Eliphaz Accuses and Exhorts Job
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 Then Eliphaz the Temanite responded,1 Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said,1 Then Eliphaz from Teman replied [to Job],1 Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered,1 And Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said,
 "Can a vigorous man be of use to God, Or a wise man be useful to himself?2 Can a man be profitable unto God, as he that is wise may be profitable unto himself?2 "Can a human be of any use to God when even a wise person is only useful to himself?2 "Can a man be profitable to God? Surely he who is wise is profitable to himself.2 Can a man be profitable to God? surely it is unto himself that the wise man is profitable.
 "Is there any pleasure to the Almighty if you are righteous, Or profit if you make your ways perfect?3 Is it any pleasure to the Almighty, that thou art righteous? or is it gain to him, that thou makest thy ways perfect?3 Is the Almighty pleased when you are righteous? Does he gain anything when you follow the path of integrity?3 Is it any pleasure to the Almighty, that you are righteous? Or does it benefit him, that you make your ways perfect?3 Is it any pleasure to the Almighty if thou art righteous? And is it gain to him that thou makest thy ways perfect?
 "Is it because of your reverence that He reproves you, That He enters into judgment against you?4 Will he reprove thee for fear of thee? will he enter with thee into judgment?4 Does God correct you and bring you into a court of law because you fear him?4 Is it for your piety that he reproves you, that he enters with you into judgment?4 Will he reason with thee for fear of thee? Will he enter with thee into judgment?
 "Is not your wickedness great, And your iniquities without end?5 Is not thy wickedness great? and thine iniquities infinite?5 "Aren't you really very wicked? Is there no end to your wrongdoing?5 Isn't your wickedness great? Neither is there any end to your iniquities.5 Is not thy wickedness great? and thine iniquities without end?
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 "For you have taken pledges of your brothers without cause, And stripped men naked.6 For thou hast taken a pledge from thy brother for nought, and stripped the naked of their clothing.6 For no reason you take your brothers' goods as security for a loan and strip them of their clothes. 6 For you have taken pledges from your brother for nothing, and stripped the naked of their clothing.6 For thou hast taken a pledge of thy brother for nought, and stripped off the clothing of the naked.
 "To the weary you have given no water to drink, And from the hungry you have withheld bread.7 Thou hast not given water to the weary to drink, and thou hast withholden bread from the hungry.7 You don't even give a tired person a drink of water, and you take food away from hungry people.7 You haven't given water to the weary to drink, and you have withheld bread from the hungry.7 Thou hast not given water to the fainting to drink, and thou hast withholden bread from the hungry.
 "But the earth belongs to the mighty man, And the honorable man dwells in it.8 But as for the mighty man, he had the earth; and the honourable man dwelt in it.8 A strong person owns the land. A privileged person lives in it.8 But as for the mighty man, he had the earth. The honorable man, he lived in it.8 But the powerful man, he had the land; and the man of high rank dwelt in it.
 "You have sent widows away empty, And the strength of the orphans has been crushed.9 Thou hast sent widows away empty, and the arms of the fatherless have been broken.9 You send widows away empty-handed, and the arms of orphans are broken.9 You have sent widows away empty, and the arms of the fatherless have been broken.9 Widows hast thou sent empty away, and the arms of the fatherless have been broken.
 "Therefore snares surround you, And sudden dread terrifies you,10 Therefore snares are round about thee, and sudden fear troubleth thee;10 That is why traps are all around you and great fear suddenly grips you.10 Therefore snares are around you. Sudden fear troubles you,10 Therefore snares are round about thee, and sudden fear troubleth thee;

 Or darkness, so that you cannot see, And an abundance of water covers you.11 Or darkness, that thou canst not see; and abundance of waters cover thee.11 [That is why] darkness surrounds you and you cannot see and a flood of water covers you.11 or darkness, so that you can not see, and floods of waters cover you.11 Or darkness, that thou canst not see, and floods of waters cover thee.
 "Is not God in the height of heaven? Look also at the distant stars, how high they are!12 Is not God in the height of heaven? and behold the height of the stars, how high they are!12 "Isn't God high above in the heavens? Look how high the highest stars are!12 "Isn't God in the heights of heaven? See the height of the stars, how high they are!12 Is not +God in the height of the heavens? And behold the summit of the stars: how exalted are they!
 "You say, 'What does God know? Can He judge through the thick darkness?13 And thou sayest, How doth God know? can he judge through the dark cloud?13 You ask, 'What does God know? Can he judge [anything] from behind a dark cloud?13 You say, 'What does God know? Can he judge through the thick darkness?13 And thou sayest, What doth God know? will he judge through the dark cloud?
 'Clouds are a hiding place for Him, so that He cannot see; And He walks on the vault of heaven.'14 Thick clouds are a covering to him, that he seeth not; and he walketh in the circuit of heaven.14 Thick clouds surround him so that he cannot see. He walks above the clouds.' 14 Thick clouds are a covering to him, so that he doesn't see. He walks on the vault of the sky.'14 Thick clouds are a covering to him, that he seeth not; and he walketh on the vault of the heavens.
 "Will you keep to the ancient path Which wicked men have trod,15 Hast thou marked the old way which wicked men have trodden?15 "Are you following the old path that wicked people have taken?15 Will you keep the old way, which wicked men have trodden,15 Dost thou mark the ancient path which wicked men have trodden?

