Law of Cleansing a Leper | ||||
NASB | KJV | GWT | WEB | DBY |
1 Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, | 1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, | 1 The LORD spoke to Moses, | 1 Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, | 1 And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying, | 2 "This shall be the law of the leper in the day of his cleansing. Now he shall be brought to the priest, | 2 This shall be the law of the leper in the day of his cleansing: He shall be brought unto the priest: | 2 "These are the instructions for making a person clean after a skin disease. He must be taken to the priest. | 2 "This shall be the law of the leper in the day of his cleansing. He shall be brought to the priest, | 2 This shall be the law of the leper in the day of his cleansing: he shall be brought unto the priest, | 3 and the priest shall go out to the outside of the camp. Thus the priest shall look, and if the infection of leprosy has been healed in the leper, | 3 And the priest shall go forth out of the camp; and the priest shall look, and, behold, if the plague of leprosy be healed in the leper; | 3 The priest will go outside the camp and examine him. If the person is healed, | 3 and the priest shall go forth out of the camp. The priest shall examine him, and behold, if the plague of leprosy is healed in the leper, | 3 and the priest shall go out of the camp; and when the priest looketh, and behold, the sore of leprosy is healed in the leper, | 4 then the priest shall give orders to take two live clean birds and cedar wood and a scarlet string and hyssop for the one who is to be cleansed. | 4 Then shall the priest command to take for him that is to be cleansed two birds alive and clean, and cedar wood, and scarlet, and hyssop: | 4 the priest will order someone to get two living, clean birds, some cedar wood, red yarn, and a hyssop sprig to use for the cleansing. | 4 then the priest shall command them to take for him who is to be cleansed two living clean birds, and cedar wood, and scarlet, and hyssop. | 4 then shall the priest command to take for him that is to be cleansed two clean living birds, and cedar-wood, and scarlet, and hyssop. | 5 "The priest shall also give orders to slay the one bird in an earthenware vessel over running water. | 5 And the priest shall command that one of the birds be killed in an earthen vessel over running water: | 5 Then the priest will order someone to kill one bird over a clay bowl containing fresh water. | 5 The priest shall command them to kill one of the birds in an earthen vessel over running water. | 5 And the priest shall command that one bird be killed in an earthen vessel over running water: | NASB | KJV | GWT | WEB | DBY |
6 "As for the live bird, he shall take it together with the cedar wood and the scarlet string and the hyssop, and shall dip them and the live bird in the blood of the bird that was slain over the running water. | 6 As for the living bird, he shall take it, and the cedar wood, and the scarlet, and the hyssop, and shall dip them and the living bird in the blood of the bird that was killed over the running water: | 6 The priest will take the living bird, the cedar wood, the red yarn, and the hyssop sprig and dip them and the living bird in the blood of the bird that was killed over the fresh water. | 6 As for the living bird, he shall take it, and the cedar wood, and the scarlet, and the hyssop, and shall dip them and the living bird in the blood of the bird that was killed over the running water. | 6 as to the living bird he shall take it, and the cedar-wood, and the scarlet, and the hyssop, and dip them and the living bird in the blood of the bird that was killed over the running water; | 7 "He shall then sprinkle seven times the one who is to be cleansed from the leprosy and shall pronounce him clean, and shall let the live bird go free over the open field. | 7 And he shall sprinkle upon him that is to be cleansed from the leprosy seven times, and shall pronounce him clean, and shall let the living bird loose into the open field. | 7 He will sprinkle the blood seven times on the one to be cleansed and will declare that person clean. Then he will let the living bird fly away into the open country. | 7 He shall sprinkle on him who is to be cleansed from the leprosy seven times, and shall pronounce him clean, and shall let the living bird go into the open field. | 7 and he shall sprinkle upon him that is to be cleansed from the leprosy seven times, and shall pronounce him clean, and shall let the living bird loose into the open field. | 8 "The one to be cleansed shall then wash his clothes and shave off all his hair and bathe in water and be clean. Now afterward, he may enter the camp, but he shall stay outside his tent for seven days. | 8 And he that is to be cleansed shall wash his clothes, and shave off all his hair, and wash himself in water, that he may be clean: and after that he shall come into the camp, and shall tarry abroad out of his tent seven days. | 8 "The one to be cleansed must wash his clothes, shave off all his hair, and wash. Then he will be clean. After that he may go into the camp. However, for seven days he will live outside his tent. | 8 "He who is to be cleansed shall wash his clothes, and