Peter and John Arrested
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 As they were speaking to the people, the priests and the captain of the temple guard and the Sadducees came up to them,1 And as they spake unto the people, the priests, and the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees, came upon them,1 Some priests, the officer in charge of the temple guards, and some Sadducees approached Peter and John while they were speaking to the people.1 As they spoke to the people, the priests and the captain of the temple and the Sadducees came to them,1 And as they were speaking to the people, the priests and captain of the temple and the Sadducees came upon them,
 being greatly disturbed because they were teaching the people and proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection from the dead.2 Being grieved that they taught the people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead.2 These religious authorities were greatly annoyed. Peter and John were teaching the people and spreading the message that the dead will come back to life through Jesus.2 being upset because they taught the people and proclaimed in Jesus the resurrection from the dead.2 being distressed on account of their teaching the people and preaching by Jesus the resurrection from among the dead;
 And they laid hands on them and put them in jail until the next day, for it was already evening.3 And they laid hands on them, and put them in hold unto the next day: for it was now eventide.3 So the temple guards arrested them. Since it was already evening, they put Peter and John in jail until the next day.3 They laid hands on them, and put them in custody until the next day, for it was now evening.3 and they laid hands on them, and put them in ward till the morrow; for it was already evening.
 But many of those who had heard the message believed; and the number of the men came to be about five thousand.4 Howbeit many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand.4 But many of those who had heard the message became believers, so the number of men who believed grew to about 5,000.4 But many of those who heard the word believed, and the number of the men came to be about five thousand.4 But many of those who had heard the word believed; and the number of the men had become about five thousand.
 On the next day, their rulers and elders and scribes were gathered together in Jerusalem;5 And it came to pass on the morrow, that their rulers, and elders, and scribes,5 The next day the Jewish rulers, leaders, and scribes met in Jerusalem.5 It happened in the morning, that their rulers, elders, and scribes were gathered together in Jerusalem.5 And it came to pass on the morrow that their rulers and elders and scribes were gathered together at Jerusalem,

 and Annas the high priest was there, and Caiaphas and John and Alexander, and all who were of high-priestly descent.6 And Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem.6 The chief priest Annas, Caiaphas, John, Alexander, and the rest of the chief priest's family were present.6 Annas the high priest was there, with Caiaphas, John, Alexander, and as many as were relatives of the high priest.6 and Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the high priestly family;
 When they had placed them in the center, they began to inquire, "By what power, or in what name, have you done this?"7 And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this?7 They made Peter and John stand in front of them and then asked, "By what power or in whose name did you do this?"7 When they had stood them in the middle of them, they inquired, "By what power, or in what name, have you done this?"7 and having placed them in the midst they inquired, In what power or in what name have ye done this?
 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, "Rulers and elders of the people,8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,8 Then Peter, because he was filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, "Rulers and leaders of the people,8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, "You rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, Rulers of the people and elders of Israel,
 if we are on trial today for a benefit done to a sick man, as to how this man has been made well,9 If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole;9 today you are cross-examining us about the good we did for a crippled man. You want to know how he was made well.9 if we are examined today concerning a good deed done to a crippled man, by what means this man has been healed,9 if we this day are called upon to answer as to the good deed done to the infirm man, how he has been healed,
 let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead-- by this name this man stands here before you in good health.10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.10 You and all the people of Israel must understand that this man stands in your presence with a healthy body because of the power of Jesus Christ from Nazareth. You crucified Jesus Christ, but God has brought him back to life.10 be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, in him does this man stand here before you whole.10 be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazaraean, whom ye have crucified, whom God has raised from among the dead, by him this man stands here before you sound in body.

 "He is the STONE WHICH WAS REJECTED by you, THE BUILDERS, but WHICH BECAME THE CHIEF CORNER stone.11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.11 He is the stone that the builders rejected, the stone that has become the cornerstone.11 He is 'the stone which was regarded as worthless by you, the builders, which has become the head of the corner.'11 He is the stone which has been set at nought by you the builders, which is become the corner stone.
 "And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved."12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.12 No one else can save us. Indeed, we can be saved only by the power of the one named Jesus and not by any other person."12 There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"12 And salvation is in none other, for neither is there another name under heaven which is given among men by which we must be saved.
Threat and Release
 Now as they observed the confidence of Peter and John and understood that they were uneducated and untrained men, they were amazed, and began to recognize them as having been with Jesus.13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.13 After they found out that Peter and John had no education or special training, they were surprised to see how boldly they spoke. They realized that these men had been with Jesus.13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and had perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled. They recognized that they had been with Jesus.13 But seeing the boldness of Peter and John, and perceiving that they were unlettered and uninstructed men, they wondered; and they recognised them that they were with Jesus.
