Evil Leaders Rebuked
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
The righteous man perishes, and no man takes it to heart; And devout men are taken away, while no one understands. For the righteous man is taken away from evil,1 The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come.1 Righteous people die, and no one cares. Loyal people are taken away, and no one understands. Righteous people are spared when evil comes.1 The righteous perishes, and no man lays it to heart; and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil [to come].1 The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart; and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from before the evil.
He enters into peace; They rest in their beds, Each one who walked in his upright way.2 He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness.2 When peace comes, everyone who has lived honestly will rest on his own bed.2 He enters into peace; they rest in their beds, each one who walks in his uprightness.2 He entereth into peace: they rest in their beds, each one that hath walked in his uprightness.
"But come here, you sons of a sorceress, Offspring of an adulterer and a prostitute.3 But draw near hither, ye sons of the sorceress, the seed of the adulterer and the whore.3 But you-come here, you children of witches, you descendants of adulterers and prostitutes!3 "But draw near here, you sons of the sorceress, the seed of the adulterer and the prostitute.3 But draw near hither, ye sons of the sorceress, the seed of the adulterer and the harlot.
"Against whom do you jest? Against whom do you open wide your mouth And stick out your tongue? Are you not children of rebellion, Offspring of deceit,4 Against whom do ye sport yourselves? against whom make ye a wide mouth, and draw out the tongue? are ye not children of transgression, a seed of falsehood.4 Whom are you making fun of? Whom are you making a face at? Whom are you sticking out your tongue at? Aren't you rebellious children, descendants of liars?4 Against whom do you sport yourselves? Against whom do you make a wide mouth, and stick out your tongue? Aren't you children of disobedience, a seed of falsehood,4 Against whom do ye sport yourselves? Against whom do ye make a wide mouth, and draw out the tongue? Are ye not children of transgression, a seed of falsehood,
Who inflame yourselves among the oaks, Under every luxuriant tree, Who slaughter the children in the ravines, Under the clefts of the crags?5 Enflaming yourselves with idols under every green tree, slaying the children in the valleys under the clifts of the rocks?5 You burn with lust under oak trees and under every large tree. You slaughter children in the valleys and under the cracks in the rocks.5 you who inflame yourselves among the oaks, under every green tree; who kill the children in the valleys, under the clefts of the rocks?5 inflaming yourselves with idols under every green tree, slaying the children in the valleys under the clefts of the rocks?

"Among the smooth stones of the ravine Is your portion, they are your lot; Even to them you have poured out a drink offering, You have made a grain offering. Shall I relent concerning these things?6 Among the smooth stones of the stream is thy portion; they, they are thy lot: even to them hast thou poured a drink offering, thou hast offered a meat offering. Should I receive comfort in these?6 Your idols are among the smooth stones in the ravine. They are your destiny. You have given them wine offerings and sacrificed grain offerings to them. Do you think I am pleased with all this?6 Among the smooth [stones] of the valley is your portion; they, they are your lot; you have even poured a drink offering to them. You have offered an offering. Shall I be appeased for these things?6 Among the smooth stones of the torrent is thy portion; they, they are thy lot: even to them hast thou poured out a drink-offering, thou hast offered an oblation. Shall I be comforted myself as to these things?
"Upon a high and lofty mountain You have made your bed. You also went up there to offer sacrifice.7 Upon a lofty and high mountain hast thou set thy bed: even thither wentest thou up to offer sacrifice.7 You've made your bed on a high and lofty mountain. You've gone to offer sacrifices there.7 On a high and lofty mountain you have set your bed; there also you went up to offer sacrifice.7 Upon a lofty and high mountain hast thou set thy bed: even thither didst thou go up to offer sacrifice.