shave off all his hair, and bathe himself in water; and he shall be clean. After that he shall come into the camp, but shall dwell outside his tent seven days. | 8 And he that is to be cleansed shall wash his garments, and shave all his hair, and bathe in water, and he shall be clean; and afterwards shall he come into the camp, and shall abide outside his tent seven days. | 9 "It will be on the seventh day that he shall shave off all his hair: he shall shave his head and his beard and his eyebrows, even all his hair. He shall then wash his clothes and bathe his body in water and be clean. | 9 But it shall be on the seventh day, that he shall shave all his hair off his head and his beard and his eyebrows, even all his hair he shall shave off: and he shall wash his clothes, also he shall wash his flesh in water, and he shall be clean. | 9 On the seventh day he must shave off all the hair on his head, his beard, and his eyebrows, and he must wash his clothes and body. Then he will be clean. | 9 It shall be on the seventh day, that he shall shave all his hair off his head and his beard and his eyebrows, even all his hair he shall shave off. He shall wash his clothes, and he shall bathe his body in water, then he shall be clean. | 9 And it shall come to pass on the seventh day, that he shall shave all his hair, his head, and his beard, and his eyebrows, even all his hair shall he shave, and he shall wash his garments, and shall bathe his flesh in water, and he is clean. | 10 "Now on the eighth day he is to take two male lambs without defect, and a yearling ewe lamb without defect, and three-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil for a grain offering, and one log of oil; | 10 And on the eighth day he shall take two he lambs without blemish, and one ewe lamb of the first year without blemish, and three tenth deals of fine flour for a meat offering, mingled with oil, and one log of oil. | 10 "On the eighth day he must take two male lambs that have no defects and a one-year-old female lamb that has no defects. He must also take eight cups of flour mixed with olive oil for a grain offering along with a quart of olive oil. | 10 "On the eighth day he shall take two male lambs without blemish, and one ewe lamb a year old without blemish, and three tenths of an ephah of fine flour for a meal offering, mingled with oil, and one log of oil. | 10 And on the eighth day he shall take two he-lambs without blemish, and one yearling ewe-lamb without blemish, and three tenth parts of fine flour mingled with oil, for an oblation, and one log of oil. | NASB | KJV | GWT | WEB | DBY |
11 and the priest who pronounces him clean shall present the man to be cleansed and the aforesaid before the LORD at the doorway of the tent of meeting. | 11 And the priest that maketh him clean shall present the man that is to be made clean, and those things, before the LORD, at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: | 11 The priest who will declare him clean must bring the person and his offerings into the LORD's presence at the entrance to the tent of meeting. | 11 The priest who cleanses him shall set the man who is to be cleansed, and those things, before Yahweh, at the door of the Tent of Meeting. | 11 And the priest that cleanseth him shall present the man that is to be cleansed and those things before Jehovah, at the entrance of the tent of meeting. | 12 "Then the priest shall take the one male lamb and bring it for a guilt offering, with the log of oil, and present them as a wave offering before the LORD. | 12 And the priest shall take one he lamb, and offer him for a trespass offering, and the log of oil, and wave them for a wave offering before the LORD: | 12 The priest will take one of the male lambs and the quart of olive oil and present them to the LORD as a guilt offering. | 12 "The priest shall take one of the male lambs, and offer him for a trespass offering, with the log of oil, and wave them for a wave offering before Yahweh. | 12 And the priest shall take one he-lamb, and present it for a trespass-offering, and the log of oil, and wave them as a wave-offering before Jehovah. | 13 "Next he shall slaughter the male lamb in the place where they slaughter the sin offering and the burnt offering, at the place of the sanctuary-- for the guilt offering, like the sin offering, belongs to the priest; it is most holy. | 13 And he shall slay the lamb in the place where he shall kill the sin offering and the burnt offering, in the holy place: for as the sin offering is the priest's, so is the trespass offering: it is most holy: | 13 He will slaughter the lamb in the holy place where he slaughters the offering for sin and the burnt offering. He will do this because the guilt offering, like the offering for sin, belongs to the priest. It is very holy. | 13 He shall kill the male lamb in the place where they kill the sin offering and the burnt offering, in the place of the sanctuary; for as the sin offering is the priest's, so is the trespass offering. It is most holy. | 13 And he shall slaughter the he-lamb at the place where the sin-offering and the burnt-offering are slaughtered, in a holy place; for as the sin-offering, so the trespass-offering is the priest's: it is most holy. | 14 "The priest shall then take some of the