Jacob Moves to Bethel
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
Then God said to Jacob, "Arise, go up to Bethel and live there, and make an altar there to God, who appeared to you when you fled from your brother Esau."1 And God said unto Jacob, Arise, go up to Bethel, and dwell there: and make there an altar unto God, that appeared unto thee when thou fleddest from the face of Esau thy brother.1 Then God said to Jacob, "Go to Bethel and live there. Make an altar there. I am the God who appeared to you when you were fleeing from your brother Esau."1 God said to Jacob, "Arise, go up to Bethel, and live there. Make there an altar to God, who appeared to you when you fled from the face of Esau your brother."1 And God said to Jacob, Arise, go up to Bethel, and dwell there, and make there an altar unto the God that appeared unto thee when thou fleddest from the face of Esau thy brother.
 So Jacob said to his household and to all who were with him, "Put away the foreign gods which are among you, and purify yourselves and change your garments;2 Then Jacob said unto his household, and to all that were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and be clean, and change your garments:2 So Jacob said to his family and those who were with him, "Get rid of the foreign gods which you have, wash yourselves until you are ritually clean, and change your clothes. 2 Then Jacob said to his household, and to all who were with him, "Put away the foreign gods that are among you, purify yourselves, change your garments.2 And Jacob said to his household, and to all that were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and cleanse yourselves, and change your garments;
and let us arise and go up to Bethel, and I will make an altar there to God, who answered me in the day of my distress and has been with me wherever I have gone."3 And let us arise, and go up to Bethel; and I will make there an altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went.3 Then let's go to Bethel. I will make an altar there to God, who answered me when I was troubled and who has been with me wherever I've gone."3 Let us arise, and go up to Bethel. I will make there an altar to God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went."3 and we will arise, and go up to Bethel; and I will make there an altar to the God that answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way that I went.
So they gave to Jacob all the foreign gods which they had and the rings which were in their ears, and Jacob hid them under the oak which was near Shechem.4 And they gave unto Jacob all the strange gods which were in their hand, and all their earrings which were in their ears; and Jacob hid them under the oak which was by Shechem.4 So they gave Jacob all the foreign gods that they had in their possession as well as the earrings that they had on. Jacob buried these things under the oak tree near Shechem.4 They gave to Jacob all the foreign gods which were in their hands, and the rings which were in their ears; and Jacob hid them under the oak which was by Shechem.4 And they gave to Jacob all the strange gods that were in their hand, and the rings that were in their ears, and Jacob hid them under the terebinth that is by Shechem.
As they journeyed, there was a great terror upon the cities which were around them, and they did not pursue the sons of Jacob.5 And they journeyed: and the terror of God was upon the cities that were round about them, and they did not pursue after the sons of Jacob.5 As they moved on, God made the people of the cities that were all around them terrified so that no one pursued them.5 They traveled, and a terror of God was on the cities that were around them, and they didn't pursue the sons of Jacob.5 And they journeyed; and the terror of God was upon the cities that were round about them, and they did not pursue after the sons of Jacob.

So Jacob came to Luz (that is, Bethel), which is in the land of Canaan, he and all the people who were with him.6 So Jacob came to Luz, which is in the land of Canaan, that is, Bethel, he and all the people that were with him.6 Jacob and all the people who were with him came to Luz (that is, Bethel) in the land of Canaan.6 So Jacob came to Luz (that is, Bethel), which is in the land of Canaan, he and all the people who were with him.6 And Jacob came to Luz, which is in the land of Canaan, that is, Bethel, he and all the people that were with him.
He built an altar there, and called the place El-bethel, because there God had revealed Himself to him when he fled from his brother.7 And he built there an altar, and called the place Elbethel: because there God appeared unto him, when he fled from the face of his brother.7 He built an altar there and called that place El Bethel [God of the House of God]. That's where God had revealed himself to Jacob when he was fleeing from his brother.7 He built an altar there, and called the place El Beth El; because there God was revealed to him, when he fled from the face of his brother.7 And he built there an altar, and called the place El-beth-el; because there God had appeared to him when he fled from the face of his brother.
Now Deborah, Rebekah's nurse, died, and she was buried below Bethel under the oak; it was named Allon-bacuth.8 But Deborah Rebekah's nurse died, and she was buried beneath Bethel under an oak: and the name of it was called Allonbachuth.8 Rebekah's nurse Deborah died and was buried under the oak tree outside Bethel. So Jacob called it the Tree of Crying.8 Deborah, Rebekah's nurse, died, and she was buried below Bethel under the oak; and its name was called Allon Bacuth.8 And Deborah, Rebecca's nurse, died; and she was buried beneath Bethel, under the oak; and the name of it was called Allon-bachuth.
Jacob Is Named Israel
Then God appeared to Jacob again when he came from Paddan-aram, and He blessed him.9 And God appeared unto Jacob again, when he came out of Padanaram, and blessed him.9 Then God appeared once more to Jacob after he came back from Paddan Aram, and he blessed him.9 God appeared to Jacob again, when he came from Paddan Aram, and blessed him.9 And God appeared to Jacob again after he had come from Padan-Aram, and blessed him.
God said to him, "Your name is Jacob; You shall no longer be called Jacob, But Israel shall be your name." Thus He called him Israel.10 And God said unto him, Thy name is Jacob: thy name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be thy name: and he called his name Israel.10 God said to him, "Your name is Jacob. You will no longer be called Jacob, but your name will be Israel." So he named him Israel.10 God said to him, "Your name is Jacob. Your name shall not be Jacob any more, but your name will be Israel." He named him Israel.10 And God said to him, Thy name is Jacob: thy name shall not henceforth be called Jacob, but Israel shall be thy name. And he called his name Israel.

