The Resurrection
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared.1 Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.1 Very early on Sunday morning the women went to the tomb. They were carrying the spices that they had prepared.1 But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they and some others came to the tomb, bringing the spices which they had prepared.1 But on the morrow of the sabbath, very early indeed in the morning, they came to the tomb, bringing the aromatic spices which they had prepared.
 And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb,2 And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.2 They found that the stone had been rolled away from the tomb.2 They found the stone rolled away from the tomb.2 And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.
 but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.3 And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.3 When they went in, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.3 They entered in, and didn't find the Lord Jesus' body.3 And when they had entered they found not the body of the Lord Jesus.
 While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men suddenly stood near them in dazzling clothing;4 And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:4 While they were puzzled about this, two men in clothes that were as bright as lightning suddenly stood beside them.4 It happened, while they were greatly perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling clothing.4 And it came to pass as they were in perplexity about it, that behold, two men suddenly stood by them in shining raiment.
 and as the women were terrified and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, "Why do you seek the living One among the dead?5 And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?5 The women were terrified and bowed to the ground. The men asked the women, "Why are you looking among the dead for the living one?5 Becoming terrified, they bowed their faces down to the earth. They said to them, "Why do you seek the living among the dead?5 And as they were filled with fear and bowed their faces to the ground, they said to them, Why seek ye the living one among the dead?

 "He is not here, but He has risen. Remember how He spoke to you while He was still in Galilee,6 He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,6 He's not here. He has been brought back to life! Remember what he told you while he was still in Galilee.6 He isn't here, but is risen. Remember what he told you when he was still in Galilee,6 He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spoke to you, being yet in Galilee,
 saying that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again."7 Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.7 He said, 'The Son of Man must be handed over to sinful people, be crucified, and come back to life on the third day.'"7 saying that the Son of Man must be delivered up into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again?"7 saying, The Son of man must be delivered up into the hands of sinners, and be crucified, and rise the third day.
 And they remembered His words,8 And they remembered his words,8 Then the women remembered what Jesus had told them.8 They remembered his words,8 And they remembered his words;
 and returned from the tomb and reported all these things to the eleven and to all the rest.9 And returned from the sepulchre, and told all these things unto the eleven, and to all the rest.9 The women left the tomb and went back to the city. They told everything to the eleven apostles and all the others.9 returned from the tomb, and told all these things to the eleven, and to all the rest.9 and, returning from the sepulchre, related all these things to the eleven and to all the rest.
 Now they were Mary Magdalene and Joanna and Mary the mother of James; also the other women with them were telling these things to the apostles.10 It was Mary Magdalene and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and other women that were with them, which told these things unto the apostles.10 The women were Mary from Magdala, Joanna, and Mary (the mother of James). There were also other women with them. They told the apostles everything.10 Now they were Mary Magdalene, Joanna, and Mary the mother of James. The other women with them told these things to the apostles.10 Now it was Mary of Magdala, and Johanna, and Mary the mother of James, and the others with them, who told these things to the apostles.

 But these words appeared to them as nonsense, and they would not believe them.11 And their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not.11 The apostles thought that the women's story didn't make any sense, and they didn't believe them.11 These words seemed to them to be nonsense, and they didn't believe them.11 And their words appeared in their eyes as an idle tale, and they disbelieved them.
 But Peter got up and ran to the tomb; stooping and looking in, he saw the linen wrappings only; and he went away to his home, marveling at what had happened.12 Then arose Peter, and ran unto the sepulchre; and stooping down, he beheld the linen clothes laid by themselves, and departed, wondering in himself at that which was come to pass.12 But Peter got up and ran to the tomb. He bent down to look inside and saw only the strips of linen. Then he went away, wondering what had happened.12 But Peter got up and ran to the tomb. Stooping and looking in, he saw the strips of linen lying by themselves, and he departed to his home, wondering what had happened.12 But Peter, rising up, ran to the sepulchre, and stooping down he sees the linen clothes lying there alone, and went away home, wondering at what had happened.
The Road to Emmaus
 And behold, two of them were going that very day to a village named Emmaus, which was about seven miles from Jerusalem.13 And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs.13 On the same day, two of Jesus' disciples were going to a village called Emmaus. It was about seven miles from Jerusalem.13 Behold, two of them were going that very day to a village named Emmaus, which was sixty stadia from Jerusalem.13 And behold, two of them were going on the same day to a village distant sixty stadia from Jerusalem, called Emmaus;
 And they were talking with each other about all these things which had taken place.14 And they talked together of all these things which had happened.14 They were talking to each other about everything that had happened.14 They talked with each other about all of these things which had happened.14 and they conversed with one another about all these things which had taken place.
 While they were talking and discussing, Jesus Himself approached and began traveling with them.15 And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.15 While they were talking, Jesus approached them and began walking with them.15 It happened, while they talked and questioned together, that Jesus himself came near, and went with them.15 And it came to pass as they conversed and reasoned, that Jesus himself drawing nigh, went with them;

