Former Deliverances and Present Troubles.For the choir director. A Maskil of the sons of Korah.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 For the choir director. A Maskil of the sons of Korah. O God, we have heard with our ears, Our fathers have told us The work that You did in their days, In the days of old.1 We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work thou didst in their days, in the times of old.1 [For the choir director; a [maskil] by Korah's descendants.] O God, we have heard it with our own ears. Our ancestors have told us about the miracle you performed in their day, in days long ago.1 We have heard with our ears, God; our fathers have told us, what work you did in their days, in the days of old.1 {To the chief Musician. Of the sons of Korah. An instruction.} O God, with our ears have we heard, our fathers have told us, the work thou wroughtest in their days, in the days of old:
 You with Your own hand drove out the nations; Then You planted them; You afflicted the peoples, Then You spread them abroad.2 How thou didst drive out the heathen with thy hand, and plantedst them; how thou didst afflict the people, and cast them out.2 By your power you forced nations [out of the land], but you planted our ancestors [there]. You shattered many groups of people, but you set our ancestors free. 2 You drove out the nations with your hand, but you planted them. You afflicted the peoples, but you spread them abroad.2 Thou, by thy hand, didst dispossess the nations, but them thou didst plant; thou didst afflict the peoples, but them didst thou cause to spread out.
 For by their own sword they did not possess the land, And their own arm did not save them, But Your right hand and Your arm and the light of Your presence, For You favored them.3 For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them.3 It was not with their swords that they took possession of the land. They did not gain victory with their own strength. It was your right hand, your arm, and the light of your presence [that did it], because you were pleased with them.3 For they didn't get the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them; but your right hand, and your arm, and the light of your face, because you were favorable to them.3 For not by their own sword did they take possession of the land, neither did their own arm save them; but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst delight in them.
 You are my King, O God; Command victories for Jacob.4 Thou art my King, O God: command deliverances for Jacob.4 You alone are my king, O God. You won those victories for Jacob.4 You are my King, God. Command victories for Jacob!4 Thou thyself art my king, O God: command deliverance for Jacob.
 Through You we will push back our adversaries; Through Your name we will trample down those who rise up against us.5 Through thee will we push down our enemies: through thy name will we tread them under that rise up against us.5 With you we can walk over our enemies. With your name we can trample those who attack us.5 Through you, will we push down our adversaries. Through your name, will we tread them under who rise up against us.5 Through thee will we push down our adversaries; through thy name will we tread them under that rise up against us.

 For I will not trust in my bow, Nor will my sword save me.6 For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me.6 I do not rely on my bow, and my sword will never save me.6 For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me.6 For I will not put confidence in my bow, neither shall my sword save me.
 But You have saved us from our adversaries, And You have put to shame those who hate us.7 But thou hast saved us from our enemies, and hast put them to shame that hated us.7 But you saved us from our enemies. You put to shame those who hate us.7 But you have saved us from our adversaries, and have shamed those who hate us.7 For thou hast saved us from our adversaries, and hast put them to shame that hate us.
 In God we have boasted all day long, And we will give thanks to Your name forever. Selah.8 In God we boast all the day long, and praise thy name for ever. Selah.8 All day long we praise our God. We give thanks to you forever. [Selah]8 In God we have made our boast all day long, we will give thanks to your name forever. Selah.8 In God will we boast all the day, and we will praise thy name for ever. Selah.
 Yet You have rejected us and brought us to dishonor, And do not go out with our armies.9 But thou hast cast off, and put us to shame; and goest not forth with our armies.9 But now you have rejected and disgraced us. You do not even go along with our armies.9 But now you rejected us, and brought us to dishonor, and don't go out with our armies.9 But thou hast cast off, and put us to confusion, and dost not go forth with our armies;
 You cause us to turn back from the adversary; And those who hate us have taken spoil for themselves.10 Thou makest us to turn back from the enemy: and they which hate us spoil for themselves.10 You make us retreat from the enemy. Those who hate us rob us at will.10 You make us turn back from the adversary. Those who hate us take spoil for themselves.10 Thou hast made us to turn back from the adversary, and they that hate us spoil for themselves;
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 You give us as sheep to be eaten And have scattered us among the nations.11 Thou hast given us like sheep appointed for meat; and hast scattered us among the heathen.11 You hand us over to be butchered like sheep and scatter us among the nations.11 You have made us like sheep for food, and have scattered us among the nations.11 Thou hast given us over like sheep appointed for meat, and hast scattered us among the nations;
 You sell Your people cheaply, And have not profited by their sale.12 Thou sellest thy people for nought, and dost not increase thy wealth by their price.12 You sell your people for almost nothing, and at that price you have gained nothing.12 You sell your people for nothing, and have gained nothing from their sale.12 Thou hast sold thy people for nought, and hast not increased thy wealth by their price;
 You make us a reproach to our neighbors, A scoffing and a derision to those around us.13 Thou makest us a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and a derision to them that are round about us.13 You made us a disgrace to our neighbors and an object of ridicule and contempt to those around us.13 You make us a reproach to our neighbors, a scoffing and a derision to those who are around us.13 Thou makest us a reproach to our neighbours, a mockery and a derision for them that are round about us;
 You make us a byword among the nations, A laughingstock among the peoples.14 Thou makest us a byword among the heathen, a shaking of the head among the people.14 You made our [defeat] a proverb among the nations so that people shake their heads at us.14 You make us a byword among the nations, a shaking of the head among the peoples.14 Thou makest us a byword among the nations, a shaking of the head among the peoples.
 All day long my dishonor is before me And my humiliation has overwhelmed me,15 My confusion is continually before me, and the shame of my face hath covered me,15 All day long my disgrace is in front of me. Shame covers my face15 All day long my dishonor is before me, and shame covers my face,15 All the day my confusion is before me, and the shame of my face hath covered me,

