8 Zaccheus stopped and said to the Lord, "Behold, Lord, half of my possessions I will give to the poor, and if I have defrauded anyone of anything, I will give back four times as much."8 And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord: Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.8 [Later, at dinner,] Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, "Lord, I'll give half of my property to the poor. I'll pay four times as much as I owe to those I have cheated in any way."8 Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, "Behold, Lord, half of my goods I give to the poor. If I have wrongfully exacted anything of anyone, I restore four times as much."8 But Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor, and if I have taken anything from any man by false accusation, I return him fourfold.
9 And Jesus said to him, "Today salvation has come to this house, because he, too, is a son of Abraham.9 And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.9 Then Jesus said to Zacchaeus, "You and your family have been saved today. You've shown that you, too, are one of Abraham's descendants.9 Jesus said to him, "Today, salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham.9 And Jesus said to him, To-day salvation is come to this house, inasmuch as he also is a son of Abraham;

11 While they were listening to these things, Jesus went on to tell a parable, because He was near Jerusalem, and they supposed that the kingdom of God was going to appear immediately.11 And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear.11 Jesus was getting closer to Jerusalem, and the people thought that the kingdom of God would appear suddenly. While Jesus had the people's attention, he used this illustration.11 As they heard these things, he went on and told a parable, because he was near Jerusalem, and they supposed that the Kingdom of God would be revealed immediately.11 But as they were listening to these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was near to Jerusalem and they thought that the kingdom of God was about to be immediately manifested.
12 So He said, "A nobleman went to a distant country to receive a kingdom for himself, and then return.12 He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.12 He said, "A prince went to a distant country to be appointed king, and then he returned.12 He said therefore, "A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.12 He said therefore, A certain high-born man went to a distant country to receive for himself a kingdom and return.
13 "And he called ten of his slaves, and gave them ten minas and said to them, 'Do business with this until I come back.'13 And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.13 [Before he left,] he called ten of his servants and gave them ten coins. He said to his servants, 'Invest this money until I come back.'13 He called ten servants of his, and gave them ten mina coins, and told them, 'Conduct business until I come.'13 And having called his own ten bondmen, he gave to them ten minas, and said to them, Trade while I am coming.
14 "But his citizens hated him and sent a delegation after him, saying, 'We do not want this man to reign over us.'14 But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.14 "The citizens of his own country hated him. They sent representatives to follow him and say [to the person who was going to appoint him], 'We don't want this man to be our king.'14 But his citizens hated him, and sent an envoy after him, saying, 'We don't want this man to reign over us.'14 But his citizens hated him, and sent an embassy after him, saying, We will not that this man should reign over us.
15 "When he returned, after receiving the kingdom, he ordered that these slaves, to whom he had given the money, be called to him so that he might know what business they had done.15 And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.15 "After he was appointed king, he came back. Then he said, 'Call those servants to whom I gave money. I want to know how much each one has made by investing.'15 "It happened when he had come back again, having received the kingdom, that he commanded these servants, to whom he had given the money, to be called to him, that he might know what they had gained by conducting business.15 And it came to pass on his arrival back again, having received the kingdom, that he desired these bondmen to whom he gave the money to be called to him, in order that he might know what every one had gained by trading.

You're a good servant. You proved that you could be trusted with a little money. Take charge of ten cities.'17 "He said to him, 'Well done, you good servant! Because you were found faithful with very little, you shall have authority over ten cities.'17 And he said to him, Well done, thou good bondman; because thou hast been faithful in that which is least, be thou in authority over ten cities.

21 for I was afraid of you, because you are an exacting man; you take up what you did not lay down and reap what you did not sow.'21 For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow.21 I was afraid of you. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow:22 "The king said to him, 'I'll judge you by what you've said, you evil servant! You knew that I was a tough person to get along with. You knew that I take what isn't mine and harvest grain I haven't planted.22 "He said to him, 'Out of your own mouth will I judge you, you wicked servant! 23 'Then why did you not put my money in the bank, and having come, I would have collected it with interest?'23 Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with usury?23 Then why didn't you put my money in the bank? When I came back, I could have collected it with interest.'23 Then why didn't you deposit my money in the bank, and at my coming, I might have earned interest on it?'23 And why didst thou not give my money to the bank; and I should have received it, at my coming, with interest?
24 "Then he said to the bystanders, 'Take the mina away from him and give it to the one who has the ten minas.'24 And he said unto them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give it to him that hath ten pounds.24 The king told his men, 'Take his coin away, and give it to the man who has ten.'24 He said to those who stood by, 'Take the mina away from him, and give it to him who has the ten minas.'24 And he said to those that stood by, Take from him the mina and give it to him who has the ten minas.

26 "I tell you that to everyone who has, more shall be given, but from the one who does not have, even what he does have shall be taken away.26 For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him.26 " 'I can guarantee that everyone who has something will be given more. But everything will be taken away from those who don't have much.26 'For I tell you that to everyone who has, will more be given; but from him who doesn't have, even that which he has will be taken away from him.26 For I say unto you, that to every one that has shall be given; but from him that has not, that even which he has shall be taken from him.
27 "But these enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and slay them in my presence."27 But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.27 Bring my enemies, who didn't want me to be their king. 44 and they will level you to the ground and your children within you, and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not recognize the time of your visitation."44 And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.44 They will level you to the ground and kill your people. One stone will not be left on top of another, because you didn't recognize the time when God came to help you."44 and will dash you and your children within you to the ground. 46 saying to them, "It is written, 'AND MY HOUSE SHALL BE A HOUSE OF PRAYER,' but you have made it a ROBBERS' DEN."46 Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves.46 He said to them, "Scripture says, 'My house will be a house of prayer,' but you have turned it into a gathering place for thieves."46 saying to them, "It is written, 'My house is a house of prayer,' but you have made it a 'den of robbers'!"46 saying to them, It is written, My house is a house of prayer, but ye have made it a den of robbers.
47 And He was teaching daily in the temple; but the chief priests and the scribes and the leading men among the people were trying to destroy Him,47 And he taught daily in the temple.