blood of the guilt offering, and the priest shall put it on the lobe of the right ear of the one to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand and on the big toe of his right foot. | 14 And the priest shall take some of the blood of the trespass offering, and the priest shall put it upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot: | 14 Then the priest will take some of the blood from the guilt offering and put it on the right ear lobe, on the right thumb, and on the big toe of the right foot of the one to be cleansed. | 14 The priest shall take some of the blood of the trespass offering, and the priest shall put it on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot. | 14 And the priest shall take of the blood of the trespass-offering, and the priest shall put it on the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the great toe of his right foot. | 15 "The priest shall also take some of the log of oil, and pour it into his left palm; | 15 And the priest shall take some of the log of oil, and pour it into the palm of his own left hand: | 15 The priest will also take some of the olive oil and pour it into his own left hand. | 15 The priest shall take some of the log of oil, and pour it into the palm of his own left hand. | 15 And the priest shall take of the log of oil, and pour it into his, the priest's, left hand; | NASB | KJV | GWT | WEB | DBY |
16 the priest shall then dip his right-hand finger into the oil that is in his left palm, and with his finger sprinkle some of the oil seven times before the LORD. | 16 And the priest shall dip his right finger in the oil that is in his left hand, and shall sprinkle of the oil with his finger seven times before the LORD: | 16 He will dip his right finger in the oil in his left hand, and with his finger sprinkle some of the oil seven times in the LORD's presence. | 16 The priest shall dip his right finger in the oil that is in his left hand, and shall sprinkle some of the oil with his finger seven times before Yahweh. | 16 and the priest shall dip his right finger in the oil that is in his left hand, and shall sprinkle of the oil with his finger seven times before Jehovah. | 17 "Of the remaining oil which is in his palm, the priest shall put some on the right ear lobe of the one to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot, on the blood of the guilt offering; | 17 And of the rest of the oil that is in his hand shall the priest put upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot, upon the blood of the trespass offering: | 17 The priest will put some of the oil that is still in his hand on the right ear lobe, on the right thumb, and on the big toe of the right foot of the one to be cleansed. These are the same places he had put the blood of the guilt offering. | 17 The priest shall put some of the rest of the oil that is in his hand on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot, upon the blood of the trespass offering. | 17 And of the rest of the oil that is in his hand shall the priest put on the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the great toe of his right foot, upon the blood of the trespass-offering. | 18 while the rest of the oil that is in the priest's palm, he shall put on the head of the one to be cleansed. So the priest shall make atonement on his behalf before the LORD. | 18 And the remnant of the oil that is in the priest's hand he shall pour upon the head of him that is to be cleansed: and the priest shall make an atonement for him before the LORD. | 18 The priest will put the rest of the oil in his hand on the head of the one to be cleansed. So he will make peace with the LORD for that person in the LORD's presence. | 18 The rest of the oil that is in the priest's hand he shall put on the head of him who is to be cleansed, and the priest shall make atonement for him before Yahweh. | 18 And the remainder of the oil that is in the priest's hand he shall put upon the head of him that is to be cleansed, and the priest shall make atonement for him before Jehovah. | 19 "The priest shall next offer the sin offering and make atonement for the one to be cleansed from his uncleanness. Then afterward, he shall slaughter the burnt offering. | 19 And the priest shall offer the sin offering, and make an atonement for him that is to be cleansed from his uncleanness; and afterward he shall kill the burnt offering: | 19 The priest will also sacrifice the offering for sin to make peace with the LORD for the one who is being cleansed from his impurity. After that, he will slaughter the burnt offering. | 19 "The priest shall offer the sin offering, and make atonement for him who is to be cleansed because of his uncleanness: and afterward he shall kill the burnt offering; | 19 And the priest shall offer the sin-offering, and make atonement for him that is to be cleansed from his uncleanness; and afterwards shall he slaughter the burnt-offering. | 20 "The priest shall offer up the burnt offering and the grain offering on the altar. Thus the priest shall make atonement for him, and he will be clean. | 20 And the priest shall offer the burnt offering and the meat offering upon the altar: and the priest shall make an atonement for him, and he shall be clean. | 20 The priest will sacrifice the burnt offering and the grain offering on the altar. So the priest will make peace with the LORD for that person, and the person who had the skin disease will be clean. | 20 and the priest shall offer the burnt offering and the meal offering on the altar. The priest shall make atonement for him, and he shall be clean. | 20 And the priest shall offer the burnt-offering and the oblation upon the altar; and the priest shall make atonement for him, and he shall be clean. | NASB | KJV | GWT | WEB | DBY |
