Israel’s Unfaithfulness Condemned
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 Say to your brothers, "Ammi," and to your sisters, "Ruhamah."1 Say ye unto your brethren, Ammi; and to your sisters, Ruhamah.1 "So call your brothers Ammi [My People], and call your sisters Ruhamah [Loved].1 "Say to your brothers, 'My people!' and to your sisters, 'My loved one!'1 Say unto your brethren Ammi; and to your sisters, Ruhamah.
 "Contend with your mother, contend, For she is not my wife, and I am not her husband; And let her put away her harlotry from her face And her adultery from between her breasts,2 Plead with your mother, plead: for she is not my wife, neither am I her husband: let her therefore put away her whoredoms out of her sight, and her adulteries from between her breasts;2 "Plead with your mother; plead with her. She no longer acts like my wife. She no longer treats me like her husband. Tell her to stop acting like a prostitute. Tell her to remove the lovers from between her breasts.2 Contend with your mother! Contend, for she is not my wife, neither am I her husband; and let her put away her prostitution from her face, and her adulteries from between her breasts;2 Plead with your mother, plead; for she is not my wife, neither am I her husband: and let her put away her whoredoms from her face, and her adulteries from between her breasts;
 Or I will strip her naked And expose her as on the day when she was born. I will also make her like a wilderness, Make her like desert land And slay her with thirst.3 Lest I strip her naked, and set her as in the day that she was born, and make her as a wilderness, and set her like a dry land, and slay her with thirst.3 If she refuses, I will strip her. I will leave her as naked as the day she was born. I will turn her into a dry and barren land, and she will die of thirst.3 Lest I strip her naked, and make her bare as in the day that she was born, and make her like a wilderness, and set her like a dry land, and kill her with thirst.3 lest I strip her naked, and set her as in the day that she was born, and make her as a wilderness, and set her as a dry land, and slay her with thirst.
 "Also, I will have no compassion on her children, Because they are children of harlotry.4 And I will not have mercy upon her children; for they be the children of whoredoms.4 I won't love her children, because they are children of a prostitute.4 Indeed, on her children I will have no mercy; for they are children of unfaithfulness;4 And I will not have mercy upon her children; for they are the children of whoredoms.
 "For their mother has played the harlot; She who conceived them has acted shamefully. For she said, 'I will go after my lovers, Who give me my bread and my water, My wool and my flax, my oil and my drink.'5 For their mother hath played the harlot: she that conceived them hath done shamefully: for she said, I will go after my lovers, that give me my bread and my water, my wool and my flax, mine oil and my drink.5 Their mother acted like a prostitute. The woman who became pregnant with them did shameful things. She said, 'I'll chase after my lovers. They will give me food and water, wool and linen, olive oil and wine.'5 For their mother has played the prostitute. She who conceived them has done shamefully; for she said, 'I will go after my lovers, who give me my bread and my water, my wool and my flax, my oil and my drink.'5 For their mother hath played the harlot; she that conceived them hath done shamefully: for she said, I will go after my lovers, that give me my bread and my water, my wool and my flax, mine oil and my drink.

 "Therefore, behold, I will hedge up her way with thorns, And I will build a wall against her so that she cannot find her paths.6 Therefore, behold, I will hedge up thy way with thorns, and make a wall, that she shall not find her paths.6 "That is why I will block her way with thornbushes and build a wall so that she can't get through.6 Therefore, behold, I will hedge up your way with thorns, and I will build a wall against her, that she can't find her way.6 Therefore behold, I will hedge up thy way with thorns; and I will fence her in with a wall, that she shall not find her paths.
 "She will pursue her lovers, but she will not overtake them; And she will seek them, but will not find them. Then she will say, 'I will go back to my first husband, For it was better for me then than now!'7 And she shall follow after her lovers, but she shall not overtake them; and she shall seek them, but shall not find them: then shall she say, I will go and return to my first husband; for then was it better with me than now.7 She will run after her lovers, but she won't catch them. She will search for them, but she won't find them. Then she will say, 'I'll go back to my first husband. Things were better for me than they are now.'7 She will follow after her lovers, but she won't overtake them; and she will seek them, but won't find them. Then she will say, 'I will go and return to my first husband; for then was it better with me than now.'7 And she shall pursue after her lovers, and shall not overtake them; and she shall seek them, and shall not find them: and she shall say, I will go and return to my first husband, for then was it better with me than now.