 But their eyes were prevented from recognizing Him.16 But their eyes were holden that they should not know him.16 Although they saw him, they didn't recognize him.16 But their eyes were kept from recognizing him.16 but their eyes were holden so as not to know him.
 And He said to them, "What are these words that you are exchanging with one another as you are walking?" And they stood still, looking sad.17 And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad?17 He asked them, "What are you discussing?" They stopped and looked very sad.17 He said to them, "What are you talking about as you walk, and are sad?"17 And he said to them, What discourses are these which pass between you as ye walk, and are downcast?
 One of them, named Cleopas, answered and said to Him, "Are You the only one visiting Jerusalem and unaware of the things which have happened here in these days?"18 And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days?18 One of them, Cleopas, replied, "Are you the only one in Jerusalem who doesn't know what has happened recently?"18 One of them, named Cleopas, answered him, "Are you the only stranger in Jerusalem who doesn't know the things which have happened there in these days?"18 And one of them, named Cleopas, answering said to him, Thou sojournest alone in Jerusalem, and dost not know what has taken place in it in these days?
 And He said to them, "What things?" And they said to Him, "The things about Jesus the Nazarene, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word in the sight of God and all the people,19 And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people:19 "What happened?" he asked. They said to him, "We were discussing what happened to Jesus from Nazareth. He was a powerful prophet in what he did and said in the sight of God and all the people.19 He said to them, "What things?" They said to him, "The things concerning Jesus, the Nazarene, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people;19 And he said to them, What things? And they said to him, The things concerning Jesus the Nazaraean, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people;
 and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered Him to the sentence of death, and crucified Him.20 And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him.20 Our chief priests and rulers had him condemned to death and crucified.20 and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him up to be condemned to death, and crucified him.20 and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him up to the judgment of death and crucified him.

 "But we were hoping that it was He who was going to redeem Israel. Indeed, besides all this, it is the third day since these things happened.21 But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done.21 We were hoping that he was the one who would free Israel. What's more, this is now the third day since everything happened.21 But we were hoping that it was he who would redeem Israel. Yes, and besides all this, it is now the third day since these things happened.21 But we had hoped that he was the one who is about to redeem Israel. But then, besides all these things, it is now, to-day, the third day since these things took place.
 "But also some women among us amazed us. When they were at the tomb early in the morning,22 Yea, and certain women also of our company made us astonished, which were early at the sepulchre;22 Some of the women from our group startled us. They went to the tomb early this morning22 Also, certain women of our company amazed us, having arrived early at the tomb;22 And withal, certain women from amongst us astonished us, having been very early at the sepulchre,
 and did not find His body, they came, saying that they had also seen a vision of angels who said that He was alive.23 And when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, which said that he was alive.23 and didn't find his body. They told us that they had seen angels who said that he's alive.23 and when they didn't find his body, they came saying that they had also seen a vision of angels, who said that he was alive.23 and, not having found his body, came, saying that they also had seen a vision of angels, who say that he is living.
 "Some of those who were with us went to the tomb and found it just exactly as the women also had said; but Him they did not see."24 And certain of them which were with us went to the sepulchre, and found it even so as the women had said: but him they saw not.24 Some of our men went to the tomb and found it empty, as the women had said, but they didn't see him."24 Some of us went to the tomb, and found it just like the women had said, but they didn't see him."24 And some of those with us went to the sepulchre, and found it so, as the women also had said, but him they saw not.
 And He said to them, "O foolish men and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!25 Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:25 Then Jesus said to them, "How foolish you are! You're so slow to believe everything the prophets said!25 He said to them, "Foolish men, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!25 And he said to them, O senseless and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!

 "Was it not necessary for the Christ to suffer these things and to enter into His glory?"26 Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?26 Didn't the Messiah have to suffer these things and enter into his glory?"26 Didn't the Christ have to suffer these things and to enter into his glory?"26 Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into his glory?
 Then beginning with Moses and with all the prophets, He explained to them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures.27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.27 Then he began with Moses' Teachings and the Prophets to explain to them what was said about him throughout the Scriptures.27 Beginning from Moses and from all the prophets, he explained to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.27 And having begun from Moses and from all the prophets, he interpreted to them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
 And they approached the village where they were going, and He acted as though He were going farther.28 And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further.28 When they came near the village where they were going, Jesus acted as if he were going farther.28 They drew near to the village, where they were going, and he acted like he would go further.28 And they drew near to the village where they were going, and he made as though he would go farther.
 But they urged Him, saying, "Stay with us, for it is getting toward evening, and the day is now nearly over." So He went in to stay with them.29 But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them.29 They urged him, "Stay with us! It's getting late, and the day is almost over." So he went to stay with them.29 They urged him, saying, "Stay with us, for it is almost evening, and the day is almost over." He went in to stay with them.29 And they constrained him, saying, Stay with us, for it is toward evening and the day is declining. And he entered in to stay with them.
 When He had reclined at the table with them, He took the bread and blessed it, and breaking it, He began giving it to them.30 And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them.30 While he was at the table with them, he took bread and blessed it. He broke the bread and gave it to them.30 It happened, that when he had sat down at the table with them, he took the bread and gave thanks. Breaking it, he gave to them.30 And it came to pass as he was at table with them, having taken the bread, he blessed, and having broken it, gave it to them.

