Prayer for Rescue from Enemies.A Psalm of David.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 A Psalm of David. Contend, O LORD, with those who contend with me; Fight against those who fight against me.1 Plead my cause, O LORD, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me.1 [By David.] O LORD, attack those who attack me. Fight against those who fight against me.1 Contend, Yahweh, with those who contend with me. Fight against those who fight against me.1 {A Psalm of David.} Strive, O Jehovah, with them that strive with me; fight against them that fight against me:
 Take hold of buckler and shield And rise up for my help.2 Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for mine help.2 Use your shields, [both] small and large. Arise to help me.2 Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for my help.2 Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for my help;
 Draw also the spear and the battle-axe to meet those who pursue me; Say to my soul, "I am your salvation."3 Draw out also the spear, and stop the way against them that persecute me: say unto my soul, I am thy salvation.3 Hold your spear to block the way of those who pursue me. Say to my soul, "I am your savior."3 Brandish the spear and block those who pursue me. Tell my soul, "I am your salvation."3 And draw out the spear, and stop the way against my pursuers: say unto my soul, I am thy salvation.
 Let those be ashamed and dishonored who seek my life; Let those be turned back and humiliated who devise evil against me.4 Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt.4 Let those who seek my life be put to shame and disgraced. Let those who plan my downfall be turned back in confusion.4 Let those who seek after my soul be disappointed and brought to dishonor. Let those who plot my ruin be turned back and confounded.4 Let them be put to shame and confounded that seek after my life; let them be turned backward and brought to confusion that devise my hurt:
 Let them be like chaff before the wind, With the angel of the LORD driving them on.5 Let them be as chaff before the wind: and let the angel of the LORD chase them.5 Let them be like husks blown by the wind as the Messenger of the LORD chases them.5 Let them be as chaff before the wind, Yahweh's angel driving them on.5 Let them be as chaff before the wind, and let the angel of Jehovah drive them away;
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 Let their way be dark and slippery, With the angel of the LORD pursuing them.6 Let their way be dark and slippery: and let the angel of the LORD persecute them.6 Let their path be dark and slippery as the Messenger of the LORD pursues them.6 Let their way be dark and slippery, Yahweh's angel pursuing them.6 Let their way be dark and slippery, and let the angel of Jehovah pursue them.
 For without cause they hid their net for me; Without cause they dug a pit for my soul.7 For without cause have they hid for me their net in a pit, which without cause they have digged for my soul.7 For no reason they hid their net in a pit. For no reason they dug the pit [to trap me].7 For without cause they have hidden their net in a pit for me. Without cause they have dug a pit for my soul.7 For without cause have they hidden for me their net in a pit; without cause they have digged it for my soul.
 Let destruction come upon him unawares, And let the net which he hid catch himself; Into that very destruction let him fall.8 Let destruction come upon him at unawares; and let his net that he hath hid catch himself: into that very destruction let him fall.8 Let destruction surprise them. Let the net that they hid catch them. Let them fall into their own pit and be destroyed.8 Let destruction come on him unawares. Let his net that he has hidden catch himself. Let him fall into that destruction.8 Let destruction come upon him unawares, and let his net which he hath hidden catch himself: for destruction let him fall therein.
 And my soul shall rejoice in the LORD; It shall exult in His salvation.9 And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD: it shall rejoice in his salvation.9 My soul will find joy in the LORD and be joyful about his salvation.9 My soul shall be joyful in Yahweh. It shall rejoice in his salvation.9 And my soul shall be joyful in Jehovah; it shall rejoice in his salvation.
 All my bones will say, "LORD, who is like You, Who delivers the afflicted from him who is too strong for him, And the afflicted and the needy from him who robs him?"10 All my bones shall say, LORD, who is like unto thee, which deliverest the poor from him that is too strong for him, yea, the poor and the needy from him that spoileth him?10 All my bones will say, "O LORD, who can compare with you? You rescue the weak person from the one who is too strong for him and weak and needy people from the one who robs them."10 All my bones shall say, "Yahweh, who is like you, who delivers the poor from him who is too strong for him; yes, the poor and the needy from him who robs him?"10 All my bones shall say, Jehovah, who is like unto thee, who deliverest the afflicted from one stronger than he, yea, the afflicted and the needy from him that spoileth him!
