NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
1 "You shall not bear a false report; do not join your hand with a wicked man to be a malicious witness.1 Thou shalt not raise a false report: put not thine hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness.1 [The LORD continued,] "Never spread false rumors. Don't join forces with wicked people by giving false testimony.1 "You shall not spread a false report. Don't join your hand with the wicked to be a malicious witness.1 Thou shalt not accept a false report; extend not thy hand to the wicked, to be an unrighteous witness.
2 "You shall not follow the masses in doing evil, nor shall you testify in a dispute so as to turn aside after a multitude in order to pervert justice;2 Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou speak in a cause to decline after many to wrest judgment:2 Never follow a crowd in doing wrong. When you testify in court, don't side with the majority to pervert justice.2 "You shall not follow a crowd to do evil; neither shall you testify in court to side with a multitude to pervert justice;2 Thou shalt not follow the multitude for evil; neither shalt thou answer in a cause, to go after the multitude to pervert judgment.
3 nor shall you be partial to a poor man in his dispute.3 Neither shalt thou countenance a poor man in his cause.3 Never give special favors to poor people in court.3 neither shall you favor a poor man in his cause.3 Neither shalt thou favour a poor man in his cause.
4 "If you meet your enemy's ox or his donkey wandering away, you shall surely return it to him.4 If thou meet thine enemy's ox or his ass going astray, thou shalt surely bring it back to him again.4 "Whenever you come across your enemy's ox or donkey wandering loose, be sure to take it back to him.4 "If you meet your enemy's ox or his donkey going astray, you shall surely bring it back to him again.4 If thou meet thine enemy's ox or his ass going astray, thou shalt certainly bring it back to him.
5 "If you see the donkey of one who hates you lying helpless under its load, you shall refrain from leaving it to him, you shall surely release it with him.5 If thou see the ass of him that hateth thee lying under his burden, and wouldest forbear to help him, thou shalt surely help with him.5 Whenever you see that the donkey of someone who hates you has collapsed under its load, don't leave it there. Be sure to help him with his animal.5 If you see the donkey of him who hates you fallen down under his burden, don't leave him, you shall surely help him with it.5 If thou see the ass of him that hateth thee lying under its burden, beware of leaving it to him: thou shalt certainly loosen it with him.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
6 "You shall not pervert the justice due to your needy brother in his dispute.6 Thou shalt not wrest the judgment of thy poor in his cause.6 "Never deny justice to poor people in court.6 "You shall not deny justice to your poor people in their lawsuits.6 Thou shalt not pervert the judgment of thy poor in his cause.
7 "Keep far from a false charge, and do not kill the innocent or the righteous, for I will not acquit the guilty.7 Keep thee far from a false matter; and the innocent and righteous slay thou not: for I will not justify the wicked.7 Avoid telling lies. Don't kill innocent or honest people, because I will never declare guilty people innocent.7 "Keep far from a false charge, and don't kill the innocent and righteous: for I will not justify the wicked.7 Thou shalt keep far from the cause of falsehood; and the innocent and righteous slay not; for I will not justify the wicked.
8 "You shall not take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the clear-sighted and subverts the cause of the just.8 And thou shalt take no gift: for the gift blindeth the wise, and perverteth the words of the righteous.8 Never take a bribe, because bribes blind those who can see and deny justice to those who are in the right.8 "You shall take no bribe, for a bribe blinds those who have sight and perverts the words of the righteous.8 And thou shalt take no bribe; for the bribe blindeth those whose eyes are open, and perverteth the words of the righteous.
9 "You shall not oppress a stranger, since you yourselves know the feelings of a stranger, for you also were strangers in the land of Egypt.9 Also thou shalt not oppress a stranger: for ye know the heart of a stranger, seeing ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.9 "Never oppress foreigners. You know what it's like to be foreigners because you were foreigners living in Egypt.9 "You shall not oppress an alien, for you know the heart of an alien, since you were aliens in the land of Egypt.9 And the stranger thou shalt not oppress; for ye know the spirit of the stranger, for ye have been strangers in the land of Egypt.