 Who were snatched away before their time, Whose foundations were washed away by a river?16 Which were cut down out of time, whose foundation was overflown with a flood:16 They are snatched up before their time. A river washes their foundation away.16 who were snatched away before their time, whose foundation was poured out as a stream,16 Who were carried off before the time, whose foundation was overflowed with a flood;
 "They said to God, 'Depart from us!' And 'What can the Almighty do to them?'17 Which said unto God, Depart from us: and what can the Almighty do for them?17 They told God, 'Leave us alone! What can the Almighty do for us?'17 who said to God, 'Depart from us;' and, 'What can the Almighty do for us?'17 Who said unto God, Depart from us! and what could the Almighty do to them?
 "Yet He filled their houses with good things; But the counsel of the wicked is far from me.18 Yet he filled their houses with good things: but the counsel of the wicked is far from me.18 Yet, he filled their homes with good things. (The plan of the wicked is foreign to my way of thinking.)18 Yet he filled their houses with good things, but the counsel of the wicked is far from me.18 Yet he filled their houses with good. But the counsel of the wicked is far from me.
 "The righteous see and are glad, And the innocent mock them,19 The righteous see it, and are glad: and the innocent laugh them to scorn.19 The righteous saw it and were glad, and the innocent made fun of them by saying,19 The righteous see it, and are glad. The innocent ridicule them,19 The righteous see it, and are glad; and the innocent laugh them to scorn:
 Saying, 'Truly our adversaries are cut off, And their abundance the fire has consumed.'20 Whereas our substance is not cut down, but the remnant of them the fire consumeth.20 'Indeed, their wealth has been wiped out, and a fire has burned up what [little] they had left.'20 saying, 'Surely those who rose up against us are cut off. The fire has consumed the remnant of them.'20 Is not he who rose against us destroyed, and doth not the fire consume his residue?

 "Yield now and be at peace with Him; Thereby good will come to you.21 Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee.21 "Be in harmony and at peace with God. In this way you will have prosperity.21 "Acquaint yourself with him, now, and be at peace. Thereby good shall come to you.21 Reconcile thyself now with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee.
 "Please receive instruction from His mouth And establish His words in your heart.22 Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in thine heart.22 Accept instruction from his mouth, and keep his words in your heart.22 Please receive instruction from his mouth, and lay up his words in your heart.22 Receive, I pray thee, instruction from his mouth, and lay up his words in thy heart.
 "If you return to the Almighty, you will be restored; If you remove unrighteousness far from your tent,23 If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, thou shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles.23 If you return to the Almighty, you will prosper. If you put wrongdoing out of your tent,23 If you return to the Almighty, you shall be built up, if you put away unrighteousness far from your tents.23 If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up. If thou remove unrighteousness far from thy tents,
 And place your gold in the dust, And the gold of Ophir among the stones of the brooks,24 Then shalt thou lay up gold as dust, and the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brooks.24 and lay your gold down in the dust, and put your gold from Ophir among the pebbles in the rivers,24 Lay your treasure in the dust, the gold of Ophir among the stones of the brooks.24 And put the precious ore with the dust, and the gold of Ophir among the stones of the torrents,
 Then the Almighty will be your gold And choice silver to you.25 Yea, the Almighty shall be thy defence, and thou shalt have plenty of silver.25 then the Almighty will become your gold and your large supply of silver.25 The Almighty will be your treasure, and precious silver to you.25 Then the Almighty will be thy precious ore, and silver heaped up unto thee;
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 "For then you will delight in the Almighty And lift up your face to God.26 For then shalt thou have thy delight in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto God.26 Then you will be happy with the Almighty and look up toward God.26 For then you will delight yourself in the Almighty, and shall lift up your face to God.26 Yea, then shalt thou delight thyself in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto +God:
 "You will pray to Him, and He will hear you; And you will pay your vows.27 Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows.27 You will pray to him, and he will listen to you, and you will keep your vow to him.27 You shall make your prayer to him, and he will hear you. You shall pay your vows.27 Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he will hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows;
 "You will also decree a thing, and it will be established for you; And light will shine on your ways.28 Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.28 When you promise to do something, you will succeed, and light will shine on your path.28 You shall also decree a thing, and it shall be established to you. Light shall shine on your ways.28 And thou shalt decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee; and light shall shine upon thy ways.
 "When you are cast down, you will speak with confidence, And the humble person He will save.29 When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person.29 When others are discouraged, you will say, 'Cheer up!' Then he will save the humble person. 29 When they cast down, you shall say, 'be lifted up.' He will save the humble person.29 When they are made low, then thou shalt say, Rise up! and he shall save him that is of downcast eyes.
 "He will deliver one who is not innocent, And he will be delivered through the cleanness of your hands."30 He shall deliver the island of the innocent: and it is delivered by the pureness of thine hands.30 He will rescue one who is not innocent. That person will be rescued by your purity." Where Can I Find God?30 He will even deliver him who is not innocent. Yes, he shall be delivered through the cleanness of your hands."30 Even him that is not innocent shall he deliver; yea, he shall be delivered by the pureness of thy hands.
