Israel Multiplies in Egypt
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 Now these are the names of the sons of Israel who came to Egypt with Jacob; they came each one with his household:1 Now these are the names of the children of Israel, which came into Egypt; every man and his household came with Jacob.1 These are the names of the sons of Israel (that is, Jacob) who came with him to Egypt with their families:1 Now these are the names of the sons of Israel, who came into Egypt (every man and his household came with Jacob):1 And these are the names of the sons of Israel who had come into Egypt; with Jacob had they come, each with his household:
 Reuben, Simeon, Levi and Judah;2 Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah,2 Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah;2 Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah,2 Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah;
 Issachar, Zebulun and Benjamin;3 Issachar, Zebulun, and Benjamin,3 Issachar, Zebulun, and Benjamin;3 Issachar, Zebulun, and Benjamin,3 Issachar, Zebulun, and Benjamin;
 Dan and Naphtali, Gad and Asher.4 Dan, and Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.4 Dan and Naphtali; Gad and Asher.4 Dan and Naphtali, Gad and Asher.4 Dan and Naphtali; Gad and Asher.
 All the persons who came from the loins of Jacob were seventy in number, but Joseph was already in Egypt.5 And all the souls that came out of the loins of Jacob were seventy souls: for Joseph was in Egypt already.5 Joseph was already in Egypt. The total number of Jacob's descendants was 70.5 All the souls who came out of Jacob's body were seventy souls, and Joseph was in Egypt already.5 And all the souls that had come out of the loins of Jacob were seventy souls; and Joseph was in Egypt.

 Joseph died, and all his brothers and all that generation.6 And Joseph died, and all his brethren, and all that generation.6 Eventually, Joseph, all his brothers, and that entire generation died.6 Joseph died, as did all his brothers, and all that generation.6 And Joseph died, and all his brethren, and all that generation.
 But the sons of Israel were fruitful and increased greatly, and multiplied, and became exceedingly mighty, so that the land was filled with them.7 And the children of Israel were fruitful, and increased abundantly, and multiplied, and waxed exceeding mighty; and the land was filled with them.7 But the descendants of Israel had many children. They became so numerous and strong that the land was filled with them.7 The children of Israel were fruitful, and increased abundantly, and multiplied, and grew exceedingly mighty; and the land was filled with them.7 And the children of Israel were fruitful, and swarmed and multiplied, and became exceeding strong; and the land was full of them.
 Now a new king arose over Egypt, who did not know Joseph.8 Now there arose up a new king over Egypt, which knew not Joseph.8 Then a new king, who knew nothing about Joseph, began to rule in Egypt.8 Now there arose a new king over Egypt, who didn't know Joseph.8 And there arose a new king over Egypt, who did not know Joseph.
 He said to his people, "Behold, the people of the sons of Israel are more and mightier than we.9 And he said unto his people, Behold, the people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than we:9 He said to his people, "There are too many Israelites, and they are stronger than we are.9 He said to his people, "Behold, the people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than we.9 And he said to his people, Behold, the people of the children of Israel are more numerous and stronger than we.
 "Come, let us deal wisely with them, or else they will multiply and in the event of war, they will also join themselves to those who hate us, and fight against us and depart from the land."10 Come on, let us deal wisely with them; lest they multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there falleth out any war, they join also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and so get them up out of the land.10 We have to outsmart them, or they'll increase in number. Then, if war breaks out, they will join our enemies, fight against us, and leave the country."10 Come, let us deal wisely with them, lest they multiply, and it happen that when any war breaks out, they also join themselves to our enemies, and fight against us, and escape out of the land."10 Come on, let us deal wisely with them, lest they multiply, and it come to pass that, if war occur, they take side with our enemies and fight against us, and go up out of the land.