The Sabbath and Land
10 "You shall sow your land for six years and gather in its yield,10 And six years thou shalt sow thy land, and shalt gather in the fruits thereof:10 "For six years you may plant crops in your fields and harvest them,10 "For six years you shall sow your land, and shall gather in its increase,10 And six years thou shalt sow thy land, and gather in its produce;
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
11 but on the seventh year you shall let it rest and lie fallow, so that the needy of your people may eat; and whatever they leave the beast of the field may eat. You are to do the same with your vineyard and your olive grove.11 But the seventh year thou shalt let it rest and lie still; that the poor of thy people may eat: and what they leave the beasts of the field shall eat. In like manner thou shalt deal with thy vineyard, and with thy oliveyard.11 but in the seventh year you must leave the land unplowed and unused. In that way the poor among your people will have food to eat, and wild animals may eat what the poor people leave. You must do the same with your vineyards and olive groves.11 but the seventh year you shall let it rest and lie fallow, that the poor of your people may eat; and what they leave the animal of the field shall eat. In the same way, you shall deal with your vineyard and with your olive grove.11 but in the seventh thou shalt let it rest and lie fallow, that the poor of thy people may eat of it; and what they leave, the beasts of the field shall eat. In like manner thou shalt deal with thy vineyard, and with thine olive-tree.
12 "Six days you are to do your work, but on the seventh day you shall cease from labor so that your ox and your donkey may rest, and the son of your female slave, as well as your stranger, may refresh themselves.12 Six days thou shalt do thy work, and on the seventh day thou shalt rest: that thine ox and thine ass may rest, and the son of thy handmaid, and the stranger, may be refreshed.12 "For six days you will do your work, but on the seventh day you must not work. Then your ox and donkey can rest. The slaves born in your household and foreigners will also be refreshed.12 "Six days you shall do your work, and on the seventh day you shall rest, that your ox and your donkey may have rest, and the son of your handmaid, and the alien may be refreshed.12 Six days thou shalt do thy work, but on the seventh day thou shalt rest; that thine ox and thine ass may rest, and the son of thy handmaid, and the stranger may be refreshed.
13 "Now concerning everything which I have said to you, be on your guard; and do not mention the name of other gods, nor let them be heard from your mouth.13 And in all things that I have said unto you be circumspect: and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of thy mouth.13 "Be careful [to do] everything I told you. "Never mention the names of other gods or let them be heard on your lips.13 "Be careful to do all things that I have said to you; and don't invoke the name of other gods, neither let them be heard out of your mouth.13 And ye shall be on your guard as to everything that I have said unto you; and shall make no mention of the name of other gods it shall not be heard in thy mouth.
Three National Feasts
14 "Three times a year you shall celebrate a feast to Me.14 Three times thou shalt keep a feast unto me in the year.14 "Three times a year you must celebrate a pilgrimage festival in my honor.14 "You shall observe a feast to me three times a year.14 Thrice in the year thou shalt celebrate a feast to me.
15 "You shall observe the Feast of Unleavened Bread; for seven days you are to eat unleavened bread, as I commanded you, at the appointed time in the month Abib, for in it you came out of Egypt. And none shall appear before Me empty-handed.15 Thou shalt keep the feast of unleavened bread: (thou shalt eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded thee, in the time appointed of the month Abib; for in it thou camest out from Egypt: and none shall appear before me empty:)15 "Celebrate the Festival of Unleavened Bread: For seven days you must eat unleavened bread, as I commanded you. Do this at the appointed time in the month of Abib, because that was when you left Egypt. No one may come into my presence without an offering.15 You shall observe the feast of unleavened bread. Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread, as I commanded you, at the time appointed in the month Abib (for in it you came out from Egypt), and no one shall appear before me empty.15 Thou shalt keep the feast of unleavened bread, (thou shalt eat unleavened bread seven days, as I have commanded thee, in the time appointed of the month Abib; for in it thou camest out from Egypt; and none shall appear in my presence empty;)
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
16 "Also you shall observe the Feast of the Harvest of the first fruits of your labors from what you sow in the field; also the Feast of the Ingathering at the end of the year when you gather in the fruit of your labors from the field.16 And the feast of harvest, the firstfruits of thy labors, which thou hast sown in the field: and the feast of ingathering, which is in the end of the year, when thou hast gathered in thy labors out of the field.16 "Celebrate the Festival of the Harvest with the first produce harvested from whatever you plant in your fields. "Celebrate the Festival of the Final Harvest at the end of the year when you harvest your crops from the fields.16 And the feast of harvest, the first fruits of your labors, which you sow in the field: and the feast of harvest, at the end of the year, when you gather in your labors out of the field.16 and the feast of harvest, the first-fruits of thy labours which thou hast sown in the field, and the feast of in-gathering, at the end of the year, when thou gatherest in thy labours out of the field.
