subsist.
25 "If a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand.25 And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.25 And if a household is divided against itself, that household will not last.25 If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.25 And if a house has become divided against itself, that house cannot subsist.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
26 "If Satan has risen up against himself and is divided, he cannot stand, but he is finished!26 And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.26 So if Satan rebels against himself and is divided, he cannot last. That will be the end of him.26 If Satan has risen up against himself, and is divided, he can't stand, but has an end.26 And if Satan rise up against himself, and is divided, he cannot subsist, but has an end.
27 "But no one can enter the strong man's house and plunder his property unless he first binds the strong man, and then he will plunder his house.27 No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.27 "No one can go into a strong man's house and steal his property. First he must tie up the strong man. Then he can go through the strong man's house and steal his property.27 But no one can enter into the house of the strong man to plunder, unless he first binds the strong man; and then he will plunder his house.27 But no one can, having entered into his house, plunder the goods of the strong man unless he first bind the strong man, and then he will plunder his house.
28 "Truly I say to you, all sins shall be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they utter;28 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:28 "I can guarantee this truth: People will be forgiven for any sin or curse.28 Most certainly I tell you, all sins of the descendants of man will be forgiven, including their blasphemies with which they may blaspheme;28 Verily I say unto you, that all sins shall be forgiven to the sons of men, and all the injurious speeches with which they may speak injuriously;
29 but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin "--29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.29 But whoever curses the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven. He is guilty of an everlasting sin."29 but whoever may blaspheme against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin"29 but whosoever shall speak injuriously against the Holy Spirit, to eternity has no forgiveness; but lies under the guilt of an everlasting sin;
30 because they were saying, "He has an unclean spirit."30 Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit.30 Jesus said this because the scribes had said that he had an evil spirit.30 --because they said, "He has an unclean spirit."30 because they said, he has an unclean spirit.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
31 Then His mother and His brothers arrived, and standing outside they sent word to Him and called Him.31 There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing without, sent unto him, calling him.31 Then his mother and his brothers arrived. They stood outside and sent someone to ask him to come out.31 His mother and his brothers came, and standing outside, they sent to him, calling him.31 And his brethren and his mother come, and standing without sent to him calling him.
32 A crowd was sitting around Him, and they said to Him, "Behold, Your mother and Your brothers are outside looking for You."32 And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee.32 The crowd sitting around Jesus told him, "Your mother and your brothers are outside looking for you."32 A multitude was sitting around him, and they told him, "Behold, your mother, your brothers, and your sisters are outside looking for you."32 And a crowd sat around him. And they said to him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren seek thee without.
33 Answering them, He said, "Who are My mother and My brothers?"33 And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren?33 He replied to them, "Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?"33 He answered them, "Who are my mother and my brothers?"33 And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother or my brethren?
34 Looking about at those who were sitting around Him, He said, "Behold My mother and My brothers!34 And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!34 Then looking at those who sat in a circle around him, he said, "Look, here are my mother and my brothers.34 Looking around at those who sat around him, he said, "Behold, my mother and my brothers!34 And looking around in a circuit at those that were sitting around him, he says, Behold my mother and my brethren:
35 "For whoever does the will of God, he is My brother and sister and mother."35 For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.35 Whoever does what God wants is my brother and sister and mother."35 For whoever does the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother."35 for whosoever shall do the will of God, he is my brother, and sister, and mother.