"Behind the door and the doorpost You have set up your sign; Indeed, far removed from Me, you have uncovered yourself, And have gone up and made your bed wide. And you have made an agreement for yourself with them, You have loved their bed, You have looked on their manhood.8 Behind the doors also and the posts hast thou set up thy remembrance: for thou hast discovered thyself to another than me, and art gone up; thou hast enlarged thy bed, and made thee a covenant with them; thou lovedst their bed where thou sawest it.8 You've set up your idols beside doors and doorposts. You've uncovered yourself to the idols. You've distanced yourself from me. You've made your bed with them. You've made a deal with those you have pleasure with in bed. You've seen them naked.8 Behind the doors and the posts you have set up your memorial: for you have uncovered to someone besides me, and have gone up; you have enlarged your bed, and made you a covenant with them: you loved their bed where you saw it.8 Behind the doors also and the posts hast thou set up thy remembrance: for apart from me, thou hast uncovered thyself, and art gone up; thou hast enlarged thy bed, and hast made agreement with them; thou lovedst their bed, thou sawest their nakedness.
"You have journeyed to the king with oil And increased your perfumes; You have sent your envoys a great distance And made them go down to Sheol.9 And thou wentest to the king with ointment, and didst increase thy perfumes, and didst send thy messengers far off, and didst debase thyself even unto hell.9 You've journeyed to the king with perfumed oils and put on plenty of perfume. You've sent your ambassadors far away and sent them down to Sheol.9 You went to the king with oil, and did increase your perfumes, and did send your ambassadors far off, and debased yourself even to Sheol.9 And thou wentest to the king with ointment, and didst multiply thy perfumes, and didst send thy messengers afar off, and didst debase thyself unto Sheol.
"You were tired out by the length of your road, Yet you did not say, 'It is hopeless.' You found renewed strength, Therefore you did not faint.10 Thou art wearied in the greatness of thy way; yet saidst thou not, There is no hope: thou hast found the life of thine hand; therefore thou wast not grieved.10 You've tired yourself out with many journeys. You didn't think that it was hopeless. You've found renewed strength, so you didn't faint.10 You were wearied with the length of your way; yet you didn't say, 'It is in vain.' You found a reviving of your strength; therefore you weren't faint.10 Thou wast wearied by the multitude of thy ways; but thou saidst not, It is of no avail. Thou didst find a quickening of thy strength; therefore thou wast not sick of it.

"Of whom were you worried and fearful When you lied, and did not remember Me Nor give Me a thought? Was I not silent even for a long time So you do not fear Me?11 And of whom hast thou been afraid or feared, that thou hast lied, and hast not remembered me, nor laid it to thy heart? have not I held my peace even of old, and thou fearest me not?11 Whom did you dread and fear so much that you lied to me? You haven't remembered me or cared about me. I've been silent for a long time. Is that why you don't fear me?11 "Of whom have you been afraid and in fear, that you lie, and have not remembered me, nor laid it to your heart? Haven't I held my peace even of long time, and you don't fear me?11 And of whom hast thou been afraid or feared, that thou hast lied, and hast not remembered me, nor taken it to heart? Have not I even of long time held my peace, and thou fearest me not?
"I will declare your righteousness and your deeds, But they will not profit you.12 I will declare thy righteousness, and thy works; for they shall not profit thee.12 I'll tell you about your righteous ways and what you have done, but they won't help you.12 I will declare your righteousness; and as for your works, they shall not profit you.12 I will declare thy righteousness, and thy works; and they shall not profit thee.
"When you cry out, let your collection of idols deliver you. But the wind will carry all of them up, And a breath will take them away. But he who takes refuge in Me will inherit the land And will possess My holy mountain."13 When thou criest, let thy companies deliver thee; but the wind shall carry them all away; vanity shall take them: but he that putteth his trust in me shall possess the land, and shall inherit my holy mountain;13 When you cry for help, let your collection of idols save you. A wind will carry them all away. A breath will take them away. But whoever trusts me will possess the land and inherit my holy mountain.13 When you cry, let those who you have gathered deliver you; but the wind shall take them, a breath shall carry them all away: but he who takes refuge in me shall possess the land, and shall inherit my holy mountain."13 When thou criest, let them that are gathered by thee deliver thee! But a wind shall carry them all away, a breath shall take them; but he that putteth his trust in me shall inherit the land, and possess my holy mountain.