 Then their eyes were opened and they recognized Him; and He vanished from their sight.31 And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.31 Then their eyes were opened, and they recognized him. But he vanished from their sight.31 Their eyes were opened, and they recognized him, and he vanished out of their sight.31 And their eyes were opened, and they recognised him. And he disappeared from them.
 They said to one another, "Were not our hearts burning within us while He was speaking to us on the road, while He was explaining the Scriptures to us?"32 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?32 They said to each other, "Weren't we excited when he talked with us on the road and opened up the meaning of the Scriptures for us?"32 They said one to another, "Weren't our hearts burning within us, while he spoke to us along the way, and while he opened the Scriptures to us?"32 And they said to one another, Was not our heart burning in us as he spoke to us on the way, and as he opened the scriptures to us?
 And they got up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem, and found gathered together the eleven and those who were with them,33 And they rose up the same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them,33 That same hour they went back to Jerusalem. They found the eleven apostles and those who were with them gathered together.33 They rose up that very hour, returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and those who were with them,33 And rising up the same hour, they returned to Jerusalem. And they found the eleven, and those with them, gathered together,
 saying, "The Lord has really risen and has appeared to Simon."34 Saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon.34 They were saying, "The Lord has really come back to life and has appeared to Simon."34 saying, "The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!"34 saying, The Lord is indeed risen and has appeared to Simon.
 They began to relate their experiences on the road and how He was recognized by them in the breaking of the bread.35 And they told what things were done in the way, and how he was known of them in breaking of bread.35 Then the two disciples told what had happened on the road and how they had recognized Jesus when he broke the bread.35 They related the things that happened along the way, and how he was recognized by them in the breaking of the bread.35 And they related what had happened on the way, and how he was made known to them in the breaking of bread.

 While they were telling these things, He Himself stood in their midst and said to them, "Peace be to you."36 And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.36 While they were talking about what had happened, Jesus stood among them. He said to them, "Peace be with you!"36 As they said these things, Jesus himself stood among them, and said to them, "Peace be to you."36 And as they were saying these things, he himself stood in their midst, and says to them, Peace be unto you.
 But they were startled and frightened and thought that they were seeing a spirit.37 But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.37 They were terrified, and thought they were seeing a ghost.37 But they were terrified and filled with fear, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.37 But they, being confounded and being frightened, supposed they beheld a spirit.
 And He said to them, "Why are you troubled, and why do doubts arise in your hearts?38 And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?38 He asked them, "Why are you afraid? Why do you have doubts?38 He said to them, "Why are you troubled? Why do doubts arise in your hearts?38 And he said to them, Why are ye troubled? and why are thoughts rising in your hearts?
 "See My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself; touch Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have."39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.39 Look at my hands and feet, and see that it's really me. Touch me, and see for yourselves. Ghosts don't have flesh and bones, but you can see that I do."39 See my hands and my feet, that it is truly me. Touch me and see, for a spirit doesn't have flesh and bones, as you see that I have."39 behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Handle me and see, for a spirit has not flesh and bones as ye see me having.
 And when He had said this, He showed them His hands and His feet.40 And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet.40 As he said this, he showed them his hands and feet.40 When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet.40 And having said this he shewed them his hands and his feet.

 While they still could not believe it because of their joy and amazement, He said to them, "Have you anything here to eat?"41 And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat?41 The disciples were overcome with joy and amazement because this seemed too good to be true. Then Jesus asked them, "Do you have anything to eat?"41 While they still didn't believe for joy, and wondered, he said to them, "Do you have anything here to eat?"41 But while they yet did not believe for joy, and were wondering, he said to them, Have ye anything here to eat?
 They gave Him a piece of a broiled fish;42 And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.42 They gave him a piece of broiled fish.42 They gave him a piece of a broiled fish and some honeycomb.42 And they gave him part of a broiled fish and of a honeycomb;
 and He took it and ate it before them.43 And he took it, and did eat before them.43 He took it and ate it while they watched him.43 He took them, and ate in front of them.43 and he took it and ate before them.
 Now He said to them, "These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things which are written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled."44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.44 Then he said to them, "These are the words I spoke to you while I was still with you. I told you that everything written about me in Moses' Teachings, the Prophets, and the Psalms had to come true."44 He said to them, "This is what I told you, while I was still with you, that all things which are written in the law of Moses, the prophets, and the psalms, concerning me must be fulfilled."44 And he said to them, These are the words which I spoke to you while I was yet with you, that all that is written concerning me in the law of Moses and prophets and psalms must be fulfilled.
