Prayer for the Overthrow of Zion’s Enemies.A Song of Ascents.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
1 A Song of Ascents. "Many times they have persecuted me from my youth up," Let Israel now say,1 Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth, may Israel now say:1 [A song for going up to worship.] "From the time I was young, people have attacked me..." (Israel should repeat this.)1 Many times they have afflicted me from my youth up. Let Israel now say,1 {A Song of degrees.} Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth oh let Israel say --
2 "Many times they have persecuted me from my youth up; Yet they have not prevailed against me.2 Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth: yet they have not prevailed against me.2 "From the time I was young, people have attacked me, but they have never overpowered me.2 many times they have afflicted me from my youth up, yet they have not prevailed against me.2 Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth; yet they have not prevailed against me.
3 "The plowers plowed upon my back; They lengthened their furrows."3 The plowers plowed upon my back: they made long their furrows.3 They have plowed my back [like farmers plow fields]. They made long slashes [like furrows]."3 The plowers plowed on my back. They made their furrows long.3 The ploughers ploughed upon my back; they made long their furrows.
4 The LORD is righteous; He has cut in two the cords of the wicked.4 The LORD is righteous: he hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked.4 The LORD is righteous. He has cut me loose from the ropes that wicked people tied around me.4 Yahweh is righteous. He has cut apart the cords of the wicked.4 Jehovah is righteous: he hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked.
5 May all who hate Zion Be put to shame and turned backward;5 Let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Zion.5 Put to shame all those who hate Zion. Force them to retreat.5 Let them be disappointed and turned backward, all those who hate Zion.5 Let them be ashamed and turned backward, all that hate Zion;
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
6 Let them be like grass upon the housetops, Which withers before it grows up;6 Let them be as the grass upon the housetops, which withereth afore it groweth up:6 Make them be like grass on a roof, like grass that dries up before it produces a stalk.6 Let them be as the grass on the housetops, which withers before it grows up;6 Let them be as the grass upon the house-tops, which withereth before it is plucked up,
7 With which the reaper does not fill his hand, Or the binder of sheaves his bosom;7 Wherewith the mower filleth not his hand; nor he that bindeth sheaves his bosom.7 It will never fill the barns of those who harvest or the arms of those who gather bundles.7 with which the reaper doesn't fill his hand, nor he who binds sheaves, his bosom.7 Wherewith the mower filleth not his hand, nor he that bindeth sheaves his bosom;
8 Nor do those who pass by say, "The blessing of the LORD be upon you; We bless you in the name of the LORD."8 Neither do they which go by say, The blessing of the LORD be upon you: we bless you in the name of the LORD.8 Those who pass by will never say [to them], "May you be blessed by the LORD" or "We bless you in the name of the LORD."8 Neither do those who go by say, "The blessing of Yahweh be on you. We bless you in the name of Yahweh." A Song of Ascents.8 Neither do the passers-by say, The blessing of Jehovah be upon you; we bless you in the name of Jehovah!