 "For she does not know that it was I who gave her the grain, the new wine and the oil, And lavished on her silver and gold, Which they used for Baal.8 For she did not know that I gave her corn, and wine, and oil, and multiplied her silver and gold, which they prepared for Baal.8 "She doesn't believe that I gave her grain, new wine, and olive oil. I gave her plenty of silver and gold, but she used it to make statues of Baal.8 For she did not know that I gave her the grain, the new wine, and the oil, and multiplied to her silver and gold, which they used for Baal.8 And she did not know that I had given her the corn and the new wine and the oil, and had multiplied to her the silver and gold, which they employed for Baal.
 "Therefore, I will take back My grain at harvest time And My new wine in its season. I will also take away My wool and My flax Given to cover her nakedness.9 Therefore will I return, and take away my corn in the time thereof, and my wine in the season thereof, and will recover my wool and my flax given to cover her nakedness.9 That is why I will take back my grain when it has ripened and my new wine when it's in season. I will take away the wool and the linen that I gave her to cover her naked body.9 Therefore I will take back my grain in its time, and my new wine in its season, and will pluck away my wool and my flax which should have covered her nakedness.9 Therefore will I return, and take away my corn in the time thereof, and my new wine in its season, and will withdraw my wool and my flax which should have covered her nakedness.
 "And then I will uncover her lewdness In the sight of her lovers, And no one will rescue her out of My hand.10 And now will I discover her lewdness in the sight of her lovers, and none shall deliver her out of mine hand.10 I will show her naked body to her lovers, and no one will rescue her from my power.10 Now I will uncover her lewdness in the sight of her lovers, and no one will deliver her out of my hand.10 And now will I discover her impiety in the sight of her lovers, and none shall deliver her out of my hand.

 "I will also put an end to all her gaiety, Her feasts, her new moons, her sabbaths And all her festal assemblies.11 I will also cause all her mirth to cease, her feast days, her new moons, and her sabbaths, and all her solemn feasts.11 I will put an end to all her celebrations: her annual festivals, her New Moon Festivals, her weekly worship days-all her appointed festivals.11 I will also cause all her celebrations to cease: her feasts, her new moons, her Sabbaths, and all her solemn assemblies.11 And I will cause all her mirth to cease: her feasts, her new moons, and her sabbaths! and all her solemnities.
 "I will destroy her vines and fig trees, Of which she said, 'These are my wages Which my lovers have given me.' And I will make them a forest, And the beasts of the field will devour them.12 And I will destroy her vines and her fig trees, whereof she hath said, These are my rewards that my lovers have given me: and I will make them a forest, and the beasts of the field shall eat them.12 I will destroy her grapevines and fig trees. She said that they were gifts from her lovers. I will turn her vineyards into a forest, and wild animals will devour them.12 I will lay waste her vines and her fig trees, about which she has said, 'These are my wages that my lovers have given me; and I will make them a forest,' and the animals of the field shall eat them.12 And I will make desolate her vine and her fig-tree, whereof she hath said, These are my rewards which my lovers have given me; and I will make them a forest, and the beasts of the field shall eat them.
 "I will punish her for the days of the Baals When she used to offer sacrifices to them And adorn herself with her earrings and jewelry, And follow her lovers, so that she forgot Me," declares the LORD.13 And I will visit upon her the days of Baalim, wherein she burned incense to them, and she decked herself with her earrings and her jewels, and she went after her lovers, and forgat me, saith the LORD.13 I will punish her for all the times she burned incense as an offering to other gods-the Baals. She put on her rings and jewelry, and she chased after her lovers. She forgot me," declares the LORD.13 I will visit on her the days of the Baals, to which she burned incense, when she decked herself with her earrings and her jewels, and went after her lovers, and forgot me," says Yahweh.13 And I will visit upon her the days of the Baals, wherein she burned incense to them, and decked herself with her rings and jewels, and went after her lovers, and forgot me, saith Jehovah.
Restoration of Israel
 "Therefore, behold, I will allure her, Bring her into the wilderness And speak kindly to her.14 Therefore, behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak comfortably unto her.14 "That is why I'm going to win her back. I will lead her into the desert. I will speak tenderly to her.14 "Therefore, behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak tenderly to her.14 Therefore behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak to her heart.
 "Then I will give her her vineyards from there, And the valley of Achor as a door of hope. And she will sing there as in the days of her youth, As in the day when she came up from the land of Egypt.15 And I will give her her vineyards from thence, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope: and she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt.15 I will give her vineyards there. I will make the valley of Achor [Disaster] a door of hope. Then she will respond as she did when she was young, as she did when she came out of Egypt.15 I will give her vineyards from there, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope; and she will respond there, as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt.15 And I will give her her vineyards from thence, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope; and she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt.