 Because of the voice of him who reproaches and reviles, Because of the presence of the enemy and the avenger.16 For the voice of him that reproacheth and blasphemeth; by reason of the enemy and avenger.16 because of the words of those who insult and slander us, because of the presence of the enemy and the avenger.16 At the taunt of one who reproaches and verbally abuses, because of the enemy and the avenger.16 Because of the voice of him that reproacheth and blasphemeth; by reason of the enemy and the avenger.
 All this has come upon us, but we have not forgotten You, And we have not dealt falsely with Your covenant.17 All this is come upon us; yet have we not forgotten thee, neither have we dealt falsely in thy covenant.17 Although all of this happened to us, we never forgot you. We never ignored your promise. 17 All this has come on us, yet have we not forgotten you, Neither have we been false to your covenant.17 All this is come upon us; yet have we not forgotten thee, neither have we dealt falsely against thy covenant:
 Our heart has not turned back, And our steps have not deviated from Your way,18 Our heart is not turned back, neither have our steps declined from thy way;18 Our hearts never turned away. Our feet never left your path.18 Our heart has not turned back, neither have our steps strayed from your path,18 Our heart is not turned back, neither have our steps declined from thy path;
 Yet You have crushed us in a place of jackals And covered us with the shadow of death.19 Though thou hast sore broken us in the place of dragons, and covered us with the shadow of death.19 Yet, you crushed us in a place for jackals and covered us with the shadow of death.19 Though you have crushed us in the haunt of jackals, and covered us with the shadow of death.19 Though thou hast crushed us in the place of jackals, and covered us with the shadow of death.
 If we had forgotten the name of our God Or extended our hands to a strange god,20 If we have forgotten the name of our God, or stretched out our hands to a strange god;20 If we forgot the name of our God or stretched out our hands to pray to another god,20 If we have forgotten the name of our God, or spread forth our hands to a strange god;20 If we had forgotten the name of our God, and stretched out our hands to a strange god,

 Would not God find this out? For He knows the secrets of the heart.21 Shall not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart.21 wouldn't God find out, since he knows the secrets in our hearts?21 won't God search this out? For he knows the secrets of the heart.21 Would not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart.
 But for Your sake we are killed all day long; We are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.22 Yea, for thy sake are we killed all the day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter.22 Indeed, we are being killed all day long because of you. We are thought of as sheep to be slaughtered.22 Yes, for your sake we are killed all day long. We are regarded as sheep for the slaughter.22 But for thy sake are we killed all the day long; we are reckoned as sheep for slaughter.
 Arouse Yourself, why do You sleep, O Lord? Awake, do not reject us forever.23 Awake, why sleepest thou, O Lord? arise, cast us not off for ever.23 Wake up! Why are you sleeping, O Lord? Awake! Do not reject us forever!23 Wake up! Why do you sleep, Lord? Arise! Don't reject us forever.23 Awake, why sleepest thou, Lord? arise, cast us not off for ever.
 Why do You hide Your face And forget our affliction and our oppression?24 Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and forgettest our affliction and our oppression?24 Why do you hide your face? Why do you forget our suffering and misery?24 Why do you hide your face, and forget our affliction and our oppression?24 Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and forgettest our affliction and our oppression?
 For our soul has sunk down into the dust; Our body cleaves to the earth.25 For our soul is bowed down to the dust: our belly cleaveth unto the earth.25 Our souls are bowing in the dust. Our bodies cling to the ground.25 For our soul is bowed down to the dust. Our body clings to the earth.25 For our soul is bowed down to the dust; our belly cleaveth unto the earth.
