Believers Are Dead to Sin, Alive to God | ||||

| 1 What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase? | 1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? | 1 What should we say then? Should we continue to sin so that God's kindness will increase? | 1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? | 1 What then shall we say? | 16 Do you not know that when you present yourselves to someone as slaves for obedience, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin resulting in death, or of obedience resulting in righteousness? | 16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? | 16 Don't you know that if you offer to be someone's slave, you must obey that master? Either your master is sin, or your master is obedience. Letting sin be your master leads to death. Clearly, you once offered all the parts of your body as slaves to sexual perversion and disobedience. This led you to live disobedient lives. Now, in the same way, offer all the parts of your body as slaves that do what God approves of. This leads you to live holy lives. | 19 I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh, for as you presented your members as servants to uncleanness and to wickedness upon wickedness, even so now present your members as servants to righteousness for sanctification. | 19 I speak humanly on account of the weakness of your flesh. | 21 Therefore what benefit were you then deriving from the things of which you are now ashamed? For the outcome of those things is death. | 21 What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death. | 21 What did you gain by doing those things? You're ashamed of what you used to do because it ended in death. | 21 What fruit then did you have at that time in the things of which you are now ashamed?