21 "But if he is poor and his means are insufficient, then he is to take one male lamb for a guilt offering as a wave offering to make atonement for him, and one-tenth of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil for a grain offering, and a log of oil, | 21 And if he be poor, and cannot get so much; then he shall take one lamb for a trespass offering to be waved, to make an atonement for him, and one tenth deal of fine flour mingled with oil for a meat offering, and a log of oil; | 21 "But if the one to be cleansed is poor and cannot afford that much, he must take one male lamb, present it to make peace with the LORD for himself, and use it for his guilt offering. He will take only eight cups of flour mixed with olive oil as a grain offering, a quart of olive oil, | 21 "If he is poor, and can't afford so much, then he shall take one male lamb for a trespass offering to be waved, to make atonement for him, and one tenth of an ephah of fine flour mingled with oil for a meal offering, and a log of oil; | 21 But if he be poor, and his hand be not able to get it, then he shall take one lamb for a trespass-offering, for a wave-offering, to make atonement for him; and one tenth part of fine flour mingled with oil for an oblation; and a log of oil, | 22 and two turtledoves or two young pigeons which are within his means, the one shall be a sin offering and the other a burnt offering. | 22 And two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, such as he is able to get; and the one shall be a sin offering, and the other a burnt offering. | 22 and two mourning doves or two pigeons (whatever he can afford). The one will be an offering for sin and the other a burnt offering. | 22 and two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, such as he is able to afford; and the one shall be a sin offering, and the other a burnt offering. | 22 and two turtle-doves, or two young pigeons, as his hand may be able to get: the one shall be a sin-offering, and the other a burnt-offering. | 23 "Then the eighth day he shall bring them for his cleansing to the priest, at the doorway of the tent of meeting, before the LORD. | 23 And he shall bring them on the eighth day for his cleansing unto the priest, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, before the LORD. | 23 On the eighth day he will take them to the priest for his cleansing at the entrance to the tent of meeting in the LORD's presence. | 23 "On the eighth day he shall bring them for his cleansing to the priest, to the door of the Tent of Meeting, before Yahweh. | 23 And he shall bring them on the eighth day of his cleansing unto the priest, unto the entrance of the tent of meeting, before Jehovah. | 24 "The priest shall take the lamb of the guilt offering and the log of oil, and the priest shall offer them for a wave offering before the LORD. | 24 And the priest shall take the lamb of the trespass offering, and the log of oil, and the priest shall wave them for a wave offering before the LORD: | 24 The priest will take the lamb for the guilt offering and the quart of olive oil and present them to the LORD. | 24 The priest shall take the lamb of the trespass offering, and the log of oil, and the priest shall wave them for a wave offering before Yahweh. | 24 And the priest shall take the he-lamb of the trespass-offering, and the log of oil, and the priest shall wave them as a wave-offering before Jehovah. | 25 "Next he shall slaughter the lamb of the guilt offering; and the priest is to take some of the blood of the guilt offering and put it on the lobe of the right ear of the one to be cleansed and on the thumb of his right hand and on the big toe of his right foot. | 25 And he shall kill the lamb of the trespass offering, and the priest shall take some of the blood of the trespass offering, and put it upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot: | 25 He will slaughter the lamb as a guilt offering. Then the priest will take some of the blood of the guilt offering and put it on the right ear lobe, on the right thumb, and on the big toe of the right foot of the one to be cleansed. | 25 He shall kill the lamb of the trespass offering. The priest shall take some of the blood of the trespass offering and put it on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot. | 25 And he shall slaughter the he-lamb of the trespass-offering; and the priest shall take of the blood of the trespass-offering, and put it upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and on the great toe of his right foot. | NASB | KJV | GWT | WEB | DBY |
