 In the same way, you wives, be submissive to your own husbands so that even if any of them are disobedient to the word, they may be won without a word by the behavior of their wives,1 Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;1 Wives, in a similar way, place yourselves under your husbands' authority. Some husbands may not obey God's word. Their wives could win these men [for Christ] by the way they live without saying anything.1 In the same way, wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; so that, even if any don't obey the Word, they may be won by the behavior of their wives without a word;1 Likewise, wives, be subject to your own husbands, that, even if any are disobedient to the word, they may be gained without the word by the conversation of the wives,
 as they observe your chaste and respectful behavior.2 While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear.2 Their husbands would see how pure and reverent their lives are.2 seeing your pure behavior in fear.2 having witnessed your pure conversation carried out in fear;
 Your adornment must not be merely external-- braiding the hair, and wearing gold jewelry, or putting on dresses;3 Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;3 Wives must not let their beauty be something external. Beauty doesn't come from hairstyles, gold jewelry, or clothes.3 Let your beauty be not just the outward adorning of braiding the hair, and of wearing jewels of gold, or of putting on fine clothing;3 whose adorning let it not be that outward one of tressing of hair, and wearing gold, or putting on apparel;
 but let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God.4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.4 Rather, beauty is something internal that can't be destroyed. Beauty expresses itself in a gentle and quiet attitude which God considers precious.4 but in the hidden person of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God very precious.4 but the hidden man of the heart, in the incorruptible ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which in the sight of God is of great price.
 For in this way in former times the holy women also, who hoped in God, used to adorn themselves, being submissive to their own husbands;5 For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:5 After all, this is how holy women who had confidence in God expressed their beauty in the past. They placed themselves under their husbands' authority5 For this is how the holy women before, who hoped in God also adorned themselves, being in subjection to their own husbands:5 For thus also the holy women who have hoped in God heretofore adorned themselves, being subject to their own husbands;

 just as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, and you have become her children if you do what is right without being frightened by any fear.6 Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.6 as Sarah did. Sarah obeyed Abraham and spoke to him respectfully. You became Sarah's daughters by not letting anything make you afraid to do good.6 as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, whose children you now are, if you do well, and are not put in fear by any terror.6 as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord; whose children ye have become, doing good, and not fearing with any kind of consternation.
 You husbands in the same way, live with your wives in an understanding way, as with someone weaker, since she is a woman; and show her honor as a fellow heir of the grace of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered.7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.7 Husbands, in a similar way, live with your wives with understanding since they are weaker than you are. Honor your wives as those who share God's life-giving kindness so that nothing will interfere with your prayers. 7 You husbands, in the same way, live with your wives according to knowledge, giving honor to the woman, as to the weaker vessel, as being also joint heirs of the grace of life; that your prayers may not be hindered.7 Ye husbands likewise, dwell with them according to knowledge, as with a weaker, even the female, vessel, giving them honour, as also fellow-heirs of the grace of life, that your prayers be not hindered.
 To sum up, all of you be harmonious, sympathetic, brotherly, kindhearted, and humble in spirit;8 Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:8 Finally, everyone must live in harmony, be sympathetic, love each other, have compassion, and be humble.8 Finally, be all like-minded, compassionate, loving as brothers, tenderhearted, courteous,8 Finally, be all of one mind, sympathising, full of brotherly love, tender hearted, humble minded;
 not returning evil for evil or insult for insult, but giving a blessing instead; for you were called for the very purpose that you might inherit a blessing.9 Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.9 Don't pay people back with evil for the evil they do to you, or ridicule those who ridicule you. Instead, bless them, because you were called to inherit a blessing.9 not rendering evil for evil, or insult for insult; but instead blessing; knowing that to this were you called, that you may inherit a blessing.9 not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing; but on the contrary, blessing others, because ye have been called to this, that ye should inherit blessing.
 For, "THE ONE WHO DESIRES LIFE, TO LOVE AND SEE GOOD DAYS, MUST KEEP HIS TONGUE FROM EVIL AND HIS LIPS FROM SPEAKING DECEIT.10 For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:10 "People who want to live a full life and enjoy good days must keep their tongues from saying evil things, and their lips from speaking deceitful things.10 For, "He who would love life, and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking deceit.10 For he that will love life and see good days, let him cause his tongue to cease from evil and his lips that they speak no guile.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 "HE MUST TURN AWAY FROM EVIL AND DO GOOD; HE MUST SEEK PEACE AND PURSUE IT.11 Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.11 They must turn away from evil and do good. They must seek peace and pursue it.11 Let him turn away from evil, and do good. Let him seek peace, and pursue it.11 And let him avoid evil, and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it;
 "FOR THE EYES OF THE LORD ARE TOWARD THE RIGHTEOUS, AND HIS EARS ATTEND TO THEIR PRAYER, BUT THE FACE OF THE LORD IS AGAINST THOSE WHO DO EVIL."12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.12 The Lord's eyes are on those who do what he approves. His ears hear their prayer. The Lord confronts those who do evil."12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears open to their prayer; but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil."12 because the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears towards their supplications; but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.
 Who is there to harm you if you prove zealous for what is good?13 And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?13 Who will harm you if you are devoted to doing what is good?13 Now who is he who will harm you, if you become imitators of that which is good?13 And who shall injure you if ye have become imitators of that which is good?
 But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are blessed. AND DO NOT FEAR THEIR INTIMIDATION, AND DO NOT BE TROUBLED,14 But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;14 But even if you suffer for doing what God approves, you are blessed. Don't be afraid of those who want to harm you. Don't get upset.14 But even if you should suffer for righteousness' sake, you are blessed. "Don't fear what they fear, neither be troubled."14 But if also ye should suffer for righteousness' sake, blessed are ye; but be not afraid of their fear, neither be troubled;
 but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence;15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:15 But dedicate your lives to Christ as Lord. Always be ready to defend your confidence [in God] when anyone asks you to explain it. However, make your defense with gentleness and respect.15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts; and always be ready to give an answer to everyone who asks you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, with humility and fear:15 but sanctify the Lord the Christ in your hearts, and be always prepared to give an answer to every one that asks you to give an account of the hope that is in you, but with meekness and fear;