 So they appointed taskmasters over them to afflict them with hard labor. And they built for Pharaoh storage cities, Pithom and Raamses.11 Therefore they did set over them taskmasters to afflict them with their burdens. And they built for Pharaoh treasure cities, Pithom and Raamses.11 So the Egyptians put slave drivers in charge of them in order to oppress them through forced labor. They built Pithom and Rameses as supply cities for Pharaoh.11 Therefore they set taskmasters over them to afflict them with their burdens. They built storage cities for Pharaoh: Pithom and Raamses.11 And they set over them service-masters to oppress them with their burdens. And they built store-cities for Pharaoh, Pithom and Rameses.
 But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and the more they spread out, so that they were in dread of the sons of Israel.12 But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew. And they were grieved because of the children of Israel.12 But the more the Israelites were oppressed, the more they increased in number and spread out. The Egyptians couldn't stand them [any longer].12 But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and the more they spread out. They were grieved because of the children of Israel.12 But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and spread; and they were distressed because of the children of Israel.
 The Egyptians compelled the sons of Israel to labor rigorously;13 And the Egyptians made the children of Israel to serve with rigor:13 So they forced the Israelites to work hard as slaves.13 The Egyptians ruthlessly made the children of Israel serve,13 And the Egyptians made the children of Israel serve with harshness;
 and they made their lives bitter with hard labor in mortar and bricks and at all kinds of labor in the field, all their labors which they rigorously imposed on them.14 And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage, in mortar, and in brick, and in all manner of service in the field: all their service, wherein they made them serve, was with rigor.14 They made their lives bitter with back-breaking work in mortar and bricks and every kind of work in the fields. All the jobs the Egyptians gave them were brutally hard.14 and they made their lives bitter with hard service, in mortar and in brick, and in all kinds of service in the field, all their service, in which they ruthlessly made them serve.14 and they embittered their life with hard labour in clay and bricks, and in all manner of labour in the field: all their labour with which they made them serve was with harshness.
 Then the king of Egypt spoke to the Hebrew midwives, one of whom was named Shiphrah and the other was named Puah;15 And the king of Egypt spake to the Hebrew midwives, of which the name of the one was Shiphrah, and the name of the other Puah:15 Then the king of Egypt told the Hebrew midwives, whose names were Shiphrah and Puah,15 The king of Egypt spoke to the Hebrew midwives, of whom the name of the one was Shiphrah, and the name of the other Puah,15 And the king of Egypt spoke to the Hebrew midwives of whom the name of the one was Shiphrah, and the name of the other was Puah --

 and he said, "When you are helping the Hebrew women to give birth and see them upon the birthstool, if it is a son, then you shall put him to death; but if it is a daughter, then she shall live."16 And he said, When ye do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see them upon the stools; if it be a son, then ye shall kill him: but if it be a daughter, then she shall live.16 "When you help the Hebrew women in childbirth, look at the child when you deliver it. If it's a boy, kill it, but if it's a girl, let it live."16 and he said, "When you perform the duty of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see them on the birth stool; if it is a son, then you shall kill him; but if it is a daughter, then she shall live."16 and he said, When ye help the Hebrew women in bearing, and see them on the stool, if it be a son, then ye shall kill him, but if a daughter, then she shall live.
 But the midwives feared God, and did not do as the king of Egypt had commanded them, but let the boys live.17 But the midwives feared God, and did not as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the men children alive.17 However, the midwives feared God and didn't obey the king of Egypt's orders. They let the boys live.17 But the midwives feared God, and didn't do what the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the baby boys alive.17 But the midwives feared God, and did not as the king of Egypt had said to them, but saved the male children alive.
 So the king of Egypt called for the midwives and said to them, "Why have you done this thing, and let the boys live?"18 And the king of Egypt called for the midwives, and said unto them, Why have ye done this thing, and have saved the men children alive?18 So the king of Egypt called for the midwives. He asked them, "Why have you done this? Why have you let the boys live?"18 The king of Egypt called for the midwives, and said to them, "Why have you done this thing, and have saved the boys alive?"18 And the king of Egypt called the midwives and said to them, Why have ye done this, and saved the male children alive?
 The midwives said to Pharaoh, "Because the Hebrew women are not as the Egyptian women; for they are vigorous and give birth before the midwife can get to them."19 And the midwives said unto Pharaoh, Because the Hebrew women are not as the Egyptian women; for they are lively, and are delivered ere the midwives come in unto them.19 The midwives answered Pharaoh, "Hebrew women are not like Egyptian women. They are so healthy that they have their babies before a midwife arrives."19 The midwives said to Pharaoh, "Because the Hebrew women aren't like the Egyptian women; for they are vigorous, and give birth before the midwife comes to them."19 And the midwives said to Pharaoh, Because the Hebrew women are not as the Egyptian; for they are strong, and they have borne before the midwife comes to them.
 So God was good to the midwives, and the people multiplied, and became very mighty.20 Therefore God dealt well with the midwives: and the people multiplied, and waxed very mighty.20 God was good to the midwives. So the people increased in number and became very strong.20 God dealt well with the midwives, and the people multiplied, and grew very mighty.20 And God dealt well with the midwives; and the people multiplied and became very strong.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 Because the midwives feared God, He established households for them.21 And it came to pass, because the midwives feared God, that he made them houses.21 Because the midwives feared God, he gave them families of their own.21 It happened, because the midwives feared God, that he gave them families.21 And it came to pass, because the midwives feared God, that he made them houses.
 Then Pharaoh commanded all his people, saying, "Every son who is born you are to cast into the Nile, and every daughter you are to keep alive."22 And Pharaoh charged all his people, saying, Every son that is born ye shall cast into the river, and every daughter ye shall save alive.22 Then Pharaoh commanded all his people to throw into the Nile every [Hebrew] boy that was born, but to let every girl live.22 Pharaoh commanded all his people, saying, "You shall cast every son who is born into the river, and every daughter you shall save alive."22 Then Pharaoh charged all his people, saying, Every son that is born ye shall cast into the river, but every daughter ye shall save alive.