God also said to him, "I am God Almighty; Be fruitful and multiply; A nation and a company of nations shall come from you, And kings shall come forth from you.11 And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins;11 God also said to him, "I am God Almighty. Be fertile, and increase in number. A nation and a community of nations will come from you, and kings will come from you.11 God said to him, "I am God Almighty. Be fruitful and multiply. A nation and a company of nations will be from you, and kings will come out of your body.11 And God said to him, I am the Almighty God: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee; and kings shall come out of thy loins.
"The land which I gave to Abraham and Isaac, I will give it to you, And I will give the land to your descendants after you."12 And the land which I gave Abraham and Isaac, to thee I will give it, and to thy seed after thee will I give the land.12 I will give you the land that I gave to Abraham and Isaac. I will also give this land to your descendants."12 The land which I gave to Abraham and Isaac, I will give it to you, and to your seed after you will I give the land."12 And the land that I gave Abraham and Isaac, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed after thee will I give the land.
Then God went up from him in the place where He had spoken with him.13 And God went up from him in the place where he talked with him.13 Then God went up from him at the place where he had spoken with him.13 God went up from him in the place where he spoke with him.13 And God went up from him in the place where he had talked with him.
Jacob set up a pillar in the place where He had spoken with him, a pillar of stone, and he poured out a drink offering on it; he also poured oil on it.14 And Jacob set up a pillar in the place where he talked with him, even a pillar of stone: and he poured a drink offering thereon, and he poured oil thereon.14 So Jacob set up a memorial, a stone marker, to mark the place where God had spoken with him. He poured a wine offering and olive oil on it.14 Jacob set up a pillar in the place where he spoke with him, a pillar of stone. He poured out a drink offering on it, and poured oil on it.14 And Jacob set up a pillar in the place where he had talked with him, a pillar of stone, and poured on it a drink-offering, and poured oil on it.
So Jacob named the place where God had spoken with him, Bethel.15 And Jacob called the name of the place where God spake with him, Bethel.15 Jacob named the place where God had spoken with him Bethel [House of God].15 Jacob called the name of the place where God spoke with him "Bethel."15 And Jacob called the name of the place where God had talked with him, Beth-el.

Then they journeyed from Bethel; and when there was still some distance to go to Ephrath, Rachel began to give birth and she suffered severe labor.16 And they journeyed from Bethel; and there was but a little way to come to Ephrath: and Rachel travailed, and she had hard labor.16 Then they moved on from Bethel. When they were still some distance from Ephrath, Rachel went into labor and was having severe labor pains.16 They traveled from Bethel. There was still some distance to come to Ephrath, and Rachel travailed. She had hard labor.16 And they journeyed from Bethel. And there was yet a certain distance to come to Ephrath, when Rachel travailed in childbirth; and it went hard with her in her childbearing.
When she was in severe labor the midwife said to her, "Do not fear, for now you have another son."17 And it came to pass, when she was in hard labor, that the midwife said unto her, Fear not; thou shalt have this son also.17 During one of her pains, the midwife said to her, "Don't be afraid! You're having another son!"17 When she was in hard labor, the midwife said to her, "Don't be afraid, for now you will have another son."17 And it came to pass when it went hard with her in her childbearing, that the midwife said to her, Fear not; for this also is a son for thee.
It came about as her soul was departing (for she died), that she named him Ben-oni; but his father called him Benjamin.18 And it came to pass, as her soul was in departing, (for she died) that she called his name Benoni: but his father called him Benjamin.18 Rachel was dying. As she took her last breath, she named her son Benoni [Son of My Sorrow], but his father named him Benjamin [Son of My Right Hand].18 It happened, as her soul was departing (for she died), that she named him Benoni, but his father named him Benjamin.18 And it came to pass as her soul was departing for she died that she called his name Benoni; but his father called him Benjamin.
So Rachel died and was buried on the way to Ephrath (that is, Bethlehem).19 And Rachel died, and was buried in the way to Ephrath, which is Bethlehem.19 Rachel died and was buried on the way to Ephrath (that is, Bethlehem).19 Rachel died, and was buried in the way to Ephrath (the same is Bethlehem).19 And Rachel died, and was buried on the way to Ephrath, which is Bethlehem.
Jacob set up a pillar over her grave; that is the pillar of Rachel's grave to this day.20 And Jacob set a pillar upon her grave: that is the pillar of Rachel's grave unto this day.20 Then Jacob set up a stone as a marker for her grave. The same marker is at Rachel's grave today.20 Jacob set up a pillar on her grave. The same is the Pillar of Rachel's grave to this day.20 And Jacob erected a pillar upon her grave: that is the pillar of Rachel's grave to this day.