 and keep a good conscience so that in the thing in which you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ will be put to shame.16 Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.16 Keep your conscience clear. Then those who treat the good Christian life you live with contempt will feel ashamed that they have ridiculed you.16 having a good conscience; that, while you are spoken against as evildoers, they may be disappointed who curse your good way of life in Christ.16 having a good conscience, that as to that in which they speak against you as evildoers, they may be ashamed who calumniate your good conversation in Christ.
 For it is better, if God should will it so, that you suffer for doing what is right rather than for doing what is wrong.17 For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.17 After all, if it is God's will, it's better to suffer for doing good than for doing wrong.17 For it is better, if it is God's will, that you suffer for doing well than for doing evil.17 For it is better, if the will of God should will it, to suffer as well-doers than as evildoers;
 For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:18 This is true because Christ suffered for our sins once. He was an innocent person, but he suffered for guilty people so that he could bring you to God. His body was put to death, but he was brought to life through his spirit.18 Because Christ also suffered for sins once, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring you to God; being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;18 for Christ indeed has once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God; being put to death in flesh, but made alive in the Spirit,
 in which also He went and made proclamation to the spirits now in prison,19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;19 In it he also went to proclaim his victory to the spirits kept in prison.19 in which he also went and preached to the spirits in prison,19 in which also going he preached to the spirits which are in prison,
 who once were disobedient, when the patience of God kept waiting in the days of Noah, during the construction of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through the water.20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.20 They are like those who disobeyed long ago in the days of Noah when God waited patiently while Noah built the ship. In this ship a few people-eight in all-were saved by water.20 who before were disobedient, when God waited patiently in the days of Noah, while the ship was being built. In it, few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water.20 heretofore disobedient, when the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah while the ark was preparing, into which few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water:

 Corresponding to that, baptism now saves you-- not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience-- through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:21 Baptism, which is like that water, now saves you. Baptism doesn't save by removing dirt from the body. Rather, baptism is a request to God for a clear conscience. It saves you through Jesus Christ, who came back from death to life.21 This is a symbol of baptism, which now saves you--not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,21 which figure also now saves you, even baptism, not a putting away of the filth of flesh, but the demand as before God of a good conscience, by the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
 who is at the right hand of God, having gone into heaven, after angels and authorities and powers had been subjected to Him.22 Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.22 Christ has gone to heaven where he has the highest position that God gives. Angels, rulers, and powers have been placed under his authority.22 who is at the right hand of God, having gone into heaven, angels and authorities and powers being made subject to him.22 who is at the right hand of God, gone into heaven, angels and authorities and powers being subjected to him.
