Laborers in the Vineyard
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
1 "For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard.1 For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard.1 "The kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out at daybreak to hire workers for his vineyard.1 "For the Kingdom of Heaven is like a man who was the master of a household, who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard.1 For the kingdom of the heavens is like a householder who went out with the early morn to hire workmen for his vineyard.
2 "When he had agreed with the laborers for a denarius for the day, he sent them into his vineyard.2 And when he had agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard.2 After agreeing to pay the workers the usual day's wages, he sent them to work in his vineyard.2 When he had agreed with the laborers for a denarius a day, he sent them into his vineyard.2 And having agreed with the workmen for a denarius the day, he sent them into his vineyard.
3 "And he went out about the third hour and saw others standing idle in the market place;3 And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace,3 About 9 a.m. he saw others standing in the marketplace without work.3 He went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace.3 And having gone out about the third hour, he saw others standing in the market-place idle;
4 and to those he said, 'You also go into the vineyard, and whatever is right I will give you.' And so they went.4 And said unto them; Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way.4 He said to them, 'Work in my vineyard, and I'll give you whatever is right.' So they went.4 To them he said, 'You also go into the vineyard, and whatever is right I will give you.' So they went their way.4 and to them he said, Go also ye into the vineyard, and whatsoever may be just I will give you. And they went their way.
5 "Again he went out about the sixth and the ninth hour, and did the same thing.5 Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise.5 "He went out again about noon and 3 p.m. and did the same thing.5 Again he went out about the sixth and the ninth hour, and did likewise.5 Again, having gone out about the sixth and ninth hour, he did likewise.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
6 "And about the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing around; and he said to them, 'Why have you been standing here idle all day long?'6 And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle?6 About 5 p.m. he went out and found some others standing around. He said to them, 'Why are you standing here all day long without work?'6 About the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle. He said to them, 'Why do you stand here all day idle?'6 But about the eleventh hour, having gone out, he found others standing, and says to them, Why stand ye here all the day idle?
7 "They said to him, 'Because no one hired us.' He said to them, 'You go into the vineyard too.'7 They say unto him, Because no man hath hired us. He saith unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right, that shall ye receive.7 " 'No one has hired us,' they answered him. "He said to them, 'Work in my vineyard.'7 "They said to him, 'Because no one has hired us.' "He said to them, 'You also go into the vineyard, and you will receive whatever is right.'7 They say to him, Because no man has hired us. He says to them, Go also ye into the vineyard and whatsoever may be just ye shall receive.
8 "When evening came, the owner of the vineyard said to his foreman, 'Call the laborers and pay them their wages, beginning with the last group to the first.'8 So when even was come, the lord of the vineyard saith unto his steward, Call the labourers, and give them their hire, beginning from the last unto the first.8 "When evening came, the owner of the vineyard told the supervisor, 'Call the workers, and give them their wages. Start with the last, and end with the first.'8 When evening had come, the lord of the vineyard said to his manager, 'Call the laborers and pay them their wages, beginning from the last to the first.'8 But when the evening was come, the lord of the vineyard says to his steward, Call the workmen and pay them their wages, beginning from the last even to the first.
9 "When those hired about the eleventh hour came, each one received a denarius.9 And when they came that were hired about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny.9 "Those who started working about 5 p.m. came, and each received a day's wages.9 "When those who were hired at about the eleventh hour came, they each received a denarius.9 And when they who came to work about the eleventh hour came, they received each a denarius.
10 "When those hired first came, they thought that they would receive more; but each of them also received a denarius.10 But when the first came, they supposed that they should have received more; and they likewise received every man a penny.10 When those who had been hired first came, they expected to receive more. But each of them received a day's wages.10 When the first came, they supposed that they would receive more; and they likewise each received a denarius.10 And when the first came, they supposed that they would receive more, and they received also themselves each a denarius.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
11 "When they received it, they grumbled at the landowner,11 And when they had received it, they murmured against the goodman of the house,11 Although they took it, they began to protest to the owner.11 When they received it, they murmured against the master of the household,11 And on receiving it they murmured against the master of the house,
12 saying, 'These last men have worked only one hour, and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden and the scorching heat of the day.'12 Saying, These last have wrought but one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, which have borne the burden and heat of the day.12 They said, 'These last workers have worked only one hour. Yet, you've treated us all the same, even though we worked hard all day under a blazing sun.'12 saying, 'These last have spent one hour, and you have made them equal to us, who have borne the burden of the day and the scorching heat!'12 saying, These last have worked one hour, and thou hast made them equal to us, who have borne the burden of the day and the heat.
