Paul in Macedonia and Greece

1 After the uproar had ceased, Paul sent for the disciples, and when he had exhorted them and taken his leave of them, he left to go to Macedonia.1 And after the uproar was ceased, Paul called unto him the disciples, and embraced them, and departed for to go into Macedonia.1 When the uproar was over, Paul sent for the disciples, encouraged them, said goodbye, and left for Macedonia.1 After the uproar had ceased, Paul sent for the disciples, took leave of them, and departed to go into Macedonia.1 But after the tumult had ceased, Paul having called the disciples to him and embraced them, went away to go to Macedonia.

When Paul was going to board a ship for Syria, he found out that the Jews were plotting to kill him. So he decided to go back through Macedonia.3 When he had spent three months there, and a plot was made against him by Jews as he was about to set sail for Syria, he determined to return through Macedonia.3 And having spent three months there, a treacherous plot against him having been set on foot by the Jews, as he was going to sail to Syria, the resolution was adopted of returning through Macedonia.
4 And he was accompanied by Sopater of Berea, the son of Pyrrhus, and by Aristarchus and Secundus of the Thessalonians, and Gaius of Derbe, and Timothy, and Tychicus and Trophimus of Asia.4 And there accompanied him into Asia Sopater of Berea; and of the Thessalonians, Aristarchus and Secundus; and Gaius of Derbe, and Timotheus; and of Asia, Tychicus and Trophimus.4 Sopater (son of Pyrrhus) from Berea, Aristarchus and Secundus from Thessalonica, Gaius from Derbe, Timothy, and Tychicus and Trophimus from the province of Asia accompanied Paul.4 These accompanied him as far as Asia: Sopater of Beroea; Aristarchus and Secundus of the Thessalonians; Gaius of Derbe; Timothy; and Tychicus and Trophimus of Asia.4 And there accompanied him as far as Asia, Sopater son of Pyrrhus, a Berean; and of Thessalonians, Aristarchus and Secundus, and Gaius and Timotheus of Derbe, and of Asia, Tychicus and Trophimus.

9 And there was a young man named Eutychus sitting on the window sill, sinking into a deep sleep; and as Paul kept on talking, he was overcome by sleep and fell down from the third floor and was picked up dead.9 And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, being fallen into a deep sleep: and as Paul was long preaching, he sunk down with sleep, and fell down from the third loft, and was taken up dead.9 A young man named Eutychus was sitting in a window. Finally, overcome by sleep, he fell from the third story and was dead when they picked him up.9 A certain young man named Eutychus sat in the window, weighed down with deep sleep. As Paul spoke still longer, being weighed down by his sleep, he fell down from the third story, and was taken up dead.9 And a certain youth, by name Eutychus, sitting at the window-opening, overpowered by deep sleep, while Paul discoursed very much at length, having been overpowered by the sleep, fell from the third story down to the bottom, and was taken up dead.
10 But Paul went down and fell upon him, and after embracing him, he said, "Do not be troubled, for his life is in him."10 And Paul went down, and fell on him, and embracing him said, Trouble not yourselves; for his life is in him.10 Paul went to him, took him into his arms, and said, "Don't worry! He's alive!"10 Paul went down, and fell upon him, and embracing him said, "Don't be troubled, for his life is in him."10 But Paul descending fell upon him, and enfolding him in his arms, said, Be not troubled, for his life is in him.

11 When he had gone back up and had broken the bread and eaten, he talked with them a long while until daybreak, and then left.11 When he therefore was come up again, and had broken bread, and eaten, and talked a long while, even till break of day, so he departed.11 Then Eutychus went upstairs again, broke the bread, and ate. Troas to Miletus
13 But we, going ahead to the ship, set sail for Assos, intending from there to take Paul on board; for so he had arranged it, intending himself to go by land.13 And we went before to ship, and sailed unto Assos, there intending to take in Paul: for so had he appointed, minding himself to go afoot.13 We went ahead to the ship and sailed for the city of Assos. At Assos, we were going to pick up Paul. He had made these arrangements, since he had planned to walk overland to Assos.13 But we who went ahead to the ship set sail for Assos, intending to take Paul aboard there, for he had so arranged, intending himself to go by land.13 And we, having gone before on board ship, sailed off to Assos, going to take in Paul there; for so he had directed, he himself being about to go on foot.

