Give Heed
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
1 For this reason we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away from it.1 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.1 For this reason we must pay closer attention to what we have heard. Then we won't drift away [from the truth].1 Therefore we ought to pay greater attention to the things that were heard, lest perhaps we drift away.1 For this reason we should give heed more abundantly to the things we have heard, lest in any way we should slip away.
2 For if the word spoken through angels proved unalterable, and every transgression and disobedience received a just penalty,2 For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;2 After all, the message that the angels brought was reliable, and every violation and act of disobedience was properly punished.2 For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense;2 For if the word which was spoken by angels was firm, and every transgression and disobedience received just retribution,
3 how will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation? After it was at the first spoken through the Lord, it was confirmed to us by those who heard,3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;3 So how will we escape punishment if we reject the important message, the message that God saved us? First, the Lord told this saving message. Then those who heard him confirmed that message.3 how will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation--which at the first having been spoken through the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard;3 how shall we escape if we have been negligent of so great salvation, which, having had its commencement in being spoken of by the Lord, has been confirmed to us by those who have heard;
4 God also testifying with them, both by signs and wonders and by various miracles and by gifts of the Holy Spirit according to His own will.4 God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?4 God verified what they said through miraculous signs, amazing things, other powerful acts, and with other gifts from the Holy Spirit as he wanted.4 God also testifying with them, both by signs and wonders, by various works of power, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to his own will?4 God bearing, besides, witness with them to it, both by signs and wonders, and various acts of power, and distributions of the Holy Spirit, according to his will?
Earth Subject to Man
5 For He did not subject to angels the world to come, concerning which we are speaking.5 For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak.5 He didn't put the world that will come (about which we are talking) under the angels' control.5 For he didn't subject the world to come, of which we speak, to angels.5 For he has not subjected to angels the habitable world which is to come, of which we speak;
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
6 But one has testified somewhere, saying, "WHAT IS MAN, THAT YOU REMEMBER HIM? OR THE SON OF MAN, THAT YOU ARE CONCERNED ABOUT HIM?6 But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man that thou visitest him?6 Instead, someone has declared this somewhere in Scripture: "What is a mortal that you should remember him, or the Son of Man that you take care of him? 6 But one has somewhere testified, saying, "What is man, that you think of him? Or the son of man, that you care for him?6 but one has testified somewhere, saying, What is man, that thou rememberest him, or son of man that thou visitest him?
7 "YOU HAVE MADE HIM FOR A LITTLE WHILE LOWER THAN THE ANGELS; YOU HAVE CROWNED HIM WITH GLORY AND HONOR, AND HAVE APPOINTED HIM OVER THE WORKS OF YOUR HANDS;7 Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands:7 You made him a little lower than the angels. You crowned him with glory and honor.7 You made him a little lower than the angels. You crowned him with glory and honor.7 Thou hast made him some little inferior to the angels; thou hast crowned him with glory and honour, and hast set him over the works of thy hands;
8 YOU HAVE PUT ALL THINGS IN SUBJECTION UNDER HIS FEET." For in subjecting all things to him, He left nothing that is not subject to him. But now we do not yet see all things subjected to him.8 Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.8 You put everything under his control." When God put everything under his Son's control, nothing was left out. However, at the present time we still don't see everything under his Son's control.8 You have put all things in subjection under his feet." For in that he subjected all things to him, he left nothing that is not subject to him. But now we don't see all things subjected to him, yet.8 thou hast subjected all things under his feet. For in subjecting all things to him, he has left nothing unsubject to him. But now we see not yet all things subjected to him,
Jesus Briefly Humbled
9 But we do see Him who was made for a little while lower than the angels, namely, Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone.9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.9 Jesus was made a little lower than the angels, but we see him crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death. Through God's kindness he died on behalf of everyone. 9 But we see him who has been made a little lower than the angels, Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that by the grace of God he should taste of death for everyone.9 but we see Jesus, who was made some little inferior to angels on account of the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; so that by the grace of God he should taste death for every thing.
10 For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to perfect the author of their salvation through sufferings.10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.10 God is the one for whom and through whom everything exists. Therefore, while God was bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was the right time to bring Jesus, the source of their salvation, to the end of his work through suffering.10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many children to glory, to make the author of their salvation perfect through sufferings.10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make perfect the leader of their salvation through sufferings.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
11 For both He who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from one Father; for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren,11 For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,11 Jesus, who makes people holy, and all those who are made holy have the same Father. That is why Jesus isn't ashamed to call them brothers and sisters.11 For both he who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from one, for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brothers,11 For both he that sanctifies and those sanctified are all of one; for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,
12 saying, "I WILL PROCLAIM YOUR NAME TO MY BRETHREN, IN THE MIDST OF THE CONGREGATION I WILL SING YOUR PRAISE."12 Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.12 He says, "I will tell my people about your name. I will praise you within the congregation."12 saying, "I will declare your name to my brothers. In the midst of the congregation I will sing your praise."12 saying, I will declare thy name to my brethren; in the midst of the assembly will I sing thy praises.
13 And again, "I WILL PUT MY TRUST IN HIM." And again, "BEHOLD, I AND THE CHILDREN WHOM GOD HAS GIVEN ME."13 And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me.13 In addition, Jesus says, "I will trust him." And Jesus says, "I am here with the sons and daughters God has given me."13 Again, "I will put my trust in him." Again, "Behold, here I am with the children whom God has given me."13 And again, I will trust in him. And again, Behold, I and the children which God has given me.
14 Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;14 Since all of these sons and daughters have flesh and blood, Jesus took on flesh and blood to be like them. He did this so that by dying he would destroy the one who had power over death (that is, the devil).14 Since then the children have shared in flesh and blood, he also himself in the same way partook of the same, that through death he might bring to nothing him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,14 Since therefore the children partake of blood and flesh, he also, in like manner, took part in the same, that through death he might annul him who has the might of death, that is, the devil;
15 and might free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives.15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.15 In this way he would free those who were slaves all their lives because they were afraid of dying.15 and might deliver all of them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.15 and might set free all those who through fear of death through the whole of their life were subject to bondage.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
16 For assuredly He does not give help to angels, but He gives help to the descendant of Abraham.16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.16 So Jesus helps Abraham's descendants rather than helping angels.16 For most certainly, he doesn't give help to angels, but he gives help to the seed of Abraham.16 For he does not indeed take hold of angels by the hand, but he takes hold of the seed of Abraham.
17 Therefore, He had to be made like His brethren in all things, so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.17 Therefore, he had to become like his brothers and sisters so that he could be merciful. He became like them so that he could serve as a faithful chief priest in God's presence and make peace with God for their sins.17 Therefore he was obligated in all things to be made like his brothers, that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make atonement for the sins of the people.17 Wherefore it behoved him in all things to be made like to his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things relating to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people;
18 For since He Himself was tempted in that which He has suffered, He is able to come to the aid of those who are tempted.18 For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.18 Because Jesus experienced temptation when he suffered, he is able to help others when they are tempted.18 For in that he himself has suffered being tempted, he is able to help those who are tempted.18 for, in that himself has suffered, being tempted, he is able to help those that are being tempted.
