The LORD Implored to Avenge His People.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
1 O LORD, God of vengeance, God of vengeance, shine forth!1 O Lord God, to whom vengeance belongeth; O God, to whom vengeance belongeth, shew thyself.1 O LORD, God of vengeance, O God of vengeance, appear!1 Yahweh, you God to whom vengeance belongs, you God to whom vengeance belongs, shine forth.1 O God of vengeances, Jehovah, God of vengeances, shine forth;
2 Rise up, O Judge of the earth, Render recompense to the proud.2 Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth: render a reward to the proud.2 Arise, O Judge of the earth. Give arrogant people what they deserve.2 Rise up, you judge of the earth. Pay back the proud what they deserve.2 Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth, render the reward to the proud.
3 How long shall the wicked, O LORD, How long shall the wicked exult?3 LORD, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph?3 How long, O LORD, will wicked people triumph? How long?3 Yahweh, how long will the wicked, how long will the wicked triumph?3 How long shall the wicked, O Jehovah, how long shall the wicked triumph?
4 They pour forth words, they speak arrogantly; All who do wickedness vaunt themselves.4 How long shall they utter and speak hard things? and all the workers of iniquity boast themselves?4 They ramble. They speak arrogantly. All troublemakers brag about themselves.4 They pour out arrogant words. All the evildoers boast.4 How long shall they utter and speak insolence all the workers of iniquity boast themselves?
5 They crush Your people, O LORD, And afflict Your heritage.5 They break in pieces thy people, O LORD, and afflict thine heritage.5 They crush your people, O LORD. They make those who belong to you suffer.5 They break your people in pieces, Yahweh, and afflict your heritage.5 They crush thy people, O Jehovah, and afflict thine inheritance;
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
6 They slay the widow and the stranger And murder the orphans.6 They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless.6 They kill widows and foreigners, and they murder orphans.6 They kill the widow and the alien, and murder the fatherless.6 They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless,
7 They have said, "The LORD does not see, Nor does the God of Jacob pay heed."7 Yet they say, The LORD shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob regard it.7 They say, "The LORD doesn't see it. The God of Jacob doesn't even pay attention to it."7 They say, "Yah will not see, neither will Jacob's God consider."7 And say, Jah will not see, neither will the God of Jacob regard it.
8 Pay heed, you senseless among the people; And when will you understand, stupid ones?8 Understand, ye brutish among the people: and ye fools, when will ye be wise?8 Pay attention, you stupid people! When will you become wise, you fools?8 Consider, you senseless among the people; you fools, when will you be wise?8 Understand, ye brutish among the people; and ye fools, when will ye be wise?
9 He who planted the ear, does He not hear? He who formed the eye, does He not see?9 He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see?9 God created ears. Do you think he can't hear? He formed eyes. Do you think he can't see?9 He who implanted the ear, won't he hear? He who formed the eye, won't he see?9 He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? He that formed the eye, shall he not see?
10 He who chastens the nations, will He not rebuke, Even He who teaches man knowledge?10 He that chastiseth the heathen, shall not he correct? he that teacheth man knowledge, shall not he know?10 He disciplines nations. Do you think he can't punish? He teaches people. Do you think he doesn't know anything?10 He who disciplines the nations, won't he punish? He who teaches man knows.10 He that instructeth the nations, shall not he correct he that teacheth man knowledge?
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
11 The LORD knows the thoughts of man, That they are a mere breath.11 The LORD knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.11 The LORD knows that people's thoughts are pointless.11 Yahweh knows the thoughts of man, that they are futile.11 Jehovah knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.
12 Blessed is the man whom You chasten, O LORD, And whom You teach out of Your law;12 Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O LORD, and teachest him out of thy law;12 O LORD, blessed is the person whom you discipline and instruct from your teachings.12 Blessed is the man whom you discipline, Yah, and teach out of your law;12 Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Jah, and whom thou teachest out of thy law;
13 That You may grant him relief from the days of adversity, Until a pit is dug for the wicked.13 That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be digged for the wicked.13 You give him peace and quiet from times of trouble while a pit is dug to trap wicked people.13 that you may give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit is dug for the wicked.13 That thou mayest give him rest from the days of evil, until the pit be digged for the wicked.
14 For the LORD will not abandon His people, Nor will He forsake His inheritance.14 For the LORD will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance.14 The LORD will never desert his people or abandon those who belong to him.14 For Yahweh won't reject his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance.14 For Jehovah will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance;
15 For judgment will again be righteous, And all the upright in heart will follow it.15 But judgment shall return unto righteousness: and all the upright in heart shall follow it.15 The decisions of judges will again become fair, and everyone whose motives are decent will pursue justice. 15 For judgment will return to righteousness. All the upright in heart shall follow it.15 For judgment shall return unto righteousness, and all the upright in heart shall follow it.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
16 Who will stand up for me against evildoers? Who will take his stand for me against those who do wickedness?16 Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?16 Who will stand up for me against evildoers? Who will stand by my side against troublemakers?16 Who will rise up for me against the wicked? Who will stand up for me against the evildoers?16 Who will rise up for me against the evil-doers? who will stand for me against the workers of iniquity?
17 If the LORD had not been my help, My soul would soon have dwelt in the abode of silence.17 Unless the LORD had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence.17 If the LORD had not come to help me, my soul would have quickly fallen silent [in death].17 Unless Yahweh had been my help, my soul would have soon lived in silence.17 If Jehovah had not been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence.
18 If I should say, "My foot has slipped," Your lovingkindness, O LORD, will hold me up.18 When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O LORD, held me up.18 When I said, "My feet are slipping," your mercy, O LORD, continued to hold me up.18 When I said, "My foot is slipping!" Your loving kindness, Yahweh, held me up.18 When I said, My foot slippeth, thy loving-kindness, O Jehovah, held me up.
19 When my anxious thoughts multiply within me, Your consolations delight my soul.19 In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.19 When I worried about many things, your assuring words soothed my soul.19 In the multitude of my thoughts within me, your comforts delight my soul.19 In the multitude of my anxious thoughts within me thy comforts have delighted my soul.
20 Can a throne of destruction be allied with You, One which devises mischief by decree?20 Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, which frameth mischief by a law?20 Are wicked rulers who use the law to do unlawful things able to be your partners?20 Shall the throne of wickedness have fellowship with you, which brings about mischief by statute?20 Shall the throne of wickedness be united to thee, which frameth mischief into a law?
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
21 They band themselves together against the life of the righteous And condemn the innocent to death.21 They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood.21 They join forces to take the lives of righteous people. They condemn innocent people to death.21 They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood.21 They band together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn innocent blood.
22 But the LORD has been my stronghold, And my God the rock of my refuge.22 But the LORD is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge.22 The LORD has become my stronghold. My God has become my rock of refuge.22 But Yahweh has been my high tower, my God, the rock of my refuge.22 But Jehovah will be my high tower; and my God the rock of my refuge.
23 He has brought back their wickedness upon them And will destroy them in their evil; The LORD our God will destroy them.23 And he shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; yea, the LORD our God shall cut them off.23 He has turned their own wickedness against them. He will destroy them because of their sins. The LORD our God will destroy them.23 He has brought on them their own iniquity, and will cut them off in their own wickedness. Yahweh, our God, will cut them off.23 And he will bring upon them their iniquity, and will cut them off in their own evil: Jehovah our God will cut them off.
