David King over All Israel
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
Then all the tribes of Israel came to David at Hebron and said, "Behold, we are your bone and your flesh.1 Then came all the tribes of Israel to David unto Hebron, and spake, saying, Behold, we are thy bone and thy flesh.1 All the tribes of Israel came to David at Hebron. "We are your own flesh and blood," they said.1 Then came all the tribes of Israel to David to Hebron, and spoke, saying, "Behold, we are your bone and your flesh.1 Then came all the tribes of Israel to David to Hebron, and spoke, saying, Behold, we are thy bone and thy flesh.
"Previously, when Saul was king over us, you were the one who led Israel out and in. And the LORD said to you, 'You will shepherd My people Israel, and you will be a ruler over Israel.'"2 Also in time past, when Saul was king over us, thou wast he that leddest out and broughtest in Israel: and the LORD said to thee, Thou shalt feed my people Israel, and thou shalt be a captain over Israel.2 "Even in the past when Saul ruled us, you were the one who led Israel in battle. The LORD has said to you, 'You will be shepherd of my people Israel, the leader of Israel.'"2 In times past, when Saul was king over us, it was you who led out and brought in Israel. Yahweh said to you, 'You shall be shepherd of my people Israel, and you shall be prince over Israel.'"2 Even aforetime, when Saul was king over us, thou wast he that leddest out and broughtest in Israel; and Jehovah said to thee, Thou shalt feed my people Israel, and thou shalt be prince over Israel.
So all the elders of Israel came to the king at Hebron, and King David made a covenant with them before the LORD at Hebron; then they anointed David king over Israel.3 So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and king David made a league with them in Hebron before the LORD: and they anointed David king over Israel.3 All the leaders of Israel had come to Hebron. King David made an agreement with them at Hebron in front of the LORD. So they anointed David king of Israel.3 So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and king David made a covenant with them in Hebron before Yahweh; and they anointed David king over Israel.3 And all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and king David made a covenant with them in Hebron before Jehovah; and they anointed David king over Israel.
David was thirty years old when he became king, and he reigned forty years.4 David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years.4 David was 30 years old when he became king, and he ruled for 40 years.4 David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years.4 David was thirty years old when he began to reign; he reigned forty years.
At Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months, and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty-three years over all Israel and Judah.5 In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months: and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years over all Israel and Judah.5 In Hebron he ruled Judah for seven years and six months. In Jerusalem he ruled for 33 years over all Israel and Judah.5 In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months; and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty-three years over all Israel and Judah.5 In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months; and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty-three years over all Israel and Judah.

Now the king and his men went to Jerusalem against the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land, and they said to David, "You shall not come in here, but the blind and lame will turn you away"; thinking, "David cannot enter here."6 And the king and his men went to Jerusalem unto the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land: which spake unto David, saying, Except thou take away the blind and the lame, thou shalt not come in hither: thinking, David cannot come in hither.6 The king and his men went to Jerusalem to attack the Jebusites, who lived in that region. The Jebusites told David, "You will never get in here. Even the blind and the lame could turn you away" (meaning that David could never get in there).6 The king and his men went to Jerusalem against the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land, who spoke to David, saying, "Unless you take away the blind and the lame, you shall not come in here;" thinking, "David can't come in here."6 And the king and his men went to Jerusalem against the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land; and they spoke to David, saying, Thou shalt not come in hither, but the blind and the lame will drive thee back; as much as to say, David will not come in hither.
Nevertheless, David captured the stronghold of Zion, that is the city of David.7 Nevertheless David took the strong hold of Zion: the same is the city of David.7 But David captured the fortress Zion (that is, the City of David).7 Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion; the same is the city of David.7 But David took the stronghold of Zion, which is the city of David.
