 "Call now, is there anyone who will answer you? And to which of the holy ones will you turn?1 Call now, if there be any that will answer thee; and to which of the saints wilt thou turn?1 "Cry out! Is there anyone to answer you? To which of the holy ones will you turn?1 "Call now; is there any who will answer you? To which of the holy ones will you turn?1 Call, I pray thee! Is there any that answereth thee? and to which of the holy ones wilt thou turn?
 "For anger slays the foolish man, And jealousy kills the simple.2 For wrath killeth the foolish man, and envy slayeth the silly one.2 Certainly, anger kills a stubborn fool, and jealousy murders a gullible person.2 For resentment kills the foolish man, and jealousy kills the simple.2 For vexation killeth the foolish man, and envy slayeth the simple.
 "I have seen the foolish taking root, And I cursed his abode immediately.3 I have seen the foolish taking root: but suddenly I cursed his habitation.3 I have seen a stubborn fool take root, but I quickly cursed his house.3 I have seen the foolish taking root, but suddenly I cursed his habitation.3 I myself saw the foolish taking root, but suddenly I cursed his habitation.
 "His sons are far from safety, They are even oppressed in the gate, And there is no deliverer.4 His children are far from safety, and they are crushed in the gate, neither is there any to deliver them.4 His children are far from help. They are crushed at the city gate, and no one is there to rescue them.4 His children are far from safety. They are crushed in the gate. Neither is there any to deliver them,4 His children are far from safety, and they are crushed in the gate, and there is no deliverer:
 "His harvest the hungry devour And take it to a place of thorns, And the schemer is eager for their wealth.5 Whose harvest the hungry eateth up, and taketh it even out of the thorns, and the robber swalloweth up their substance.5 What a stubborn fool gathers, hungry people eat. They take it even from among the thorns, and thirsty people pant after his wealth. 5 whose harvest the hungry eats up, and take it even out of the thorns. The snare gapes for their substance.5 Whose harvest the hungry eateth up, and taketh even out of the thorns; and the snare gapeth for his substance.

 "For affliction does not come from the dust, Nor does trouble sprout from the ground,6 Although affliction cometh not forth of the dust, neither doth trouble spring out of the ground;6 Certainly, sorrow doesn't come from the soil, and trouble doesn't sprout from the ground.6 For affliction doesn't come forth from the dust, neither does trouble spring out of the ground;6 For evil cometh not forth from the dust, neither doth trouble spring out of the ground;
 For man is born for trouble, As sparks fly upward.7 Yet man is born unto trouble, as the sparks fly upward.7 But a person is born for trouble as surely as sparks fly up [from a fire].7 but man is born to trouble, as the sparks fly upward.7 For man is born to trouble, as the sparks fly upwards.
 "But as for me, I would seek God, And I would place my cause before God;8 I would seek unto God, and unto God would I commit my cause:8 "But I would seek God's help and present my case to him.8 "But as for me, I would seek God. I would commit my cause to God,8 But as for me I will seek unto God, and unto God commit my cause;
 Who does great and unsearchable things, Wonders without number.9 Which doeth great things and unsearchable; marvellous things without number:9 He does great things that [we] cannot understand and miracles that [we] cannot count.9 who does great things that can't be fathomed, marvelous things without number;9 Who doeth great things and unsearchable, marvellous things without number;
 "He gives rain on the earth And sends water on the fields,10 Who giveth rain upon the earth, and sendeth waters upon the fields:10 He gives rain to the earth and sends water to the fields.10 who gives rain on the earth, and sends waters on the fields;10 Who giveth rain on the face of the earth, and sendeth waters on the face of the fields;