17 "Three times a year all your males shall appear before the Lord GOD.17 Three times in the year all thy males shall appear before the LORD God.17 "These are the three times each year that all your men must come into the presence of the Master, the LORD.17 Three times in the year all your males shall appear before the Lord Yahweh.17 Three times in the year all thy males shall appear in the presence of the Lord Jehovah.
18 "You shall not offer the blood of My sacrifice with leavened bread; nor is the fat of My feast to remain overnight until morning.18 Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leavened bread; neither shall the fat of my sacrifice remain until the morning.18 "Never offer the blood of a sacrifice to me at the same time you offer anything containing yeast. The fat sacrificed at my festivals should never be left over in the morning.18 "You shall not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leavened bread, neither shall the fat of my feast remain all night until the morning.18 Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leavened bread; neither shall the fat of my feast remain all night until the morning.
19 "You shall bring the choice first fruits of your soil into the house of the LORD your God. "You are not to boil a young goat in the milk of its mother.19 The first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring into the house of the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk.19 "You must bring the best of the first produce harvested from your soil to the house of the LORD your God. "Never cook a young goat in its mother's milk.19 The first of the first fruits of your ground you shall bring into the house of Yahweh your God. "You shall not boil a young goat in its mother's milk.19 The first of the first-fruits of thy land thou shalt bring into the house of Jehovah thy God. Thou shalt not boil a kid in its mother's milk.
Conquest of the Land
20 "Behold, I am going to send an angel before you to guard you along the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared.20 Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared.20 "I'm going to send a Messenger in front of you to protect you on your trip and bring you to the place I have prepared.20 "Behold, I send an angel before you, to keep you by the way, and to bring you into the place which I have prepared.20 Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee to the place that I have prepared.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
21 "Be on your guard before him and obey his voice; do not be rebellious toward him, for he will not pardon your transgression, since My name is in him.21 Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name is in him.21 Pay attention to him, and listen to him. Don't defy him, because he will not forgive your disobedience. He is acting on my authority.21 Pay attention to him, and listen to his voice. Don't provoke him, for he will not pardon your disobedience, for my name is in him.21 Be careful in his presence, and hearken unto his voice: do not provoke him, for he will not forgive your transgressions; for my name is in him.
22 "But if you truly obey his voice and do all that I say, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries.22 But if thou shalt indeed obey his voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary unto thine adversaries.22 But if you will listen to him and do everything I say, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an opponent to your opponents.22 But if you indeed listen to his voice, and do all that I speak, then I will be an enemy to your enemies, and an adversary to your adversaries.22 But if thou shalt diligently hearken unto his voice, and do all that I shall say, then I will be an enemy to thine enemies, and an adversary to thine adversaries.
23 "For My angel will go before you and bring you in to the land of the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Canaanites, the Hivites and the Jebusites; and I will completely destroy them.23 For mine Angel shall go before thee, and bring thee in unto the Amorites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites: and I will cut them off.23 "My Messenger will go ahead of you and will bring you to [the land of] the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Canaanites, Hivites, and Jebusites. I will wipe them out.23 For my angel shall go before you, and bring you in to the Amorite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, the Canaanite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite; and I will cut them off.23 For mine Angel shall go before thee, and bring thee in unto the Amorites and the Hittites and the Perizzites and the Canaanites, the Hivites and the Jebusites; and I will cut them off.
24 "You shall not worship their gods, nor serve them, nor do according to their deeds; but you shall utterly overthrow them and break their sacred pillars in pieces.24 Thou shalt not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do after their works: but thou shalt utterly overthrow them, and quite break down their images.24 Never worship or serve their gods or follow their practices. Instead, you must destroy their gods and crush their sacred stones.24 You shall not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor follow their practices, but you shall utterly overthrow them and demolish their pillars.24 Thou shalt not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do after their deeds; but thou shalt utterly destroy them, and utterly shatter their statues.