13 "But he answered and said to one of them, 'Friend, I am doing you no wrong; did you not agree with me for a denarius?13 But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a penny?13 "The owner said to one of them, 'Friend, I'm not treating you unfairly. Didn't you agree with me on a day's wages?13 "But he answered one of them, 'Friend, I am doing you no wrong. Didn't you agree with me for a denarius?13 But he answering said to one of them, My friend, I do not wrong thee. Didst thou not agree with me for a denarius?
14 'Take what is yours and go, but I wish to give to this last man the same as to you.14 Take that thine is, and go thy way: I will give unto this last, even as unto thee.14 Take your money and go! I want to give this last worker as much as I gave you.14 Take that which is yours, and go your way. It is my desire to give to this last just as much as to you.14 Take what is thine and go. But it is my will to give to this last even as to thee:
15 'Is it not lawful for me to do what I wish with what is my own? Or is your eye envious because I am generous?'15 Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good?15 Can't I do what I want with my own money? Or do you resent my generosity towards others?'15 Isn't it lawful for me to do what I want to with what I own? Or is your eye evil, because I am good?'15 is it not lawful for me to do what I will in my own affairs? Is thine eye evil because I am good?
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
16 "So the last shall be first, and the first last."16 So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.16 "In this way the last will be first, and the first will be last."16 So the last will be first, and the first last. For many are called, but few are chosen."16 Thus shall the last be first, and the first last; for many are called ones, but few chosen ones.
Death, Resurrection Foretold
17 As Jesus was about to go up to Jerusalem, He took the twelve disciples aside by themselves, and on the way He said to them,17 And Jesus going up to Jerusalem took the twelve disciples apart in the way, and said unto them,17 When Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem, he took the twelve apostles aside and said to them privately,17 As Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, he took the twelve disciples aside, and on the way he said to them,17 And Jesus, going up to Jerusalem, took the twelve disciples with him apart in the way, and said to them,
18 "Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem; and the Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn Him to death,18 Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death,18 "We're going to Jerusalem. There the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and scribes. They will condemn him to death18 "Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn him to death,18 Behold we go up to Jerusalem, and the Son of man will be delivered up to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn him to death;
19 and will hand Him over to the Gentiles to mock and scourge and crucify Him, and on the third day He will be raised up."19 And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him: and the third day he shall rise again.19 and hand him over to foreigners. They will make fun of him, whip him, and crucify him. But on the third day he will be brought back to life."19 and will hand him over to the Gentiles to mock, to scourge, and to crucify; and the third day he will be raised up."19 and they will deliver him up to the nations to mock and to scourge and to crucify, and the third day he shall rise again.

20 Then the mother of the sons of Zebedee came to Jesus with her sons, bowing down and making a request of Him.20 Then came to him the mother of Zebedees children with her sons, worshipping him, and desiring a certain thing of him.20 Then the mother of Zebedee's sons came to Jesus with her two sons. She bowed down in front of him to ask him for a favor.20 Then the mother of the sons of Zebedee came to him with her sons, kneeling and asking a certain thing of him.20 Then came to him the mother of the sons of Zebedee, with her sons, doing homage, and asking something of him.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
21 And He said to her, "What do you wish?" She said to Him, "Command that in Your kingdom these two sons of mine may sit one on Your right and one on Your left."21 And he said unto her, What wilt thou? She saith unto him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on the left, in thy kingdom.21 "What do you want?" he asked her. She said to him, "Promise that one of my sons will sit at your right and the other at your left in your kingdom."21 He said to her, "What do you want?" She said to him, "Command that these, my two sons, may sit, one on your right hand, and one on your left hand, in your Kingdom."21 And he said to her, What wilt thou? She says to him, Speak the word that these my two sons may sit, one on thy right hand and one on thy left in thy kingdom.
22 But Jesus answered, "You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink?" They said to Him, "We are able."22 But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able.22 Jesus replied, "You don't realize what you're asking. Can you drink the cup that I'm going to drink?" "We can," they told him.22 But Jesus answered, "You don't know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?" They said to him, "We are able."22 And Jesus answering said, Ye know not what ye ask. Can ye drink the cup which I am about to drink? They say to him, We are able.
