1 Jesus came out from the temple and was going away when His disciples came up to point out the temple buildings to Him.1 And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.1 As Jesus left the temple courtyard and was walking away, his disciples came to him. They proudly pointed out to him the temple buildings.1 Jesus went out from the temple, and was going on his way. His disciples came to him to show him the buildings of the temple.1 And Jesus went forth and went away from the temple, and his disciples came to him to point out to him the buildings of the temple.
2 And He said to them, "Do you not see all these things? Truly I say to you, not one stone here will be left upon another, which will not be torn down."2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.2 Jesus said to them, "You see all these buildings, don't you? I can guarantee this truth: Not one of these stones will be left on top of another. Each one will be torn down."2 But he answered them, "You see all of these things, don't you? Most certainly I tell you, there will not be left here one stone on another, that will not be thrown down."2 And he answering said to them, Do ye not see all these things? Verily I say to you, Not a stone shall be left here upon a stone which shall not be thrown down.
3 As He was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, "Tell us, when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?"3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?3 As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, his disciples came to him privately and said, "Tell us, when will this happen? What will be the sign that you are coming again, and when will the world come to an end?"3 As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, "Tell us, when will these things be? What is the sign of your coming, and of the end of the age?"3 And as he was sitting upon the mount of Olives the disciples came to him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be, and what is the sign of thy coming and the completion of the age?
4 And Jesus answered and said to them, "See to it that no one misleads you.4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.4 Jesus answered them, "Be careful not to let anyone deceive you.4 Jesus answered them, "Be careful that no one leads you astray.4 And Jesus answering said to them, See that no one mislead you.
5 "For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will mislead many.5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.5 Many will come using my name. They will say, 'I am the Messiah,' and they will deceive many people.5 For many will come in my name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will lead many astray.5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am the Christ, and they shall mislead many.

6 "You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end.6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.6 "You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. Don't be alarmed! These things must happen, but they don't mean that the end has come.6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you aren't troubled, for all this must happen, but the end is not yet.6 But ye will hear of wars and rumours of wars. See that ye be not disturbed; for all these things must take place, but it is not yet the end.
7 "For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes.7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.7 Nation will fight against nation and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there will be famines, plagues, and earthquakes in various places.7 For nation shall rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there shall be famines and pestilences, and earthquakes in divers places.
8 "But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs.8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.8 All of these are only the beginning pains [of the end].8 But all these things are the beginning of birth pains.8 But all these are the beginning of throes.
9 "Then they will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name.9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.9 "Then they will hand you over to those who will torture and kill you. All nations will hate you because you are committed to me.9 Then they will deliver you up to oppression, and will kill you. You will be hated by all of the nations for my name's sake.9 Then shall they deliver you up to tribulation, and shall kill you; and ye will be hated of all the nations for my name's sake.
10 "At that time many will fall away and will betray one another and hate one another.10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.10 Then many will lose faith. They will betray and hate each other.10 Then many will stumble, and will deliver up one another, and will hate one another.10 And then will many be offended, and will deliver one another up, and hate one another;

11 "Many false prophets will arise and will mislead many.11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.11 Many false prophets will appear and deceive many people.11 Many false prophets will arise, and will lead many astray.11 and many false prophets shall arise and shall mislead many;
12 "Because lawlessness is increased, most people's love will grow cold.12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.12 And because there will be more and more lawlessness, most people's love will grow cold.12 Because iniquity will be multiplied, the love of many will grow cold.12 and because lawlessness shall prevail, the love of the most shall grow cold;
13 "But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved.13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.13 But the person who endures to the end will be saved.13 But he who endures to the end, the same will be saved.13 but he that has endured to the end, he shall be saved.
14 "This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.14 "This Good News about the kingdom will be spread throughout the world as a testimony to all nations. Then the end will come.14 This Good News of the Kingdom will be preached in the whole world for a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.14 And these glad tidings of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole habitable earth, for a witness to all the nations, and then shall come the end.
Perilous Times
15 "Therefore when you see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand),15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)15 "The prophet Daniel said that the disgusting thing that will cause destruction will stand in the holy place. 19 "But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days!19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!19 "How horrible it will be for the women who are pregnant or who are nursing babies in those days.19 But woe to those who are with child and to nursing mothers in those days!19 But woe to those that are with child, and those that give suck in those days.
20 "But pray that your flight will not be in the winter, or on a Sabbath.20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:20 Pray that it will not be winter or a day of worship when you flee.20 Pray that your flight will not be in the winter, nor on a Sabbath,20 But pray that your flight may not be in winter time nor on sabbath:

21 "For then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will.21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.21 There will be a lot of misery at that time, a kind of misery that has not happened from the beginning of the world until now and will certainly never happen again.21 for then there will be great oppression, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, nor ever will be.21 for then shall there be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, nor ever shall be;
22 "Unless those days had been cut short, no life would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short.22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.22 If God does not reduce the number of those days, no one will be saved. But those days will be reduced because of those whom God has chosen.22 Unless those days had been shortened, no flesh would have been saved. But for the sake of the chosen ones, those days will be shortened.22 and if those days had not been cut short, no flesh had been saved; but on account of the elect those days shall be cut short.
23 "Then if anyone says to you, 'Behold, here is the Christ,' or 'There He is,' do not believe him.23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.23 "At that time don't believe anyone who tells you, 'Here is the Messiah!' or 'There he is!'23 "Then if any man tells you, 'Behold, here is the Christ,' or, 'There,' don't believe it.23 Then if any one say to you, Behold, here is the Christ, or here, believe it not.
24 "For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect.24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.24 False messiahs and false prophets will appear. They will work spectacular, miraculous signs and do wonderful things to deceive, if possible, even those whom God has chosen.24 For there will arise false christs, and false prophets, and they will show great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the chosen ones.24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall give great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect.
25 "Behold, I have told you in advance.25 Behold, I have told you before.25 Listen! I've told you this before it happens.25 "Behold, I have told you beforehand.25 Behold, I have told you beforehand.

26 "So if they say to you, 'Behold, He is in the wilderness,' do not go out, or, 'Behold, He is in the inner rooms,' do not believe them.26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.26 So if someone tells you, 'He's in the desert!' don't go out [looking for him]. And don't believe anyone who says, 'He's in a secret place!'26 If therefore they tell you, 'Behold, he is in the wilderness,' don't go out; 'Behold, he is in the inner rooms,' don't believe it.26 If therefore they say to you, Behold, he is in the desert, go not forth; behold, he is in the inner chambers, do not believe it.
27 "For just as the lightning comes from the east and flashes even to the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be.27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.27 The Son of Man will come again just as lightning flashes from east to west.27 For as the lightning flashes from the east, and is seen even to the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.27 For as the lightning goes forth from the east and shines to the west, so shall be the coming of the Son of man.
28 "Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather.28 For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.28 Vultures will gather wherever there is a dead body.28 For wherever the carcass is, there is where the vultures gather together.28 For wherever the carcase is, there will be gathered the eagles.
The Glorious Return
29 "But immediately after the tribulation of those days THE SUN WILL BE DARKENED, AND THE MOON WILL NOT GIVE ITS LIGHT, AND THE STARS WILL FALL from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:29 "Immediately after the misery of those days, the sun will turn dark, the moon will not give light, the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the universe will be shaken.29 But immediately after the oppression of those days, the sun will be darkened, the moon will not give its light, the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken;29 But immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun shall be darkened, and the moon not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.
30 "And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the SON OF MAN COMING ON THE CLOUDS OF THE SKY with power and great glory.30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.30 "Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky. All the people on earth will cry in agony when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds in the sky with power and great glory.30 and then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky. Then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory.30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven; and then shall all the tribes of the land lament, and they shall see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