25 "But you shall serve the LORD your God, and He will bless your bread and your water; and I will remove sickness from your midst.25 And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.25 You must serve the LORD your God, and he will bless your food and water. I will take away all sickness from among you.25 You shall serve Yahweh your God, and he will bless your bread and your water, and I will take sickness away from your midst.25 And ye shall serve Jehovah your God; and he shall bless thy bread and thy water; and I will take sickness away from thy midst.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
26 "There shall be no one miscarrying or barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days.26 There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in thy land: the number of thy days I will fulfil.26 No woman in your land will miscarry or be unable to have children. I will let you live a normal life span.26 No one will miscarry or be barren in your land. I will fulfill the number of your days.26 There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in thy land; the number of thy days will I fulfil.
27 "I will send My terror ahead of you, and throw into confusion all the people among whom you come, and I will make all your enemies turn their backs to you.27 I will send my fear before thee, and will destroy all the people to whom thou shalt come, and I will make all thine enemies turn their backs unto thee.27 "I will send my terror ahead of you and throw any nation you meet into a panic. I will make all your enemies flee from you.27 I will send my terror before you, and will confuse all the people to whom you come, and I will make all your enemies turn their backs to you.27 I will send my fear before thee, and confound every people to which thou comest, and will make all thine enemies turn their back to thee.
28 "I will send hornets ahead of you so that they will drive out the Hivites, the Canaanites, and the Hittites before you.28 And I will send hornets before thee, which shall drive out the Hivite, the Canaanite, and the Hittite, from before thee.28 I will spread panic ahead of you to force the Hivites, Canaanites, and Hittites out of your way.28 I will send the hornet before you, which will drive out the Hivite, the Canaanite, and the Hittite, from before you.28 And I will send hornets before thee, which shall drive out the Hivite, the Canaanite, and the Hittite, from before thee.
29 "I will not drive them out before you in a single year, that the land may not become desolate and the beasts of the field become too numerous for you.29 I will not drive them out from before thee in one year; lest the land become desolate, and the beast of the field multiply against thee.29 I will not force them out of your way in one year. Otherwise, the land would be deserted, and wild animals would take over.29 I will not drive them out from before you in one year, lest the land become desolate, and the animals of the field multiply against you.29 I will not drive them out from before thee in one year: lest the land become desolate, and the beast of the field multiply against thee.
30 "I will drive them out before you little by little, until you become fruitful and take possession of the land.30 By little and little I will drive them out from before thee, until thou be increased, and inherit the land.30 Little by little I will force them out of your way until you have increased enough in number to take possession of the land.30 Little by little I will drive them out from before you, until you have increased and inherit the land.30 By little and little I will drive them out from before thee, until thou art fruitful, and possess the land.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
31 "I will fix your boundary from the Red Sea to the sea of the Philistines, and from the wilderness to the River Euphrates; for I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand, and you will drive them out before you.31 And I will set thy bounds from the Red sea even unto the sea of the Philistines, and from the desert unto the river: for I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand; and thou shalt drive them out before thee.31 "I will establish your borders from the Red Sea to the Mediterranean Sea and from the Sinai Desert to the Euphrates River. I will put the people living in the land under your control, and you will force them out of your way.31 I will set your border from the Red Sea even to the sea of the Philistines, and from the wilderness to the River; for I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand, and you shall drive them out before you.31 And I will set thy bounds from the Red Sea even unto the sea of the Philistines, and from the wilderness unto the river; for I will give the inhabitants of the land into your hand, that thou mayest dispossess them from before thee.
32 "You shall make no covenant with them or with their gods.32 Thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor with their gods.32 Never make a treaty with them and their gods.32 You shall make no covenant with them, nor with their gods.32 Thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor with their gods.
33 "They shall not live in your land, because they will make you sin against Me; for if you serve their gods, it will surely be a snare to you."33 They shall not dwell in thy land, lest they make thee sin against me: for if thou serve their gods, it will surely be a snare unto thee.33 Never let them live in your land, or they will make you sin against me and trap you into serving their gods."33 They shall not dwell in your land, lest they make you sin against me, for if you serve their gods, it will surely be a snare to you."33 They shall not dwell in thy land, lest they make thee sin against me; for if thou serve their gods, it is sure to be a snare unto thee.
