BOOK 2Thirsting for God in Trouble and Exile. For the choir director. A Maskil of the sons of Korah.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
For the choir director. A Maskil of the sons of Korah. As the deer pants for the water brooks, So my soul pants for You, O God.1 As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.1 [For the choir director; a [maskil] by Korah's descendants.] As a deer longs for flowing streams, so my soul longs for you, O God. 1 As the deer pants for the water brooks, so my soul pants after you, God.1 {To the chief Musician. An instruction; of the sons of Korah.} As the hart panteth after the water-brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.
My soul thirsts for God, for the living God; When shall I come and appear before God?2 My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When may I come to see God's face?2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?2 My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?
My tears have been my food day and night, While they say to me all day long, "Where is your God?"3 My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God?3 My tears are my food day and night. People ask me all day long, "Where is your God?"3 My tears have been my food day and night, while they continually ask me, "Where is your God?"3 My tears have been my bread day and night, while they say unto me all the day, Where is thy God?
These things I remember and I pour out my soul within me. For I used to go along with the throng and lead them in procession to the house of God, With the voice of joy and thanksgiving, a multitude keeping festival.4 When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday.4 I will remember these things as I pour out my soul: how I used to walk with the crowd and lead it in a procession to God's house. [I sang] songs of joy and thanksgiving while crowds of people celebrated a festival.4 These things I remember, and pour out my soul within me, how I used to go with the crowd, and led them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, a multitude keeping a holy day.4 These things I remember and have poured out my soul within me: how I passed along with the multitude, how I went on with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, a festive multitude.
Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why have you become disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I shall again praise Him For the help of His presence.5 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.5 Why are you discouraged, my soul? Why are you so restless? Put your hope in God, because I will still praise him. He is my savior and my God.5 Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him for the saving help of his presence.5 Why art thou cast down, my soul, and art disquieted in me? hope in God; for I shall yet praise him, for the health of his countenance.

O my God, my soul is in despair within me; Therefore I remember You from the land of the Jordan And the peaks of Hermon, from Mount Mizar.6 O my God, my soul is cast down within me: therefore will I remember thee from the land of Jordan, and of the Hermonites, from the hill Mizar.6 My soul is discouraged. That is why I will remember you in the land of Jordan, on the peaks of Hermon, on Mount Mizar.6 My God, my soul is in despair within me. Therefore I remember you from the land of the Jordan, the heights of Hermon, from the hill Mizar.6 My God, my soul is cast down within me; therefore do I remember thee from the land of the Jordan, and the Hermons, from mount Mizar.
Deep calls to deep at the sound of Your waterfalls; All Your breakers and Your waves have rolled over me.7 Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.7 One deep sea calls to another at the roar of your waterspouts. All the whitecaps on your waves have swept over me. 7 Deep calls to deep at the noise of your waterfalls. All your waves and your billows have swept over me.7 Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy cataracts; all thy breakers and thy billows are gone over me.
The LORD will command His lovingkindness in the daytime; And His song will be with me in the night, A prayer to the God of my life.8 Yet the LORD will command his lovingkindness in the day time, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.8 The LORD commands his mercy during the day, and at night his song is with me- a prayer to the God of my life.8 Yahweh will command his loving kindness in the daytime. In the night his song shall be with me: a prayer to the God of my life.8 In the day-time will Jehovah command his loving-kindness, and in the night his song shall be with me, a prayer unto the God of my life.
I will say to God my rock, "Why have You forgotten me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?"9 I will say unto God my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?9 I will ask God, my rock, "Why have you forgotten me? Why must I walk around in mourning while the enemy oppresses me?"9 I will ask God, my rock, "Why have you forgotten me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?"9 I will say unto God my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
As a shattering of my bones, my adversaries revile me, While they say to me all day long, "Where is your God?"10 As with a sword in my bones, mine enemies reproach me; while they say daily unto me, Where is thy God?10 With a shattering blow to my bones, my enemies taunt me. They ask me all day long, "Where is your God?"10 As with a sword in my bones, my adversaries reproach me, while they continually ask me, "Where is your God?"10 As with a crushing in my bones mine adversaries reproach me, while they say unto me all the day, Where is thy God?