 "It will come about in that day," declares the LORD, "That you will call Me Ishi And will no longer call Me Baali.16 And it shall be at that day, saith the LORD, that thou shalt call me Ishi; and shalt call me no more Baali.16 "On that day she will call me her husband," declares the LORD. "She will no longer call me her master. 16 It will be in that day," says Yahweh, "that you will call me 'my husband,' and no longer call me 'my master.'16 And it shall be in that day, saith Jehovah, that thou shalt call me, My husband, and shalt call me no more, Baali;
 "For I will remove the names of the Baals from her mouth, So that they will be mentioned by their names no more.17 For I will take away the names of Baalim out of her mouth, and they shall no more be remembered by their name.17 I won't allow her to say the names of other gods called Baal. She will never again call out their names.17 For I will take away the names of the Baals out of her mouth, and they will no longer be mentioned by name.17 for I will take away the names of the Baals out of her mouth, and they shall no more be remembered by their name.
 "In that day I will also make a covenant for them With the beasts of the field, The birds of the sky And the creeping things of the ground. And I will abolish the bow, the sword and war from the land, And will make them lie down in safety.18 And in that day will I make a covenant for them with the beasts of the field and with the fowls of heaven, and with the creeping things of the ground: and I will break the bow and the sword and the battle out of the earth, and will make them to lie down safely.18 "On that day I will make an arrangement with the wild animals, the birds, and the animals that crawl on the ground. I will destroy all the bows, swords, and weapons of war, so people can live safely.18 In that day I will make a covenant for them with the animals of the field, and with the birds of the sky, and with the creeping things of the ground. I will break the bow, the sword, and the battle out of the land, and will make them lie down safely.18 And I will make a covenant for them in that day with the beasts of the field, and with the fowl of the heavens, and the creeping things of the ground; and I will break bow and sword and battle out of the land; and I will make them to lie down safely.
 "I will betroth you to Me forever; Yes, I will betroth you to Me in righteousness and in justice, In lovingkindness and in compassion,19 And I will betroth thee unto me for ever; yea, I will betroth thee unto me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in lovingkindness, and in mercies.19 "Israel, I will make you my wife forever. I will be honest and faithful to you. I will show you my love and compassion.19 I will betroth you to me forever. Yes, I will betroth you to me in righteousness, in justice, in loving kindness, and in compassion.19 And I will betroth thee unto me for ever; and I will betroth thee unto me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in loving-kindness, and in mercies;
 And I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness. Then you will know the LORD.20 I will even betroth thee unto me in faithfulness: and thou shalt know the LORD.20 I will be true to you, my wife. Then you will know the LORD.20 I will even betroth you to me in faithfulness; and you shall know Yahweh.20 and I will betroth thee unto me in faithfulness: and thou shalt know Jehovah.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 "It will come about in that day that I will respond," declares the LORD. "I will respond to the heavens, and they will respond to the earth,21 And it shall come to pass in that day, I will hear, saith the LORD, I will hear the heavens, and they shall hear the earth;21 "On that day I will answer your [prayers]," declares the LORD. "I will speak to the sky, it will speak to the earth,21 It will happen in that day, I will respond," says Yahweh, "I will respond to the heavens, and they will respond to the earth;21 And it shall come to pass in that day, I will hear, saith Jehovah, I will hear the heavens, and they shall hear the earth;
 And the earth will respond to the grain, to the new wine and to the oil, And they will respond to Jezreel.22 And the earth shall hear the corn, and the wine, and the oil; and they shall hear Jezreel.22 and the earth will produce grain, new wine, and olive oil. You will produce many crops, Jezreel.22 and the earth will respond to the grain, and the new wine, and the oil; and they will respond to Jezreel.22 and the earth shall hear the corn, and the new wine, and the oil; and they shall hear Jizreel.
 "I will sow her for Myself in the land. I will also have compassion on her who had not obtained compassion, And I will say to those who were not My people, 'You are My people!' And they will say, 'You are my God!'"23 And I will sow her unto me in the earth; and I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them which were not my people, Thou art my people; and they shall say, Thou art my God.23 I will plant my people in the land. Those who are not loved I will call my loved ones. Those who are not my people I will call my people. Then they will say, 'You are our God!'"23 I will sow her to me in the earth; and I will have mercy on her who had not obtained mercy; and I will tell those who were not my people, 'You are my people;' and they will say, 'My God!'"23 And I will sow her unto me in the land; and I will have mercy upon Lo-ruhamah; and I will say to Lo-ammi, Thou art my people; and they shall say, My God.