31 "And He will send forth His angels with A GREAT TRUMPET and THEY WILL GATHER TOGETHER His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.31 He will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and from every direction under the sky, they will gather those whom God has chosen.31 He will send out his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together his chosen ones from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the one extremity of the heavens to the other extremity of them.
Parable of the Fig Tree
32 "Now learn the parable from the fig tree: when its branch has already become tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near;32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:32 "Learn from the story of the fig tree. When its branch becomes tender and it sprouts leaves, you know that summer is near.32 "Now from the fig tree learn this parable. When its branch has now become tender, and puts forth its leaves, you know that the summer is near.32 But learn the parable from the fig-tree: When already its branch becomes tender and produces leaves, ye know that the summer is near.
33 so, you too, when you see all these things, recognize that He is near, right at the door.33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.33 In the same way, when you see all these things, you know that he is near, at the door.33 Even so you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.33 Thus also ye, when ye see all these things, know that it is near, at the doors.
34 "Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.34 "I can guarantee this truth: This generation will not disappear until all these things take place.34 Most certainly I tell you, this generation will not pass away, until all these things are accomplished.34 Verily I say to you, This generation will not have passed away until all these things shall have taken place.
35 "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.35 The earth and the heavens will disappear, but my words will never disappear.35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.35 The heaven and the earth shall pass away, but my words shall in no wise pass away.

36 "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.36 "No one knows when that day or hour will come. Be Ready for His Coming

43 "But be sure of this, that if the head of the house had known at what time of the night the thief was coming, he would have been on the alert and would not have allowed his house to be broken into.43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.43 You realize that if a homeowner had known at what time of the night a thief was coming, he would have stayed awake. He would not have let the thief break into his house.43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what watch of the night the thief was coming, he would have watched, and would not have allowed his house to be broken into.43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what watch the thief was coming, he would have watched and not have suffered his house to be dug through into.
44 "For this reason you also must be ready; for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not think He will.44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.44 Therefore, you, too, must be ready because the Son of Man will return when you least expect him.44 Therefore also be ready, for in an hour that you don't expect, the Son of Man will come.44 Wherefore ye also, be ye ready, for in that hour that ye think not the Son of man comes.
45 "Who then is the faithful and sensible slave whom his master put in charge of his household to give them their food at the proper time?45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?45 "Who, then, is the faithful and wise servant? The master will put that person in charge of giving the other servants their food at the right time.45 "Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his lord has set over his household, to give them their food in due season?45 Who then is the faithful and prudent bondman whom his lord has set over his household, to give them food in season?

46 "Blessed is that slave whom his master finds so doing when he comes.46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.46 That servant will be blessed if his master finds him doing this job when he comes.46 Blessed is that servant whom his lord finds doing so when he comes.46 Blessed is that bondman whom his lord on coming shall find doing thus.
47 "Truly I say to you that he will put him in charge of all his possessions.47 Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.47 I can guarantee this truth: He will put that servant in charge of all his property.47 Most certainly I tell you that he will set him over all that he has.47 Verily I say unto you, that he will set him over all his substance.
48 "But if that evil slave says in his heart, 'My master is not coming for a long time,'48 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;48 On the other hand, that servant, if he is wicked, may think that it will be a long time before his master comes.48 But if that evil servant should say in his heart, 'My lord is delaying his coming,'48 But if that evil bondman should say in his heart, My lord delays to come,
49 and begins to beat his fellow slaves and eat and drink with drunkards;49 And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;49 The servant may begin to beat the other servants and eat and drink with the drunks.49 and begins to beat his fellow servants, and eat and drink with the drunkards,49 and begin to beat his fellow-bondmen, and eat and drink with the drunken;
50 the master of that slave will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour which he does not know,50 The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,50 His master will return unexpectedly.50 the lord of that servant will come in a day when he doesn't expect it, and in an hour when he doesn't know it,50 the lord of that bondman shall come in a day when he does not expect it, and in an hour he knows not of,

51 and will cut him in pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.51 Then his master will severely punish him and assign him a place with the hypocrites. People will cry and be in extreme pain there.51 and will cut him in pieces, and appoint his portion with the hypocrites. There is where the weeping and grinding of teeth will be.51 and shall cut him in two and appoint his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.
