The Wiles of the Harlot
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 My son, keep my words And treasure my commandments within you.1 My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.1 My son, pay attention to my words. Treasure my commands that are within you.1 My son, keep my words. Lay up my commandments within you.1 My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.
 Keep my commandments and live, And my teaching as the apple of your eye.2 Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.2 Obey my commands so that you may live. Follow my teachings just as you protect the pupil of your eye.2 Keep my commandments and live! Guard my teaching as the apple of your eye.2 Keep my commandments, and live; and my teaching, as the apple of thine eye.
 Bind them on your fingers; Write them on the tablet of your heart.3 Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.3 Tie them on your fingers. Write them on the tablet of your heart.3 Bind them on your fingers. Write them on the tablet of your heart.3 Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the tablet of thy heart.
 Say to wisdom, "You are my sister," And call understanding your intimate friend;4 Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman:4 Say to wisdom, "You are my sister." Give the name "my relative" to understanding4 Tell wisdom, "You are my sister." Call understanding your relative,4 Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister, and call intelligence thy kinswoman:
 That they may keep you from an adulteress, From the foreigner who flatters with her words.5 That they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger which flattereth with her words.5 in order to guard yourself from an adulterous woman, from a loose woman with her smooth talk.5 that they may keep you from the strange woman, from the foreigner who flatters with her words.5 that they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger who flattereth with her words.

 For at the window of my house I looked out through my lattice,6 For at the window of my house I looked through my casement,6 From a window in my house I looked through my screen.6 For at the window of my house, I looked out through my lattice.6 For at the window of my house, I looked forth through my lattice,
 And I saw among the naive, And discerned among the youths A young man lacking sense,7 And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding,7 I was looking at gullible people when I saw a young man without much sense among youths.7 I saw among the simple ones. I discerned among the youths a young man void of understanding,7 and I beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the sons, a young man void of understanding,
 Passing through the street near her corner; And he takes the way to her house,8 Passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house,8 He was crossing a street near her corner and walking toward her house8 passing through the street near her corner, he went the way to her house,8 passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house,
 In the twilight, in the evening, In the middle of the night and in the darkness.9 In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night:9 in the twilight, in the evening, in the dark hours of the night.9 in the twilight, in the evening of the day, in the middle of the night and in the darkness.9 in the twilight, in the evening of the day, in the blackness of night and the darkness.
 And behold, a woman comes to meet him, Dressed as a harlot and cunning of heart.10 And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart.10 A woman with an ulterior motive meets him. She is dressed as a prostitute.10 Behold, there a woman met him with the attire of a prostitute, and with crafty intent.10 And behold, there met him a woman in the attire of a harlot, and subtle of heart.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 She is boisterous and rebellious, Her feet do not remain at home;11 (She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house:11 She is loud and rebellious. Her feet will not stay at home.11 She is loud and defiant. Her feet don't stay in her house.11 She is clamorous and unmanageable; her feet abide not in her house:
 She is now in the streets, now in the squares, And lurks by every corner.12 Now is she without, now in the streets, and lieth in wait at every corner.)12 One moment she is out on the street, the next she is at the curb, on the prowl at every corner.12 Now she is in the streets, now in the squares, and lurking at every corner.12 now without, now in the broadways, and she lieth in wait at every corner.
 So she seizes him and kisses him And with a brazen face she says to him:13 So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said unto him,13 She grabs him and kisses him and brazenly says to him,13 So she caught him, and kissed him. With an impudent face she said to him:13 And she caught him and kissed him, and with an impudent face said unto him,
 "I was due to offer peace offerings; Today I have paid my vows.14 I have peace offerings with me; this day have I payed my vows.14 "I have some sacrificial meat. Today I kept my vows.14 "Sacrifices of peace offerings are with me. This day I have paid my vows.14 I have peace-offerings with me; this day have I paid my vows:
 "Therefore I have come out to meet you, To seek your presence earnestly, and I have found you.15 Therefore came I forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee.15 That's why I came to meet you. Eagerly, I looked for you, and I've found you.15 Therefore I came out to meet you, to diligently seek your face, and I have found you.15 therefore came I forth to meet thee, to seek earnestly thy face, and I have found thee.

 "I have spread my couch with coverings, With colored linens of Egypt.16 I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved works, with fine linen of Egypt.16 I've made my bed, with colored sheets of Egyptian linen.16 I have spread my couch with carpets of tapestry, with striped cloths of the yarn of Egypt.16 I have decked my bed with tapestry coverlets of variegated linen from Egypt;
 "I have sprinkled my bed With myrrh, aloes and cinnamon.17 I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.17 I've sprinkled my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.17 I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.17 I have perfumed my couch with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.
 "Come, let us drink our fill of love until morning; Let us delight ourselves with caresses.18 Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with loves.18 Come, let's drink our fill of love until morning. Let's enjoy making love,18 Come, let's take our fill of loving until the morning. Let's solace ourselves with loving.18 Come, let us revel in love until the morning, let us delight ourselves with loves.
 "For my husband is not at home, He has gone on a long journey;19 For the goodman is not at home, he is gone a long journey:19 because my husband's not home. He has gone on a long trip.19 For my husband isn't at home. He has gone on a long journey.19 For the husband is not at home, he is gone a long journey;
 He has taken a bag of money with him, At the full moon he will come home."20 He hath taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed.20 He took lots of money with him. He won't be home for a couple of weeks."20 He has taken a bag of money with him. He will come home at the full moon."20 he hath taken the money-bag with him, he will come home on the day of the full moon.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 With her many persuasions she entices him; With her flattering lips she seduces him.21 With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him.21 With all her seductive charms, she persuades him. With her smooth lips, she makes him give in.21 With persuasive words, she led him astray. With the flattering of her lips, she seduced him.21 With her much enticement she beguiled him; with the smoothness of her lips she constrained him.
 Suddenly he follows her As an ox goes to the slaughter, Or as one in fetters to the discipline of a fool,22 He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;22 He immediately follows her like a steer on its way to be slaughtered, like a ram hobbling into captivity 22 He followed her immediately, as an ox goes to the slaughter, as a fool stepping into a noose.22 He went after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, and as stocks serve for the correction of the fool;
 Until an arrow pierces through his liver; As a bird hastens to the snare, So he does not know that it will cost him his life.23 Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life.23 until an arrow pierces his heart, like a bird darting into a trap. He does not realize that it will cost him his life.23 Until an arrow strikes through his liver, as a bird hurries to the snare, and doesn't know that it will cost his life.23 till an arrow strike through his liver: as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for its life.
 Now therefore, my sons, listen to me, And pay attention to the words of my mouth.24 Hearken unto me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth.24 Now, sons, listen to me. Pay attention to the words from my mouth.24 Now therefore, sons, listen to me. Pay attention to the words of my mouth.24 And now, ye sons, hearken unto me, and attend to the words of my mouth.
 Do not let your heart turn aside to her ways, Do not stray into her paths.25 Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.25 Do not let your heart be turned to her ways. Do not wander onto her paths,25 Don't let your heart turn to her ways. Don't go astray in her paths,25 Let not thy heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths:
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 For many are the victims she has cast down, And numerous are all her slain.26 For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her.26 because she has brought down many victims, and she has killed all too many.26 for she has thrown down many wounded. Yes, all her slain are a mighty army.26 for she hath cast down many wounded, and all slain by her were strong.
 Her house is the way to Sheol, Descending to the chambers of death.27 Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.27 Her home is the way to hell and leads to the darkest vaults of death.27 Her house is the way to Sheol, going down to the rooms of death.27 Her house is the way to Sheol, going down to the chambers of death.
