4 "While it remained unsold, did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, was it not under your control? Why is it that you have conceived this deed in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God."4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.4 While you had the land, it was your own. After it was sold, you could have done as you pleased with the money. So how could you do a thing like this? You didn't lie to people but to God!"4 While you kept it, didn't it remain your own? After it was sold, wasn't it in your power? How is it that you have conceived this thing in your heart? You haven't lied to men, but to God."4 While it remained did it not remain to thee? and sold, was it not in thine own power? Why is it that thou hast purposed this thing in thine heart? Thou hast not lied to men, but to God.
5 And as he heard these words, Ananias fell down and breathed his last; and great fear came over all who heard of it.5 And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.5 When Ananias heard Peter say this, he dropped dead. Everyone who heard about his death was terrified.5 Ananias, hearing these words, fell down and died. 9 Then Peter said to her, "Why is it that you have agreed together to put the Spirit of the Lord to the test? Behold, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out as well."9 Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out.9 Then Peter said to her, "How could you and your husband agree to test the Lord's Spirit? Those who buried your husband are standing at the door, and they will carry you outside for burial."9 But Peter asked her, "How is it that you have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? Behold, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out."9 And Peter said to her, Why is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? Imprisonment and Release

21 Upon hearing this, they entered into the temple about daybreak and began to teach. Now when the high priest and his associates came, they called the Council together, even all the Senate of the sons of Israel, and sent orders to the prison house for them to be brought.21 And when they heard that, they entered into the temple early in the morning, and taught. But the high priest came, and they that were with him, and called the council together, and all the senate of the children of Israel, and sent to the prison to have them brought.21 Early in the morning, after they had listened to the angel, the apostles went into the temple courtyard and began to teach. The chief priest and those who were with him called together the Jewish council, that is, all the leaders of Israel. They also sent men to the prison to get the apostles.21 When they heard this, they entered into the temple about daybreak, and taught. 22 But the officers who came did not find them in the prison; and they returned and reported back,22 But when the officers came, and found them not in the prison, they returned and told,22 When the temple guards arrived at the prison, they didn't find the apostles. However, when we opened the doors, we found no one inside."23 "We found the prison shut and locked, and the guards standing before the doors, but when we opened them, we found no one inside!"23 saying, We found the prison shut with all security, and the keepers standing at the doors; but when we had opened them, within we found no one.
24 Now when the captain of the temple guard and the chief priests heard these words, they were greatly perplexed about them as to what would come of this.24 Now when the high priest and the captain of the temple and the chief priests heard these things, they doubted of them whereunto this would grow.24 When the officer of the temple guards and the chief priests heard this, they were puzzled about what could have happened.24 Now when the high priest, the captain of the temple, and the chief priests heard these words, they were very perplexed about them and what might become of this.24 And when they heard these words, both the priest and the captain of the temple and the chief priests were in perplexity as to them, what this would come to.
25 But someone came and reported to them, "The men whom you put in prison are standing in the temple and teaching the people!"25 Then came one and told them, saying, Behold, the men whom ye put in prison are standing in the temple, and teaching the people.25 Then someone told them, "The men you put in prison are standing in the temple courtyard. They're teaching the people."25 One came and told them, "Behold, the men whom you put in prison are in the temple, standing and teaching the people."25 And some one coming reported to them, Lo, the men whom ye put in the prison are in the temple, standing and teaching the people.

26 Then the captain went along with the officers and proceeded to bring them back without violence (for they were afraid of the people, that they might be stoned).26 Then went the captain with the officers, and brought them without violence: for they feared the people, lest they should have been stoned.26 Then the officer of the temple guards went with some of his men to bring back the apostles without using force. Yet, you've filled Jerusalem with your teachings. You want to take revenge on us for putting that man to death."28 saying, "Didn't we strictly command you not to teach in this name? Behold, you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and intend to bring this man's blood on us."28 saying, We strictly enjoined you not to teach in this name: and lo, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and purpose to bring upon us the blood of this man.
29 But Peter and the apostles answered, "We must obey God rather than men.29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.29 Peter and the other apostles answered, "We must obey God rather than people.29 But Peter and the apostles answered, "We must obey God rather than men.29 But Peter answering, and the apostles, said, God must be obeyed rather than men.

31 "He is the one whom God exalted to His right hand as a Prince and a Savior, to grant repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.31 Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.31 God used his power to give Jesus the highest position as leader and savior. Gamaliel’s Counsel

But he was killed, and all who followed him were dispersed and came to nothing.36 For before these days rose up Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered, and brought to nought.36 Some time ago Theudas appeared. He claimed that he was important, and about four hundred men joined him. He was killed, and all his followers were scattered. We should leave them alone. I can guarantee that if the plan they put into action is of human origin, it will fail.38 Now I tell you, withdraw from these men, and leave them alone. For if this counsel or this work is of men, it will be overthrown.38 And now I say to you, Withdraw from these men and let them alone, for if this counsel or this work have its origin from men, it will be destroyed;
39 but if it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow them; or else you may even be found fighting against God."39 But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.39 However, if it's from God, you won't be able to stop them. You may even discover that you're fighting against God."39 But if it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow it, and you would be found even to be fighting against God!"39 but if it be from God, ye will not be able to put them down, lest ye be found also fighters against God.
40 They took his advice; and after calling the apostles in, they flogged them and ordered them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and then released them.40 And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.40 The council took his advice. They called the apostles, beat them, ordered them not to speak about the one named Jesus, and let them go.40 They agreed with him. 41 So they went on their way from the presence of the Council, rejoicing that they had been considered worthy to suffer shame for His name.41 And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.41 The apostles left the council room.