David said on that day, "Whoever would strike the Jebusites, let him reach the lame and the blind, who are hated by David's soul, through the water tunnel." Therefore they say, "The blind or the lame shall not come into the house."8 And David said on that day, Whosoever getteth up to the gutter, and smiteth the Jebusites, and the lame and the blind that are hated of David's soul, he shall be chief and captain. Wherefore they said, The blind and the lame shall not come into the house.8 That day David said, "Whoever wants to defeat the Jebusites must reach the lame and the blind who hate me by using the water shaft." So there is a saying, "The blind and the lame will not get into the palace." 8 David said on that day, "Whoever strikes the Jebusites, let him get up to the watercourse, and strike the lame and the blind, who are hated by David's soul." Therefore they say, "The blind and the lame can't come into the house."8 And David said on that day, Whoever smites the Jebusites and gets up to the watercourse, and the lame and the blind hated of David's soul ...! Therefore they say, The blind and the lame shall not come into the house.
So David lived in the stronghold and called it the city of David. And David built all around from the Millo and inward.9 So David dwelt in the fort, and called it the city of David. And David built round about from Millo and inward.9 David lived in the fortress and called it the City of David. He built the city [of Jerusalem] around it from the Millo to the palace. 9 David lived in the stronghold, and called it the city of David. David built around from Millo and inward.9 So David dwelt in the stronghold, and called it the city of David. And David built round about from the Millo and inward.
David became greater and greater, for the LORD God of hosts was with him.10 And David went on, and grew great, and the LORD God of hosts was with him.10 David continued to grow more powerful because the LORD God of Armies was with him. 10 David grew greater and greater; for Yahweh, the God of Armies, was with him.10 And David became continually greater; and Jehovah the God of hosts was with him.

Then Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David with cedar trees and carpenters and stonemasons; and they built a house for David.11 And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, and carpenters, and masons: and they built David an house.11 Then King Hiram of Tyre sent messengers to David, along with cedarwood, carpenters, and stonemasons. They built a palace for David.11 Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, and carpenters, and masons; and they built David a house.11 And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and timber of cedars, and carpenters, and masons; and they built David a house.
And David realized that the LORD had established him as king over Israel, and that He had exalted his kingdom for the sake of His people Israel.12 And David perceived that the LORD had established him king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom for his people Israel's sake.12 So David realized that the LORD had established him as king of Israel and made his kingship famous for the sake of Israel, the LORD's people.12 David perceived that Yahweh had established him king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom for his people Israel's sake.12 And David perceived that Jehovah had established him king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom because of his people Israel.
Meanwhile David took more concubines and wives from Jerusalem, after he came from Hebron; and more sons and daughters were born to David.13 And David took him more concubines and wives out of Jerusalem, after he was come from Hebron: and there were yet sons and daughters born to David.13 David married more concubines and wives from Jerusalem after he had come there from Hebron, and he fathered more sons and daughters. 13 David took him more concubines and wives out of Jerusalem, after he was come from Hebron; and there were yet sons and daughters born to David.13 And David took him more concubines and wives out of Jerusalem, after he had come from Hebron; and there were yet sons and daughters born to David.
Now these are the names of those who were born to him in Jerusalem: Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon,14 And these be the names of those that were born unto him in Jerusalem; Shammuah, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon,14 These are the names of the children born to him in Jerusalem: Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon,14 These are the names of those who were born to him in Jerusalem: Shammua, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon,14 And these are the names of those that were born to him in Jerusalem: Shammua, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon,
Ibhar, Elishua, Nepheg, Japhia,15 Ibhar also, and Elishua, and Nepheg, and Japhia,15 Ibhar, Elishua, Nepheg, Japhia,15 and Ibhar, and Elishua, and Nepheg, and Japhia,15 and Ibhar, and Elishua, and Nepheg, and Japhia,

Elishama, Eliada and Eliphelet.16 And Elishama, and Eliada, and Eliphalet.16 Elishama, Eliada, and Eliphelet.16 and Elishama, and Eliada, and Eliphelet.16 and Elishama, and Eliada, and Eliphelet.
War with the Philistines
When the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek out David; and when David heard of it, he went down to the stronghold.17 But when the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, all the Philistines came up to seek David; and David heard of it, and went down to the hold.17 When the Philistines heard that David had been anointed king of Israel, all of them came to attack David. But David heard about it and went to the fortress.17 When the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David; and David heard of it, and went down to the stronghold.17 And the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, and all the Philistines went up to seek David; and David heard of it, and went down to the stronghold.