And it will be said, "Build up, build up, prepare the way, Remove every obstacle out of the way of My people."14 And shall say, Cast ye up, cast ye up, prepare the way, take up the stumblingblock out of the way of my people.14 It will be said: "Build a road! Build a road! Prepare the way! Remove every obstacle in the way of my people!"14 He will say, "Cast up, cast up, prepare the way, take up the stumbling-block out of the way of my people."14 And it shall be said, Cast up, cast up, prepare the way, take up the stumbling-blocks out of the way of my people.
For thus says the high and exalted One Who lives forever, whose name is Holy, "I dwell on a high and holy place, And also with the contrite and lowly of spirit In order to revive the spirit of the lowly And to revive the heart of the contrite.15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.15 The High and Lofty One lives forever, and his name is holy. This is what he says: I live in a high and holy place. But I am with those who are crushed and humble. I will renew the spirit of those who are humble and the courage of those who are crushed.15 For thus says the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: "I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also who is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite.15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, and whose name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy place, and with him that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

"For I will not contend forever, Nor will I always be angry; For the spirit would grow faint before Me, And the breath of those whom I have made.16 For I will not contend for ever, neither will I be always wroth: for the spirit should fail before me, and the souls which I have made.16 I will not accuse you forever. I will not be angry with you forever. Otherwise, the spirits, the lives of those I've made, would grow faint in my presence.16 For I will not contend forever, neither will I be always angry; for the spirit would faint before me, and the souls who I have made.16 For I will not contend for ever, neither will I be always wroth; for the spirit would fail before me, and the souls which I have made.
"Because of the iniquity of his unjust gain I was angry and struck him; I hid My face and was angry, And he went on turning away, in the way of his heart.17 For the iniquity of his covetousness was I wroth, and smote him: I hid me, and was wroth, and he went on frowardly in the way of his heart.17 I was angry because of their sinful greed, so I punished them, hid [from them], and remained angry. But they continued to be sinful.17 For the iniquity of his covetousness was I angry, and struck him; I hid [my face] and was angry; and he went on backsliding in the way of his heart.17 For the iniquity of his covetousness was I wroth, and smote him; I hid me, and was wroth, and he went on backslidingly in the way of his heart.
"I have seen his ways, but I will heal him; I will lead him and restore comfort to him and to his mourners,18 I have seen his ways, and will heal him: I will lead him also, and restore comforts unto him and to his mourners.18 I've seen their [sinful] ways, but I'll heal them. I'll guide them and give them rest. I'll comfort them and their mourners.18 I have seen his ways, and will heal him: I will lead him also, and restore comforts to him and to his mourners.18 I have seen his ways, and will heal him; and I will lead him, and will restore comforts unto him and to those of his that mourn.
Creating the praise of the lips. Peace, peace to him who is far and to him who is near," Says the LORD, "and I will heal him."19 I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, saith the LORD; and I will heal him.19 I'll create praise on their lips: "Perfect peace to those both far and near." "I'll heal them," says the LORD.19 I create the fruit of the lips: Peace, peace, to him who is far off and to him who is near," says Yahweh; "and I will heal them."19 I create the fruit of the lips: peace, peace to him that is afar off, and to him that is nigh, saith Jehovah; and I will heal him.
But the wicked are like the tossing sea, For it cannot be quiet, And its waters toss up refuse and mud.20 But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt.20 But the wicked are like the churning sea. It isn't quiet, and its water throws up mud and slime.20 But the wicked are like the troubled sea; for it can't rest, and its waters cast up mire and dirt.20 But the wicked are like the troubled sea, which cannot rest, and whose waters cast up mire and dirt.

"There is no peace," says my God, "for the wicked."21 There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.21 "There is no peace for the wicked," says my God.21 "There is no peace," says my God, "for the wicked."21 There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.
