Curtains of Linen

1 "Moreover you shall make the tabernacle with ten curtains of fine twisted linen and blue and purple and scarlet material; you shall make them with cherubim, the work of a skillful workman.1 Moreover thou shalt make the tabernacle with ten curtains of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet: with cherubim of cunning work shalt thou make them.1 [The LORD continued,] "Make the inner tent with ten sheets made from fine linen yarn. Take violet, purple, and bright red yarn, and creatively work an angel design into the fabric. 1 "Moreover you shall make the tabernacle with ten curtains; of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet, with cherubim. The work of the skillful workman you shall make them.1 And thou shalt make the tabernacle with ten curtains of twined byssus, and blue, and purple, and scarlet: with cherubim of artistic work shalt thou make them.
2 "The length of each curtain shall be twenty-eight cubits, and the width of each curtain four cubits; all the curtains shall have the same measurements.2 The length of one curtain shall be eight and twenty cubits, and the breadth of one curtain four cubits: and every one of the curtains shall have one measure.2 Each sheet will be 42 feet long and 6 feet wide-all the same size.2 The length of each curtain shall be twenty-eight cubits, and the breadth of each curtain four cubits: all the curtains shall have one measure.2 The length of one curtain shall be twenty-eight cubits, and the breadth of one curtain four cubits one measure for all the curtains.
3 "Five curtains shall be joined to one another, and the other five curtains shall be joined to one another.3 The five curtains shall be coupled together one to another; and other five curtains shall be coupled one to another.3 Five of the sheets must be sewn together, and the other five must also be sewn together.3 Five curtains shall be coupled together one to another; and the other five curtains shall be coupled one to another.3 Five of the curtains shall be coupled one to another, and the other five curtains coupled one to another.
4 "You shall make loops of blue on the edge of the outermost curtain in the first set, and likewise you shall make them on the edge of the curtain that is outermost in the second set.4 And thou shalt make loops of blue upon the edge of the one curtain from the selvedge in the coupling; and likewise shalt thou make in the uttermost edge of another curtain, in the coupling of the second.4 Make 50 violet loops along the edge of the end sheet in each set,4 You shall make loops of blue on the edge of the one curtain from the edge in the coupling; and likewise you shall make in the edge of the curtain that is outmost in the second coupling.4 And thou shalt make loops of blue on the edge of the one curtain at the end of the coupling; and likewise shalt thou make them in the edge of the outermost curtain in the other coupling.
5 "You shall make fifty loops in the one curtain, and you shall make fifty loops on the edge of the curtain that is in the second set; the loops shall be opposite each other.5 Fifty loops shalt thou make in the one curtain, and fifty loops shalt thou make in the edge of the curtain that is in the coupling of the second; that the loops may take hold one of another.5 placing the loops opposite each other.5 You shall make fifty loops in the one curtain, and you shall make fifty loops in the edge of the curtain that is in the second coupling. The loops shall be opposite one to another.5 Fifty loops shalt thou make in the one curtain, and fifty loops shalt thou make at the end of the curtain in the other coupling: the loops shall be opposite to one another.

6 "You shall make fifty clasps of gold, and join the curtains to one another with the clasps so that the tabernacle will be a unit.6 And thou shalt make fifty taches of gold, and couple the curtains together with the taches: and it shall be one tabernacle.6 Make 50 gold fasteners. Use them to link the [two sets of] sheets together so that the tent is a single unit.6 You shall make fifty clasps of gold, and couple the curtains one to another with the clasps: and the tabernacle shall be a unit.6 And thou shalt make fifty clasps of gold, and couple the curtains together with the clasps, that the tabernacle may be one whole.
Curtains of Goats’ Hair
7 "Then you shall make curtains of goats' hair for a tent over the tabernacle; you shall make eleven curtains in all.7 And thou shalt make curtains of goats' hair to be a covering upon the tabernacle: eleven curtains shalt thou make.7 "Make 11 sheets of goats' hair to form an outer tent over the inner tent.7 "You shall make curtains of goats' hair for a covering over the tabernacle. You shall make them eleven curtains.7 And thou shalt make curtains of goats' hair for a tent over the tabernacle: eleven curtains shalt thou make them.
8 "The length of each curtain shall be thirty cubits, and the width of each curtain four cubits; the eleven curtains shall have the same measurements.8 The length of one curtain shall be thirty cubits, and the breadth of one curtain four cubits: and the eleven curtains shall be all of one measure.8 Each of the 11 sheets will be 45 feet long and 6 feet wide.8 The length of each curtain shall be thirty cubits, and the breadth of each curtain four cubits: the eleven curtains shall have one measure.8 The length of one curtain shall be thirty cubits, and the breadth of one curtain four cubits one measure for the eleven curtains.
9 "You shall join five curtains by themselves and the other six curtains by themselves, and you shall double over the sixth curtain at the front of the tent.9 And thou shalt couple five curtains by themselves, and six curtains by themselves, and shalt double the sixth curtain in the forefront of the tabernacle.9 Sew five of the sheets together into one set and the remaining six into another set. Fold the sixth sheet in half [to hang] in front of the tent.9 You shall couple five curtains by themselves, and six curtains by themselves, and shall double over the sixth curtain in the forefront of the tent.9 And thou shalt couple five of the curtains by themselves, and six of the curtains by themselves, and shalt double the sixth curtain in the front of the tent.
10 "You shall make fifty loops on the edge of the curtain that is outermost in the first set, and fifty loops on the edge of the curtain that is outermost in the second set.10 And thou shalt make fifty loops on the edge of the one curtain that is outmost in the coupling, and fifty loops in the edge of the curtain which coupleth the second.10 Make 50 loops along the edge of the end sheet in each set.10 You shall make fifty loops on the edge of the one curtain that is outmost in the coupling, and fifty loops on the edge of the curtain which is outmost in the second coupling.10 And thou shalt make fifty loops on the edge of the outermost curtain of the coupling, and fifty loops on the edge of the curtain in the other coupling.