16 For Paul had decided to sail past Ephesus so that he would not have to spend time in Asia; for he was hurrying to be in Jerusalem, if possible, on the day of Pentecost.16 For Paul had determined to sail by Ephesus, because he would not spend the time in Asia: for he hasted, if it were possible for him, to be at Jerusalem the day of Pentecost.16 Paul had decided to sail past Ephesus to avoid spending time in the province of Asia. He was in a hurry to get to Jerusalem for the day of Pentecost, if that was possible.16 For Paul had determined to sail past Ephesus, that he might not have to spend time in Asia; for he was hastening, if it were possible for him, to be in Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost.16 for Paul thought it desirable to sail by Ephesus, so that he might not be made to spend time in Asia; for he hastened, if it was possible for him, to be the day of Pentecost at Jerusalem.
Farewell to Ephesus

19 serving the Lord with all humility and with tears and with trials which came upon me through the plots of the Jews;19 Serving the LORD with all humility of mind, and with many tears, and temptations, which befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews:19 I humbly served the Lord, often with tears in my eyes. I served the Lord during the difficult times I went through when the Jews plotted against me.19 serving the Lord with all humility, with many tears, and with trials which happened to me by the plots of the Jews;19 serving the Lord with all lowliness, and tears, and temptations, which happened to me through the plots of the Jews;
20 how I did not shrink from declaring to you anything that was profitable, and teaching you publicly and from house to house,20 And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publickly, and from house to house,20 I didn't avoid telling you anything that would help you, and I didn't avoid teaching you publicly and from house to house.20 how I didn't shrink from declaring to you anything that was profitable, teaching you publicly and from house to house,20 how I held back nothing of what is profitable, so as not to announce it to you, and to teach you publicly and in every house,

24 "But I do not consider my life of any account as dear to myself, so that I may finish my course and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify solemnly of the gospel of the grace of God.24 But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.24 But I don't place any value on my own life. I want to finish the race I'm running. I want to carry out the mission I received from the Lord Jesus-the mission of testifying to the Good News of God's kindness. 24 But these things don't count; nor do I hold my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to fully testify to the Good News of the grace of God.24 But I make no account of my life as dear to myself, so that I finish my course, and the ministry which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the glad tidings of the grace of God.
25 "And now, behold, I know that all of you, among whom I went about preaching the kingdom, will no longer see my face.25 And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more.25 "Now I know that none of you whom I told about the kingdom [of God] will see me again.25 "Now, behold, I know that you all, among whom I went about preaching the Kingdom of God, will see my face no more.25 And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone about preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more.

30 and from among your own selves men will arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them.30 Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.30 Some of your own men will come forward and say things that distort the truth. 31 "Therefore be on the alert, remembering that night and day for a period of three years I did not cease to admonish each one with tears.31 Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.31 So be alert! 34 "You yourselves know that these hands ministered to my own needs and to the men who were with me.34 Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me.34 You know that I worked to support myself and those who were with me.34 You yourselves know that these hands served my necessities, and those who were with me.34 Yourselves know that these hands have ministered to my wants, and to those who were with me.
35 "In everything I showed you that by working hard in this manner you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'"35 I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.35 I have given you an example that by working hard like this we should help the weak. We should remember the words that the Lord Jesus said, 'Giving gifts is more satisfying than receiving them.'"35 In all things I gave you an example, that so laboring you ought to help the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that he himself said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'"35 I have shewed you all things, that thus labouring we ought to come in aid of the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that he himself said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.