23 He said to them, "My cup you shall drink; but to sit on My right and on My left, this is not Mine to give, but it is for those for whom it has been prepared by My Father."23 And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father.23 Jesus said to them, "You will drink my cup. But I don't have the authority to grant you a seat at my right or left. My Father has already prepared these positions for certain people."23 He said to them, "You will indeed drink my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with, but to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give; but it is for whom it has been prepared by my Father."23 And he says to them, Ye shall drink indeed my cup, but to sit on my right hand and on my left, is not mine to give, but to those for whom it is prepared of my Father.
24 And hearing this, the ten became indignant with the two brothers.24 And when the ten heard it, they were moved with indignation against the two brethren.24 When the other ten apostles heard about this, they were irritated with the two brothers.24 When the ten heard it, they were indignant with the two brothers.24 And the ten, having heard of it, were indignant about the two brothers.
25 But Jesus called them to Himself and said, "You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great men exercise authority over them.25 But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them.25 Jesus called the apostles and said, "You know that the rulers of nations have absolute power over people and their officials have absolute authority over people.25 But Jesus summoned them, and said, "You know that the rulers of the nations lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them.25 But Jesus having called them to him, said, Ye know that the rulers of the nations exercise lordship over them, and the great exercise authority over them.

26 "It is not this way among you, but whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant,26 But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;26 But that's not the way it's going to be among you. Whoever wants to become great among you will be your servant.26 It shall not be so among you, but whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant.26 It shall not be thus amongst you, but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your servant;
27 and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be your slave;27 And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:27 Whoever wants to be most important among you will be your slave.27 Whoever desires to be first among you shall be your bondservant,27 and whosoever will be first among you, let him be your bondman;
28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many."28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.28 It's the same way with the Son of Man. He didn't come so that others could serve him. He came to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many people."28 even as the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."28 as indeed the Son of man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many.
Sight for the Blind
29 As they were leaving Jericho, a large crowd followed Him.29 And as they departed from Jericho, a great multitude followed him.29 As they were leaving Jericho, a large crowd followed Jesus.29 As they went out from Jericho, a great multitude followed him.29 And as they went out from Jericho a great crowd followed him.
30 And two blind men sitting by the road, hearing that Jesus was passing by, cried out, "Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!"30 And, behold, two blind men sitting by the way side, when they heard that Jesus passed by, cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou son of David.30 Two blind men were sitting by the road. When they heard that Jesus was passing by, they shouted, "Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!"30 Behold, two blind men sitting by the road, when they heard that Jesus was passing by, cried out, "Lord, have mercy on us, you son of David!"30 And lo, two blind men, sitting by the wayside, having heard that Jesus was passing by, cried out saying, Have mercy on us, Lord, Son of David.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
31 The crowd sternly told them to be quiet, but they cried out all the more, "Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!"31 And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: but they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou son of David.31 The crowd told them to be quiet. But they shouted even louder, "Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!"31 The multitude rebuked them, telling them that they should be quiet, but they cried out even more, "Lord, have mercy on us, you son of David!"31 But the crowd rebuked them, that they might be silent. But they cried out the more, saying, Have mercy on us, Lord, Son of David.
32 And Jesus stopped and called them, and said, "What do you want Me to do for you?"32 And Jesus stood still, and called them, and said, What will ye that I shall do unto you?32 Jesus stopped and called them. "What do you want me to do for you?" he asked.32 Jesus stood still, and called them, and asked, "What do you want me to do for you?"32 And Jesus, having stopped, called them and said, What will ye that I shall do to you?
33 They said to Him, "Lord, we want our eyes to be opened."33 They say unto him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened.33 They told him, "Lord, we want you to give us our eyesight back."33 They told him, "Lord, that our eyes may be opened."33 They say to him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened.
34 Moved with compassion, Jesus touched their eyes; and immediately they regained their sight and followed Him.34 So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.34 Jesus felt sorry for them, so he touched their eyes. Their sight was restored at once, and they followed him.34 Jesus, being moved with compassion, touched their eyes; and immediately their eyes received their sight, and they followed him.34 And Jesus, moved with compassion, touched their eyes; and immediately their eyes had sight restored to them, and they followed him.