 So that He sets on high those who are lowly, And those who mourn are lifted to safety.11 To set up on high those that be low; that those which mourn may be exalted to safety.11 He places lowly people up high. He lifts those who mourn to safety.11 so that he sets up on high those who are low, those who mourn are exalted to safety.11 Setting up on high those that are low; and mourners are exalted to prosperity.
 "He frustrates the plotting of the shrewd, So that their hands cannot attain success.12 He disappointeth the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise.12 He keeps shrewd people from carrying out their plans so that they cannot do anything successfully.12 He frustrates the devices of the crafty, So that their hands can't perform their enterprise.12 He disappointeth the devices of the crafty, and their hands carry not out the enterprise.
 "He captures the wise by their own shrewdness, And the advice of the cunning is quickly thwarted.13 He taketh the wise in their own craftiness: and the counsel of the froward is carried headlong.13 He catches the wise with their own tricks. The plans of schemers prove to be hasty.13 He takes the wise in their own craftiness; the counsel of the cunning is carried headlong.13 He taketh the wise in their own craftiness; and the counsel of the wily is carried headlong:
 "By day they meet with darkness, And grope at noon as in the night.14 They meet with darkness in the day time, and grope in the noonday as in the night.14 In the daytime they meet darkness and grope in the sunlight as if it were night.14 They meet with darkness in the day time, and grope at noonday as in the night.14 They meet with darkness in a the daytime, and grope at midday as in the night.
 "But He saves from the sword of their mouth, And the poor from the hand of the mighty.15 But he saveth the poor from the sword, from their mouth, and from the hand of the mighty.15 "But he saves [other people] from their slander and the needy from the power of the mighty.15 But he saves from the sword of their mouth, even the needy from the hand of the mighty.15 And he saveth the needy from the sword, from their mouth, and from the hand of the mighty.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 "So the helpless has hope, And unrighteousness must shut its mouth.16 So the poor hath hope, and iniquity stoppeth her mouth.16 Then the poor have hope while wrongdoing shuts its mouth.16 So the poor has hope, and injustice shuts her mouth.16 So the poor hath what he hopeth for, and unrighteousness stoppeth her mouth.
 "Behold, how happy is the man whom God reproves, So do not despise the discipline of the Almighty.17 Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty:17 "Blessed is the person whom God corrects. That person should not despise discipline from the Almighty.17 "Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects. Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty.17 Behold, happy is the man whom +God correcteth; therefore despise not the chastening of the Almighty.
 "For He inflicts pain, and gives relief; He wounds, and His hands also heal.18 For he maketh sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make whole.18 God injures, but he bandages. He beats you up, but his hands make you well.18 For he wounds, and binds up. He injures, and his hands make whole.18 For he maketh sore, and bindeth up; he woundeth, and his hands make whole.
 "From six troubles He will deliver you, Even in seven evil will not touch you.19 He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee.19 He will keep you safe from six troubles, and when the seventh one comes, no harm will touch you:19 He will deliver you in six troubles; yes, in seven no evil shall touch you.19 He will deliver thee in six troubles, and in seven there shall no evil touch thee.
 "In famine He will redeem you from death, And in war from the power of the sword.20 In famine he shall redeem thee from death: and in war from the power of the sword.20 "In famine he will save you from death, and in war he will save you from the sword.20 In famine he will redeem you from death; in war, from the power of the sword.20 In famine he will redeem thee from death, and in war from the power of the sword.

 "You will be hidden from the scourge of the tongue, And you will not be afraid of violence when it comes.21 Thou shalt be hid from the scourge of the tongue: neither shalt thou be afraid of destruction when it cometh.21 "When the tongue lashes out, you will be safe, and you will not be afraid of destruction when it comes.21 You shall be hidden from the scourge of the tongue, neither shall you be afraid of destruction when it comes.21 Thou shalt be hidden from the scourge of the tongue; and thou shalt not be afraid of destruction when it cometh.
 "You will laugh at violence and famine, And you will not be afraid of wild beasts.22 At destruction and famine thou shalt laugh: neither shalt thou be afraid of the beasts of the earth.22 "You will be able to laugh at destruction and starvation, so do not be afraid of wild animals on the earth.22 At destruction and famine you shall laugh, neither shall you be afraid of the animals of the earth.22 At destruction and famine thou shalt laugh, and of the beasts of the earth thou shalt not be afraid.
 "For you will be in league with the stones of the field, And the beasts of the field will be at peace with you.23 For thou shalt be in league with the stones of the field: and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee.23 "You will have a binding agreement with the stones in the field, and wild animals will be at peace with you.23 For you shall be allied with the stones of the field. The animals of the field shall be at peace with you.23 For thou shalt be in league with the stones of the field, and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee.
 "You will know that your tent is secure, For you will visit your abode and fear no loss.24 And thou shalt know that thy tabernacle shall be in peace; and thou shalt visit thy habitation, and shalt not sin.24 "You will know peace in your tent. You will inspect your house and find nothing missing.24 You shall know that your tent is in peace. You shall visit your fold, and shall miss nothing.24 And thou shalt know that thy tent is in peace; and thou wilt survey thy fold, and miss nothing.
 "You will know also that your descendants will be many, And your offspring as the grass of the earth.25 Thou shalt know also that thy seed shall be great, and thine offspring as the grass of the earth.25 "You will find that your children are many and your descendants are like the grass of the earth.25 You shall know also that your seed shall be great, Your offspring as the grass of the earth.25 And thou shalt know that thy seed is numerous, and thine offspring as the herb of the earth.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 "You will come to the grave in full vigor, Like the stacking of grain in its season.26 Thou shalt come to thy grave in a full age, like as a shock of corn cometh in in his season.26 "You will come to your grave at a ripe old age like a stack of hay in the right season.26 You shall come to your grave in a full age, like a shock of grain comes in its season.26 Thou shalt come to the grave in a ripe age, as a shock of corn is brought in in its season.
 "Behold this; we have investigated it, and so it is. Hear it, and know for yourself."27 Lo this, we have searched it, so it is; hear it, and know thou it for thy good.27 "We have studied all of this thoroughly! This is the way it is. Listen to it, and learn it for yourself." God Has Attacked Me Without Cause27 Look this, we have searched it, so it is. Hear it, and know it for your good."27 Behold this, we have searched it out, so it is; hear it, and know thou it for thyself.
