Prayer for the LORD’S Help.A Song of Ascents.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
1 A Song of Ascents. To You I lift up my eyes, O You who are enthroned in the heavens!1 Unto thee lift I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens.1 [A song for going up to worship.] I look up to you, to the one who sits enthroned in heaven.1 To you I do lift up my eyes, you who sit in the heavens.1 {A Song of degrees.} Unto thee do I lift up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens.
2 Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, As the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress, So our eyes look to the LORD our God, Until He is gracious to us.2 Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the LORD our God, until that he have mercy upon us.2 As servants depend on their masters, as a maid depends on her mistress, so we depend on the LORD our God until he has pity on us.2 Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress; so our eyes look to Yahweh, our God, until he has mercy on us.2 Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress, so our eyes are directed to Jehovah our God, until he be gracious unto us.
3 Be gracious to us, O LORD, be gracious to us, For we are greatly filled with contempt.3 Have mercy upon us, O LORD, have mercy upon us: for we are exceedingly filled with contempt.3 Have pity on us, O LORD. Have pity on us because we have suffered more than our share of contempt.3 Have mercy on us, Yahweh, have mercy on us, for we have endured much contempt.3 Be gracious unto us, O Jehovah, be gracious unto us; for we are exceedingly filled with contempt.
4 Our soul is greatly filled With the scoffing of those who are at ease, And with the contempt of the proud.4 Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those that are at ease, and with the contempt of the proud.4 We have suffered more than our share of ridicule from those who are carefree. We have suffered more than our share of contempt from those who are arrogant.4 Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scoffing of those who are at ease, with the contempt of the proud. A Song of Ascents. By David.4 Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those that are at ease, with the contempt of the proud.
