Portion of the Levites
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
1 "The Levitical priests, the whole tribe of Levi, shall have no portion or inheritance with Israel; they shall eat the LORD'S offerings by fire and His portion.1 The priests the Levites, and all the tribe of Levi, shall have no part nor inheritance with Israel: they shall eat the offerings of the LORD made by fire, and his inheritance.1 The Levitical priests-in fact, the whole tribe of Levi-will receive no land or property of their own like the rest of the Israelites. They will eat what has been sacrificed to the LORD. These sacrifices will be what they receive. 1 The priests the Levites, [even] all the tribe of Levi, shall have no portion nor inheritance with Israel: they shall eat the offerings of Yahweh made by fire, and his inheritance.1 The priests, the Levites, and the whole tribe of Levi, shall have no portion nor inheritance with Israel: Jehovah's offerings by fire, and his inheritance shall they eat,
2 "They shall have no inheritance among their countrymen; the LORD is their inheritance, as He promised them.2 Therefore shall they have no inheritance among their brethren: the LORD is their inheritance, as he hath said unto them.2 So the Levites will have no land of their own like the other Israelites. The LORD will be their inheritance, as he promised them.2 They shall have no inheritance among their brothers: Yahweh is their inheritance, as he has spoken to them.2 but they shall have no inheritance among their brethren: Jehovah, he is their inheritance, as he hath said unto them.
3 "Now this shall be the priests' due from the people, from those who offer a sacrifice, either an ox or a sheep, of which they shall give to the priest the shoulder and the two cheeks and the stomach.3 And this shall be the priest's due from the people, from them that offer a sacrifice, whether it be ox or sheep; and they shall give unto the priest the shoulder, and the two cheeks, and the maw.3 This is what the people owe the priests whenever they sacrifice an ox, a sheep, or a goat: the shoulder, jaws, and stomach.3 This shall be the priests' due from the people, from those who offer a sacrifice, whether it be ox or sheep, that they shall give to the priest the shoulder, and the two cheeks, and the maw.3 And this shall be the priest's due from the people, from them that sacrifice a sacrifice, whether ox, or sheep: they shall give unto the priest the shoulder, and the jawbones, and the maw.
4 "You shall give him the first fruits of your grain, your new wine, and your oil, and the first shearing of your sheep.4 The firstfruit also of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the first of the fleece of thy sheep, shalt thou give him.4 Also, give them the first produce harvested: grain, new wine, olive oil, and the first wool you shear from your sheep.4 The first fruits of your grain, of your new wine, and of your oil, and the first of the fleece of your sheep, you shall give him.4 The firstfruits also of thy corn, of thy new wine, and of thine oil, and the firstfruits of the shearing of thy sheep, shalt thou give him;
5 "For the LORD your God has chosen him and his sons from all your tribes, to stand and serve in the name of the LORD forever.5 For the LORD thy God hath chosen him out of all thy tribes, to stand to minister in the name of the LORD, him and his sons for ever.5 Out of all your tribes, the LORD your God has chosen the Levites and their descendants to do the work of serving in the name of the LORD forever.5 For Yahweh your God has chosen him out of all your tribes, to stand to minister in the name of Yahweh, him and his sons for ever.5 for Jehovah thy God hath chosen him out of all thy tribes, that he may stand to serve in the name of Jehovah, he and his sons continually.

6 "Now if a Levite comes from any of your towns throughout Israel where he resides, and comes whenever he desires to the place which the LORD chooses,6 And if a Levite come from any of thy gates out of all Israel, where he sojourned, and come with all the desire of his mind unto the place which the LORD shall choose;6 A Levite from any of your cities in Israel may come from where he has been living to the place the LORD will choose. He may come as often as he wants6 If a Levite comes from any of your gates out of all Israel, where he lives as a foreigner, and comes with all the desire of his soul to the place which Yahweh shall choose;6 And if the Levite shall come from one of thy gates out of all Israel, where he sojourneth, and shall come according to all the desire of his soul unto the place which Jehovah will choose,
7 then he shall serve in the name of the LORD his God, like all his fellow Levites who stand there before the LORD.7 Then he shall minister in the name of the LORD his God, as all his brethren the Levites do, which stand there before the LORD.7 and may serve in the name of the LORD his God like all the other Levites who do their work in the LORD's presence.7 then he shall minister in the name of Yahweh his God, as all his brothers the Levites do, who stand there before Yahweh.7 and shall serve in the name of Jehovah his God, as all his brethren the Levites that stand there before Jehovah,
8 "They shall eat equal portions, except what they receive from the sale of their fathers' estates.8 They shall have like portions to eat, beside that which cometh of the sale of his patrimony.8 If he does, he'll get the same amount of food as they do, in addition to what he gets from selling his family's goods. 8 They shall have like portions to eat, besides that which comes of the sale of his patrimony.8 they shall have like portions to eat, besides that which he hath sold of his patrimony.

