Jesus Is Lord of the Sabbath

1 Now it happened that He was passing through some grainfields on a Sabbath; and His disciples were picking the heads of grain, rubbing them in their hands, and eating the grain.1 And it came to pass on the second sabbath after the first, that he went through the corn fields; and his disciples plucked the ears of corn, and did eat, rubbing them in their hands.1 Once, on a day of worship, Jesus was walking through some grainfields. 3 And Jesus answering them said, "Have you not even read what David did when he was hungry, he and those who were with him,3 And Jesus answering them said, Have ye not read so much as this, what David did, when himself was an hungred, and they which were with him;3 Jesus answered them, "Haven't you read what David did when he and his men were hungry?3 Jesus, answering them, said, "Haven't you read what David did when he was hungry, he, and those who were with him;3 And Jesus answering said to them, Have ye not read so much as this, what David did when he hungered, he and those who were with him,

To save a life, or to kill?"9 Jesus therefore said to them, I will ask you if it is lawful on the sabbath to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or to destroy it?
10 After looking around at them all, He said to him, "Stretch out your hand!" And he did so; and his hand was restored.10 And looking round about upon them all, he said unto the man, Stretch forth thy hand. And he did so: and his hand was restored whole as the other.10 He looked around at all of them and then said to the man, "Hold out your hand." The man did so, and his hand became normal again.10 He looked around at them all, and said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." 41 "Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?41 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye?41 "Why do you see the piece of sawdust in another believer's eye and not notice the wooden beam in your own eye?41 Why do you see the speck of chaff that is in your brother's eye, but don't consider the beam that is in your own eye?41 But why lookest thou on the mote which is in the eye of thy brother, but perceivest not the beam which is in thine own eye?
42 "Or how can you say to your brother, 'Brother, let me take out the speck that is in your eye,' when you yourself do not see the log that is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take out the speck that is in your brother's eye.42 Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother's eye.42 How can you say to another believer, 'Friend, let me take the piece of sawdust out of your eye,' when you don't see the beam in your own eye? You hypocrite! First remove the beam from your own eye. Then you will see clearly to remove the piece of sawdust from another believer's eye.42 Or how can you tell your brother, 'Brother, let me remove the speck of chaff that is in your eye,' when you yourself don't see the beam that is in your own eye? You hypocrite! But the house couldn't be washed away because it had a good foundation.48 He is like a man building a house, who dug and went deep, and laid a foundation on the rock. 49 "But the one who has heard and has not acted accordingly, is like a man who built a house on the ground without any foundation; and the torrent burst against it and immediately it collapsed, and the ruin of that house was great."49 But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.49 The person who hears [what I say] but doesn't obey it is like someone who built a house on the ground without any foundation.