 And seeing the man who had been healed standing with them, they had nothing to say in reply.14 And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.14 When they saw the man who was healed standing with Peter and John, they couldn't say anything against the two apostles.14 Seeing the man who was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.14 And beholding the man who had been healed standing with them, they had nothing to reply;
 But when they had ordered them to leave the Council, they began to confer with one another,15 But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves,15 So they ordered Peter and John to leave the council room and began to discuss the matter among themselves.15 But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves,15 but having commanded them to go out of the council they conferred with one another,
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 saying, "What shall we do with these men? For the fact that a noteworthy miracle has taken place through them is apparent to all who live in Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it.16 Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.16 They said, "What should we do to these men? Clearly, they've performed a miracle that everyone in Jerusalem knows about. We can't deny that.16 saying, "What shall we do to these men? Because indeed a notable miracle has been done through them, as can be plainly seen by all who dwell in Jerusalem, and we can't deny it.16 saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed an evident sign has come to pass through their means is manifest to all that inhabit Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it.
 "But so that it will not spread any further among the people, let us warn them to speak no longer to any man in this name."17 But that it spread no further among the people, let us straitly threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name.17 So let's threaten them. Let's tell them that they must never speak to anyone about the one named Jesus. Then the news about the miracle that they have performed will not spread any further among the people."17 But so that this spreads no further among the people, let's threaten them, that from now on they don't speak to anyone in this name."17 But that it be not further spread among the people, let us threaten them severely no longer to speak to any man in this name.
 And when they had summoned them, they commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus.18 And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.18 They called Peter and John and ordered them never to teach about Jesus or even mention his name.18 They called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.18 And having called them, they charged them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.
 But Peter and John answered and said to them, "Whether it is right in the sight of God to give heed to you rather than to God, you be the judge;19 But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.19 Peter and John answered them, "Decide for yourselves whether God wants people to listen to you rather than to him.19 But Peter and John answered them, "Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, judge for yourselves,19 But Peter and John answering said to them, If it be righteous before God to listen to you rather than to God, judge ye;
 for we cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard."20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.20 We cannot stop talking about what we've seen and heard."20 for we can't help telling the things which we saw and heard."20 for as for us we cannot refrain from speaking of the things which we have seen and heard.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 When they had threatened them further, they let them go (finding no basis on which to punish them) on account of the people, because they were all glorifying God for what had happened;21 So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people: for all men glorified God for that which was done.21 The authorities threatened them even more and then let them go. Since all the people were praising God for what had happened, the authorities couldn't find any way to punish Peter and John.21 When they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding no way to punish them, because of the people; for everyone glorified God for that which was done.21 But they, having further threatened them, let them go, finding no way how they might punish them, on account of the people, because all glorified God for what had taken place;
 for the man was more than forty years old on whom this miracle of healing had been performed.22 For the man was above forty years old, on whom this miracle of healing was shewed.22 (The man who was healed by this miracle was over 40 years old.)22 For the man on whom this miracle of healing was performed was more than forty years old.22 for the man on whom this sign of healing had taken place was above forty years old.
 When they had been released, they went to their own companions and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said to them.23 And being let go, they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said unto them.23 When Peter and John were released, they went to the other apostles and told them everything the chief priests and leaders had said.23 Being let go, they came to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said to them.23 And having been let go, they came to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said to them.
 And when they heard this, they lifted their voices to God with one accord and said, "O Lord, it is You who MADE THE HEAVEN AND THE EARTH AND THE SEA, AND ALL THAT IS IN THEM,24 And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is:24 When the apostles heard this, they were united and loudly prayed to God, "Master, you made the sky, the land, the sea, and everything in them.24 When they heard it, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, "O Lord, you are God, who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and all that is in them;24 And they, having heard it, lifted up their voice with one accord to God, and said, Lord, thou art the God who made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and all that is in them;
 who by the Holy Spirit, through the mouth of our father David Your servant, said, 'WHY DID THE GENTILES RAGE, AND THE PEOPLES DEVISE FUTILE THINGS?25 Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things?25 You said through the Holy Spirit, who spoke through your servant David (our ancestor), 'Why do the nations act arrogantly? Why do their people devise useless plots?25 who by the mouth of your servant, David, said, 'Why do the nations rage, and the peoples plot a vain thing?25 who hast said by the mouth of thy servant David, Why have the nations raged haughtily and the peoples meditated vain things?