26 "The priest shall also pour some of the oil into his left palm; | 26 And the priest shall pour of the oil into the palm of his own left hand: | 26 The priest will pour some of the olive oil into his own left hand. | 26 The priest shall pour some of the oil into the palm of his own left hand; | 26 And the priest shall pour of the oil into his, the priest's, left hand, | 27 and with his right-hand finger the priest shall sprinkle some of the oil that is in his left palm seven times before the LORD. | 27 And the priest shall sprinkle with his right finger some of the oil that is in his left hand seven times before the LORD: | 27 With his right finger he will sprinkle some of the oil seven times in the LORD's presence. | 27 and the priest shall sprinkle with his right finger some of the oil that is in his left hand seven times before Yahweh. | 27 and the priest shall sprinkle with his right finger of the oil that is in his left hand seven times before Jehovah. | 28 "The priest shall then put some of the oil that is in his palm on the lobe of the right ear of the one to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand and on the big toe of his right foot, on the place of the blood of the guilt offering. | 28 And the priest shall put of the oil that is in his hand upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot, upon the place of the blood of the trespass offering: | 28 The priest will put some of the oil that is in his hand on the right ear lobe, on the right thumb, and on the big toe of the right foot of the one to be cleansed. These are the same places he had put the blood of the guilt offering. | 28 Then the priest shall put some of the oil that is in his hand on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot, on the place of the blood of the trespass offering. | 28 And the priest shall put of the oil that is in his hand upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and on the great toe of his right foot, upon the place of the blood of the trespass-offering. | 29 "Moreover, the rest of the oil that is in the priest's palm he shall put on the head of the one to be cleansed, to make atonement on his behalf before the LORD. | 29 And the rest of the oil that is in the priest's hand he shall put upon the head of him that is to be cleansed, to make an atonement for him before the LORD. | 29 In the LORD's presence, the priest will pour the rest of the oil in his hand on the head of the one to be cleansed in order to make a payment for him. | 29 The rest of the oil that is in the priest's hand he shall put on the head of him who is to be cleansed, to make atonement for him before Yahweh. | 29 And the remainder of the oil that is in the priest's hand he shall put upon the head of him that is to be cleansed, to make atonement for him before Jehovah. | 30 "He shall then offer one of the turtledoves or young pigeons, which are within his means. | 30 And he shall offer the one of the turtledoves, or of the young pigeons, such as he can get; | 30 Then the one to be cleansed must take one of the mourning doves or pigeons (whichever he can afford), | 30 He shall offer one of the turtledoves, or of the young pigeons, such as he is able to afford, | 30 And he shall offer one of the turtle-doves, or of the young pigeons, of what his hand was able to get; | NASB | KJV | GWT | WEB | DBY |
31 "He shall offer what he can afford, the one for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering, together with the grain offering. So the priest shall make atonement before the LORD on behalf of the one to be cleansed. | 31 Even such as he is able to get, the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering, with the meat offering: and the priest shall make an atonement for him that is to be cleansed before the LORD. | 31 and sacrifice it as an offering for sin. He will take the other and sacrifice it as a burnt offering together with the grain offering. So in the LORD's presence the priest will make peace with the LORD for the one who is being cleansed. | 31 even such as he is able to afford, the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering, with the meal offering. The priest shall make atonement for him who is to be cleansed before Yahweh." | 31 of what his hand was able to get shall the one be a sin-offering, and the other a burnt-offering, with the oblation; and the priest shall make atonement for him that is to be cleansed before Jehovah. | 32 "This is the law for him in whom there is an infection of leprosy, whose means are limited for his cleansing." | 32 This is the law of him in whom is the plague of leprosy, whose hand is not able to get that which pertaineth to his cleansing. | 32 These are the instructions for one who has an infectious skin disease but cannot afford what is needed for his cleansing." | 32 This is the law for him in whom is the plague of leprosy, who is not able to afford the sacrifice for his cleansing. | 32 This is the law for him in whom is the sore of leprosy, whose hand cannot get what is regularly prescribed in his cleansing. | Cleansing a Leprous House |