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 Malicious witnesses rise up; They ask me of things that I do not know.11 False witnesses did rise up; they laid to my charge things that I knew not.11 Malicious people bring charges against me. They ask me things I know nothing about.11 Unrighteous witnesses rise up. They ask me about things that I don't know about.11 Unrighteous witnesses rise up; they lay to my charge things which I know not.
 They repay me evil for good, To the bereavement of my soul.12 They rewarded me evil for good to the spoiling of my soul.12 I am devastated because they pay me back with evil instead of good.12 They reward me evil for good, to the bereaving of my soul.12 They reward me evil for good, to the bereavement of my soul.
 But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth; I humbled my soul with fasting, And my prayer kept returning to my bosom.13 But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth: I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer returned into mine own bosom.13 But when they were sick, I wore sackcloth. I humbled myself with fasting. When my prayer returned unanswered,13 But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth. I afflicted my soul with fasting. My prayer returned into my own bosom.13 But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth; I chastened my soul with fasting, and my prayer returned into mine own bosom:
 I went about as though it were my friend or brother; I bowed down mourning, as one who sorrows for a mother.14 I behaved myself as though he had been my friend or brother: I bowed down heavily, as one that mourneth for his mother.14 I walked around as if I were mourning for my friend or my brother. I was bent over as if I were mourning for my mother.14 I behaved myself as though it had been my friend or my brother. I bowed down mourning, as one who mourns his mother.14 I behaved myself as though he had been a friend, a brother to me; I bowed down in sadness, as one that mourneth for a mother.
 But at my stumbling they rejoiced and gathered themselves together; The smiters whom I did not know gathered together against me, They slandered me without ceasing.15 But in mine adversity they rejoiced, and gathered themselves together: yea, the abjects gathered themselves together against me, and I knew it not; they did tear me, and ceased not:15 Yet, when I stumbled, they rejoiced and gathered together. They gathered together against me. Unknown attackers tore me apart without stopping.15 But in my adversity, they rejoiced, and gathered themselves together. The attackers gathered themselves together against me, and I didn't know it. They tore at me, and didn't cease.15 But at my halting they rejoiced, and gathered together: the slanderers gathered themselves together against me, and I knew it not; they did tear me, and ceased not:

 Like godless jesters at a feast, They gnashed at me with their teeth.16 With hypocritical mockers in feasts, they gnashed upon me with their teeth.16 With crude and abusive mockers, they grit their teeth at me.16 Like the profane mockers in feasts, they gnashed their teeth at me.16 With profane jesters for bread, they have gnashed their teeth against me.
 Lord, how long will You look on? Rescue my soul from their ravages, My only life from the lions.17 Lord, how long wilt thou look on? rescue my soul from their destructions, my darling from the lions.17 O Lord, how long will you look on? Rescue me from their attacks. Rescue my precious life from the lions.17 Lord, how long will you look on? Rescue my soul from their destruction, my precious life from the lions.17 Lord, how long wilt thou look on? Rescue my soul from their destructions, my only one from the young lions.
 I will give You thanks in the great congregation; I will praise You among a mighty throng.18 I will give thee thanks in the great congregation: I will praise thee among much people.18 I will give you thanks in a large gathering. I will praise you in a crowd [of worshipers].18 I will give you thanks in the great assembly. I will praise you among many people.18 I will give thee thanks in the great congregation; I will praise thee among much people.
 Do not let those who are wrongfully my enemies rejoice over me; Nor let those who hate me without cause wink maliciously.19 Let not them that are mine enemies wrongfully rejoice over me: neither let them wink with the eye that hate me without a cause.19 Do not let my treacherous enemies gloat over me. Do not let those who hate me for no reason wink [at me].19 Don't let those who are my enemies wrongfully rejoice over me; neither let those who hate me without a cause wink their eyes.19 Let not them that are wrongfully mine enemies rejoice over me; let them not wink with the eye that hate me without cause.
