Elihu Claims to Speak for God
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 "However now, Job, please hear my speech, And listen to all my words.1 Wherefore, Job, I pray thee, hear my speeches, and hearken to all my words.1 "Please, Job, listen to my words and consider everything I say.1 "However, Job, please hear my speech, and listen to all my words.1 Howbeit, Job, I pray thee, hear mine utterances, and hearken to all my words.
 "Behold now, I open my mouth, My tongue in my mouth speaks.2 Behold, now I have opened my mouth, my tongue hath spoken in my mouth.2 I've opened my mouth. The words are on the tip of my tongue.2 See now, I have opened my mouth. My tongue has spoken in my mouth.2 Behold now, I have opened my mouth, my tongue speaketh in my palate,
 "My words are from the uprightness of my heart, And my lips speak knowledge sincerely.3 My words shall be of the uprightness of my heart: and my lips shall utter knowledge clearly.3 My words are straight from the heart, and I sincerely speak the knowledge that is on my lips.3 My words shall utter the uprightness of my heart. That which my lips know they shall speak sincerely.3 My words shall be of the uprightness of my heart, and my lips shall utter knowledge purely.
 "The Spirit of God has made me, And the breath of the Almighty gives me life.4 The spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.4 "God's Spirit has made me. The breath of the Almighty gives me life.4 The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.4 The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.
 "Refute me if you can; Array yourselves before me, take your stand.5 If thou canst answer me, set thy words in order before me, stand up.5 Answer me if you can. Present your case to me, and take your stand.5 If you can, answer me. Set your words in order before me, and stand forth.5 If thou canst, answer me; array thy words before me: take thy stand.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 "Behold, I belong to God like you; I too have been formed out of the clay.6 Behold, I am according to thy wish in God's stead: I also am formed out of the clay.6 Indeed, I stand in front of God as you do. I, too, was formed from a piece of clay.6 Behold, I am toward God even as you are. I am also formed out of the clay.6 Behold, before God I am as thou; I also am formed out of the clay.
 "Behold, no fear of me should terrify you, Nor should my pressure weigh heavily on you.7 Behold, my terror shall not make thee afraid, neither shall my hand be heavy upon thee.7 You certainly don't need to be terrified of me. I won't put too much pressure on you.7 Behold, my terror shall not make you afraid, neither shall my pressure be heavy on you.7 Behold, my terror shall not make thee afraid, nor my burden be heavy upon thee.
 "Surely you have spoken in my hearing, And I have heard the sound of your words:8 Surely thou hast spoken in mine hearing, and I have heard the voice of thy words, saying,8 "But you spoke directly to me, and I listened to your words.8 "Surely you have spoken in my hearing, I have heard the voice of your words, saying,8 Surely thou hast spoken in my hearing, and I have heard the voice of thy words: --
 'I am pure, without transgression; I am innocent and there is no guilt in me.9 I am clean without transgression, I am innocent; neither is there iniquity in me.9 [You said,] 'I'm pure-without any rebellious acts [against God]. I'm clean; I have no sin.9 'I am clean, without disobedience. I am innocent, neither is there iniquity in me.9 I am clean without transgression; I am pure, and there is no iniquity in me;
 'Behold, He invents pretexts against me; He counts me as His enemy.10 Behold, he findeth occasions against me, he counteth me for his enemy,10 God is only looking for an excuse to attack me. He considers me his enemy.10 Behold, he finds occasions against me. He counts me for his enemy.10 Lo, he findeth occasions of hostility against me, he counteth me for his enemy;
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 'He puts my feet in the stocks; He watches all my paths.'11 He putteth my feet in the stocks, he marketh all my paths.11 He puts my feet in the stocks and watches all my paths.'11 He puts my feet in the stocks. He marks all my paths.'11 He putteth my feet in the stocks, he marketh all my paths.
 "Behold, let me tell you, you are not right in this, For God is greater than man.12 Behold, in this thou art not just: I will answer thee, that God is greater than man.12 You aren't right about this! I've got an answer for you: God is greater than any mortal.12 "Behold, I will answer you. In this you are not just, for God is greater than man.12 Behold, I will answer thee in this, thou art not right; for +God is greater than man.
 "Why do you complain against Him That He does not give an account of all His doings?13 Why dost thou strive against him? for he giveth not account of any of his matters.13 Why do you quarrel with him since he doesn't answer any questions?13 Why do you strive against him, because he doesn't give account of any of his matters?13 Why dost thou strive against him? for he giveth not account of any of his matters.
 "Indeed God speaks once, Or twice, yet no one notices it.14 For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not.14 "God speaks in one way, even in two ways without people noticing it:14 For God speaks once, yes twice, though man pays no attention.14 For God speaketh once, and twice, and man perceiveth it not --
 "In a dream, a vision of the night, When sound sleep falls on men, While they slumber in their beds,15 In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed;15 In a dream, a prophetic vision at night, when people fall into a deep sleep, when they sleep on their beds,15 In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on men, in slumbering on the bed;15 In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed;
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 Then He opens the ears of men, And seals their instruction,16 Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction,16 he opens people's ears and terrifies them with warnings.16 Then he opens the ears of men, and seals their instruction,16 Then he openeth men's ears, and sealeth their instruction,
 That He may turn man aside from his conduct, And keep man from pride;17 That he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man.17 [He warns them] to turn away from doing [wrong] and to stop being arrogant. 17 That he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man.17 That he may withdraw man from his work, and hide pride from man.
 He keeps back his soul from the pit, And his life from passing over into Sheol.18 He keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.18 He keeps their souls from the pit and their lives from crossing the River [of Death].18 He keeps back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.18 He keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from passing away by the sword.