33 The LORD further spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying: | 33 And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying, | 33 The LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron, | 33 Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying, | 33 And Jehovah spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying, | 34 "When you enter the land of Canaan, which I give you for a possession, and I put a mark of leprosy on a house in the land of your possession, | 34 When ye be come into the land of Canaan, which I give to you for a possession, and I put the plague of leprosy in a house of the land of your possession; | 34 "When you come to Canaan that I am going to give to you, mildew may appear in a house. | 34 "When you have come into the land of Canaan, which I give to you for a possession, and I put a spreading mildew in a house in the land of your possession, | 34 When ye come into the land of Canaan, which I give to you for a possession, and I put a leprous plague in a house of the land of your possession, | 35 then the one who owns the house shall come and tell the priest, saying, 'Something like a mark of leprosy has become visible to me in the house.' | 35 And he that owneth the house shall come and tell the priest, saying, It seemeth to me there is as it were a plague in the house: | 35 The owner of that house must come and tell the priest that there is something that looks like mildew in his house. | 35 then he who owns the house shall come and tell the priest, saying, 'There seems to me to be some sort of plague in the house.' | 35 then he whose house it is shall come and tell the priest, saying, It seemeth to me like a plague in the house; | NASB | KJV | GWT | WEB | DBY |
36 "The priest shall then command that they empty the house before the priest goes in to look at the mark, so that everything in the house need not become unclean; and afterward the priest shall go in to look at the house. | 36 Then the priest shall command that they empty the house, before the priest go into it to see the plague, that all that is in the house be not made unclean: and afterward the priest shall go in to see the house: | 36 "Before the priest examines the house, he will order everything taken out of it so that nothing in the house will become unclean. Then the priest will go inside to examine the house. | 36 The priest shall command that they empty the house, before the priest goes in to examine the plague, that all that is in the house not be made unclean: and afterward the priest shall go in to inspect the house. | 36 and the priest shall command that they empty the house before the priest go into it to see the plague, that all that is in the house be not made unclean; and afterwards the priest shall go in to see the house. | 37 "So he shall look at the mark, and if the mark on the walls of the house has greenish or reddish depressions and appears deeper than the surface, | 37 And he shall look on the plague, and, behold, if the plague be in the walls of the house with hollow streaks, greenish or reddish, which in sight are lower than the wall; | 37 He will examine the mildew area on the walls. If it is green and red in sunken areas that are deeper than the rest of the wall, | 37 He shall examine the plague; and behold, if the plague is in the walls of the house with hollow streaks, greenish or reddish, and it appears to be deeper than the wall; | 37 And when he looketh on the plague, and behold, the plague is in the walls of the house, greenish or reddish hollows, and their look is deeper than the surface of the wall, | 38 then the priest shall come out of the house, to the doorway, and quarantine the house for seven days. | 38 Then the priest shall go out of the house to the door of the house, and shut up the house seven days: | 38 the priest will go out to the door of the house and close up the house for seven days. | 38 then the priest shall go out of the house to the door of the house, and shut up the house seven days. | 38 then the priest shall go out of the house to the entrance of the house, and shut up the house seven days. | 39 "The priest shall return on the seventh day and make an inspection. If the mark has indeed spread in the walls of the house, | 39 And the priest shall come again the seventh day, and shall look: and, behold, if the plague be spread in the walls of the house; | 39 On the seventh day the priest will go back and examine it again. If the mildew in the walls of the house has spread, | 39 The priest shall come again on the seventh day, and look. If the plague has spread in the walls of the house, | 39 And the priest shall come again the seventh day, and when he looketh, and behold, the plague hath spread in the walls of the house, | 40 then the priest shall order them to tear out the stones with the mark in them and throw them away at an unclean place outside the city. | 40 Then the priest shall command that they take away the stones in which the plague is, and they shall cast them into an unclean place without the city: | 40 the priest must order the stones that have the mildew to be torn out and thrown outside the city in an unclean place. | 40 then the priest shall command that they take out the stones in which is the plague, and cast them into an unclean place outside of the city: | 40 then the priest shall command that they take away the stones in which the plague is, and they shall cast them out of the city, in an unclean place. | NASB | KJV | GWT | WEB | DBY |