 For they do not speak peace, But they devise deceitful words against those who are quiet in the land.20 For they speak not peace: but they devise deceitful matters against them that are quiet in the land.20 They do not talk about peace. Instead, they scheme against the peaceful people in the land.20 For they don't speak peace, but they devise deceitful words against those who are quiet in the land.20 For they speak not peace; and they devise deceitful words against the quiet in the land.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 They opened their mouth wide against me; They said, "Aha, aha, our eyes have seen it!"21 Yea, they opened their mouth wide against me, and said, Aha, aha, our eye hath seen it.21 They open their big mouths and say about me, "Aha! Aha! Our own eyes have seen it."21 Yes, they opened their mouth wide against me. They said, "Aha! Aha! Our eye has seen it!"21 And they opened their mouth wide against me; they said, Aha! aha! our eye hath seen it.
 You have seen it, O LORD, do not keep silent; O Lord, do not be far from me.22 This thou hast seen, O LORD: keep not silence: O Lord, be not far from me.22 You have seen it, O LORD. Do not remain silent. O Lord, do not be so far away from me.22 You have seen it, Yahweh. Don't keep silent. Lord, don't be far from me.22 Thou hast seen it, Jehovah: keep not silence; O Lord, be not far from me.
 Stir up Yourself, and awake to my right And to my cause, my God and my Lord.23 Stir up thyself, and awake to my judgment, even unto my cause, my God and my Lord.23 Wake up, and rise to my defense. Plead my case, O my God and my Lord.23 Wake up! Rise up to defend me, my God! My Lord, contend for me!23 Stir up thyself, and awake for my right, for my cause, my God and Lord!
 Judge me, O LORD my God, according to Your righteousness, And do not let them rejoice over me.24 Judge me, O LORD my God, according to thy righteousness; and let them not rejoice over me.24 Judge me by your righteousness, O LORD my God. Do not let them gloat over me24 Vindicate me, Yahweh my God, according to your righteousness. Don't let them gloat over me.24 Judge me, Jehovah my God, according to thy righteousness, and let them not rejoice over me.
 Do not let them say in their heart, "Aha, our desire!" Do not let them say, "We have swallowed him up!"25 Let them not say in their hearts, Ah, so would we have it: let them not say, We have swallowed him up.25 or think, "Aha, just what we wanted!" Do not let them say, "We have swallowed him up."25 Don't let them say in their heart, "Aha! That's the way we want it!" Don't let them say, "We have swallowed him up!"25 Let them not say in their heart, Aha! so would we have it. Let them not say, We have swallowed him up.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 Let those be ashamed and humiliated altogether who rejoice at my distress; Let those be clothed with shame and dishonor who magnify themselves over me.26 Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion together that rejoice at mine hurt: let them be clothed with shame and dishonour that magnify themselves against me.26 Let those who gloat over my downfall be thoroughly put to shame and confused. Let those who promote themselves at my expense be clothed with shame and disgrace.26 Let them be disappointed and confounded together who rejoice at my calamity. Let them be clothed with shame and dishonor who magnify themselves against me.26 Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion together that rejoice at mine adversity; let them be clothed with shame and dishonour that magnify themselves against me.
 Let them shout for joy and rejoice, who favor my vindication; And let them say continually, "The LORD be magnified, Who delights in the prosperity of His servant."27 Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.27 Let those who are happy when I am declared innocent joyfully sing and rejoice. Let them continually say, "The LORD is great. He is happy when his servant has peace."27 Let them shout for joy and be glad, who favor my righteous cause. Yes, let them say continually, "Yahweh be magnified, who has pleasure in the prosperity of his servant!"27 Let them exult and rejoice that delight in my righteousness; and let them say continually, Jehovah be magnified, who delighteth in the prosperity of his servant.
 And my tongue shall declare Your righteousness And Your praise all day long.28 And my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness and of thy praise all the day long.28 Then my tongue will tell about your righteousness, about your praise all day long.28 My tongue shall talk about your righteousness and about your praise all day long. For the Chief Musician. By David, the servant of Yahweh.28 And my tongue shall talk of thy righteousness, and of thy praise, all the day.
