Gods Final Word in His Son | ||||
NASB | KJV | GWT | WEB | DBY |
1 God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, | 1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, | 1 In the past God spoke to our ancestors at many different times and in many different ways through the prophets. | 1 God, having in the past spoken to the fathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, | 1 God having spoken in many parts and in many ways formerly to the fathers in the prophets, | 2 in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. | 2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; | 2 In these last days he has spoken to us through his Son. God made his Son responsible for everything. His Son is the one through whom God made the universe. | 2 has at the end of these days spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the worlds. | 2 at the end of these days has spoken to us in the person of the Son, whom he has established heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; | 3 And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, | 3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high: | 3 His Son is the reflection of God's glory and the exact likeness of God's being. He holds everything together through his powerful words. After he had cleansed people from their sins, he received the highest position, the one next to the Father in heaven. | 3 His Son is the radiance of his glory, the very image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself made purification for our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; | 3 who being the effulgence of his glory and the expression of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, having made by himself the purification of sins, set himself down on the right hand of the greatness on high, | 4 having become as much better than the angels, as He has inherited a more excellent name than they. | 4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. | 4 The Son has become greater than the angels since he has been given a name that is superior to theirs. | 4 having become so much better than the angels, as he has inherited a more excellent name than they have. | 4 taking a place by so much better than the angels, as he inherits a name more excellent than they. | 5 For to which of the angels did He ever say, "YOU ARE MY SON, TODAY I HAVE BEGOTTEN YOU"? And again, "I WILL BE A FATHER TO HIM AND HE SHALL BE A SON TO ME"? | 5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? | 5 God never said to any of his angels, "You are my Son. Today I have become your Father." And God never said to any of his angels, "I will be his Father, and he will be my Son." | 5 For to which of the angels did he say at any time, "You are my Son. Today have I become your father?" and again, "I will be to him a Father, and he will be to me a Son?" | 5 For to which of the angels said he ever, Thou art my Son: this day have I begotten thee? and again, I will be to him for father, and he shall be to me for son? | NASB | KJV | GWT | WEB | DBY |
6 And when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says, "AND LET ALL THE ANGELS OF GOD WORSHIP HIM." | 6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him. | 6 When God was about to send his firstborn Son into the world, he said, "All of God's angels must worship him." | 6 Again, when he brings in the firstborn into the world he says, "Let all the angels of God worship him." | 6 and again, when he brings in the firstborn into the habitable world, he says, And let all God's angels worship him. | 7 And of the angels He says, "WHO MAKES HIS ANGELS WINDS, AND HIS MINISTERS A FLAME OF FIRE." | 7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire. | 7 God said about the angels, "He makes his messengers winds. He makes his servants flames of fire." | 7 Of the angels he says, "Who makes his angels winds, and his servants a flame of fire." | 7 And as to the angels he says, Who makes his angels spirits and his ministers a flame of fire; | 8 But of the Son He says, "YOUR THRONE, O GOD, IS FOREVER AND EVER, AND THE RIGHTEOUS SCEPTER IS THE SCEPTER OF HIS KINGDOM. | 8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. | 8 But God said about his Son, "Your throne, O God, is forever and ever. The scepter in your kingdom is a scepter for justice. | 8 But of the Son he says, "Your throne, O God, is forever and ever. The scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your Kingdom. | 8 but as to the Son, Thy throne, O God, is to the age of the age, and a sceptre of uprightness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. | 9 "YOU HAVE LOVED RIGHTEOUSNESS AND HATED LAWLESSNESS; THEREFORE GOD, YOUR GOD, HAS ANOINTED YOU WITH THE OIL OF GLADNESS ABOVE YOUR COMPANIONS." | 9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. | 9 You have loved what is right and hated what is wrong. That is why God, your God, anointed you, rather than your companions, with the oil of joy." | 9 You have loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness above your fellows." | 9 Thou hast loved righteousness and hast hated lawlessness; therefore God, thy God, has anointed thee with oil of gladness above thy companions. | 10 And, "YOU, LORD, IN THE BEGINNING LAID THE FOUNDATION OF THE EARTH, AND THE HEAVENS ARE THE WORKS OF YOUR HANDS; | 10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands: | 10 God also said, "Lord, in the beginning you laid the foundation of the earth. With your own hands you made the heavens. | 10 And, "You, Lord, in the beginning, laid the foundation of the earth. The heavens are the works of your hands. | 10 And, Thou in the beginning, Lord, hast founded the earth, and works of thy hands are the heavens. | NASB | KJV | GWT | WEB | DBY |
11 THEY WILL PERISH, BUT YOU REMAIN; AND THEY ALL WILL BECOME OLD LIKE A GARMENT, | 11 They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment; | 11 They will come to an end, but you will live forever. They will all wear out like clothes. | 11 They will perish, but you continue. They all will grow old like a garment does. | 11 They shall perish, but thou continuest still; and they all shall grow old as a garment, | 12 AND LIKE A MANTLE YOU WILL ROLL THEM UP; LIKE A GARMENT THEY WILL ALSO BE CHANGED. BUT YOU ARE THE SAME, AND YOUR YEARS WILL NOT COME TO AN END." | 12 And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail. | 12 They will be taken off like a coat. You will change them like clothes. But you remain the same, and your life will never end. | 12 As a mantle, you will roll them up, and they will be changed; but you are the same. Your years will not fail." | 12 and as a covering shalt thou roll them up, and they shall be changed; but thou art the Same, and thy years shall not fail. | 13 But to which of the angels has He ever said, "SIT AT MY RIGHT HAND, UNTIL I MAKE YOUR ENEMIES A FOOTSTOOL FOR YOUR FEET "? | 13 But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool? | 13 But God never said to any of the angels, "Sit in the highest position in heaven until I make your enemies your footstool." | 13 But which of the angels has he told at any time, "Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies the footstool of your feet?" | 13 But as to which of the angels said he ever, Sit at my right hand until I put thine enemies as footstool of thy feet? | 14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out to render service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation? | 14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation? | 14 What are all the angels? They are spirits sent to serve those who are going to receive salvation. | 14 Aren't they all serving spirits, sent out to do service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation? | 14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out for service on account of those who shall inherit salvation? |