41 "He shall have the house scraped all around inside, and they shall dump the plaster that they scrape off at an unclean place outside the city. | 41 And he shall cause the house to be scraped within round about, and they shall pour out the dust that they scrape off without the city into an unclean place: | 41 He must have the entire inside of the house scraped. The plaster dust scraped off the walls must be dumped in an unclean place outside the city. | 41 and he shall cause the inside of the house to be scraped all over, and they shall pour out the mortar, that they scraped off, outside of the city into an unclean place. | 41 And he shall cause the house to be scraped within round about, and they shall pour out the mortar that they have scraped off, out of the city in an unclean place. | 42 "Then they shall take other stones and replace those stones, and he shall take other plaster and replaster the house. | 42 And they shall take other stones, and put them in the place of those stones; and he shall take other mortar, and shall plaster the house. | 42 The stones must be replaced, and the house must be plastered again. | 42 They shall take other stones, and put them in the place of those stones; and he shall take other mortar, and shall plaster the house. | 42 And they shall take other stones, and put them in the place of those stones; and they shall take other mortar, and shall plaster the house. | 43 "If, however, the mark breaks out again in the house after he has torn out the stones and scraped the house, and after it has been replastered, | 43 And if the plague come again, and break out in the house, after that he hath taken away the stones, and after he hath scraped the house, and after it is plastered; | 43 If the mildew develops again in the house after all this, | 43 "If the plague comes again, and breaks out in the house, after he has taken out the stones, and after he has scraped the house, and after it was plastered; | 43 And if the plague come again, and break out in the house, after he hath taken away the stones, and after he hath scraped the house, and after it is plastered, | 44 then the priest shall come in and make an inspection. If he sees that the mark has indeed spread in the house, it is a malignant mark in the house; it is unclean. | 44 Then the priest shall come and look, and, behold, if the plague be spread in the house, it is a fretting leprosy in the house; it is unclean. | 44 the priest will examine it one more time. If it is a spreading type of mildew, the house is unclean. | 44 then the priest shall come in and look; and behold, if the plague has spread in the house, it is a destructive mildew in the house. It is unclean. | 44 then the priest shall come, and when he looketh, and behold, the plague hath spread in the house, it is a corroding leprosy in the house: it is unclean. | 45 "He shall therefore tear down the house, its stones, and its timbers, and all the plaster of the house, and he shall take them outside the city to an unclean place. | 45 And he shall break down the house, the stones of it, and the timber thereof, and all the mortar of the house; and he shall carry them forth out of the city into an unclean place. | 45 The house-stones, wood, and all the plaster-must be torn down and taken to an unclean place outside the city. | 45 He shall break down the house, its stones, and its timber, and all the house's mortar. He shall carry them out of the city into an unclean place. | 45 And they shall break down the house, the stones of it, and the timber thereof, and all the mortar of the house, and shall carry them forth out of the city to an unclean place. | NASB | KJV | GWT | WEB | DBY |
46 "Moreover, whoever goes into the house during the time that he has quarantined it, becomes unclean until evening. | 46 Moreover he that goeth into the house all the while that it is shut up shall be unclean until the even. | 46 Whoever goes into the house any time it is closed up will be unclean until evening. | 46 "Moreover he who goes into the house while it is shut up shall be unclean until the evening. | 46 And he that goeth into the house as long as it is shut up shall be unclean until the even. | 47 "Likewise, whoever lies down in the house shall wash his clothes, and whoever eats in the house shall wash his clothes. | 47 And he that lieth in the house shall wash his clothes; and he that eateth in the house shall wash his clothes. | 47 Whoever sleeps or eats in the house must wash his clothes. | 47 He who lies down in the house shall wash his clothes; and he who eats in the house shall wash his clothes. | 47 And he that sleepeth in the house shall wash his garments, and he that eateth in the house shall wash his garments. | 48 "If, on the other hand, the priest comes in and makes an inspection and the mark has not indeed spread in the house after the house has been replastered, then the priest shall pronounce the house clean because the mark has not reappeared. | 48 And if the priest shall come in, and look upon it, and, behold, the plague hath not spread in the house, after the house was plastered: then the priest shall pronounce the house clean, because the plague is healed. | 48 But if the priest comes and makes an examination and the mildew has not spread in the house after it is plastered again, the priest must declare the house clean. The mildew is gone. | 48 "If the priest shall come in, and examine it, and behold, the plague hasn't spread in the house, after the house was