11 "You shall make fifty clasps of bronze, and you shall put the clasps into the loops and join the tent together so that it will be a unit.11 And thou shalt make fifty taches of brass, and put the taches into the loops, and couple the tent together, that it may be one.11 Make 50 bronze fasteners, and put them through the loops to link the inner tent together as a single unit.11 You shall make fifty clasps of brass, and put the clasps into the loops, and couple the tent together, that it may be one.11 And thou shalt make fifty clasps of copper, and put the clasps into the loops, and couple the tent, that it may be one whole.
12 "The overlapping part that is left over in the curtains of the tent, the half curtain that is left over, shall lap over the back of the tabernacle.12 And the remnant that remaineth of the curtains of the tent, the half curtain that remaineth, shall hang over the backside of the tabernacle.12 The remaining half-sheet should hang over the back of the inner tent.12 The overhanging part that remains of the curtains of the tent, the half curtain that remains, shall hang over the back of the tabernacle.12 And that which remaineth hanging over of the curtains of the tent, the half curtain that remaineth, shall hang over the rear of the tabernacle.
13 "The cubit on one side and the cubit on the other, of what is left over in the length of the curtains of the tent, shall lap over the sides of the tabernacle on one side and on the other, to cover it.13 And a cubit on the one side, and a cubit on the other side of that which remaineth in the length of the curtains of the tent, it shall hang over the sides of the tabernacle on this side and on that side, to cover it.13 There will be 18 inches left over on each side because of the length of the outer tent's sheets. That part should hang over each side in order to cover the inner tent.13 The cubit on the one side, and the cubit on the other side, of that which remains in the length of the curtains of the tent, shall hang over the sides of the tabernacle on this side and on that side, to cover it.13 And the cubit on the one side, and the cubit on the other side of that which remaineth in the length of the curtains of the tent, shall hang over the sides of the tabernacle on this side and on that side, to cover it.
14 "You shall make a covering for the tent of rams' skins dyed red and a covering of porpoise skins above.14 And thou shalt make a covering for the tent of rams' skins dyed red, and a covering above of badgers' skins.14 Make a cover of rams' skins that have been dyed red for the outer tent. Over that put a cover made of fine leather. 14 You shall make a covering for the tent of rams' skins dyed red, and a covering of sea cow hides above.14 And thou shalt make a covering for the tent of rams' skins dyed red, and a covering of badgers' skins over that.
Boards and Sockets
15 "Then you shall make the boards for the tabernacle of acacia wood, standing upright.15 And thou shalt make boards for the tabernacle of shittim wood standing up.15 "Make a framework out of acacia wood for the inner tent.15 "You shall make the boards for the tabernacle of acacia wood, standing up.15 And the boards for the tabernacle thou shalt make of acacia-wood, standing up;