The LORD your God is forcing these nations out of your way because of their disgusting practices.12 For whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh: and because of these abominations Yahweh your God does drive them out from before you.12 For every one that doeth these things is an abomination to Jehovah, and because of these abominations Jehovah thy God doth dispossess them from before thee.

14 "For those nations, which you shall dispossess, listen to those who practice witchcraft and to diviners, but as for you, the LORD your God has not allowed you to do so.14 For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, the LORD thy God hath not suffered thee so to do.14 These nations you are forcing out listen to fortunetellers and to those who practice black magic. But the LORD your God won't let you do anything like that.14 For these nations, that you shall dispossess, listen to those who practice sorcery, and to diviners; but as for you, Yahweh your God has not allowed you so to do.14 For these nations, which thou shalt dispossess, hearkened unto those that use auguries, and that use divination; but as for thee, Jehovah thy God hath not suffered thee to do so.

You must listen to him.15 Yahweh your God will raise up to you a prophet from the midst of you, of your brothers, like me. 16 "This is according to all that you asked of the LORD your God in Horeb on the day of the assembly, saying, 'Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, let me not see this great fire anymore, or I will die.'16 According to all that thou desiredst of the LORD thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not.16 This is what you asked the LORD your God to give you on the day of the assembly at Mount Horeb. You said, "We never want to hear the voice of the LORD our God or see this raging fire again. If we do, we'll die!"16 This is according to all that you desired of Yahweh your God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, "Let me not hear again the voice of Yahweh my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I not die."16 according to all that thou desiredst of Jehovah thy God at Horeb on the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of Jehovah my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not.
17 "The LORD said to me, 'They have spoken well.17 And the LORD said unto me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken.17 The LORD told me, "What they've said is good.17 Yahweh said to me, "They have well said that which they have spoken.17 And Jehovah said unto me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken.
18 'I will raise up a prophet from among their countrymen like you, and I will put My words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I command him.18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.18 So I will send them a prophet, an Israelite like you. I will put my words in his mouth. He will tell them everything I command him.18 I will raise them up a prophet from among their brothers, like you; and I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I shall command him.18 A prophet will I raise up unto them from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.
19 It shall come about that whoever will not listen to My words which he shall speak in My name, I Myself will require it of him.19 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.19 Whoever refuses to listen to the words that prophet speaks in my name will answer to me.19 It shall happen, that whoever will not listen to my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.19 And it shall come to pass that the man who hearkeneth not unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.

21 "You may say in your heart, 'How will we know the word which the LORD has not spoken?'21 And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken?21 You may be wondering, "How can we recognize that the LORD didn't speak this message?"21 If you say in your heart, "How shall we know the word which Yahweh has not spoken?"21 And if thou say in thy heart, How shall we know the word that Jehovah hath not spoken?
22 "When a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD, if the thing does not come about or come true, that is the thing which the LORD has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him.22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.22 If a prophet speaks in the LORD's name and what he says doesn't happen or come true, then it didn't come from the LORD. That prophet has spoken on his own authority. Never be afraid of him.22 when a prophet speaks in the name of Yahweh, if the thing doesn't follow, nor happen, that is the thing which Yahweh has not spoken: the prophet has spoken it presumptuously, you shall not be afraid of him.22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of Jehovah, and the thing followeth not, nor cometh to pass, that is the word which Jehovah hath not spoken; the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: be not afraid of him.