Now the Philistines came and spread themselves out in the valley of Rephaim.18 The Philistines also came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.18 The Philistines had come and overrun the valley of Rephaim.18 Now the Philistines had come and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.18 And the Philistines came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.
Then David inquired of the LORD, saying, "Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will You give them into my hand?" And the LORD said to David, "Go up, for I will certainly give the Philistines into your hand."19 And David inquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up to the Philistines? wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said unto David, Go up: for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into thine hand.19 David asked the LORD, "Should I attack the Philistines? Will you hand them over to me?" The LORD answered David, "Attack! I will certainly hand the Philistines over to you."19 David inquired of Yahweh, saying, "Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will you deliver them into my hand?" Yahweh said to David, "Go up; for I will certainly deliver the Philistines into your hand."19 And David inquired of Jehovah, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? wilt thou give them into my hand? And Jehovah said to David, Go up; for I will certainly give the Philistines into thy hand.
So David came to Baal-perazim and defeated them there; and he said, "The LORD has broken through my enemies before me like the breakthrough of waters." Therefore he named that place Baal-perazim.20 And David came to Baalperazim, and David smote them there, and said, The LORD hath broken forth upon mine enemies before me, as the breach of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baalperazim.20 So David went to Baal Perazim and defeated the Philistines there. He said, "The LORD has overwhelmed my enemies in front of me like an overwhelming flood." That is why that place is called Baal Perazim [The Lord Overwhelms].20 David came to Baal Perazim, and David struck them there; and he said, "Yahweh has broken my enemies before me, like the breach of waters." Therefore he called the name of that place Baal Perazim.20 And David came to Baal-perazim, and David smote them there; and he said, Jehovah has broken in upon mine enemies before me, as the breaking forth of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baal-perazim.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
They abandoned their idols there, so David and his men carried them away.21 And there they left their images, and David and his men burned them.21 The Philistines left their idols there, so David and his men carried the idols away.21 They left their images there; and David and his men took them away.21 And they left their images there, and David and his men took them away.
Now the Philistines came up once again and spread themselves out in the valley of Rephaim.22 And the Philistines came up yet again, and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.22 The Philistines again attacked and overran the valley of Rephaim.22 The Philistines came up yet again, and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.22 And the Philistines came up yet again, and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.
When David inquired of the LORD, He said, "You shall not go directly up; circle around behind them and come at them in front of the balsam trees.23 And when David inquired of the LORD, he said, Thou shalt not go up; but fetch a compass behind them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.23 David asked the LORD, and he answered, "Don't attack now, but circle around behind them, and come at them in front of the balsam trees.23 When David inquired of Yahweh, he said, "You shall not go up. Circle around behind them, and attack them over against the mulberry trees.23 And David inquired of Jehovah; and he said, Thou shalt not go up; turn round behind them and come upon them opposite the mulberry-trees.
"It shall be, when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the balsam trees, then you shall act promptly, for then the LORD will have gone out before you to strike the army of the Philistines."24 And let it be, when thou hearest the sound of a going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself: for then shall the LORD go out before thee, to smite the host of the Philistines.24 When you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the balsam trees, act immediately because the LORD has gone ahead of you to defeat the Philistine army."24 It shall be, when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then you shall stir yourself up; for then Yahweh has gone out before you to strike the army of the Philistines."24 And it shall be, when thou hearest a sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry-trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself; for then will Jehovah have gone forth before thee, to smite the army of the Philistines.
Then David did so, just as the LORD had commanded him, and struck down the Philistines from Geba as far as Gezer.25 And David did so, as the LORD had commanded him; and smote the Philistines from Geba until thou come to Gazer.25 David did as the LORD ordered him and defeated the Philistines from Geba to Gezer.25 David did so, as Yahweh commanded him, and struck the Philistines from Geba until you come to Gezer.25 And David did so, as Jehovah had commanded him; and smote the Philistines from Geba until thou comest to Gezer.