16 "Ten cubits shall be the length of each board and one and a half cubits the width of each board.16 Ten cubits shall be the length of a board, and a cubit and a half shall be the breadth of one board.16 Each frame is to be 15 feet long and 27 inches wide,16 Ten cubits shall be the length of a board, and one and a half cubits the breadth of each board.16 ten cubits the length of the board, and a cubit and a half the breadth of one board.
17 "There shall be two tenons for each board, fitted to one another; thus you shall do for all the boards of the tabernacle.17 Two tenons shall there be in one board, set in order one against another: thus shalt thou make for all the boards of the tabernacle.17 with two identical pegs. Make all the frames for the inner tent the same way.17 There shall be two tenons in each board, joined to one another: thus you shall make for all the boards of the tabernacle.17 One board shall have two tenons, connected one with the other: thus shalt thou make for all the boards of the tabernacle.
18 "You shall make the boards for the tabernacle: twenty boards for the south side.18 And thou shalt make the boards for the tabernacle, twenty boards on the south side southward.18 Make 20 frames for the south side of the inner tent.18 You shall make the boards for the tabernacle, twenty boards for the south side southward.18 And thou shalt make the boards for the tabernacle, twenty boards on the south side southward.
19 "You shall make forty sockets of silver under the twenty boards, two sockets under one board for its two tenons and two sockets under another board for its two tenons;19 And thou shalt make forty sockets of silver under the twenty boards; two sockets under one board for his two tenons, and two sockets under another board for his two tenons.19 Then make 40 silver sockets at the bottom of the 20 frames, two sockets at the bottom of each frame for the two pegs.19 You shall make forty sockets of silver under the twenty boards; two sockets under one board for its two tenons, and two sockets under another board for its two tenons.19 And thou shalt make forty bases of silver under the twenty boards; two bases under one board for its two tenons, and two bases under another board for its two tenons.
20 and for the second side of the tabernacle, on the north side, twenty boards,20 And for the second side of the tabernacle on the north side there shall be twenty boards:20 For the north side of the inner tent [make] 20 frames20 For the second side of the tabernacle, on the north side, twenty boards,20 And for the other side of the tabernacle on the north side there shall be twenty boards.

22 "For the rear of the tabernacle, to the west, you shall make six boards.22 And for the sides of the tabernacle westward thou shalt make six boards.22 Make six frames for the far end, the west side.22 For the far part of the tabernacle westward you shall make six boards.22 And for the rear of the tabernacle westward thou shalt make six boards.
23 "You shall make two boards for the corners of the tabernacle at the rear.23 And two boards shalt thou make for the corners of the tabernacle in the two sides.23 Make two frames for [each of] the corners at the far end of the inner tent.23 You shall make two boards for the corners of the tabernacle in the far part.23 And two boards shalt thou make for the corners of the tabernacle at the rear;
24 "They shall be double beneath, and together they shall be complete to its top to the first ring; thus it shall be with both of them: they shall form the two corners.24 And they shall be coupled together beneath, and they shall be coupled together above the head of it unto one ring: thus shall it be for them both; they shall be for the two corners.24 These will be held together at the bottom and held tightly at the top by a single ring. Both corner frames will be made this way. 24 They shall be double beneath, and in the same way they shall be whole to its top to one ring: thus shall it be for them both; they shall be for the two corners.24 and they shall be joined beneath, and together shall be united at the top thereof to one ring: thus shall it be for them both; they shall be for the two corners.
25 "There shall be eight boards with their sockets of silver, sixteen sockets; two sockets under one board and two sockets under another board.25 And they shall be eight boards, and their sockets of silver, sixteen sockets; two sockets under one board, and two sockets under another board.25 There will be eight frames with 16 silver sockets, two at the bottom of each frame.25 There shall be eight boards, and their sockets of silver, sixteen sockets; two sockets under one board, and two sockets under another board.25 And there shall be eight boards, and their bases, of silver, sixteen bases; two bases under one board, and two bases under another board.

26 "Then you shall make bars of acacia wood, five for the boards of one side of the tabernacle,26 And thou shalt make bars of shittim wood; five for the boards of the one side of the tabernacle,26 "Make crossbars out of acacia wood: five for the frames on one side of the inner tent,26 "You shall make bars of acacia wood: five for the boards of the one side of the tabernacle,26 And thou shalt make bars of acacia-wood; five for the boards of the one side of the tabernacle,
27 and five bars for the boards of the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards of the side of the tabernacle for the rear side to the west.27 And five bars for the boards of the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards of the side of the tabernacle, for the two sides westward.27 five for those on the other side, and five for the frames on the far end of the inner tent, the west side.27 and five bars for the boards of the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards of the side of the tabernacle, for the far part westward.27 and five bars for the boards of the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards of the side of the tabernacle at the rear westward;
28 "The middle bar in the center of the boards shall pass through from end to end.28 And the middle bar in the midst of the boards shall reach from end to end.28 The middle crossbar will run from one end to the other, halfway up the frames.28 The middle bar in the midst of the boards shall pass through from end to end.28 and the middle bar in the midst of the boards reaching from one end to the other.
29 "You shall overlay the boards with gold and make their rings of gold as holders for the bars; and you shall overlay the bars with gold.29 And thou shalt overlay the boards with gold, and make their rings of gold for places for the bars: and thou shalt overlay the bars with gold.29 Cover the frames with gold, make gold rings to hold the crossbars, and cover the crossbars with gold.29 You shall overlay the boards with gold, and make their rings of gold for places for the bars: and you shall overlay the bars with gold.29 And thou shalt overlay the boards with gold, and make of gold their rings, the receptacles of the bars, and shalt overlay the bars with gold.
30 "Then you shall erect the tabernacle according to its plan which you have been shown in the mountain.30 And thou shalt rear up the tabernacle according to the fashion thereof which was showed thee in the mount.30 "Set up the inner tent according to the plans you were shown on the mountain.30 You shall set up the tabernacle according to the way that it was shown to you on the mountain.30 And thou shalt set up the tabernacle according to its fashion, as hath been shewn thee on the mountain.
The Veil and Screen

