 Then Bildad the Shuhite answered,1 Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,1 Then Bildad from Shuah replied [to Job],1 Then Bildad the Shuhite answered,1 And Bildad the Shuhite answered and said,
 "How long will you say these things, And the words of your mouth be a mighty wind?2 How long wilt thou speak these things? and how long shall the words of thy mouth be like a strong wind?2 "How long will you say these things? How long will your words be so windy?2 "How long will you speak these things? Shall the words of your mouth be a mighty wind?2 How long wilt thou speak these things? and the words of thy mouth be a strong wind?
 "Does God pervert justice? Or does the Almighty pervert what is right?3 Doth God pervert judgment? or doth the Almighty pervert justice?3 Does God distort justice, or does the Almighty distort righteousness?3 Does God pervert justice? Or does the Almighty pervert righteousness?3 Doth God pervert judgment, and the Almighty pervert justice?
 "If your sons sinned against Him, Then He delivered them into the power of their transgression.4 If thy children have sinned against him, and he have cast them away for their transgression;4 If your children sinned against him, he allowed them to suffer the consequences of their sinfulness.4 If your children have sinned against him, He has delivered them into the hand of their disobedience.4 If thy children have sinned against him, he hath also given them over into the hand of their transgression.
 "If you would seek God And implore the compassion of the Almighty,5 If thou wouldest seek unto God betimes, and make thy supplication to the Almighty;5 If you search for God and plead for mercy from the Almighty,5 If you want to seek God diligently, make your supplication to the Almighty.5 If thou seek earnestly unto God, and make thy supplication to the Almighty,
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 If you are pure and upright, Surely now He would rouse Himself for you And restore your righteous estate.6 If thou wert pure and upright; surely now he would awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous.6 if you are moral and ethical, then he will rise up on your behalf and prove your righteousness by rebuilding your home. 6 If you were pure and upright, surely now he would awaken for you, and make the habitation of your righteousness prosperous.6 If thou be pure and upright, surely now he will awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous;
 "Though your beginning was insignificant, Yet your end will increase greatly.7 Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase.7 Then what you had in the past will seem small compared with the great prosperity you'll have in the future.7 Though your beginning was small, yet your latter end would greatly increase.7 And though thy beginning was small, yet thine end shall be very great.
 "Please inquire of past generations, And consider the things searched out by their fathers.8 For enquire, I pray thee, of the former age, and prepare thyself to the search of their fathers:8 "Ask the people of past generations. Find out what their ancestors had learned.8 "Please inquire of past generations. Find out about the learning of their fathers.8 For inquire, I pray thee, of the former generation, and attend to the researches of their fathers;
 "For we are only of yesterday and know nothing, Because our days on earth are as a shadow.9 (For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days upon earth are a shadow:)9 We have only been around since yesterday, and we know nothing. Our days on earth are only a fleeting shadow.9 (For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days on earth are a shadow.)9 For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, for our days upon earth are a shadow.
 "Will they not teach you and tell you, And bring forth words from their minds?10 Shall not they teach thee, and tell thee, and utter words out of their heart?10 Won't their words teach you? Won't they share their thoughts with you?10 Shall they not teach you, tell you, and utter words out of their heart?10 Shall not they teach thee, and tell thee, and utter words out of their heart?

 "Can the papyrus grow up without a marsh? Can the rushes grow without water?11 Can the rush grow up without mire? can the flag grow without water?11 "Can papyrus grow up where there is no swamp? Can rushes grow tall without water?11 "Can the papyrus grow up without mire? Can the rushes grow without water?11 Doth the papyrus shoot up without mire? doth the reed-grass grow without water?
 "While it is still green and not cut down, Yet it withers before any other plant.12 Whilst it is yet in his greenness, and not cut down, it withereth before any other herb.12 Even if they were fresh and not cut, they would wither quicker than grass.12 While it is yet in its greenness, not cut down, it withers before any other reed.12 Whilst it is yet in its greenness and not cut down, it withereth before any other grass.
 "So are the paths of all who forget God; And the hope of the godless will perish,13 So are the paths of all that forget God; and the hypocrite's hope shall perish:13 The same thing happens to all who forget God. The hope of the godless dies.13 So are the paths of all who forget God. The hope of the godless man shall perish,13 So are the paths of all that forget God; and the profane man's hope shall perish,
 Whose confidence is fragile, And whose trust a spider's web.14 Whose hope shall be cut off, and whose trust shall be a spider's web.14 His confidence is easily shattered. His trust is a spider's web.14 Whose confidence shall break apart, Whose trust is a spider's web.14 Whose confidence shall be cut off, and his reliance is a spider's web.
 "He trusts in his house, but it does not stand; He holds fast to it, but it does not endure.15 He shall lean upon his house, but it shall not stand: he shall hold it fast, but it shall not endure.15 If one leans on his house, it collapses. If one holds on to it, it will not support his weight.15 He shall lean on his house, but it shall not stand. He shall cling to it, but it shall not endure.15 He shall lean upon his house, and it shall not stand; he shall lay hold on it, but it shall not endure.

 "He thrives before the sun, And his shoots spread out over his garden.16 He is green before the sun, and his branch shooteth forth in his garden.16 He is like a well-watered plant in the sunshine. The shoots spread over his garden.16 He is green before the sun. His shoots go forth over his garden.16 He is full of sap before the sun, and his sprout shooteth forth over his garden;
 "His roots wrap around a rock pile, He grasps a house of stones.17 His roots are wrapped about the heap, and seeth the place of stones.17 Its roots weave through a pile of stones. They cling to a stone house.17 His roots are wrapped around the rock pile. He sees the place of stones.17 His roots are entwined about the stoneheap; he seeth the place of stones.
 "If he is removed from his place, Then it will deny him, saying, 'I never saw you.'18 If he destroy him from his place, then it shall deny him, saying, I have not seen thee.18 But when it is uprooted from its place, [the ground] denies it [and says], 'I never saw you!'18 If he is destroyed from his place, then it shall deny him, saying, 'I have not seen you.'18 If he destroy him from his place, then it shall deny him: I have not seen thee!
 "Behold, this is the joy of His way; And out of the dust others will spring.19 Behold, this is the joy of his way, and out of the earth shall others grow.19 That is its joy in this life, and others sprout from the same ground to [take its place].19 Behold, this is the joy of his way: out of the earth, others shall spring.19 Behold, this is the joy of his way, and out of the dust shall others grow.
 "Lo, God will not reject a man of integrity, Nor will He support the evildoers.20 Behold, God will not cast away a perfect man, neither will he help the evil doers:20 "Certainly, God does not reject a person of integrity or give a helping hand to wicked people.20 "Behold, God will not cast away a blameless man, neither will he uphold the evildoers.20 Behold, God will not cast off a perfect man, neither will he take evil-doers by the hand.
NASBKJVGWTWEBDBY
 "He will yet fill your mouth with laughter And your lips with shouting.21 Till he fill thy mouth with laughing, and thy lips with rejoicing.21 He will fill your mouth with laughter and your lips with happy shouting.21 He will still fill your mouth with laughter, your lips with shouting.21 Whilst he would fill thy mouth with laughing and thy lips with shouting,
 "Those who hate you will be clothed with shame, And the tent of the wicked will be no longer."22 They that hate thee shall be clothed with shame; and the dwelling place of the wicked shall come to nought.22 Those who hate you will be clothed with shame, and the tent of the wicked will cease to exist." The Futility of Arguing With God22 Those who hate you shall be clothed with shame. The tent of the wicked shall be no more."22 They that hate thee shall be clothed with shame, and the tent of the wicked be no more.