plastered, then the priest shall pronounce the house clean, because the plague is healed. | 48 But if the priest shall come in and look, and behold, the plague hath not spread in the house, after the house hath been plastered, the priest shall pronounce the house clean; for the plague is healed. | 49 "To cleanse the house then, he shall take two birds and cedar wood and a scarlet string and hyssop, | 49 And he shall take to cleanse the house two birds, and cedar wood, and scarlet, and hyssop: | 49 "The priest must take two birds, cedar wood, red yarn, and a hyssop sprig and use them to make the house clean. | 49 To cleanse the house he shall take two birds, and cedar wood, and scarlet, and hyssop. | 49 And he shall take, to purge the house from the defilement, two birds, and cedar-wood, and scarlet, and hyssop; | 50 and he shall slaughter the one bird in an earthenware vessel over running water. | 50 And he shall kill the one of the birds in an earthen vessel over running water: | 50 He must kill the one bird over a clay bowl containing fresh water. | 50 He shall kill one of the birds in an earthen vessel over running water. | 50 and he shall kill one bird in an earthen vessel over running water; | NASB | KJV | GWT | WEB | DBY |
51 "Then he shall take the cedar wood and the hyssop and the scarlet string, with the live bird, and dip them in the blood of the slain bird as well as in the running water, and sprinkle the house seven times. | 51 And he shall take the cedar wood, and the hyssop, and the scarlet, and the living bird, and dip them in the blood of the slain bird, and in the running water, and sprinkle the house seven times: | 51 He must take the cedar wood, the hyssop sprig, the red yarn, and the living bird and dip them in the fresh water containing the blood of the bird that was killed. He must sprinkle the house seven times. | 51 He shall take the cedar wood, and the hyssop, and the scarlet, and the living bird, and dip them in the blood of the slain bird, and in the running water, and sprinkle the house seven times. | 51 and he shall take the cedar-wood and the hyssop and the scarlet, and the living bird, and dip them in the blood of the bird that was killed, and in the running water, and sprinkle the house seven times; | 52 "He shall thus cleanse the house with the blood of the bird and with the running water, along with the live bird and with the cedar wood and with the hyssop and with the scarlet string. | 52 And he shall cleanse the house with the blood of the bird, and with the running water, and with the living bird, and with the cedar wood, and with the hyssop, and with the scarlet: | 52 So he must use the bird's blood, the fresh water, the living bird, the cedar wood, the hyssop, and the red yarn to make the house clean. | 52 He shall cleanse the house with the blood of the bird, and with the running water, with the living bird, with the cedar wood, with the hyssop, and with the scarlet; | 52 and he shall purge the house from the defilement with the blood of the bird, and with the running water, and with the living bird, and with the cedar-wood, and with the hyssop, and with the scarlet; | 53 "However, he shall let the live bird go free outside the city into the open field. So he shall make atonement for the house, and it will be clean." | 53 But he shall let go the living bird out of the city into the open fields, and make an atonement for the house: and it shall be clean. | 53 Then he will let the living bird fly from the city into the open country. He will make peace with the LORD for the house, and it will be clean. | 53 but he shall let the living bird go out of the city into the open field. So shall he make atonement for the house; and it shall be clean." | 53 and he shall let the living bird loose out of the city into the open field; and he shall make atonement for the house, and it is clean. | 54 This is the law for any mark of leprosy-- even for a scale, | 54 This is the law for all manner of plague of leprosy, and scall, | 54 "These are the instructions for any kind of mildew or fungus | 54 This is the law for any plague of leprosy, and for an itch, | 54 This is the law for every sore of leprosy, and for the scall, | 55 and for the leprous garment or house, | 55 And for the leprosy of a garment, and of a house, | 55 that infects clothing or houses | 55 and for the destructive mildew of a garment, and for a house, | 55 and for the leprosy of garments, and of houses, | NASB | KJV | GWT | WEB | DBY |
56 and for a swelling, and for a scab, and for a bright spot-- | 56 And for a rising, and for a scab, and for a bright spot: | 56 and for skin diseases where there is a sore, a rash, or an irritated area. | 56 and for a rising, and for a scab, and for a bright spot; | 56 and for the rising, and for the scab, and for the bright spot, | 57 to teach when they are unclean and when they are clean. This is the law of leprosy. | 57 To teach when it is unclean, and when it is clean: this is the law of leprosy. | 57 These instructions for skin diseases and mildew help you distinguish between what is clean and what is unclean." | 57 to teach when it is unclean, and when it is clean. This is the law of leprosy. | 57 to teach when there is uncleanness, and when it is purified: this is the law of leprosy. |