31 "You shall make a veil of blue and purple and scarlet material and fine twisted linen; it shall be made with cherubim, the work of a skillful workman.31 And thou shalt make a vail of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen of cunning work: with cherubim shall it be made:31 "Make a canopy of violet, purple, and bright red yarn. Creatively work an angel design into fine linen yarn.31 "You shall make a veil of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, with cherubim. The work of the skillful workman shall it be made.31 And thou shalt make a veil of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and twined byssus; of artistic work shall it be made, with cherubim.
32 "You shall hang it on four pillars of acacia overlaid with gold, their hooks also being of gold, on four sockets of silver.32 And thou shalt hang it upon four pillars of shittim wood overlaid with gold: their hooks shall be of gold, upon the four sockets of silver.32 Use gold hooks to hang it on four posts of acacia wood covered with gold, standing in four silver sockets.32 You shall hang it on four pillars of acacia overlaid with gold; their hooks shall be of gold, on four sockets of silver.32 And thou shalt attach it to four pillars of acacia-wood overlaid with gold, their hooks of gold; they shall be on four bases of silver.
33 "You shall hang up the veil under the clasps, and shall bring in the ark of the testimony there within the veil; and the veil shall serve for you as a partition between the holy place and the holy of holies.33 And thou shalt hang up the vail under the taches, that thou mayest bring in thither within the vail the ark of the testimony: and the vail shall divide unto you between the holy place and the most holy.33 Hang the canopy from the fasteners in the ceiling, and put the ark containing the words of my promise under it. The canopy will mark off the most holy place from the holy place.33 You shall hang up the veil under the clasps, and shall bring the ark of the testimony in there within the veil: and the veil shall separate the holy place from the most holy for you.33 And thou shalt bring the veil under the clasps, and bring in thither, inside the veil, the ark of the testimony; and the curtain shall make a division to you between the holy place and the holiest of all.
34 "You shall put the mercy seat on the ark of the testimony in the holy of holies.34 And thou shalt put the mercy seat upon the ark of the testimony in the most holy place.34 Put the throne of mercy that is on the ark in the most holy place.34 You shall put the mercy seat on the ark of the testimony in the most holy place.34 And thou shalt put the mercy-seat on the ark of the testimony in the holiest of all.
35 "You shall set the table outside the veil, and the lampstand opposite the table on the side of the tabernacle toward the south; and you shall put the table on the north side.35 And thou shalt set the table without the vail, and the candlestick over against the table on the side of the tabernacle toward the south: and thou shalt put the table on the north side.35 "Place the table outside the canopy on the north side of the inner tent, and put the lamp stand opposite the table on the south side.35 You shall set the table outside the veil, and the lampstand over against the table on the side of the tabernacle toward the south: and you shall put the table on the north side.35 And thou shalt set the table outside the veil, and the lamp-stand opposite to the table on the side of the tabernacle southward; and thou shalt put the table on the north side.

36 "You shall make a screen for the doorway of the tent of blue and purple and scarlet material and fine twisted linen, the work of a weaver.36 And thou shalt make an hanging for the door of the tent, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, wrought with needlework.36 "For the entrance of the outer tent, make a screen out of fine linen yarn, embroidered with violet, purple, and bright red yarn.36 "You shall make a screen for the door of the Tent, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, the work of the embroiderer.36 And thou shalt make for the entrance of the tent a curtain of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and twined byssus, of embroidery.
37 "You shall make five pillars of acacia for the screen and overlay them with gold, their hooks also being of gold; and you shall cast five sockets of bronze for them.37 And thou shalt make for the hanging five pillars of shittim wood, and overlay them with gold, and their hooks shall be of gold: and thou shalt cast five sockets of brass for them.37 Make five posts of acacia wood for the screen and cover them with gold. Make gold hooks for this screen. Cast five bronze bases for the posts."37 You shall make for the screen five pillars of acacia, and overlay them with gold: their hooks shall be of gold: and you shall cast five sockets of brass for them.37 And thou shalt make for the curtain five pillars of acacia-wood, and overlay them with gold; their hooks shall be of gold; and thou shalt cast five bases of copper for them.