 "Man is also chastened with pain on his bed, And with unceasing complaint in his bones;19 He is chastened also with pain upon his bed, and the multitude of his bones with strong pain:19 In pain on their sickbeds, they are disciplined with endless aching in their bones19 He is chastened also with pain on his bed, with continual strife in his bones;19 He is chastened also with pain upon his bed, and with constant strife in his bones;
 So that his life loathes bread, And his soul favorite food.20 So that his life abhorreth bread, and his soul dainty meat.20 so that their whole being hates food and they lose their appetite for a delicious meal.20 So that his life abhors bread, and his soul dainty food.20 And his life abhorreth bread, and his soul dainty food;
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 "His flesh wastes away from sight, And his bones which were not seen stick out.21 His flesh is consumed away, that it cannot be seen; and his bones that were not seen stick out.21 Their flesh becomes so thin that it can't be seen. Their bones, not seen before, will be exposed.21 His flesh is so consumed away, that it can't be seen. His bones that were not seen stick out.21 His flesh is consumed away from view, and his bones that were not seen stick out;
 "Then his soul draws near to the pit, And his life to those who bring death.22 Yea, his soul draweth near unto the grave, and his life to the destroyers.22 Their souls approach the pit. Their lives come close to those already dead.22 Yes, his soul draws near to the pit, and his life to the destroyers.22 And his soul draweth near to the pit, and his life to the destroyers.
 "If there is an angel as mediator for him, One out of a thousand, To remind a man what is right for him,23 If there be a messenger with him, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to shew unto man his uprightness:23 "If they have a messenger for them, a spokesman, one in a thousand, to tell people what is right for them,23 "If there is beside him an angel, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to show to man what is right for him;23 If there be a messenger with him, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to shew unto man his duty;
 Then let him be gracious to him, and say, 'Deliver him from going down to the pit, I have found a ransom';24 Then he is gracious unto him, and saith, Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom.24 then he will have pity on them and say, 'Free them from going into the pit. I have found a ransom.'24 then God is gracious to him, and says, 'Deliver him from going down to the pit, I have found a ransom.'24 Then he will be gracious unto him, and say, Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom.
 Let his flesh become fresher than in youth, Let him return to the days of his youthful vigor;25 His flesh shall be fresher than a child's: he shall return to the days of his youth:25 Then their flesh will become softer than a child's. They will go back to the days of their youth.25 His flesh shall be fresher than a child's. He returns to the days of his youth.25 His flesh shall be fresher than in childhood; he shall return to the days of his youth.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 Then he will pray to God, and He will accept him, That he may see His face with joy, And He may restore His righteousness to man.26 He shall pray unto God, and he will be favourable unto him: and he shall see his face with joy: for he will render unto man his righteousness.26 They will pray to God, who will be pleased with them. They will see God's face and shout for joy as he restores their righteousness. 26 He prays to God, and he is favorable to him, so that he sees his face with joy. He restores to man his righteousness.26 He shall pray unto +God, and he will receive him with favour; and he shall see his face with shoutings, and he will render unto man his righteousness.
 "He will sing to men and say, 'I have sinned and perverted what is right, And it is not proper for me.27 He looketh upon men, and if any say, I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, and it profited me not;27 Each one sings in front of other people and says, 'I sinned and did wrong instead of what was right, and it did me no good.27 He sings before men, and says, 'I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, and it didn't profit me.27 He will sing before men, and say, I have sinned, and perverted what was right, and it hath not been requited to me;
 'He has redeemed my soul from going to the pit, And my life shall see the light.'28 He will deliver his soul from going into the pit, and his life shall see the light.28 The messenger has freed my soul from going into the pit, and my life will see the light.'28 He has redeemed my soul from going into the pit. My life shall see the light.'28 He hath delivered my soul from going into the pit, and my life shall see the light.
 "Behold, God does all these oftentimes with men,29 Lo, all these things worketh God oftentimes with man,29 Truly, God does all this two or three times with people29 "Behold, God works all these things, twice, yes three times, with a man,29 Lo, all these things worketh God twice, thrice, with man,
 To bring back his soul from the pit, That he may be enlightened with the light of life.30 To bring back his soul from the pit, to be enlightened with the light of the living.30 to turn their souls away from the pit and to enlighten them with the light of life.30 to bring back his soul from the pit, that he may be enlightened with the light of the living.30 To bring back his soul from the pit, that he may be enlightened with the light of the living.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 "Pay attention, O Job, listen to me; Keep silent, and let me speak.31 Mark well, O Job, hearken unto me: hold thy peace, and I will speak.31 "Pay attention, Job! Listen to me! Keep quiet, and let me speak.31 Mark well, Job, and listen to me. Hold your peace, and I will speak.31 Mark well, Job, hearken unto me; be silent, and I will speak.
 "Then if you have anything to say, answer me; Speak, for I desire to justify you.32 If thou hast anything to say, answer me: speak, for I desire to justify thee.32 If you have a response, answer me. Speak, because I'd be happy if you were right.32 If you have anything to say, answer me. Speak, for I desire to justify you.32 If thou hast anything to say, answer me; speak, for I desire to justify thee.
 "If not, listen to me; Keep silent, and I will teach you wisdom."33 If not, hearken unto me: hold thy peace, and I shall teach thee wisdom.33 If not, you listen to me. Keep quiet, and I'll teach you wisdom."33 If not, listen to me. Hold your peace, and I will teach you wisdom."33 If not, hearken thou unto me; be silent, and I will teach thee wisdom.