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 'THE KINGS OF THE EARTH TOOK THEIR STAND, AND THE RULERS WERE GATHERED TOGETHER AGAINST THE LORD AND AGAINST HIS CHRIST.'26 The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ.26 Kings take their stand. Rulers make plans together against the Lord and against his Messiah.'26 The kings of the earth take a stand, and the rulers take council together, against the Lord, and against his Christ.'26 The kings of the earth were there, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord and against his Christ.
 "For truly in this city there were gathered together against Your holy servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel,27 For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together,27 "In this city Herod and Pontius Pilate made plans together with non-Jewish people and the people of Israel. They made their plans against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed.27 "For truly, in this city against your holy servant, Jesus, whom you anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered together27 For in truth against thy holy servant Jesus, whom thou hadst anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the nations, and peoples of Israel, have been gathered together in this city
 to do whatever Your hand and Your purpose predestined to occur.28 For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done.28 Through your will and power, they did everything that you had already decided should be done.28 to do whatever your hand and your council foreordained to happen.28 to do whatever thy hand and thy counsel had determined before should come to pass.
 "And now, Lord, take note of their threats, and grant that Your bond-servants may speak Your word with all confidence,29 And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word,29 "Lord, pay attention to their threats now, and allow us to speak your word boldly.29 Now, Lord, look at their threats, and grant to your servants to speak your word with all boldness,29 And now, Lord, look upon their threatenings, and give to thy bondmen with all boldness to speak thy word,
 while You extend Your hand to heal, and signs and wonders take place through the name of Your holy servant Jesus."30 By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.30 Show your power by healing, performing miracles, and doing amazing things through the power and the name of your holy servant Jesus."30 while you stretch out your hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of your holy Servant Jesus."30 in that thou stretchest out thy hand to heal, and that signs and wonders take place through the name of thy holy servant Jesus.

 And when they had prayed, the place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with boldness.31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.31 When the apostles had finished praying, their meeting place shook. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God boldly.31 When they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were gathered together. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.31 And when they had prayed, the place in which they were assembled shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and spoke the word of God with boldness.
Sharing among Believers
 And the congregation of those who believed were of one heart and soul; and not one of them claimed that anything belonging to him was his own, but all things were common property to them.32 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.32 The whole group of believers lived in harmony. No one called any of his possessions his own. Instead, they shared everything.32 The multitude of those who believed were of one heart and soul. Not one of them claimed that anything of the things which he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common.32 And the heart and soul of the multitude of those that had believed were one, and not one said that anything of what he possessed was his own, but all things were common to them;
 And with great power the apostles were giving testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and abundant grace was upon them all.33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.33 With great power the apostles continued to testify that the Lord Jesus had come back to life. [God's] abundant good will was with all of them. 33 With great power, the apostles gave their testimony of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. Great grace was on them all.33 and with great power did the apostles give witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all.
 For there was not a needy person among them, for all who were owners of land or houses would sell them and bring the proceeds of the sales34 Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,34 None of them needed anything. From time to time, people sold land or houses and brought the money34 For neither was there among them any who lacked, for as many as were owners of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold,34 For neither was there any one in want among them; for as many as were owners of lands or houses, selling them, brought the price of what was sold
 and lay them at the apostles' feet, and they would be distributed to each as any had need.35 And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.35 to the apostles. Then the money was distributed to anyone who needed it.35 and laid them at the apostles' feet, and distribution was made to each, according as anyone had need.35 and laid it at the feet of the apostles; and distribution was made to each according as any one might have need.

 Now Joseph, a Levite of Cyprian birth, who was also called Barnabas by the apostles (which translated means Son of Encouragement),36 And Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, being interpreted, The son of consolation,) a Levite, and of the country of Cyprus,36 Joseph, a descendant of Levi, had been born on the island of Cyprus. The apostles called him Barnabas, which means "a person who encourages."36 Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas (which is, being interpreted, Son of Encouragement), a Levite, a man of Cyprus by race,36 And Joseph, who had been surnamed Barnabas by the apostles (which is, being interpreted, Son of consolation), a Levite, Cyprian by birth,
 and who owned a tract of land, sold it and brought the money and laid it at the apostles' feet.37 Having land, sold it, and brought the money, and laid it at the apostles' feet.37 He had some land. He sold it and turned the money over to the apostles.37 having a field, sold it, and brought the money and laid it at the apostles' feet.37 being possessed of land, having sold it, brought the money and laid it at the feet of the apostles.
